1:14:09 > 1:14:12Would you like to come on a bedtime adventure with me

1:14:12 > 1:14:14all the way into space?

1:14:14 > 1:14:16You would? Great.

1:14:16 > 1:14:19You'd better put your space helmets on.

1:14:19 > 1:14:22Tonight's story is called My Sister Is An Alien

1:14:22 > 1:14:24and it's by Rachel Bright.

1:14:24 > 1:14:27This is Alfie.

1:14:27 > 1:14:29His favourite things are

1:14:29 > 1:14:31one - aliens,

1:14:31 > 1:14:32two - rockets,

1:14:32 > 1:14:35three - the moon,

1:14:35 > 1:14:37in that exact order.

1:14:37 > 1:14:40He lives in a house with one mummy, one daddy

1:14:40 > 1:14:44and a brand-new sister called Ruby.

1:14:44 > 1:14:47Mummy talked a lot about Ruby.

1:14:47 > 1:14:53"Oh, Alfie, isn't she lovely? Mummy and Daddy are over the moon."

1:14:53 > 1:14:57But Alfie was thinking about aliens and all he heard was,

1:14:57 > 1:14:59"Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, moon."

1:14:59 > 1:15:02Daddy talked a lot about Ruby, too.

1:15:02 > 1:15:07"Oh, Alfie, isn't she lovely? We must make some space for her."

1:15:07 > 1:15:11But Alfie was busy drawing an astronaut and all he heard was,

1:15:11 > 1:15:15"Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, space."

1:15:15 > 1:15:17And that was when Alfie realised,

1:15:17 > 1:15:21"My sister is an alien from the moon!"

1:15:21 > 1:15:23She looked like an alien.

1:15:23 > 1:15:27She sounded like an alien.

1:15:27 > 1:15:30She definitely smelt like an alien.

1:15:30 > 1:15:33And she often cried for home.

1:15:33 > 1:15:37So Alfie decided he must get Ruby back to the moon where she belonged.

1:15:37 > 1:15:42And he had just the thing to get her there - his rocket!

1:15:42 > 1:15:45Alfie spent a long time making it nice

1:15:45 > 1:15:48so Ruby would have a lovely journey home.

1:15:48 > 1:15:52He found some space snacks in case Ruby was hungry on the way.

1:15:52 > 1:15:55There was just enough time to dress in their space suits.

1:15:55 > 1:15:59Then, at last, they were ready to go.

1:15:59 > 1:16:01Alfie climbed into the rocket with Ruby -

1:16:01 > 1:16:05well, somebody responsible needed to drive -

1:16:05 > 1:16:07and he began the countdown.

1:16:07 > 1:16:11"Three, two, one, lift off!"

1:16:13 > 1:16:16Alfie and Ruby soared through the air, over the tree tops

1:16:16 > 1:16:18and into the starry darkness.

1:16:18 > 1:16:23They flew and flew towards the moon and, after not too long,

1:16:23 > 1:16:26they made a very soft landing.

1:16:26 > 1:16:28The moon was an amazing place.

1:16:28 > 1:16:31Ruby looked very happy and the aliens were

1:16:31 > 1:16:34even more friendly than Alfie thought they would be.

1:16:34 > 1:16:38They played and played all night long until Alfie got sleepy

1:16:38 > 1:16:42and said, "Ruby, I'd better go home now."

1:16:44 > 1:16:48But when he climbed into the rocket, he suddenly felt very sad.

1:16:48 > 1:16:53"Ruby," he said, "Do you think you might come back to earth with me

1:16:53 > 1:16:56"for just a little bit longer?"

1:16:56 > 1:16:57And Ruby said,

1:16:57 > 1:17:01"Goo!"

1:17:01 > 1:17:03So away they flew.

1:17:03 > 1:17:05Back across the starry darkness,

1:17:05 > 1:17:08over the tree tops and all the way home.

1:17:10 > 1:17:13That night, Ruby slept in Alfie's bed.

1:17:13 > 1:17:18"Night, night, Ruby," whispered Alfie as they snuggled up together.

1:17:18 > 1:17:20And Ruby gurgled,

1:17:20 > 1:17:21"Goo!"

1:17:23 > 1:17:25Now, Alfie's favourite things are

1:17:25 > 1:17:27one - Ruby,

1:17:27 > 1:17:29two - aliens,

1:17:29 > 1:17:31three - rockets,

1:17:31 > 1:17:32four - the moon,

1:17:32 > 1:17:34in that exact order.

1:17:35 > 1:17:38That story was called My Sister Is An Alien.

1:17:38 > 1:17:41What a fantastic adventure Alfie and Ruby went on.

1:17:41 > 1:17:45I'm glad Alfie found out how much he loves his baby sister.

1:17:45 > 1:17:49You'd better take off your space helmet and get ready for bed.

1:17:49 > 1:17:52Perhaps you'll dream about visiting the moon. Hm.

1:17:52 > 1:17:55Sleep tight and I'll see you again soon for another bedtime story.
