0:00:07 > 0:00:08Hello. I'm Maxine.

0:00:10 > 0:00:14Have you ever wished that you were a prince or a princess?

0:00:14 > 0:00:16You have?

0:00:16 > 0:00:22Me too. There's a prince and a princess in tonight's Bedtime Story.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25But I'm not sure you'll want to be like them.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28This story is called The Worst Princess

0:00:28 > 0:00:31and it's by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Once upon a time, in a tower near you,

0:00:36 > 0:00:41lived a lonely princess - the Princess Sue.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44"Someday," she sighed, "my prince will come.

0:00:44 > 0:00:48"But I wish he'd move his royal bum.

0:00:48 > 0:00:54"I have waited for 100 years, I am getting stiff. I am bored to tears.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57"I have read the books, I know the score.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00"I've grown my plaits down to the floor.

0:01:00 > 0:01:05"I really need to get some air, to see the world and cut my hair."

0:01:05 > 0:01:09Then, just as Sue was about to scream,

0:01:09 > 0:01:13a prince appeared, just like a dream.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15"Oh, Princess, pretty as a pea,

0:01:15 > 0:01:18"I have journeyed far to rescue thee.

0:01:18 > 0:01:22"I fought, I won, I shocked, I awed.

0:01:22 > 0:01:27"You should have seen me swing my sword.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29"I have slain all kinds of vicious foe."

0:01:29 > 0:01:32"That's fab," said Sue. "Now can we go?

0:01:32 > 0:01:35"Your true love's kiss should do the trick

0:01:35 > 0:01:38"so pucker up and kiss me quick."

0:01:38 > 0:01:41They charged off on their dashing steed.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44"Whoopee!" cried Sue. "At last I'm freed.

0:01:44 > 0:01:50"Today I start my happy end." But then she saw around the bend.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53"Where are we going, my prince, my love?"

0:01:53 > 0:01:56"Back to my castle, turtle dove.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59"My perfect peach, my precious flower,

0:01:59 > 0:02:03"you have a penthouse in the tower."

0:02:03 > 0:02:08"I'd rather ride a horse," said Sue, "and do all kinds of fun stuff too."

0:02:08 > 0:02:11"Too bad," said Prince, "you know the rules.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13"Didn't you listen at Princess School?

0:02:13 > 0:02:19"It's me who wears the armour here and you wear dresses, are we clear?

0:02:19 > 0:02:23"Just smile a lot and twist your curls,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26"dragon bashing is not for girls."

0:02:26 > 0:02:30Alone in the tower, Sue started to spit.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33"What a disaster, my prince is a twit."

0:02:33 > 0:02:37Then in the skies she suddenly spied

0:02:37 > 0:02:39a fearsome dragon with flashing eyes.

0:02:41 > 0:02:47Sue didn't run, she had no fear. Instead she had a bright idea.

0:02:47 > 0:02:51"Hey, you," she called, "with your scary claws,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53"fancy some tea for your fiery jaws?"

0:02:53 > 0:02:57"Oh, yes!" said Dragon, "What a relief.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00"That pesky prince is giving me grief."

0:03:00 > 0:03:04"Me too," said Sue, "the sneaky rascal

0:03:04 > 0:03:07"has locked me up in his stupid castle."

0:03:07 > 0:03:11"The rotter," gasped Dragon, "that just won't do.

0:03:11 > 0:03:15"We need to teach him a thing or two."

0:03:15 > 0:03:18The dragon sniffed some nasal spray.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23And then he blew the tower clean away.

0:03:24 > 0:03:28"Princess Sue, that's quite enough!"

0:03:28 > 0:03:31The prince was back and in a huff.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34"Where is your tower? Just look at your dress.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37"You really are the worst princess.

0:03:37 > 0:03:41"Also, Susan, beg your pardon, why is there a dragon in my garden?"

0:03:43 > 0:03:48"Perhaps I am the worst princess," laughed Princess Sue.

0:03:48 > 0:03:52"My hair is a mess, my tower's a wreck but I don't care.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55"I've booked a flight with Dragon Air."

0:03:56 > 0:04:00The dragon sniffed then with two snorts,

0:04:00 > 0:04:02set alight the princely shorts.

0:04:02 > 0:04:03Ow!

0:04:05 > 0:04:09From that day on, the new-found friends

0:04:09 > 0:04:12toured the land from end to end,

0:04:12 > 0:04:14making mischief left and right

0:04:14 > 0:04:17for royal twits and naughty knights.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20"You know," said Sue, as they drank their tea,

0:04:20 > 0:04:24"we're a great team, you and me."

0:04:24 > 0:04:27The dragon's belly shook with laughter

0:04:27 > 0:04:31and they both lived happily ever after.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36And that story was called The Worst Princess.

0:04:37 > 0:04:41Now it's time to dream about being a prince or a princess.

0:04:41 > 0:04:45And I hope I will see you very soon for another Bedtime Story.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48Night-night.
