0:46:08 > 0:46:13Are you tucked up all cosy and warm, just like the teddies? Yes? Good.

0:46:13 > 0:46:17That means we're all ready for tonight's story, which is called

0:46:17 > 0:46:21The Bears In The Bed And The Great Big Storm.

0:46:25 > 0:46:27How the wind blew!

0:46:27 > 0:46:32It howled in the treetops, so that the branches bent and creaked

0:46:32 > 0:46:35and the leaves shivered and shook.

0:46:35 > 0:46:38It blew over the hills and the high places,

0:46:38 > 0:46:41howling and wailing through the rocky passes.

0:46:42 > 0:46:45Bear and Mrs Bear slept warm and snug

0:46:45 > 0:46:53and untroubled in their bed. Then Bear felt a tugging at his blanket.

0:46:53 > 0:46:54He opened one eye.

0:46:56 > 0:47:01There was Baby Bear. "There's a monster outside!

0:47:01 > 0:47:05"I can hear it howling and wailing, and I'm scared!

0:47:05 > 0:47:07"Can I sleep in your bed?"

0:47:07 > 0:47:10"There's no such thing as monsters," said Bear.

0:47:10 > 0:47:15"What a scaredy-bear you are!" But he pulled back the cover

0:47:15 > 0:47:18and Baby Bear snuggled up all warm and safe.

0:47:19 > 0:47:21How the thunder crashed.

0:47:21 > 0:47:24It boomed and crackled so the house shuddered

0:47:24 > 0:47:28and the windows rattled and grumbled, and rumbled,

0:47:28 > 0:47:33and echoed, and faded... Only to boom and crash again!

0:47:34 > 0:47:37Mrs Bear and Baby Bear slept warm and snug

0:47:37 > 0:47:40and untroubled in their bed.

0:47:40 > 0:47:44But Bear lay awake with his paws over his ears.

0:47:46 > 0:47:49Then Bear felt a tapping on his shoulder.

0:47:49 > 0:47:53There was Little Bear. "There's a monster outside.

0:47:53 > 0:47:56"Its tummy is rumbling and grumbling, and it's going to eat me.

0:47:56 > 0:47:59Can I sleep with you?"

0:47:59 > 0:48:03"There's no such thing as monsters!" said Bear.

0:48:03 > 0:48:07"You're another scaredy-bear." But he lifted the cover,

0:48:07 > 0:48:12and Little Bear snuggled up, all warm and safe.

0:48:12 > 0:48:14How the lightning flashed!

0:48:14 > 0:48:18It forked and flickered, lighting the scurrying clouds,

0:48:18 > 0:48:22and splashing quick black shadows on the windows and the walls.

0:48:22 > 0:48:26Mrs Bear and Baby Bear and Little Bear slept warm

0:48:26 > 0:48:29and snug and untroubled in their bed.

0:48:29 > 0:48:34But Bear lay awake with his pillow wrapped around his head!

0:48:34 > 0:48:39Then Bear felt a tap on his nose. It was Young Bear.

0:48:40 > 0:48:42"There's a monster outside!

0:48:42 > 0:48:47"It has huge, twisted horns, and it's making shadows on my wall.

0:48:47 > 0:48:50"Can I come and sleep in your bed?"

0:48:50 > 0:48:53"There's no such thing as monsters," cried Bear.

0:48:53 > 0:48:57But he let Young Bear climb into the bed, where he snuggled up

0:48:57 > 0:49:00warm and safe.

0:49:00 > 0:49:02Now Bear was wide awake.

0:49:02 > 0:49:05He listened to the wind howling, and the thunder crashing.

0:49:05 > 0:49:09He watched the lightning fork and flash!

0:49:09 > 0:49:11"Young Bear's right," he thought.

0:49:11 > 0:49:15"These shadows on the wall do look like monster horns."

0:49:15 > 0:49:19And he pulled the bed covers right over his head.

0:49:19 > 0:49:23Suddenly, there was a rat-tat-tat at the door.

0:49:23 > 0:49:28Everyone woke at once. "Who, who, who can that be?" said Bear.

0:49:28 > 0:49:32"It's probably nothing at all," said Mrs Bear.

0:49:32 > 0:49:37"Go and see," and she gave Bear a little push.

0:49:37 > 0:49:39Bear climbed nervously out of bed.

0:49:39 > 0:49:44He picked up a candle t-t-t-to light his way and padded slowly,

0:49:44 > 0:49:45ever so slowly to the door.

0:49:45 > 0:49:49"You're all such scaredy-bears," he said to the others.

0:49:49 > 0:49:54"There's no such thing as m-m-m-m-monsters!"

0:49:54 > 0:49:57As he turned the handle, the wind blew the door open,

0:49:57 > 0:50:01the candle went out, and everything was black as black.

0:50:01 > 0:50:03Then the lightning flashed!

0:50:05 > 0:50:08"The monster!" shouted Bear.

0:50:08 > 0:50:12He jumped back in fright, and dived straight under the bed.

0:50:12 > 0:50:15"It's not a monster, it's a moose,"

0:50:15 > 0:50:18said Moose, stepping through the doorway.

0:50:18 > 0:50:21"The storm has blown my house away.

0:50:21 > 0:50:23"Can I sleep in yours?"

0:50:23 > 0:50:25Bear peered out from under the bed.

0:50:25 > 0:50:31Baby Bear and Little Bear and Young Bear laughed and laughed

0:50:31 > 0:50:36and laughed. "What a scaredy-bear you are," they said.

0:50:36 > 0:50:41"Don't you know? There's no such thing as monsters!"

0:50:41 > 0:50:46And our story was called The Bears In The Bed And The Great Big Storm.

0:50:46 > 0:50:51What silly bears they are, to think that a storm was a monster!

0:50:51 > 0:50:54Snuggle down now, because it's time to go to sleep.
