0:15:06 > 0:15:11He goes past one, he goes past the ladder, he goes past Teddy.

0:15:11 > 0:15:13Hello, I'm Manish.

0:15:13 > 0:15:17I know I shouldn't be playing with a football inside, Teddy. I'm sorry.

0:15:17 > 0:15:21William, in tonight's bedtime story, loves to play football

0:15:21 > 0:15:24as much as I do. He has football fever!

0:15:24 > 0:15:26Would you like to hear it?

0:15:26 > 0:15:30Well, the story's called Football Fever and it's by Alan Durant

0:15:30 > 0:15:31and Kate Leake.

0:15:31 > 0:15:34My little brother used to be normal.

0:15:34 > 0:15:38He did the normal things that little brothers do.

0:15:38 > 0:15:40He dressed up as a pirate,

0:15:40 > 0:15:44he snuggled up on the sofa and watched cartoons.

0:15:44 > 0:15:46He played games with me...

0:15:46 > 0:15:49and lost.

0:15:49 > 0:15:53Then, he caught football fever.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56I think he caught it off Dad.

0:15:56 > 0:16:00Mum says Dad's had football fever since he was a boy.

0:16:00 > 0:16:02She says there's no cure.

0:16:03 > 0:16:07My little brother doesn't have spots or a rash.

0:16:07 > 0:16:09He doesn't really look any different,

0:16:09 > 0:16:12but he acts crazy!

0:16:12 > 0:16:14He can't stop kicking things.

0:16:14 > 0:16:19He rolls up his socks and kicks them up and down the hall.

0:16:19 > 0:16:22He kicks stones along the pavement.

0:16:22 > 0:16:24He kicks balls in the garden.

0:16:24 > 0:16:27Sometimes, he kicks me.

0:16:27 > 0:16:30But he doesn't mean to.

0:16:30 > 0:16:34That's just the way it is when you've got football fever.

0:16:34 > 0:16:38All he talks about is football, football, football.

0:16:38 > 0:16:42Extra time, free kick, offside,

0:16:42 > 0:16:46red card, penalty, corner, open goal.

0:16:46 > 0:16:51"And he hits a screamer past the keeper into the roof of the net.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54"What a goal!"

0:16:54 > 0:16:58"William, you're making my head spin," says Mum.

0:16:58 > 0:17:03"He can't help it," I say. "He's got football fever!"

0:17:03 > 0:17:06Dad said, "I think it's time I took you to a club to play

0:17:06 > 0:17:11"proper football." "Yes!" shouted my little brother.

0:17:11 > 0:17:15He punched the air and put his shirt over his head.

0:17:15 > 0:17:19Last Sunday, Dad took my little brother to a football club.

0:17:19 > 0:17:21I had to go, too.

0:17:21 > 0:17:25"The fresh air will do you good," Dad said.

0:17:25 > 0:17:28There were lots of children there.

0:17:28 > 0:17:32Some were my little brother's age, some a bit older, like me.

0:17:32 > 0:17:34First, they did some training.

0:17:34 > 0:17:38They practised passing and shooting and kicking a ball

0:17:38 > 0:17:42between a line of cones. My little brother wasn't very good at this -

0:17:42 > 0:17:46he knocked most of the cones over.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49Then, the children were put into teams to play a match.

0:17:49 > 0:17:53My little brother was very excited.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55His team wore red shirts.

0:17:56 > 0:17:59My little brother ran up and down.

0:17:59 > 0:18:04He chased and he chased, but he couldn't catch up with the ball.

0:18:04 > 0:18:06But he was still grinning like crazy.

0:18:06 > 0:18:10"This is great!" he yelled.

0:18:10 > 0:18:13Then, my little brother started to kick the ball.

0:18:13 > 0:18:17But not always in the right direction.

0:18:17 > 0:18:20Once, the ball hit him...

0:18:20 > 0:18:21in the face.

0:18:22 > 0:18:26After that, he stopped running for a bit.

0:18:26 > 0:18:31But then the fever came back and he started chasing the ball again.

0:18:31 > 0:18:36At half-time, the score was 0-0. No-one had scored a goal.

0:18:36 > 0:18:40In the second half, my little brother ran about more than ever.

0:18:40 > 0:18:44The ball went up one end and then down the other

0:18:44 > 0:18:46and my little brother went with it.

0:18:46 > 0:18:49"Come on, William!" I shouted.

0:18:49 > 0:18:52I really wanted the reds to win.

0:18:52 > 0:18:56Suddenly, one of the big boys in my little brother's team got

0:18:56 > 0:18:58the ball and ran up the field.

0:18:58 > 0:19:01My little brother ran up the field behind him.

0:19:01 > 0:19:04The big boy passed the ball to my little brother,

0:19:04 > 0:19:06he was right in front of the goal.

0:19:06 > 0:19:09"Shoot!" Dad shouted.

0:19:09 > 0:19:13I wanted to shout, too, but I was too excited.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16My little brother kicked the ball...

0:19:16 > 0:19:19and fell over.

0:19:19 > 0:19:21But the ball rolled in!

0:19:21 > 0:19:23"Goal!"

0:19:24 > 0:19:28Dad and I jumped up and down and hugged each other.

0:19:28 > 0:19:33My little brother ran around the pitch, waving his hands in the air.

0:19:33 > 0:19:36It was his first goal and it was the winner!

0:19:36 > 0:19:40The Reds had won the match.

0:19:40 > 0:19:44Now, my little brother's got football fever worse than ever.

0:19:44 > 0:19:46But guess what...

0:19:46 > 0:19:50next Sunday I'm going to play at the club with him.

0:19:50 > 0:19:53Because I've got football fever, too.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58That story was called Football Fever.

0:19:58 > 0:20:01William's big sister caught it, as well. I think they'll enjoy

0:20:01 > 0:20:04playing football together, don't you?

0:20:04 > 0:20:08Maybe we can play football tomorrow, Teddy. What do you think?

0:20:08 > 0:20:11It's time now to snuggle up and go to sleep.

0:20:11 > 0:20:14Sweet dreams. Night-night.
