0:46:37 > 0:46:43Someone or something had been nibbling a hole in Kipper's toybox.

0:46:43 > 0:46:47"I hope my toys are safe," said Kipper.

0:47:06 > 0:47:09This time, he lined them up to make it easier.

0:47:23 > 0:47:27Kipper put his toys back in the toybox, then he counted them

0:47:27 > 0:47:30once more just to make sure.

0:47:30 > 0:47:34"One, two, three,

0:47:34 > 0:47:36"four, five, six,

0:47:50 > 0:47:52"One," he said, crossly.

0:47:58 > 0:48:00Out went Mr Snake. "Four!"

0:48:00 > 0:48:04Out went Slipper. "Five!"

0:48:04 > 0:48:08But where was six? Where was Sock Thing?

0:48:10 > 0:48:12Kipper was upset.

0:48:12 > 0:48:17Next to Rabbit, Sock Thing was his favourite, and now he was gone.

0:48:17 > 0:48:21"I won't lose any more of you," said Kipper.

0:48:21 > 0:48:24He picked up the rest of his toys and put them in his basket.

0:48:24 > 0:48:29Then he climbed in and kept watch until bedtime.

0:48:29 > 0:48:34That night, Kipper was woken by a strange noise.

0:48:34 > 0:48:38It was coming from the corner of the room.

0:48:38 > 0:48:41Kipper turned on the light.

0:48:41 > 0:48:44There, wriggling across the floor,

0:48:44 > 0:48:46was Sock Thing!

0:48:46 > 0:48:51It must have been Sock Thing who had been eating his toybox.

0:48:51 > 0:48:54Kipper was not sure what to do.

0:48:54 > 0:48:58None of his toys had ever come to life before.

0:48:58 > 0:49:03He jumped back in his basket and hid behind Big Owl.

0:49:03 > 0:49:07Sock Thing wriggled slowly round in a circle

0:49:07 > 0:49:09and bumped into the basket.

0:49:09 > 0:49:13Then he began to wriggle back the way he had come.

0:49:13 > 0:49:16He did not seem to know where he was going.

0:49:16 > 0:49:18Kipper followed.

0:49:20 > 0:49:24Quickly, Kipper grabbed him by the nose.

0:49:24 > 0:49:28Sock Thing squeaked and wriggled harder.

0:49:28 > 0:49:30Then a little tail appeared.

0:49:30 > 0:49:33A little, pink tail.

0:49:33 > 0:49:37And a little voice said, "Don't hurt him!"

0:49:39 > 0:49:41"So it was you!

0:49:41 > 0:49:45"You've been making the hole in my toybox," said Kipper.

0:49:45 > 0:49:47It was true.

0:49:47 > 0:49:51The mice had been nibbling pieces of Kipper's toybox

0:49:51 > 0:49:53to make their nest.

0:49:53 > 0:49:58"You must promise not to nibble it again," said Kipper.

0:49:58 > 0:50:00"We promise," said the mice.

0:50:02 > 0:50:06In return, Kipper let the mice share his basket.

0:50:06 > 0:50:10It was much cosier than a nest made of cardboard,

0:50:10 > 0:50:14and the two little mice never nibbled Kipper's toybox again.

0:50:14 > 0:50:17But their babies did.

0:50:17 > 0:50:19They nibbled EVERYTHING.

0:50:21 > 0:50:25That story was called Kipper's Toybox.

0:50:25 > 0:50:29Kipper had a few more friends than he expected, didn't he?

0:50:29 > 0:50:33But I'm sure he didn't mind sharing his cosy basket with all of them.

0:50:33 > 0:50:37Now it's time for you to get tucked up, because it's your bedtime.

0:50:37 > 0:50:41I'll see you again very soon. Night-night.
