0:01:45 > 0:01:48Yeah, I'd probably say that, too. Pretty bodacious, right?

0:01:48 > 0:01:50- Sca-doosh.- Oh, yeah. Thanks, Jack.

0:01:50 > 0:01:52Are you ready for what's coming next?

0:01:52 > 0:01:55DIY Blockbuster - Part One. Sca-doosh!

0:01:59 > 0:02:00Action.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03We're giving groups of film-makers the chance to make a short film,

0:02:03 > 0:02:04armed with just a camera,

0:02:04 > 0:02:07a script and some home-made props.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11But, little do they know, they're in for a big surprise...

0:02:11 > 0:02:14You didn't know I was coming?

0:02:14 > 0:02:16..when we give them something spectacular

0:02:16 > 0:02:18to turn their home movie

0:02:18 > 0:02:20into a DIY Blockbuster.

0:02:24 > 0:02:25- Action.- Aaargh!

0:02:25 > 0:02:29Yagmur, Stina, Misbah and Nada are making a monster movie.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32A group of friends find a cursed leaf...

0:02:32 > 0:02:34Look, I got the leaf!

0:02:34 > 0:02:36..which changes one of the friends into a monster.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38SHE GROWLS

0:02:38 > 0:02:41Filming has begun, with Stina playing the lead role...

0:02:41 > 0:02:42- Cut.- What?

0:02:42 > 0:02:44..but what the team don't know is

0:02:44 > 0:02:47we've arranged a DIY Blockbuster surprise

0:02:47 > 0:02:50to make their movie a monster hit.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54So, zoom in like that, then after Yagmur prods her,

0:02:54 > 0:02:55You just zoom out slow.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57And then you pan up.

0:02:57 > 0:02:58The team are busy filming...

0:02:58 > 0:03:00- ..one, action.- Is she OK?

0:03:00 > 0:03:02- I don't know.- Stina?

0:03:03 > 0:03:05..when we give them their DIY Blockbuster surprise.

0:03:11 > 0:03:12Meet Jonathan Faulkner,

0:03:12 > 0:03:16state-of-the-art visual effects expert on films like Harry Potter...

0:03:17 > 0:03:20..and Guardians Of The Galaxy.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Using computer graphics like these, Jonathan is going to help the team

0:03:23 > 0:03:27create a scary monster to star in their movie.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30Because only the monster will be animated,

0:03:30 > 0:03:32the team set about filming the backgrounds...

0:03:32 > 0:03:35Stina, can you just come and run past the camera, please?

0:03:35 > 0:03:38..which isn't as simple as it sounds.

0:03:38 > 0:03:42So, what do we have to have in the scene? Not Stina?

0:03:42 > 0:03:44Nothing at all.

0:03:44 > 0:03:46Because we're going to put the creature in later.

0:03:46 > 0:03:48- What?- Yeah.

0:03:48 > 0:03:50Let's go and measure this telephone box.

0:03:50 > 0:03:52With the creature being added later,

0:03:52 > 0:03:55each shot takes lots of planning and equipment,

0:03:55 > 0:03:58so the next few hours are a steep learning curve for the team.

0:03:58 > 0:04:01Macbeth boards and mirror balls

0:04:01 > 0:04:04and 360 cameras.

0:04:04 > 0:04:06Things I'd never even heard of.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09To make things more difficult, the team have to film

0:04:09 > 0:04:11and act with a monster that isn't there.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14If a character was running away from a monster,

0:04:14 > 0:04:18the character would have to run away, but it's being chased by nothing.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20So you have to use your imagination.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22- Action.- Stina!

0:04:22 > 0:04:24You're being such a baby. Stop!

0:04:24 > 0:04:26Jonathan decides to give them a helping hand.

0:04:29 > 0:04:32- He goes and does that, like... - Like jazz hands!- ..like jazz hands!

0:04:32 > 0:04:35And he makes the face, as well!

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Don't do the jazzy thing with your fingers!

0:04:43 > 0:04:46It was working for a moment - you were sort of...

0:04:46 > 0:04:49And Jonathan's got another idea to make the monster look more real.

0:04:49 > 0:04:53The monster is going to...

0:04:53 > 0:04:54knock the boxes over.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57Cardboard boxes? Why? Why?

0:04:57 > 0:04:59Not sure the team are convinced.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02Those boxes...don't even get... Oh.

0:05:02 > 0:05:05Why would there be a pile of cardboard boxes in a park?

0:05:06 > 0:05:10- It's one of those cardboard box parks.- No, it's not!

0:05:10 > 0:05:12'He insisted that it was the right thing to do,'

0:05:12 > 0:05:16- so we went with him because... - He's the expert.

0:05:16 > 0:05:18Yagmur, come on!

0:05:18 > 0:05:19Here comes the monster.

0:05:19 > 0:05:21Boxes!

0:05:22 > 0:05:25We couldn't see you. That worked very well.

0:05:26 > 0:05:27Action.

0:05:27 > 0:05:28SHE SCREAMS

0:05:28 > 0:05:32They have one more scene to shoot, with no monster.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35That's a wrap in the park. What's next?

0:05:36 > 0:05:40How do you think we are going to animate the character?

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Computer generated imagery.

0:05:43 > 0:05:44Spot on.

0:05:44 > 0:05:46Who is going to make it move?

0:05:47 > 0:05:50- You.- Me? I've got a better idea.

0:05:52 > 0:05:55Still to come on DIY Blockbuster Part Two -

0:05:55 > 0:05:58there's monster moves from Misbah...

0:05:58 > 0:06:00but can he terrify the team?

0:06:00 > 0:06:02You seem like a nice monster.

0:06:02 > 0:06:05And find out what their monster looks like.

0:06:05 > 0:06:07A potato, bear, mouse hybrid.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09Imagine that.

0:06:15 > 0:06:16HE ROARS

0:06:16 > 0:06:19Oh, sorry about that, just channelling my inner monster.

0:06:19 > 0:06:21So, popcorn - do we like it?

0:06:21 > 0:06:24Yes, of course we do, but what flavour?

0:06:24 > 0:06:26I'm thinking toffee, ketchup.

0:06:26 > 0:06:28Toffup, ketchee!

0:06:28 > 0:06:30Hey, popcorn mashup.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35What would be yours?

0:06:35 > 0:06:37My dream popcorn flavour would be banana,

0:06:37 > 0:06:41and that's really strange because I don't like bananas in real life.

0:06:41 > 0:06:43Chocolate, or candyfloss,

0:06:43 > 0:06:45or apple or strawberry.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49Now I've got into it, all right? Um, what else?

0:06:49 > 0:06:50Marmite popcorn.

0:06:50 > 0:06:53Mint chocolate chip with extra, extra chocolate sauce.

0:06:53 > 0:06:54I'd like to try that.

0:06:54 > 0:06:56- Spearmint.- No!

0:06:56 > 0:06:58Bubble gum.

0:06:58 > 0:07:01I'm not sure if they would taste nice, though.

0:07:01 > 0:07:04Cheesy, salty.

0:07:05 > 0:07:06Bacon.

0:07:06 > 0:07:08Cola flavoured popcorn.

0:07:08 > 0:07:10Chocolate ice cream popcorn.

0:07:10 > 0:07:14- Or mango. - Oh, I was going to say mango!

0:07:37 > 0:07:39Fancy a bit of curry popcorn, Keira?

0:07:39 > 0:07:40Wow! Yep, yep!

0:07:40 > 0:07:43- Like it?- Oh, this is horrible!

0:07:43 > 0:07:45Random Red Carpet!

0:07:45 > 0:07:48It doesn't get much more random that this.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48Yep, dragons rule!

0:09:48 > 0:09:51And for all you left-handers out there, you might want to know

0:09:51 > 0:09:54that Hiccup from the How To Train Your Dragon movies

0:09:54 > 0:09:56is also left-handed.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59Letting you into a little Cinemaniac secret, there.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01And if you're a dragon rider, then stay tuned

0:10:01 > 0:10:03cos you're going to love what's coming up next.

0:10:05 > 0:10:09These two Cinemaniacs, Oscar and Nikita, met up with

0:10:09 > 0:10:12How To Train Your Dragon's author, Cressida Cowell,

0:10:12 > 0:10:15and the film's producer, Bonnie Arnold, to ask...

0:10:18 > 0:10:20- Hello.- Hello.

0:10:20 > 0:10:26On page 15, it says that it was quite heroic to train a dragon.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29However, in the movie, Vikings were at war with the dragons.

0:10:29 > 0:10:31I'll take care of this.

0:10:31 > 0:10:33Why did you make those changes?

0:10:33 > 0:10:35I think one of the challenges was

0:10:35 > 0:10:41to try to make Hiccup the first of his tribe

0:10:41 > 0:10:45to do something, rather than it just be already an accepted thing,

0:10:45 > 0:10:49and we felt like that was a bigger, more exciting choice for the film,

0:10:49 > 0:10:53so we made a few changes in order to make it more cinematic.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56The book starts with Hiccup going to get a dragon.

0:10:56 > 0:11:00The film starts with the dragons actually attacking the village.

0:11:02 > 0:11:03Dragons.

0:11:03 > 0:11:08Things that work in a book might not necessarily work in a movie,

0:11:08 > 0:11:12and that is often why decisions are made.

0:11:12 > 0:11:14A very obvious one is that Toothless, in the books,

0:11:14 > 0:11:16is tiny and you can put him down your waistcoat

0:11:16 > 0:11:17and he's really naughty.

0:11:17 > 0:11:21And the decision to make Toothless bigger was taken because,

0:11:21 > 0:11:24if you're making a movie in 3-D,

0:11:24 > 0:11:29in which there are dragons, you kind of want your hero

0:11:29 > 0:11:32to be able to get on top of the dragon and ride it.

0:11:32 > 0:11:35Whereas, in a book, they're just a bunch of descriptions.

0:11:35 > 0:11:39On page 19 it shows that Snotlout was like quite a big bully,

0:11:39 > 0:11:42but in the movie he was just a minor annoyance.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45I've never seen anyone mess up that badly. That helped.

0:11:45 > 0:11:47Thank you, thank you. I was trying.

0:11:47 > 0:11:50To be honest, you only have about 90 minutes to tell the story.

0:11:50 > 0:11:52But could he be a bit more of a bully?

0:11:52 > 0:11:55Well, I think the thing with Snotlout is you understand him

0:11:55 > 0:11:58pretty quickly, so I don't think you need a lot of storytelling

0:11:58 > 0:12:00to tell who he is.

0:12:00 > 0:12:03Dogsbreath the Duhbrain is in the book, but he's not in the film.

0:12:03 > 0:12:04Why did you change that?

0:12:04 > 0:12:07To be honest, it was just a decision we made about, again,

0:12:07 > 0:12:09not having too many characters in the story,

0:12:09 > 0:12:12because you just don't have time to tell all of that story.

0:12:12 > 0:12:15And we really just tried to make it - keep it very simple.

0:12:15 > 0:12:18There weren't enough girls in the group,

0:12:18 > 0:12:21'so we gave Tuffnut a twin sister,

0:12:21 > 0:12:23'because it was...it just made sense for us

0:12:23 > 0:12:25'to have a mix of boys and girls.'

0:12:25 > 0:12:28'So, Dogsbreath, was he a favourite character of yours?'

0:12:28 > 0:12:30I suppose so.

0:12:30 > 0:12:32I know it's annoying, sometimes, to people who want things

0:12:32 > 0:12:36to be exactly the same as they saw it in a book,

0:12:36 > 0:12:39but some of these things are less important

0:12:39 > 0:12:42than the things that happened in the film,

0:12:42 > 0:12:43that came out, that were right,

0:12:43 > 0:12:46and that were true to the books.

0:12:46 > 0:12:48Are you happy with the changes that have been made

0:12:48 > 0:12:49from the book to the film?

0:12:49 > 0:12:55The important point to get across is that what you want in a movie

0:12:55 > 0:12:58is the things that you really care about in your books.

0:12:58 > 0:13:00The things that I minded about my books

0:13:00 > 0:13:02were about looking after the environment...

0:13:02 > 0:13:04About peace.

0:13:04 > 0:13:07..about peace, about Hiccup being a leader who wants peace.

0:13:07 > 0:13:10all of that is out there in the film,

0:13:10 > 0:13:14and those are the things that I really cared about.

0:13:14 > 0:13:17Great grilling by Oscar and Nikita. Good work, guys.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Come on.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22Cressida Cowell seemed pretty happy with what they did

0:13:22 > 0:13:24with her books, so we thought it would be cool

0:13:24 > 0:13:27to meet the writer of the very first How To Train Your Dragon movie.

0:13:27 > 0:13:31And that's this guy. Meet Dean DeBlois,

0:13:31 > 0:13:34co-writer and director of How To Train Your Dragon.

0:13:47 > 0:13:50by challenging him to come up with a top movie plot

0:13:50 > 0:13:54based on four randomly selected story ingredients.

0:13:54 > 0:13:57Yep, it's time for Writer Roulette.

0:14:00 > 0:14:04Well, it's a story about an ant who has the very daunting challenge

0:14:04 > 0:14:06of having to cross from one park to the other.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09It's a cloudy day, he doesn't know if it's going to rain and he's going to

0:14:09 > 0:14:13get swept away in the floods of rainwater that will gather

0:14:13 > 0:14:16around in the park, and so he tries to use the buttons

0:14:16 > 0:14:20on the mobile phone to call up the weather app,

0:14:20 > 0:14:21to see whether or not he's in trouble,

0:14:21 > 0:14:25or if he can make it across in the hour it will take him

0:14:25 > 0:14:26to get across the park.

0:14:26 > 0:14:27Nice one, Dean.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08to create a monster for their movie.

0:15:08 > 0:15:11After a crash course in filming things that aren't really there...

0:15:11 > 0:15:15Why would there be a pile of cardboard boxes in a park?

0:15:15 > 0:15:18..they're struggling to think outside the box.

0:15:20 > 0:15:22Hello, guys. Welcome to our studio.

0:15:22 > 0:15:25Now they've filmed all the real life footage,

0:15:25 > 0:15:28Jonathan's brought them to a motion capture studio

0:15:28 > 0:15:30to add the creature into the scenes...

0:15:30 > 0:15:33Let's get you into the suit.

0:15:33 > 0:15:35..and Misbah is going to play the creature.

0:15:35 > 0:15:39Welcome to our monster. What do you think?

0:15:39 > 0:15:41What?

0:15:41 > 0:15:44'It looked like a caterpillar suit, but it's not.'

0:15:44 > 0:15:47But this isn't fancy dress - the spots on the suit

0:15:47 > 0:15:50are what the computer recognises to give the monster movement...

0:15:50 > 0:15:53That is you, there.

0:15:53 > 0:15:54..and, at the flick of the switch,

0:15:54 > 0:15:57the team get their first glimpse of their monster...

0:15:57 > 0:16:00Misbah, you're moving. Oh, my gosh!

0:16:00 > 0:16:02..and are impressed.

0:16:02 > 0:16:06'It actually seemed like it was real and I really loved it.'

0:16:06 > 0:16:09With everything set up, it's time for Misbah to get into character.

0:16:09 > 0:16:12Motion capture rolling. Action.

0:16:20 > 0:16:23Cut. You seem like a nice monster.

0:16:23 > 0:16:24Be angry.

0:16:24 > 0:16:28'I don't usually get really angry a lot,'

0:16:28 > 0:16:31so it was kind of difficult for me to get into that rage.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33Action.

0:16:33 > 0:16:34HE GROWLS

0:16:34 > 0:16:38Following his director's advice, Misbah throws himself into the part.

0:16:38 > 0:16:40- Like, "Argh!"- Rargh!

0:16:40 > 0:16:43HE GROWLS

0:16:44 > 0:16:46Cut. Yeah, I liked that last one.

0:16:46 > 0:16:49He did really well. if I was in that position, I wouldn't do anything

0:16:49 > 0:16:53- but, you know, you did very well. - Thanks.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55The team's finished, but it takes several weeks

0:16:55 > 0:16:57of intense special effects work

0:16:57 > 0:17:02before they find out just how impressive their monster looks.

0:17:02 > 0:17:03And here's the finished result!

0:17:06 > 0:17:08MONSTER ROARS

0:17:08 > 0:17:10Yep, that's pretty scary.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13I liked the way it moved, the way it looked - especially the eyes,

0:17:13 > 0:17:15because they were really realistic.

0:17:15 > 0:17:20It looked like a potato, bear, mouse hybrid.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23We gave the team a state-of-the-art CGI monster for their movie.

0:17:23 > 0:17:25They've coped with the kit...

0:17:25 > 0:17:28'Macbeth boards and mirror balls.'

0:17:28 > 0:17:29..and mastered the moves...

0:17:29 > 0:17:31- You know, you did very well.- Thanks.

0:17:31 > 0:17:33..but what was the best bit?

0:17:34 > 0:17:37I hate to admit this - the thing that I liked most

0:17:37 > 0:17:40was when the monster knocked over the boxes.

0:17:44 > 0:17:47I can't believe I'm saying this.

0:17:47 > 0:17:51You can find out the team's finished movie on the CBBC website.

0:17:53 > 0:17:56So this is where I give you guys three top tips

0:17:56 > 0:17:57for framing your videos.

0:17:57 > 0:17:59Tip number one - bad framing.

0:18:01 > 0:18:04This is an example of bad framing. You can't even see my face.

0:18:04 > 0:18:06Where's my head gone? Need to push it up.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08We can only see one eye.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10No-one wants to see up your nose.

0:18:12 > 0:18:14Tip number two - good framing.

0:18:14 > 0:18:16This is an example of good framing.

0:18:16 > 0:18:17You can see my whole face

0:18:17 > 0:18:19and we can also see where I am, as well.

0:18:19 > 0:18:22Uh, there was a massive sign in the way. I'm going to do it again.

0:18:22 > 0:18:24Tip number three - fun framing.

0:18:24 > 0:18:26This is an example of fun framing.

0:18:26 > 0:18:28Doesn't it look super-duper cool?

0:18:28 > 0:18:29Hello, everyone.

0:18:29 > 0:18:31You can also turn your camera to the side

0:18:31 > 0:18:33and this is also another fun framing.

0:18:33 > 0:18:35It looks like we're in a superhero movie.

0:18:35 > 0:18:37To infinity and beyond!

0:18:37 > 0:18:41There are my three top tips for framing your videos.

0:18:41 > 0:18:42Now, this.

0:18:44 > 0:18:47Let's head behind the scenes with the Hobbit.

0:18:55 > 0:18:58I'm Adam Brown. I play Ori in the Hobbit.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00HE BELCHES

0:19:00 > 0:19:02'Before we did any type of filming,'

0:19:02 > 0:19:05we did what was called dwarf boot camp,

0:19:05 > 0:19:08where 13 actors who were playing the dwarfs

0:19:08 > 0:19:12'did horse riding lessons, stunt training, movement training.

0:19:12 > 0:19:15'So, we learnt how to walk as dwarfs.'

0:19:15 > 0:19:17This was prior to getting the costume on,

0:19:17 > 0:19:20'and then, suddenly, as you put those boots on,

0:19:20 > 0:19:22'there's no other way of just moving

0:19:22 > 0:19:24'without walking heavily like a dwarf.'

0:19:26 > 0:19:27What do we do now?

0:19:28 > 0:19:30- Hold your breath.- Hold my breath?

0:19:30 > 0:19:32What do you mean?

0:19:32 > 0:19:34THEY YELL

0:19:39 > 0:19:42'In The Desolation Of Smaug,'

0:19:42 > 0:19:46there is a scene where the dwarfs hide in barrels,

0:19:46 > 0:19:48'and we are covered by fish.'

0:19:48 > 0:19:50THEY GRUMBLE

0:19:50 > 0:19:53Now, I have a huge phobia of fish,

0:19:53 > 0:19:56'and the fish came down and they just covered the top of me.'

0:19:56 > 0:19:59They just kept going and going and going and going,

0:19:59 > 0:20:01to the point where they said, "Cut."

0:20:01 > 0:20:03And I just shouted, "Get me out! Get me out of here!

0:20:03 > 0:20:05"I can't stand it any more!

0:20:05 > 0:20:07'And, at the end of the day,'

0:20:07 > 0:20:10I absolutely stunk of fish!

0:20:14 > 0:20:17All these Cinemaniacs secrets -

0:20:17 > 0:20:19and here is one more.

0:20:19 > 0:20:23Introducing Mike Tucker, special effects expert extraordinaire,

0:20:23 > 0:20:27here to show you how to create special effects Hollywood-style in...

0:20:30 > 0:20:33Today we're going to show you how to fly your very own helicopter.

0:20:33 > 0:20:37Well, how to make it look like you're doing it, obviously.

0:20:37 > 0:20:40So grab yourself a couple of friends and let's get started.

0:20:40 > 0:20:44OK, the concept of this effect is called forced perspective,

0:20:44 > 0:20:49and it's something that you may have seen in Lord Of The Rings

0:20:49 > 0:20:52as a way of getting small people and big people

0:20:52 > 0:20:55to be in frame at the same time.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58To make this effect you really only need a model helicopter

0:20:58 > 0:21:00and some books, big ones.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03But if you want to make it look extra good then grab yourself

0:21:03 > 0:21:06some black and yellow paint and a brush.

0:21:06 > 0:21:09Cut a circle out of some old cardboard.

0:21:09 > 0:21:11And, if you happen to have them hanging around the house,

0:21:11 > 0:21:16a hi-vis vest, a couple of ping pong bats and some ear muffs.

0:21:16 > 0:21:18Step one, get your helicopter into position

0:21:18 > 0:21:21by putting it on a table in front of the camera.

0:21:22 > 0:21:25It needs to be close to the lens so it looks big enough

0:21:25 > 0:21:27when you look through the camera.

0:21:27 > 0:21:30You might need some of your books for this to get it the right height.

0:21:30 > 0:21:33Just a little bit higher. We're nearly there.

0:21:33 > 0:21:37You have to do quite a bit of trial and error. How is that looking?

0:21:37 > 0:21:38Yeah, that's pretty good.

0:21:38 > 0:21:42Step two - this is the bit where you make it look extra good.

0:21:42 > 0:21:45Paint your piece of cardboard so it looks like a helipad

0:21:45 > 0:21:48and get someone to dress up in the costume.

0:21:48 > 0:21:51- We have a safety vest. - OK.

0:21:51 > 0:21:53Helicopters make a lot of noise,

0:21:53 > 0:21:55so you're also going to need your ear defenders.

0:21:56 > 0:22:00Don't think these are really table tennis bats.

0:22:00 > 0:22:03Step three, get that someone to stand a distance

0:22:03 > 0:22:06away from the camera so they look much smaller.

0:22:06 > 0:22:09You can make any final adjustments at this stage.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11Go back a bit. Stop.

0:22:11 > 0:22:14Now, if she starts doing...

0:22:16 > 0:22:18Turn as if you're looking that way.

0:22:18 > 0:22:20Yeah.

0:22:20 > 0:22:23- That's better. - Action.

0:22:23 > 0:22:24And we have lift off.

0:22:26 > 0:22:28Get someone to lift the helicopter off the table

0:22:28 > 0:22:32then, hey, presto! You're flying your very own helicopter.

0:22:34 > 0:22:37Greetings, Cinemaniacs!

0:22:37 > 0:22:40It's all right, it's only me. Just channelling my inner Gandalf.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42Coming up next we've got some more movie trickery,

0:22:42 > 0:22:47this time with our very own super actor - Hollywood's Mr Sheen.

0:22:47 > 0:22:51And now the star of Alice In Wonderland, Tron,

0:22:51 > 0:22:55and Twilight, all round good guy

0:22:55 > 0:22:59Michael Sheen, Super Actor!

0:22:59 > 0:23:02'For today's super actor challenge I've come to Port Talbot in Wales,

0:23:02 > 0:23:06'which is where I'm from so I'm kind of pretty famous around these parts.

0:23:06 > 0:23:11'I've even got my own mural. Yeah, it's that one. I know!

0:23:11 > 0:23:14'The crew have taken to the street to see who knows me.'

0:23:14 > 0:23:18Michael Sheen from, um... Badlands, is it?

0:23:18 > 0:23:20Michael Sheen, yes.

0:23:20 > 0:23:23Excuse me, is there a Jersey bakery around here?

0:23:23 > 0:23:25- Do you know Jersey Bakery? - Yes.

0:23:25 > 0:23:28'Hang on a second can we cut there? Who's this guy?

0:23:28 > 0:23:30'He's been hanging around for ages.

0:23:30 > 0:23:34'Actually, it's me. I'm in prosthetics and a costume

0:23:34 > 0:23:36'and no-one's recognised me.

0:23:36 > 0:23:40'But that's not the challenge, no. It's much more difficult.

0:23:40 > 0:23:43'The crew are going to pretend to be from some random TV news show

0:23:43 > 0:23:45'to interview my mum and dad.

0:23:45 > 0:23:47'And I have to try and speak to them

0:23:47 > 0:23:49'not once not twice but three times

0:23:49 > 0:23:51'without them recognising me!

0:23:51 > 0:23:55'Prosthetics aside, this will take all my acting skills.

0:23:55 > 0:23:56'Welcome to...

0:24:00 > 0:24:02'So how did I end up looking like this guy, anyway?

0:24:02 > 0:24:05'With the help of a few pros in the film industry

0:24:05 > 0:24:09'I've been transformed from this handsome fella

0:24:09 > 0:24:11'to this one.

0:24:11 > 0:24:13'All for this week's challenge.'

0:24:13 > 0:24:17We applied the prosthetic nose and little cheek pieces to Michael

0:24:17 > 0:24:20cos Michael's got these really nice little indents.

0:24:20 > 0:24:24'And my character is going to be mostly, er...

0:24:24 > 0:24:26'lost builder?

0:24:26 > 0:24:29'I'm going to warm up my act with some members of the public.'

0:24:29 > 0:24:31I'll see you later.

0:24:31 > 0:24:32Michael Sheen...

0:24:32 > 0:24:34'My disguise is still working well.

0:24:34 > 0:24:37'In fact, I'm ready to get a bit braver.

0:24:37 > 0:24:39'Let's ditch the hat and coat.'

0:24:39 > 0:24:42Yeah, Michael Sheen. He does come down here quite a lot, actually.

0:24:42 > 0:24:45I've seen him around and I think his father still lives around here.

0:24:45 > 0:24:49'Still going strong. Now, where's my mum and dad?'

0:24:49 > 0:24:52- Our Michael. - Michael Sheen.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54'Ah, they're still there,

0:24:54 > 0:24:56'answering random questions about me

0:24:56 > 0:24:58'from the TV interviewer.

0:24:58 > 0:24:59'Which means it's time for...'

0:25:02 > 0:25:04What do you like about living in Port Talbot?

0:25:04 > 0:25:06I love the beach.

0:25:06 > 0:25:10'To succeed I've got to make them believe that I'm just a random bloke

0:25:10 > 0:25:13'and not their own son - three times!'

0:25:13 > 0:25:15They perform it and they perform when...

0:25:15 > 0:25:19'Dad's still droning on, so I'm going to dive straight in.'

0:25:19 > 0:25:22Excuse me, is there a Jersey bakery around here?

0:25:22 > 0:25:25I don't know. I think it may be down the bottom.

0:25:25 > 0:25:27- Down the bottom? - There is a bakery.

0:25:27 > 0:25:30- Thank you. - It's OK.

0:25:30 > 0:25:31'Yay! Fooled them once.

0:25:31 > 0:25:34'Going to interrupt their interview again.

0:25:34 > 0:25:36'I wonder if they'll smell a rat.'

0:25:36 > 0:25:39I can see you're in the middle of something but I'm much obliged,

0:25:39 > 0:25:42- I found it, thank you very much. - OK.- Thank you.- Righto, fine.

0:25:42 > 0:25:45'Woohoo! Fooled them twice!

0:25:45 > 0:25:46'Let's see if I can go

0:25:46 > 0:25:47'for the hat-trick.

0:25:47 > 0:25:49'I'll just stand right here in front of them.

0:25:49 > 0:25:51'Surely they'll recognise me now.'

0:25:51 > 0:25:53I didn't recognise him...

0:25:53 > 0:25:55So if Michael changed his nose and his hair

0:25:55 > 0:25:58do you think you'd recognise him?

0:25:58 > 0:26:00- I don't know!- I don't know.

0:26:00 > 0:26:03'And, yes! Fooled them three times!

0:26:04 > 0:26:06'Come on, Mum, this is ridiculous!'

0:26:06 > 0:26:09So you'd recognise him if he was stood right next to you?

0:26:09 > 0:26:10Yeah, that's right.

0:26:10 > 0:26:13That... I don't believe it!

0:26:13 > 0:26:15I don't believe it!

0:26:15 > 0:26:17It's a good wig, that, isn't it?

0:26:17 > 0:26:18THEY LAUGH

0:26:18 > 0:26:20Your own son.

0:26:20 > 0:26:23- I know! - Yeah. And your teeth.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25'Today's challenge started with a wig,

0:26:25 > 0:26:27'a false nose,

0:26:27 > 0:26:28'and some very good make-up,

0:26:28 > 0:26:31'and ended up with me fooling my mum and dad

0:26:31 > 0:26:33'not once, not twice, but three times!'

0:26:33 > 0:26:37And so the verdict is undeniable! I am truly...

0:26:44 > 0:26:46Next time on Cinemaniacs...

0:26:46 > 0:26:49this group of movie makers step back in time
