0:32:06 > 0:32:11Hello. My name's Ben, and I'm just giving Teddy a big hug,
0:32:11 > 0:32:14cos I love big hugs, do you?
0:32:14 > 0:32:17Tonight's Bedtime Story is all about two little hedgehogs
0:32:17 > 0:32:19who love to hug, but they can't.
0:32:19 > 0:32:22So would you like to find out what happens?
0:32:22 > 0:32:23Good.
0:32:23 > 0:32:28Well, the story is called Hedgehugs by Lucy Tapper and Steve Wilson.
0:32:29 > 0:32:33Horace and Hattie are the very best of friends.
0:32:33 > 0:32:36There are so many things they like to do together.
0:32:38 > 0:32:41They like to search for four-leafed clover in the meadow.
0:32:42 > 0:32:47They like to make daisy chains in the shade of the old oak tree.
0:32:47 > 0:32:49They like to splash in the puddles on the lawn.
0:32:51 > 0:32:54And sometimes they like to have a tea party by the river.
0:32:57 > 0:32:59When Horace is busy, Hattie puts on her tutu
0:32:59 > 0:33:02and dances in the bluebells.
0:33:02 > 0:33:06When Hattie is busy, Horace searches for spiders in the woods.
0:33:09 > 0:33:13Horace and Hattie are the very best of friends.
0:33:13 > 0:33:17But there's one thing that they cannot do together.
0:33:17 > 0:33:19They cannot hug.
0:33:20 > 0:33:22They are just too spiky!
0:33:23 > 0:33:26They've tried lots of ways to hug.
0:33:26 > 0:33:28In winter, they rolled in the snow
0:33:28 > 0:33:30until it covered all their prickles,
0:33:30 > 0:33:32but the hug was too cold.
0:33:34 > 0:33:38In spring, they found some old hollow logs.
0:33:38 > 0:33:43Horace and Hattie squeezed inside, but the hug was too bumpy.
0:33:45 > 0:33:48In summer, they stuck strawberries on their spikes,
0:33:48 > 0:33:51but the hug was too sticky.
0:33:53 > 0:33:58In autumn, they covered their prickles in crunchy, crispy leaves.
0:33:58 > 0:34:00But the hug was too scratchy.
0:34:02 > 0:34:03Poor Horace and Hattie.
0:34:05 > 0:34:09Then one day, they found something very interesting.
0:34:09 > 0:34:12It was very soft. Was it a hat?
0:34:12 > 0:34:15Horace decided to investigate.
0:34:15 > 0:34:20He wriggled and jiggled and nibbled.
0:34:20 > 0:34:22Then out he popped!
0:34:24 > 0:34:27Hattie thought Horace looked very funny.
0:34:27 > 0:34:29Then she had an amazing idea.
0:34:31 > 0:34:35Hattie looked at Horace. Horace looked at Hattie.
0:34:37 > 0:34:41They moved closer and closer and closer until...
0:34:43 > 0:34:45..they hugged.
0:34:45 > 0:34:48The hug was just right.
0:34:48 > 0:34:51Not cold, not scratchy,
0:34:51 > 0:34:54not sticky and not bumpy.
0:34:54 > 0:34:59It was warm and soft and cuddly and comfy.
0:34:59 > 0:35:00A perfect hedgehug!
0:35:02 > 0:35:05So, when you see someone wearing odd socks,
0:35:05 > 0:35:10or next time one of your socks goes missing, you know what it means.
0:35:10 > 0:35:12A hedgehug has happened!
0:35:15 > 0:35:19And that was Hedgehugs. Aww.
0:35:19 > 0:35:22I felt really happy at the end, when the hedgehogs got to hug.
0:35:22 > 0:35:25Did you feel happy too? Yeah.
0:35:25 > 0:35:28Well, now, it's time to hug your favourite cuddly toy,
0:35:28 > 0:35:30climb under your cosy duvet
0:35:30 > 0:35:34and settle down to a peaceful night of sweet dreams, all right?
0:35:34 > 0:35:36Night-night.
