0:12:15 > 0:12:19What, Buttons?
0:12:19 > 0:12:22Ah... Buttons would like to hear a bedtime story.

0:12:24 > 0:12:28Don't worry, Buttons, I have the perfect story.
0:12:28 > 0:12:31It's by Cressida Cowell and Neal Layton.
0:12:31 > 0:12:35And it's called Cheer Up Your Teddy Bear, Emily Brown!
0:12:35 > 0:12:40Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Emily Brown
0:12:40 > 0:12:42and old, grey rabbit called Stanley.
0:12:42 > 0:12:44One drippy, drizzly, wet weekend,
0:12:44 > 0:12:48Emily Brown and Stanley were just building a camp
0:12:48 > 0:12:52in the outback of Australia because it was too rainy outdoors,
0:12:52 > 0:12:57when there was a "plip, plop, plip, plop" noise coming from the toy box.
0:12:57 > 0:13:00"Uh-oh," said Emily Brown to Stanley.
0:13:00 > 0:13:04"I think there could be something wet in there."
0:13:04 > 0:13:05There certainly was.
0:13:05 > 0:13:07It was a very wet teddy bear,
0:13:07 > 0:13:11and she was singing a song to herself in a sad little voice,
0:13:11 > 0:13:14which went something like this:
0:13:14 > 0:13:17- HIGH VOICE:- # Poor me, poor me!
0:13:17 > 0:13:21# Poor little, sad little, wet little me!
0:13:21 > 0:13:26# I'm a lonely only bear and I'm feeling very blue. #
0:13:26 > 0:13:30"Come and have fun with us in Australia," said Emily Brown.
0:13:30 > 0:13:34"We're bound to find some bears there."
0:13:34 > 0:13:36"Thank you," said the tearful teddy bear.
0:13:36 > 0:13:40"But there are no other teddy bears. I'm the lonely, only one."
0:13:40 > 0:13:42So, Emily Brown and Stanley
0:13:42 > 0:13:48and the tearful teddy bear went out camping in the outback of Australia.
0:13:48 > 0:13:52And Emily Brown and Stanley were just as happy as could be, lighting
0:13:52 > 0:13:57campfires and spotting kangaroos and making friends with emus.
0:13:57 > 0:13:59Emily Brown was just thinking,
0:13:59 > 0:14:01"This will cheer up that tearful teddy bear,"
0:14:01 > 0:14:06when there was a "plip, plop, plip, plop" noise behind her.
0:14:06 > 0:14:10And it was the tearful teddy bear, not cheered up at all.
0:14:10 > 0:14:13- HIGH VOICE:- # Poor me, poor me!
0:14:13 > 0:14:16# Poor little, sad little, wet little me!
0:14:16 > 0:14:21# I'm a lonely only bear and I'm feeling very blue
0:14:21 > 0:14:26# I've got no teddy friends and there's nothing here to do. #
0:14:26 > 0:14:28"Oh, dear," said Emily Brown.
0:14:28 > 0:14:30"Perhaps we should do something else."
0:14:31 > 0:14:35So, Emily Brown and Stanley and the tearful teddy bear went
0:14:35 > 0:14:38walking in the wild woods of Yellowstone Park.
0:14:38 > 0:14:41Emily Brown and Stanley had a very happy time,
0:14:41 > 0:14:46spotting small bears and large bears and black bears and grizzly bears
0:14:46 > 0:14:49but absolutely no teddy bears.
0:14:49 > 0:14:52And Emily Brown was thinking, "This is a lot of fun!"
0:14:52 > 0:14:56when there was a "plip, plop, plip, plop" noise
0:14:56 > 0:15:00and it was the tearful teddy bear, gloomier than ever.
0:15:00 > 0:15:04- HIGH VOICE:- # Poor me, poor me!
0:15:04 > 0:15:07# Poor little, sad little, wet little me!
0:15:07 > 0:15:11# I'm a lonely only bear and I'm feeling very blue
0:15:11 > 0:15:16# I've got no teddy friends and there's nothing here to do
0:15:16 > 0:15:21# I'm bored and it's raining and raining is no fun. #
0:15:21 > 0:15:26"Oh, dear," said Emily Brown. "Maybe we should try something different."
0:15:26 > 0:15:30So, Emily Brown and Stanley and the tearful teddy bear
0:15:30 > 0:15:34packed paintbrushes and easels and arty-looking overalls
0:15:34 > 0:15:38and went to paint sunflowers in the south of France.
0:15:38 > 0:15:42And Emily Brown and Stanley had a lovely time, splashing
0:15:42 > 0:15:46swirls of glorious blue, yellow and red all over themselves.
0:15:46 > 0:15:51And Emily Brown was just thinking, "This is the funnest thing ever!"
0:15:51 > 0:15:58when there was a "plip, plop, plip, plop" noise behind her.
0:15:58 > 0:16:01And it was the tearful teddy bear, louder and sadder
0:16:01 > 0:16:04and more drippy than ever.
0:16:04 > 0:16:07- HIGH VOICE:- # Poor me, poor me!
0:16:07 > 0:16:11# Poor little, sad little, wet little me!
0:16:11 > 0:16:16# I'm a lonely only bear and I'm feeling very blue
0:16:16 > 0:16:19# I've got no teddy friends and there's nothing here to do
0:16:19 > 0:16:24# I'm bored and it's raining and raining is no fun
0:16:24 > 0:16:29# There are no other teddy bears I'm the lonely, only one. #
0:16:30 > 0:16:34And this time, her song was so sad and so loud
0:16:34 > 0:16:39and so miserable that a terrible thing happened.
0:16:39 > 0:16:42Emily Brown and Stanley began to feel quite sad too.
0:16:42 > 0:16:47And then the clouds spread and spread until they filled the sky.
0:16:47 > 0:16:51And they got bigger and blacker and drip, drip, drip, the rain
0:16:51 > 0:16:56came down and it looked like it was going to wash away the sunflowers.
0:16:59 > 0:17:03"This has gone far enough," said Emily Brown.
0:17:03 > 0:17:07She took out her red umbrella and pointed up at the sky.
0:17:07 > 0:17:10Swooosh!
0:17:10 > 0:17:13With a lovely swooshing noise, up, up, up, up, up
0:17:13 > 0:17:16went Emily Brown's beautiful red umbrella.
0:17:16 > 0:17:19"Wow!" whispered Stanley.
0:17:19 > 0:17:22Up went Emily Brown's umbrella
0:17:22 > 0:17:26and leaping out of the sunflowers came one, two, three, four,
0:17:26 > 0:17:31five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 11...
0:17:31 > 0:17:3512 little teddy bears who'd been having a picnic
0:17:35 > 0:17:38but were all in a hurry to get out of the rain.
0:17:38 > 0:17:41"I'm not the lonely, only teddy bear after all!"
0:17:41 > 0:17:43said the tearful teddy bear.
0:17:43 > 0:17:48"We've been here all the time," the teeniest teddy bear squeaked.
0:17:48 > 0:17:51"We'd really like you to join our picnic
0:17:51 > 0:17:54"but your song was so sad, we've been hiding!"
0:17:54 > 0:17:58"I think," said Emily Brown firmly, "that it could be
0:17:58 > 0:18:03"time for you to stop this sad song and start smiling again."
0:18:03 > 0:18:09"Oh, Emily Brown! Emily Brown!" wept the tearful teddy bear.
0:18:09 > 0:18:11"You see, that's the real problem.
0:18:11 > 0:18:15"Someone has sown my mouth on upside down.
0:18:15 > 0:18:17"And I'm not sure that I CAN smile!"
0:18:17 > 0:18:20"Well, why don't you try?" said Emily Brown.
0:18:20 > 0:18:23"Think of happy things and see if that works."
0:18:23 > 0:18:28So, the tearful teddy bear screwed up her teddy forehead
0:18:28 > 0:18:30and tried to smile as hard as she could.
0:18:30 > 0:18:34She thought of all the other teddy bears wanting to play with her
0:18:34 > 0:18:38and PING! The left side of her mouth worked free of the stitches
0:18:38 > 0:18:40and waved happily in the wind.
0:18:40 > 0:18:44And then she thought of the delicious picnic and PONG!
0:18:44 > 0:18:47The right side of her mouth unpicked itself
0:18:47 > 0:18:51and wriggled up words into a wibbly, wobbly smile.
0:18:51 > 0:18:53And a funny thing happened.
0:18:53 > 0:18:57When the tearful teddy bear smiled, the clouds got lighter and lighter.
0:18:57 > 0:19:02And the sun came out again. And as the last raindrop dropped - PLOP! -
0:19:02 > 0:19:05onto the cheerful, tearful teddy bear's head,
0:19:05 > 0:19:09all the little teddy bears sat down for a picnic in the sunflowers.
0:19:09 > 0:19:13But Emily Brown and Stanley went outside to play in the rain.
0:19:13 > 0:19:16And they got very, very wet!
0:19:16 > 0:19:18SPLOSH

0:19:28 > 0:19:32And I think YOU should think of happy things while you fall asleep.
0:19:32 > 0:19:34Sweet dreams.
