0:29:06 > 0:29:09Hello, I'm Grandpa.

0:29:09 > 0:29:16I was just having a cup of tea, and it reminded me of a story.

0:29:16 > 0:29:21It's called A Friend For Little Bear and it's written by Harry Horse.

0:29:23 > 0:29:27Little Bear lived all alone on a desert island.

0:29:27 > 0:29:30"I wish I had something to play with," he said.

0:29:32 > 0:29:37A stick came floating by. Little Bear picked it out of the sea.

0:29:37 > 0:29:42He drew a picture in the sand. Then he drew some more.

0:29:42 > 0:29:45"I need something else to play with," he said.

0:29:45 > 0:29:48He was tired of drawing pictures.

0:29:48 > 0:29:54A bottle came floating by. Little Bear picked it out of the sea.

0:29:54 > 0:30:00He filled it up with water and poured out the water on the sand.

0:30:00 > 0:30:05"I need a cup," said Little Bear, "to pour the water into."

0:30:05 > 0:30:08Then something spotted came floating by.

0:30:10 > 0:30:14Little Bear wondered what it was. "It isn't a cup," he said.

0:30:15 > 0:30:20But he pulled it out of the sea anyway. It was a wooden horse.

0:30:20 > 0:30:25The wooden horse ran around the island. Little Bear ran after him.

0:30:25 > 0:30:28The wooden horse hid. Little Bear looked for him.

0:30:28 > 0:30:32They had a lovely time. They drew pictures in the sand

0:30:32 > 0:30:35and filled the bottle again and again.

0:30:35 > 0:30:38They played all day long

0:30:38 > 0:30:41and then went to sleep under the tall palm tree.

0:30:42 > 0:30:46Little Bear woke up. He rubbed his eyes.

0:30:46 > 0:30:51"Look," he cried, "lots of things floating in the water."

0:30:51 > 0:30:56He stretched with his stick and pulled out as many as he could.

0:30:56 > 0:30:59"I don't know what these things are," he said,

0:30:59 > 0:31:02"but I need them all the same." He piled them into a heap.

0:31:03 > 0:31:09Then he sighed. "I still do wish I had a cup."

0:31:11 > 0:31:15There wasn't much room on the island now. Little Bear had filled it up.

0:31:15 > 0:31:18He told the wooden horse to get out of the way.

0:31:18 > 0:31:23"Climb onto that," said Little Bear, "I need more room for these boxes."

0:31:24 > 0:31:27"Look," cried Little Bear, "a cup!"

0:31:27 > 0:31:30Snap! The roof broke.

0:31:30 > 0:31:34The wooden horse fell into the sea and floated away.

0:31:34 > 0:31:38Little Bear was filling his bottle with water

0:31:38 > 0:31:40and pouring the water into his cup.

0:31:40 > 0:31:45"Watch me," he cried. He filled up the bottle again. "Watch me!"

0:31:45 > 0:31:52But no-one was there. He looked up. He put the bottle down.

0:31:52 > 0:31:55He walked all round the island.

0:31:55 > 0:31:58"Where are you?" he called, "I need you!"

0:32:00 > 0:32:02But no-one answered.

0:32:02 > 0:32:08"I need my friend," said Little Bear. "I don't need that cup."

0:32:08 > 0:32:14He threw all his things back into the sea and they floated away.

0:32:14 > 0:32:18He sat underneath the tall palm tree and began to cry.

0:32:21 > 0:32:23Little Bear dried his eyes.

0:32:23 > 0:32:28Then he rubbed them. Something spotted was floating by.

0:32:28 > 0:32:32He ran and pulled it out of the sea.

0:32:32 > 0:32:35"I only need you, wooden horse," he said.

0:32:35 > 0:32:39And the two of them danced for joy on the sand.

0:32:42 > 0:32:45That story was called A Friend For Little Bear.

0:32:45 > 0:32:48I hope you enjoyed it.

0:32:48 > 0:32:53I don't know about you, but I think I'll go and have a little lie-down.
