0:07:02 > 0:07:05CBeebies Bedtime Story.
0:07:09 > 0:07:11Now, how should I start the spell?
0:07:11 > 0:07:14I... I mean letter.
0:07:14 > 0:07:17Let's see... Hmm...
0:07:17 > 0:07:18Oh, hello.
0:07:18 > 0:07:21My name's Sharon, I'm writing a spell.
0:07:21 > 0:07:25No, uh, that's not right. I'm writing a letter.
0:07:25 > 0:07:27And I'm not sure how to start it.
0:07:27 > 0:07:29Do you think you can help me?
0:07:29 > 0:07:32There is one other person who could help,
0:07:32 > 0:07:36but sometimes things don't go quite right when she's around.
0:07:36 > 0:07:40But I do know a story about her. Why don't I tell it?
0:07:40 > 0:07:48The story is by Nick Ward and it's called The Naughtiest Ever Fairy.
0:07:48 > 0:07:52High on a green hill, in a little yellow house,
0:07:52 > 0:07:55lived the Naughtiest Ever Fairy.
0:07:55 > 0:07:59After a busy morning thinking-up tricks and mixing spells,
0:07:59 > 0:08:02the Naughtiest Ever Fairy liked to nap.
0:08:02 > 0:08:07Across the valley, in a big, blue castle, lived the Very Noisy Giant.
0:08:07 > 0:08:12He spent the morning hard at work with his very noisy chores,
0:08:12 > 0:08:16but when his chores were done, the Very Noisy Giant loved to dance.
0:08:16 > 0:08:21Every afternoon, just as the Naughtiest Ever Fairy
0:08:21 > 0:08:23climbed into bed and closed her eyes,
0:08:23 > 0:08:28the Very Noisy Giant would put on his favourite noisy music,
0:08:28 > 0:08:33then he would skip and spin in his giant boots.
0:08:33 > 0:08:36"Crash! Bang! Clump!"
0:08:36 > 0:08:39It was getting harder and harder
0:08:39 > 0:08:42for the Naughtiest Ever Fairy to get any sleep.
0:08:42 > 0:08:46"Rattle! Clatter! Crash!"
0:08:46 > 0:08:49The Naughty Fairy woke with a jump.
0:08:49 > 0:08:50She had had enough!
0:08:50 > 0:08:54She couldn't get her beauty sleep and it was starting to show.
0:08:54 > 0:08:59As you can imagine, the Naughty Fairy was getting very grumpy.
0:08:59 > 0:09:02"If the giant wasn't so big," she thought,
0:09:02 > 0:09:05"he wouldn't make so much noise!"
0:09:05 > 0:09:09And that gave the fairy a naughty idea.
0:09:09 > 0:09:12Soon, it would be the giant's birthday,
0:09:12 > 0:09:15so the fairy sat down to make a special card
0:09:15 > 0:09:19and inside she wrote a very naughty spell.
0:09:19 > 0:09:21In fact, the spell was so naughty
0:09:21 > 0:09:26that I can't tell you what it said until the magic has worn off.
0:09:26 > 0:09:31"Heh! That should do the trick!" smiled the Naughty Fairy.
0:09:31 > 0:09:33And she popped it in the post box.
0:09:33 > 0:09:38On his birthday, the Noisy Giant danced down the stairs.
0:09:38 > 0:09:41Just then, a card popped through the letter box.
0:09:41 > 0:09:43"Yippee!" he cried.
0:09:43 > 0:09:46Giants don't get many birthday cards, you see.
0:09:46 > 0:09:48"Who's it from?"
0:09:48 > 0:09:51"Oh, no!" said the giant.
0:09:51 > 0:09:53"I forgot, I can't read."
0:09:53 > 0:09:58So the noisy giant went to find someone very clever who could read.
0:09:58 > 0:10:04"Ah! Could you read my card?" he asked the Big Bad Wolf.
0:10:04 > 0:10:09"Grrrah! Of course," growled the wolf importantly,
0:10:09 > 0:10:12as he grabbed the card from the giant's hand.
0:10:12 > 0:10:15"I'm a very good reader."
0:10:15 > 0:10:18"What does it say?" asked the giant.
0:10:18 > 0:10:21"Hold on! I've got to read it myself, first,"
0:10:21 > 0:10:24growled the Big Bad Wolf.
0:10:24 > 0:10:26And suddenly...
0:10:26 > 0:10:27Kazaam!
0:10:27 > 0:10:30The Big Bad Wolf changed into a timid little...
0:10:30 > 0:10:32Baa!
0:10:32 > 0:10:33..lamb!
0:10:33 > 0:10:37"How embarrassing!" shivered the gentle little lamb.
0:10:37 > 0:10:40"I'm supposed to be fierce and ferocious,"
0:10:40 > 0:10:42and then he ran away to hide.
0:10:42 > 0:10:46The Noisy Giant still didn't know what his card said.
0:10:46 > 0:10:50So he went to see the bold and roaring lion
0:10:50 > 0:10:52who was King of the Jungle.
0:10:52 > 0:10:55"Can you read my card?" asked the Very Noisy Giant.
0:10:55 > 0:11:01"Rarr! Of course!" roared the lion, imperiously.
0:11:01 > 0:11:03"I'm a very good reader."
0:11:03 > 0:11:07He opened the card and started to read.
0:11:07 > 0:11:09Kazaam!
0:11:09 > 0:11:12The lion changed into a little scaredy cat.
0:11:12 > 0:11:18"Oh! How humiliating!" he meowed, running off to hide.
0:11:18 > 0:11:21"I'm supposed to be King of the Jungle, meow!"
0:11:21 > 0:11:25But still, the Noisy Giant didn't know what his card said.
0:11:25 > 0:11:30So he went to see the last of the fiery dragons.
0:11:30 > 0:11:33"Can you read my card?" asked the giant.
0:11:33 > 0:11:36"Of course!" said the dragon, grandly.
0:11:36 > 0:11:39"I'm a very good reader."
0:11:39 > 0:11:44But as soon as he started to read the message - kazaam!
0:11:44 > 0:11:50The fiery dragon changed into an insignificant little worm.
0:11:50 > 0:11:54"Oh! This is insufferable!" squirmed the worm,
0:11:54 > 0:11:57crawling into his tiny hole.
0:11:57 > 0:12:01"I'm supposed to be a fiery dragon!"
0:12:01 > 0:12:05The poor giant still didn't know what his card said.
0:12:05 > 0:12:10So he went to see the Naughtiest Ever Fairy.
0:12:10 > 0:12:13"Giant!" she gasped.
0:12:13 > 0:12:16Very surprised to see him so big and noisy.
0:12:16 > 0:12:19"Oh! Didn't you get your card?"
0:12:19 > 0:12:25"Yes," said the giant, "but I can't read it, can you help?"
0:12:25 > 0:12:27SHE LAUGHS
0:12:27 > 0:12:32"No chance!" said the fairy, "I'm not falling for that old trick,
0:12:32 > 0:12:35"find someone else to read it for you."
0:12:35 > 0:12:38Now, what does the card say?
0:12:38 > 0:12:44"Whoever reads this birthday card, if you're big or fierce or scary
0:12:44 > 0:12:49"will turn into something very small, love from the Naughty Fairy."
0:12:49 > 0:12:51Kazaam!
0:12:51 > 0:12:57"He-he-he-he! Oh, you didn't, did you? He-he!"
0:12:57 > 0:13:03Just look at what that fairy has done, she's made me really small!
0:13:03 > 0:13:07I need to try out some of my spells and get myself back to normal.
0:13:07 > 0:13:11And while I do, it's time for you to go to bed.
0:13:11 > 0:13:13I'll see you soon for another story.
0:13:13 > 0:13:15Night-night!
0:13:15 > 0:13:18Now... what was the magic word?
0:13:19 > 0:13:21Oh! Kazaam!
