0:00:09 > 0:00:12And now, I just need my pink crayon.
0:00:12 > 0:00:15Hmm... Where's my pink crayon?
0:00:16 > 0:00:19Oh, hello. I'm Angellica.
0:00:19 > 0:00:21Have you seen my pink crayon?
0:00:21 > 0:00:23I think I've lost it.
0:00:23 > 0:00:25You haven't? Oh...
0:00:25 > 0:00:29Well, I'll look for it in a minute, because right now,
0:00:29 > 0:00:32it's time for me to read you a bedtime story.
0:00:32 > 0:00:34Are you ready?
0:00:34 > 0:00:37The story is called Milo And The Moon Kangaroo
0:00:37 > 0:00:38and it's by Dan Taylor.
0:00:40 > 0:00:44It was way past bedtime, and an imaginative Milo Montgomery
0:00:44 > 0:00:46was busy doodling instead of sleeping.
0:00:46 > 0:00:50He was just about to colour in a dinosaur attacking a skyscraper
0:00:50 > 0:00:53when... Oh, no!
0:00:53 > 0:00:58..he noticed that his favourite green crayon was missing.
0:00:58 > 0:01:01Milo thought hard about where it could be.
0:01:01 > 0:01:03Then he remembered.
0:01:03 > 0:01:07That afternoon, he had been using his crayons in the garden.
0:01:07 > 0:01:11Milo rushed to his bedroom window and peered into the garden below.
0:01:11 > 0:01:14- Meow!- There, glistening in the moonlight,
0:01:14 > 0:01:15was a green crayon trail.
0:01:15 > 0:01:17Milo raced downstairs.
0:01:17 > 0:01:21He followed the trail along the garden path,
0:01:21 > 0:01:24through the garden gate, down Mortimer Street,
0:01:24 > 0:01:25through the park
0:01:25 > 0:01:29and straight into a jungle.
0:01:29 > 0:01:32"Have you seen my favourite green crayon?" asked Milo
0:01:32 > 0:01:36as he swung through the vines with a bunch of mischievous monkeys.
0:01:36 > 0:01:39But nobody had.
0:01:39 > 0:01:41So Milo swung higher and higher,
0:01:41 > 0:01:45right onto a pirate ship.
0:01:45 > 0:01:48Carefully, Milo climbed down the rope ladder
0:01:48 > 0:01:51and came face-to-face with Captain Whiskers
0:01:51 > 0:01:53and his crew of pirate kittens.
0:01:53 > 0:01:57"Have you seen my favourite green crayon?" asked Milo,
0:01:57 > 0:02:00as they bobbed over the waves, searching for treasure
0:02:00 > 0:02:02But nobody had.
0:02:02 > 0:02:06So Milo climbed into a rowing boat and headed for shore.
0:02:06 > 0:02:08He tied up his boat.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10Then he followed the trail further
0:02:10 > 0:02:13and further...and further
0:02:13 > 0:02:17until he was right in the middle of a desert.
0:02:17 > 0:02:22Milo looked around, but there wasn't a trace of crayon in sight.
0:02:22 > 0:02:26He was all alone, well and truly lost.
0:02:26 > 0:02:31With tears in his eyes, Milo looked up into the night sky, and there,
0:02:31 > 0:02:34to his amazement, was the trail!
0:02:34 > 0:02:39Each sparkly star was connected like a giant join-the-dots puzzle.
0:02:39 > 0:02:44"But I'll never get up there," sighed Milo sadly.
0:02:44 > 0:02:48"Don't be so sure about that," said a voice.
0:02:48 > 0:02:51Milo turned around, and out of nowhere,
0:02:51 > 0:02:53a rocket had appeared.
0:02:53 > 0:02:57"Come on! Jump in," called the pilot.
0:02:57 > 0:03:00Milo couldn't believe his eyes.
0:03:00 > 0:03:03He hurried inside and fastened his seat belt.
0:03:03 > 0:03:07"Three, two, one...blast off!"
0:03:09 > 0:03:13Suddenly, Milo was zooming through clouds and space dust,
0:03:13 > 0:03:15past stars and planets,
0:03:15 > 0:03:17all the way to the moon.
0:03:19 > 0:03:22Milo bounced over moon rocks and around craters,
0:03:22 > 0:03:25until he reached a moon cave.
0:03:25 > 0:03:29And that was when he spotted the crayon trail culprit.
0:03:29 > 0:03:32"What are you doing with my favourite green crayon?
0:03:32 > 0:03:35"And who are you anyway?"
0:03:35 > 0:03:38"I am a moon kangaroo," replied the creature.
0:03:38 > 0:03:42"And it's not your crayon, it's mine. I found it.
0:03:42 > 0:03:44"Come on, I'll show you."
0:03:45 > 0:03:51The moon kangaroo took Milo to a huge crater filled with toys.
0:03:51 > 0:03:56"Every toy that gets lost on Earth ends up here," she explained.
0:03:56 > 0:03:59Milo had never seen so many toys before!
0:03:59 > 0:04:02"Can we play with them?" he asked.
0:04:02 > 0:04:06Milo and the moon kangaroo played for hours.
0:04:08 > 0:04:12They doodled and coloured using Milo's crayons.
0:04:12 > 0:04:15And they became the best of friends.
0:04:15 > 0:04:20But, before long, it was time for Milo to go home.
0:04:20 > 0:04:25"Can I have my green crayon back now?" he asked.
0:04:25 > 0:04:29The moon kangaroo looked sad, and Milo felt mean,
0:04:29 > 0:04:32because he knew how much she liked to doodle.
0:04:32 > 0:04:34Then he had an idea.
0:04:34 > 0:04:37"You can have my pink crayon instead."
0:04:37 > 0:04:40The moon kangaroo bounced with happiness.
0:04:40 > 0:04:43Pink was her favourite colour!
0:04:43 > 0:04:46Sadly, Milo said goodbye to his new friend.
0:04:46 > 0:04:50Then he followed the trail all the way home.
0:04:50 > 0:04:53Later that night, Milo awoke in his cosy bed.
0:04:53 > 0:04:56"Mmm...
0:04:56 > 0:05:00"it must have all been a dream," he smiled.
0:05:00 > 0:05:03But when he looked inside his crayon box,
0:05:03 > 0:05:06there was his green crayon
0:05:06 > 0:05:10and an empty space where the pink crayon should have been.
0:05:12 > 0:05:15Could it really have been one big night-time adventure?
0:05:17 > 0:05:19"Thank you, Milo."
0:05:20 > 0:05:24That story was called Milo And The Moon Kangaroo.
0:05:24 > 0:05:28Maybe that's where my missing crayon has gone!
0:05:28 > 0:05:30The moon kangaroo must have it.
0:05:30 > 0:05:33Well, as long as she's using it, I suppose that's all right.
0:05:33 > 0:05:36Now, I hope you put all of your toys safely away,
0:05:36 > 0:05:38because it's your bedtime now.
0:05:38 > 0:05:40So off you go to get tucked up.
0:05:40 > 0:05:44I'll see you soon for another bedtime story. Sleep tight.
