0:00:06 > 0:00:07Hello.
0:00:07 > 0:00:09My name's Shaun.
0:00:09 > 0:00:13And tonight's bedtime story is one of my favourites.
0:00:13 > 0:00:15Would you like to hear it?
0:00:15 > 0:00:16Great!
0:00:16 > 0:00:22It's called Sir Lilypad - A Tall Tale Of A Small Frog.
0:00:22 > 0:00:25It's by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie.
0:00:26 > 0:00:30Once upon a time in a deep, dark bog
0:00:30 > 0:00:34lived a teeny tiny speckled frog.
0:00:34 > 0:00:39His brothers called him Little Tad, but he preferred...
0:00:39 > 0:00:41Sir Lilypad!
0:00:41 > 0:00:44Sir Lilypad, the proud and free -
0:00:44 > 0:00:47a knight in slimy armour, he.
0:00:47 > 0:00:49Sir Lilypad the brave and wise,
0:00:49 > 0:00:53slayer of the dragonflies.
0:00:53 > 0:00:55But no-one takes you seriously
0:00:55 > 0:00:58when you're not much bigger than a pea.
0:01:02 > 0:01:04And so, Sir Lily wished and longed
0:01:04 > 0:01:08to grow up big and tall and strong.
0:01:08 > 0:01:12Then, one night, tucked in his nook,
0:01:12 > 0:01:15he read the most terrific book.
0:01:15 > 0:01:19Frog to prince, with one small kiss
0:01:19 > 0:01:22From a grateful royal miss?
0:01:22 > 0:01:26Sir Lily scratched his speckled head -
0:01:26 > 0:01:30"I'd never thought of that!", he said.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32"If I could save a princess true,
0:01:32 > 0:01:35"I'd surely grow a foot or two!"
0:01:36 > 0:01:40Next morning, feeling tough and brave,
0:01:40 > 0:01:43he hopped off to the local cave,
0:01:43 > 0:01:46and found an ogre, vast and green,
0:01:46 > 0:01:49a-watering his runner beans.
0:01:49 > 0:01:51"Halt, foul ogre!
0:01:51 > 0:01:53"Where's the dame?",
0:01:53 > 0:01:56croaked Sir Lily, eyes aflame.
0:01:56 > 0:02:00The ogre shook his massive head.
0:02:00 > 0:02:03"I'm far too old for that," he said.
0:02:03 > 0:02:07"And you're too small, don't you agree,
0:02:07 > 0:02:10"for bashing giant folk like me?"
0:02:10 > 0:02:13"You should be getting home, my dear.
0:02:13 > 0:02:16"Does your mummy know you're here?"
0:02:16 > 0:02:19Sir Lily blushed from tip to toe -
0:02:19 > 0:02:22but was he beaten? Heavens, no!
0:02:22 > 0:02:25And so he searched the bolted towers,
0:02:25 > 0:02:28the forest and the field of flowers,
0:02:28 > 0:02:30the witch's house
0:02:30 > 0:02:32and the wizard's tree.
0:02:32 > 0:02:34But every one was princess-free!
0:02:35 > 0:02:37By now, Sir Lily had a stitch.
0:02:37 > 0:02:41His chainmail pants began to itch.
0:02:41 > 0:02:44His sandwiches were getting soggy -
0:02:44 > 0:02:47oh, what a wretched little froggy!
0:02:47 > 0:02:51But wait a sec - what's that over there?
0:02:51 > 0:02:54A sudden glimpse of flowing hair!
0:02:54 > 0:02:56Sparkling eyes and cherry lips,
0:02:56 > 0:02:59a broadsword slung around the hips.
0:02:59 > 0:03:02Still, never mind, a fair princess -
0:03:02 > 0:03:05and in a dragon's grip, no less!
0:03:05 > 0:03:08Sir Lily gave a mighty croak
0:03:08 > 0:03:11and charged right through the dragon's smoke.
0:03:11 > 0:03:13"Release that maiden fair!",
0:03:13 > 0:03:18He roared, then poked him with his wooden sword.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20"I say," said Dragon, "Do you mind?
0:03:20 > 0:03:24"It's rude to creep up from behind!"
0:03:24 > 0:03:26But Sir Lily, undeterred,
0:03:26 > 0:03:29pretended that he hadn't heard.
0:03:29 > 0:03:32"Now flee back to your darkened den,
0:03:32 > 0:03:35"or else I'll poke you once again!"
0:03:35 > 0:03:38"Slow down, Froggy!", laughed the lady,
0:03:38 > 0:03:42"That's my friend! No need to save me.
0:03:42 > 0:03:44"And have you seen me in a fight?
0:03:44 > 0:03:47"I just don't need a noble knight."
0:03:47 > 0:03:51Brave Sir Lily turned quite pale.
0:03:51 > 0:03:55Then suddenly, began to wail!
0:03:55 > 0:03:58"But now I'll be forever small!
0:03:58 > 0:04:01"And not a proper knight at all!
0:04:01 > 0:04:03"The other frogs will call me stuff
0:04:03 > 0:04:06"like Weedy Pants and Sugar Puff!
0:04:06 > 0:04:09"I'll always just be tiny Tad,
0:04:09 > 0:04:11"and never brave Sir Lilypad!"
0:04:11 > 0:04:15The Princess shook her head and laughed.
0:04:15 > 0:04:18"But, Lilypad, you're being daft!
0:04:18 > 0:04:20"Froglets can be heroes too.
0:04:20 > 0:04:23"Why don't you join our motley crew?"
0:04:24 > 0:04:28"Can I? Really?", Lily blinked.
0:04:28 > 0:04:31"You betcha, Froggy," Princess winked.
0:04:31 > 0:04:34"Arise, Sir Lilypad The Green.
0:04:34 > 0:04:37"Bravest frog we've ever seen."
0:04:38 > 0:04:41From that day on, our fearless knight
0:04:41 > 0:04:44forgot his under-average height.
0:04:44 > 0:04:47He sought adventure, joined the fray,
0:04:47 > 0:04:49and poked some baddies on the way.
0:04:49 > 0:04:52He cut the bullies down to size,
0:04:52 > 0:04:55stood up for all the little guys.
0:04:55 > 0:04:59Till news spread far across the land
0:04:59 > 0:05:02of Lily and his gallant band.
0:05:02 > 0:05:06And centuries later, tales were read
0:05:06 > 0:05:11to wide-eyed tadpoles, tucked in bed.
0:05:11 > 0:05:14Of all the great adventures had
0:05:14 > 0:05:18by small, but brave, Sir Lilypad.
0:05:20 > 0:05:22Hurrah for Sir Lilypad -
0:05:22 > 0:05:27our heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
0:05:27 > 0:05:29Hope you enjoyed that.
0:05:29 > 0:05:32It's bedtime now, so I'll say goodnight.
0:05:32 > 0:05:34I hope you sleep tight.
0:05:34 > 0:05:36See you again soon. Night-night.
