0:00:06 > 0:00:09Hello. I'm Shaun.

0:00:09 > 0:00:13Have you tidied up your toys before bedtime? I hope you have!

0:00:13 > 0:00:17Tonight's story is about someone who likes everything to be

0:00:17 > 0:00:20clean and tidy all the time.

0:00:20 > 0:00:24The only problem is, she lives on a muddy farm.

0:00:24 > 0:00:27The story is called Love From Louisa,

0:00:27 > 0:00:29and it's written by Simon Puttock,

0:00:29 > 0:00:33with pictures by Jo Kiddie.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36Louisa the pig was not pleased.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39The farm was a mucky mess.

0:00:39 > 0:00:43"Something", said Louisa, "must be done about this!"

0:00:43 > 0:00:48So, she wrote a letter to Farmer Giles.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50"Dear Farmer Giles,

0:00:50 > 0:00:52"The farm is mucky and messy.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55"Please clean it up at once!

0:00:55 > 0:00:57"Sincerely, Disgruntled."

0:00:58 > 0:01:02Farmer Giles scratched his head.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04Who could the letter be from?

0:01:04 > 0:01:08"But whoever it is has a point," he remarked.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10I'll tidy it up a bit.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13Farmer Giles mucked out the barn,

0:01:13 > 0:01:15cleaned out the henhouse

0:01:15 > 0:01:17and then he did the pigsty, too!

0:01:17 > 0:01:21"That," he said, "ought to do it."

0:01:21 > 0:01:24But Louisa the pig was not impressed.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27"Huh", she thought.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29And she wrote another letter.

0:01:29 > 0:01:34"Dear Farmer Giles, you have not done enough.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37"Please do more. Sincerely, Disgruntled!"

0:01:39 > 0:01:42Farmer Giles was surprised.

0:01:42 > 0:01:48"Well," he said, "I suppose I could give the barn a lick of paint."

0:01:48 > 0:01:51So, the next morning, he got up bright and early

0:01:51 > 0:01:55and painted the barn a lovely shade of blue.

0:01:55 > 0:02:00Then he painted the henhouse and the pigsty, and his front door, too!

0:02:00 > 0:02:04"That's dandy," said Farmer Giles, admiring his handiwork.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08But Louisa the pig did not agree.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11And she wrote another letter.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13"Dear Farmer Giles,

0:02:13 > 0:02:17"What about the yard? It is a muddy disgrace.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19"Please do something immediately.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21"Sincerely, Disgruntled."

0:02:21 > 0:02:23Farmer Giles was confounded.

0:02:23 > 0:02:27"A barnyard's made for mud," he muttered.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31"But it does tread in.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33"I'll see what I can do."

0:02:33 > 0:02:37Next morning, Farmer Giles was up before the rooster.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39He got a great big roller

0:02:39 > 0:02:43and rolled, and rolled, and rolled the barnyard

0:02:43 > 0:02:46until it shone like chocolate icing.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49Louisa the pig just sniffed.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54"Oh...mud is such a dreary colour."

0:02:55 > 0:02:58And she wrote another letter.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00"Dear Farmer Giles,

0:03:00 > 0:03:05"The farm is now tidy, but it is also very dull.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08"Please brighten it up. The sooner, the better.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11"Sincerely, Disgruntled."

0:03:11 > 0:03:15"Whoever can Disgruntled be?" Farmer Giles wondered.

0:03:15 > 0:03:20"But a bit of colour would cheer the place up."

0:03:21 > 0:03:26So next morning, before the sun had even begun to rise,

0:03:26 > 0:03:32Farmer Giles drove into town and shopped, and shopped, and shopped.

0:03:33 > 0:03:37Then he took his shopping home and planted it.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40The farmyard looked remarkable.

0:03:40 > 0:03:44"And that," said Farmer Giles, "is that."

0:03:46 > 0:03:51But, Louisa the pig quickly wrote another note.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53"Dear Farmer Giles,

0:03:53 > 0:03:58"A good effort, but I look around and what do I see?

0:03:58 > 0:04:00"The fields could do with a trim

0:04:00 > 0:04:03"(turnips are such untidy vegetables)

0:04:03 > 0:04:07"and there are cow pats everywhere!

0:04:07 > 0:04:11"While you're at it, the sheep are in terrible need of haircuts.

0:04:11 > 0:04:13"Sincerely, Disgruntled."

0:04:13 > 0:04:17"Enough," shouted Farmer Giles, "is enough!

0:04:17 > 0:04:21"This is a farm, not a beauty parlour!"

0:04:21 > 0:04:24And he slammed the door and sat down for a sulk.

0:04:24 > 0:04:28And, while he sulked, it began to rain.

0:04:29 > 0:04:34It poured down in bucket and basket and barrel loads.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36The barnyard got churned,

0:04:36 > 0:04:40the paintwork got splattered and the flowers got rained down flat.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44"Good grief," said Farmer Giles,

0:04:44 > 0:04:47"There's going to be another horrid letter!"

0:04:47 > 0:04:50But then he had an idea.

0:04:50 > 0:04:53He got a great big piece of paper

0:04:53 > 0:04:56and wrote on it in great big letters.

0:04:56 > 0:04:58"Dear Disgruntled,

0:04:58 > 0:05:02"If you don't like it, you can jolly well clear it up yourself!

0:05:02 > 0:05:05"Yours sincerely, Farmer Giles."

0:05:05 > 0:05:08"Humph," said Louisa, sniffily,

0:05:08 > 0:05:13"If that is the way it's going to be, I shall go somewhere better!"

0:05:14 > 0:05:18She packed her writing things and hitched to the city.

0:05:18 > 0:05:23Farmer Giles watched Louisa driving down the lane.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26So that was Disgruntled!

0:05:26 > 0:05:28And she was leaving.

0:05:28 > 0:05:32"Yahoo!" cried Farmer Giles, "No more annoying letters!

0:05:32 > 0:05:34"No more daft ideas!

0:05:34 > 0:05:36"And no more Disgruntled!

0:05:36 > 0:05:38"Good riddance to bad rubbish."

0:05:39 > 0:05:41But...

0:05:41 > 0:05:47the city was smoky and smoggy and smelly.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50And Louisa wasn't pleased with it at all.

0:05:50 > 0:05:52So she wrote another letter.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54"Dear Farmer Giles,

0:05:54 > 0:05:56"The city is all very well,

0:05:56 > 0:06:00"but I'm sure you must be missing me terribly.

0:06:00 > 0:06:07"So the good news is, I'm coming home. Love from Louisa.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09"Kiss, kiss, kiss.

0:06:09 > 0:06:10"PS, see you soon."

0:06:11 > 0:06:16And the very next day, she set off back to the farm.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23Did you see what Farmer Giles left for Louisa,

0:06:23 > 0:06:25as a welcome-home present?

0:06:25 > 0:06:27It was a bucket and some soap.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31I think he'll be leaving all the cleaning and tidying up to her

0:06:31 > 0:06:33in the future.

0:06:33 > 0:06:34Right.

0:06:34 > 0:06:37Well, I'd better give this place a quick tidy.

0:06:37 > 0:06:40I would ask you to help me, but it's your bedtime.

0:06:40 > 0:06:41So off you go.

0:06:41 > 0:06:44You get tucked up, warm and cosy.

0:06:44 > 0:06:48I'll see you again very soon, for another bedtime story.
