0:43:06 > 0:43:08Hello. I'm Guy.
0:43:09 > 0:43:12I'm going to read you a story about a cat
0:43:12 > 0:43:15who always seems to be getting into trouble.
0:43:15 > 0:43:18Now, are you sitting comfortably?

0:43:25 > 0:43:26and it's by Judith Kerr.
0:43:28 > 0:43:30Once there was a cat called Mog.
0:43:30 > 0:43:33She lived with a family called Thomas.
0:43:33 > 0:43:37Debbie, Mr Thomas, Mrs Thomas and Nicky.
0:43:38 > 0:43:41Mog was nice but not very clever.
0:43:41 > 0:43:44She didn't understand a lot of things.
0:43:44 > 0:43:47A lot of other things, she forgot.
0:43:47 > 0:43:49She was a very forgetful cat.
0:43:49 > 0:43:54Sometimes, she ate her supper, then she forgot that she had eaten it.
0:43:55 > 0:43:59Sometimes, she thought of something in the middle of washing her leg,
0:43:59 > 0:44:02then she forgot to wash the rest of it.
0:44:02 > 0:44:05Once, she forgot that cats can't fly.
0:44:06 > 0:44:09But most of all, she forgot her cat flap.
0:44:10 > 0:44:14The cat flap led from the kitchen into the garden.
0:44:14 > 0:44:19Mog could go out and in again. It was her own little door.
0:44:20 > 0:44:24The garden always made Mog very excited.
0:44:24 > 0:44:27She smelled all the smells, she chased the birds,
0:44:27 > 0:44:29she climbed the trees,
0:44:29 > 0:44:33she ran round and round with a big fluffed-up tail.
0:44:33 > 0:44:35And then she forgot the cat flap.
0:44:35 > 0:44:38She forgot that she had a cat flap.
0:44:38 > 0:44:40She wanted to go back into the house,
0:44:40 > 0:44:42but she couldn't remember how.
0:44:42 > 0:44:45In the end, she sat outside the kitchen window
0:44:45 > 0:44:48and meowed until someone let her in.
0:44:48 > 0:44:53Afterwards, you could always tell where she'd sat.
0:44:53 > 0:44:55This made Mr Thomas very sad.
0:44:55 > 0:44:58He said, "Bother that cat."
0:44:58 > 0:45:01But Debbie said, "She's nice."
0:45:02 > 0:45:05Once, Mog had a very bad day.
0:45:05 > 0:45:08Even the start of the day was bad.
0:45:08 > 0:45:11Mog was still asleep, then Nicky picked her up.
0:45:11 > 0:45:15He hugged her and said, "Nice kitty."
0:45:15 > 0:45:19Mog said nothing, but she was not happy.
0:45:19 > 0:45:20Then it was breakfast time.
0:45:20 > 0:45:23Mog forgot that cats have milk for breakfast.
0:45:23 > 0:45:27She forgot that cats only have eggs as a treat.
0:45:27 > 0:45:32She ate an egg for her breakfast. Mrs Thomas said, "Bother that cat!"
0:45:32 > 0:45:35Debbie said, "Nicky doesn't like eggs anyway."
0:45:36 > 0:45:41Mog looked through her cat flap. It was raining in the garden.
0:45:41 > 0:45:45Mog thought, "Perhaps the sun is shining in the street."
0:45:46 > 0:45:50When the milkman came, she ran out. The milkman shut the door.
0:45:51 > 0:45:55The sun was not shining in the street after all. It was raining.
0:45:55 > 0:45:58A big dog came down the street.
0:45:58 > 0:46:01Mog ran. The dog ran, too.
0:46:01 > 0:46:05Mog ran right round the house and the dog ran after her.
0:46:05 > 0:46:08She climbed over the fence. She ran through the garden
0:46:08 > 0:46:11and jumped up outside the kitchen window.
0:46:11 > 0:46:15She meowed a big meow, very sudden and very loud.
0:46:15 > 0:46:18Mrs Thomas said, "Bother that cat."
0:46:18 > 0:46:20Debbie said, "It wasn't her fault."
0:46:22 > 0:46:24Mog was very sleepy.
0:46:24 > 0:46:29She found a nice, warm, soft place and went to sleep.
0:46:29 > 0:46:31She had a lovely dream.
0:46:31 > 0:46:35Mog dreamed that she had wings. She could fly everywhere.
0:46:35 > 0:46:40She could fly faster than the birds, even quite big birds.
0:46:40 > 0:46:45Suddenly, she woke up. Mrs Thomas said, "Bother that cat."
0:46:45 > 0:46:49Debbie said, "I think you look nicer without a hat."
0:46:50 > 0:46:54Debbie gave Mog her supper and Mog ate it all up.
0:46:54 > 0:46:57Then Debbie and Nicky went to bed.
0:46:57 > 0:47:01Mog had a rest, too. But Mr Thomas wanted to see the fight.
0:47:01 > 0:47:03Mr Thomas said, "Bother that cat."
0:47:04 > 0:47:08Mog thought, "Nobody likes me..."

0:47:12 > 0:47:14Debbie's door was open.
0:47:14 > 0:47:16Debbie's bed was warm.
0:47:16 > 0:47:20Debbie's hair was soft, like kitten fur.
0:47:20 > 0:47:23Mog forgot that Debbie was not a kitten.
0:47:24 > 0:47:27Debbie had a dream. It was a bad dream.
0:47:27 > 0:47:30It was a dream about a tiger.
0:47:30 > 0:47:34The tiger wanted to eat Debbie. It was licking her hair.
0:47:34 > 0:47:37Debbie shouted. Mog jumped.
0:47:37 > 0:47:41Mr and Mrs Thomas said, "Bother, bother, bother that cat."
0:47:43 > 0:47:47Debbie said nothing. She was still crying because of the bad dream.
0:47:47 > 0:47:50Mog ran out of the room and right through the house
0:47:50 > 0:47:52and out of her cat flap.
0:47:52 > 0:47:53She was very sad.
0:47:55 > 0:47:57The garden was dark.

0:48:00 > 0:48:03Mog sat in the dark and thought dark thoughts.
0:48:03 > 0:48:08She thought, "Nobody likes me. They've all gone to bed.
0:48:08 > 0:48:10"There's no-one to let me in
0:48:10 > 0:48:12"and they haven't even given me my supper."
0:48:13 > 0:48:16Then she noticed something.
0:48:16 > 0:48:18The house was not quite dark.
0:48:18 > 0:48:21There was a little light moving about.
0:48:21 > 0:48:25She looked through the window and saw a man in the kitchen.
0:48:25 > 0:48:28Mog thought, "Perhaps that man will let me in.
0:48:28 > 0:48:31"Perhaps he'll give me my supper."
0:48:31 > 0:48:36She meowed her biggest meow, very sudden and very, very loud.
0:48:36 > 0:48:38The man was surprised. He dropped his bag.

0:49:06 > 0:49:12"I've seen watchdogs, but never a watchcat. She will get a medal."
0:49:12 > 0:49:15Debbie said, "I think she'd rather have an egg."
0:49:16 > 0:49:21Mog had a medal. She also had an egg every day for breakfast.
