0:26:12 > 0:26:15I've had a great day, and it started this morning

0:26:15 > 0:26:19when I had a lovely breakfast of porridge and honey.

0:26:19 > 0:26:23My breakfast reminded me of one of my favourite stories.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25Would you like to hear it?

0:26:25 > 0:26:29Tonight's bedtime story is called The Magic Porridge Pot,

0:26:29 > 0:26:33by the Brothers Grimm, illustrated by Mike and Carl Gordon.

0:26:34 > 0:26:40This is a story about hungry Hannah, an old woman, a greedy boy,

0:26:40 > 0:26:44a magic pot, and a LOT of porridge.

0:26:45 > 0:26:48Hannah never had enough to eat.

0:26:48 > 0:26:52But when she had some food, she always shared it.

0:26:53 > 0:26:56One day, Hannah found some honey in the forest.

0:26:56 > 0:26:59Then she saw an old woman.

0:26:59 > 0:27:01The woman was carrying an empty pot.

0:27:02 > 0:27:06"Would you like some honey?" asked Hannah.

0:27:06 > 0:27:09"Yes, please," said the old woman.

0:27:09 > 0:27:13And she thought, one good turn deserves another.

0:27:13 > 0:27:15"Would you like some porridge?"

0:27:17 > 0:27:20"I'd love some porridge," said Hannah,

0:27:20 > 0:27:23"but your pot is empty."

0:27:23 > 0:27:26The woman smiled.

0:27:26 > 0:27:28"That doesn't matter," she said.

0:27:28 > 0:27:32"You just need to know the magic words.

0:27:32 > 0:27:35"Cook, pot, cook!"

0:27:35 > 0:27:39Hot porridge filled the pot.

0:27:39 > 0:27:42"Stop, pot, stop!"

0:27:42 > 0:27:44And it stopped.

0:27:44 > 0:27:49Hannah and the woman ate a delicious meal of porridge and honey.

0:27:51 > 0:27:53"You can keep the pot," said the woman.

0:27:53 > 0:27:56"Thank you!" said Hannah.

0:27:56 > 0:28:01"Remember the magic words, and you will never be hungry again."

0:28:02 > 0:28:03From then on,

0:28:09 > 0:28:12and porridge for dinner.

0:28:12 > 0:28:19One evening, a greedy boy smelled the porridge.

0:28:19 > 0:28:21"What's that?" he thought.

0:28:21 > 0:28:26He followed his nose to Hannah's cottage.

0:28:26 > 0:28:29He saw the pot start to fill with porridge.

0:28:29 > 0:28:33And Hannah said, "Cook, pot, cook!"

0:28:33 > 0:28:35But he didn't see it stop.

0:28:36 > 0:28:38The greedy boy said,

0:28:38 > 0:28:39"I want that pot!"

0:28:40 > 0:28:44The boy waited until Hannah went to bed.

0:28:44 > 0:28:46Then he crept in,

0:28:46 > 0:28:48stole the pot, and ran home.

0:28:49 > 0:28:53He couldn't wait to say the magic words.

0:28:53 > 0:28:55"Cook, pot, cook!"

0:28:55 > 0:28:59Steaming porridge filled the pot.

0:28:59 > 0:29:02Porridge dripped over the sides.

0:29:02 > 0:29:05"Stop!" cried the boy.

0:29:05 > 0:29:08But the pot didn't stop.

0:29:08 > 0:29:10"Uh-oh..."

0:29:10 > 0:29:13Porridge poured onto the floor.

0:29:13 > 0:29:17"Stop!" cried the boy.

0:29:17 > 0:29:19But the pot didn't stop.

0:29:19 > 0:29:21Porridge filled the room.

0:29:21 > 0:29:24"Stop!" cried the boy.

0:29:24 > 0:29:26But the pot didn't stop.

0:29:26 > 0:29:30The boy ran outside. "Stop!" cried the boy.

0:29:30 > 0:29:32"I'll drown in porridge!"

0:29:32 > 0:29:35But the pot didn't stop.

0:29:35 > 0:29:38In her bedroom, Hannah sniffed.

0:29:38 > 0:29:40SHE SNIFFS

0:29:40 > 0:29:44"I smell porridge," she thought.

0:29:44 > 0:29:48She ran outside. Porridge was pouring down the street.

0:29:54 > 0:29:56"Stop, pot, stop!"

0:29:56 > 0:30:00And at last, the pot stopped.

0:30:00 > 0:30:02The greedy boy was saved.
