0:02:07 > 0:02:10- But little do they know...- Wow. - ..they're in for a big surprise...

0:02:39 > 0:02:42One day a massive meteor comes down to Earth.

0:02:42 > 0:02:46It turns out to be a blue and orange baby.

0:02:46 > 0:02:47The team have started filming

0:02:47 > 0:02:51where the alien baby bursts out of the UFO.

0:02:51 > 0:02:52Action.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54But they're having problems with a cardboard box.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56- Cut.- Ah, I mean spaceship.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58I can't push it open.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00Action.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03- Whoops. - I couldn't hear much outside.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05- Action.- Not again.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07You need to be quicker doing that.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09It was really quiet and dark. I nearly fell asleep.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12Let's do it again. Action.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15- Oh, no. - We had to do that bit many times.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18- Everybody ready? - Eventually they get the shot.

0:03:19 > 0:03:20Phew.

0:03:20 > 0:03:24The team have moved on to the next scene, an alien crowd scene.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Oh, no, you haven't got your mask on.

0:03:27 > 0:03:31But operating the camera and acting at the same time is proving tricky.

0:03:31 > 0:03:32And action.

0:03:34 > 0:03:36HE SCREAMS

0:03:36 > 0:03:39You guys need to wait until I've got here.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41- THEY LAUGH - And action.

0:03:41 > 0:03:43HE SCREAMS You still need to wait for me,

0:03:43 > 0:03:46Charlie. Just wait for me.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49- Is the footage all right? - I have no idea.

0:03:49 > 0:03:53Watching it back it seems that something is missing.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56When there's only six of you it's a bit hard making shots

0:03:56 > 0:03:59look like there's a whole planet full of aliens.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01What the team don't know is that they're in for a

0:04:01 > 0:04:05DIY Blockbuster surprise. We're going to supply them

0:04:05 > 0:04:08with just what they need to supersize their film.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11Time for their surprise.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19Yes, we've beamed in a blockbusting 100 extras

0:04:19 > 0:04:23to star as the aliens in their movie.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25This will definitely work now.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28For big crowd scenes, every single extra on set needs

0:04:28 > 0:04:32clear instructions so they know exactly what they're doing.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35- So if we have...- What are they doing?- I don't know, this is crazy.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38The team need to keep everyone's attention as it only takes

0:04:38 > 0:04:41one person doing something wrong to mess up a shot.

0:04:41 > 0:04:43Quite a lot of pressure.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45You've got to explain it so they all understand.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48So you need to go like that and just shoot at them, just like that.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50And this side, we need you go like that

0:04:50 > 0:04:55and just kind of like mind-waves, kind of, psyche-waves.

0:04:55 > 0:04:57We weren't that great at explaining it.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59All blues this side, all yellows this side.

0:04:59 > 0:05:00There are blues on this side...

0:05:00 > 0:05:03- Blue this side, orange this side. - Orange is that side, yes.

0:05:03 > 0:05:07- Aaargh.- We were like, "Come on, we just want you to walk over."

0:05:07 > 0:05:09And we were like, "Listen," cos we couldn't think of

0:05:09 > 0:05:11any other way of explaining it.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14- We need them to be on this side. - Want me to be on this side?

0:05:14 > 0:05:16No, there were blues on that side so they needed to...

0:05:16 > 0:05:17Oh, so this side? OK.

0:05:17 > 0:05:19We didn't want to be rude and be like, "Go over there,"

0:05:19 > 0:05:22cos it was sort of like, "I know you're older than me."

0:05:22 > 0:05:24But you're the directors.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28- Oh, dear.- It's like trying to handle sheep that have had energy drinks.

0:05:28 > 0:05:32With the extras causing chaos, time is running out fast.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35Still to come on DIY Blockbuster...

0:05:35 > 0:05:37How will they cope directing a crowd scene?

0:05:37 > 0:05:41We had to shout to make everyone go to their places.

0:05:41 > 0:05:43There was a lot of shouting.

0:05:43 > 0:05:44Yeah.

0:05:44 > 0:05:46Will they ever finish their movie?

0:05:46 > 0:05:48Cut!

0:06:14 > 0:06:17and it's when Merlin the wizard is packing up all his stuff

0:06:17 > 0:06:20and he's making all his stuff go into his bag and he's going,

0:06:20 > 0:06:24"Higitus pigitus pigitus pog, ci-cras-ti-di-ti-to..." That one.

0:09:22 > 0:09:23Hi, I'm David Arnold,

0:09:23 > 0:09:24I'm a film composer.

0:09:24 > 0:09:26Some of my credits are...

0:09:31 > 0:09:35The purpose of music in film a lot of the time

0:09:35 > 0:09:40is to hold the hand of the audience as they watch what's happening,

0:09:40 > 0:09:42but it's always to try and say what is

0:09:42 > 0:09:46difficult to say with dialogue or just with picture.

0:09:55 > 0:09:57What we are doing is playing with the way the music can

0:09:57 > 0:10:01change your perception about what's happening in front of you.

0:10:01 > 0:10:03UPBEAT MUSIC PLAYS

0:10:04 > 0:10:07It's going to be a happy-go-lucky kind of day today.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12This is all about energy and all about movement and your blood

0:10:12 > 0:10:15rushing and your heart beating so it feels much more casual.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19In the classroom when learning is hard,

0:10:19 > 0:10:22it's almost like the sound of what you've got inside your own body,

0:10:22 > 0:10:25your blood rushing and your heart beating a little bit stronger.

0:10:25 > 0:10:28Showing integrity but doing the right thing...

0:10:28 > 0:10:30RHYTHMIC MUSIC PLAYS

0:10:32 > 0:10:35CROWD MURMURS

0:10:35 > 0:10:39CALM MUSIC PLAYS

0:10:39 > 0:10:41He's the most popular kid in school

0:10:41 > 0:10:45so we keep it nice and light and bright and breezy.

0:10:50 > 0:10:52He's having fun with friends.

0:10:52 > 0:10:56It's joyful, it's optimistic, it's relaxed.

0:10:59 > 0:11:01PEACEFUL MUSIC PLAYS

0:11:01 > 0:11:05By playing music that says, "We're OK," it feels comfortable

0:11:05 > 0:11:07and it feels like there's no tension there.

0:11:07 > 0:11:11And an easy way of making it feel worse, you could play exactly

0:11:11 > 0:11:15the same music in a minor key and it immediately sounds darker.

0:11:15 > 0:11:18MELANCHOLY MUSIC PLAYS

0:11:19 > 0:11:23I think there's been a bit of a drama.

0:11:27 > 0:11:30If you're going to bed, it's almost like the last chapter of a book.

0:11:30 > 0:11:33The music, in a way, it's like the big finale.

0:11:33 > 0:11:38A big, bright, nice major key and it's all warm and delicious.

0:11:38 > 0:11:41You think, "Right, you can go to sleep now, everything's all right."

0:11:49 > 0:11:52As well as using music to change the mood of your movies,

0:11:52 > 0:11:55you can also have some fun with sound effects.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57BOING!

0:11:57 > 0:11:58Bet you didn't expect that.

0:11:58 > 0:12:01Here's some more tips for making your own cool sound effects.

0:12:01 > 0:12:04My name's Guy Rowland and I'm a sound designer.

0:12:04 > 0:12:06A lot of the effects you can do at home with just stuff

0:12:06 > 0:12:09that's around the house. It's sort of what the professionals do.

0:12:09 > 0:12:12They just take sounds that are recorded that might be for a

0:12:12 > 0:12:15completely different purpose, then put them over different pictures

0:12:15 > 0:12:18and it fools the mind into thinking you've heard something you haven't.

0:12:18 > 0:12:21A really unusual effect can be done just with a pillow

0:12:21 > 0:12:24and if you get your hands and start beating the pillow fast

0:12:24 > 0:12:26that can sound like the bird flapping its wings.

0:12:26 > 0:12:28A fun trick to play is if you record someone just

0:12:28 > 0:12:31putting their hand into an empty box, then of course you can have

0:12:31 > 0:12:33all sorts of fun with the sound of what's in the box

0:12:33 > 0:12:36and you can get something like a pumpkin or a tomato

0:12:36 > 0:12:40and just make those horrible squishy sounds on there and then

0:12:40 > 0:12:43if you put that over the picture of the hand going in the box, it makes

0:12:43 > 0:12:47you think something really horrible is going on that you can't see.

0:12:47 > 0:12:48If you've got one of these,

0:12:48 > 0:12:50if it's a metal one, it should work really well.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53All you need to do is you hold it out in front of you...

0:12:53 > 0:12:58Get a cup, hold it at the bottom, like that, and let go and...

0:12:58 > 0:13:00LASER ZAPS

0:13:00 > 0:13:02There's the laser sound from Star Wars.

0:13:05 > 0:13:08Still to come on Cinemaniacs...

0:13:08 > 0:13:11We get the behind the scenes low-down on Harry Potter

0:13:11 > 0:13:13from Neville Longbottom himself.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15A lot of fear and terror came over me.

0:13:15 > 0:13:19We show you how to make your own movie, 3-D-style.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22That is seeing both of those screens.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24And Michael Sheen, Super Actor, is...

0:13:24 > 0:13:27- # Let's dance under... # - ..singing?

0:13:27 > 0:13:30- # The chain of stars... # - Whatever next?

0:13:30 > 0:13:34But first, it's part two of DIY Blockbuster...

0:13:34 > 0:13:35Action.

0:13:35 > 0:13:38We've given six film makers a blockbuster surprise

0:13:38 > 0:13:41of 100 extras to star in their sci-fi film.

0:13:41 > 0:13:45It was just like this never-ending line of people.

0:13:45 > 0:13:48But can they cope with directing so many people?

0:13:48 > 0:13:51- This is like the whole school. - HE LAUGHS

0:13:51 > 0:13:53Action.

0:13:53 > 0:13:55The team need to take charge

0:13:55 > 0:13:57if these extras are ever going to listen.

0:13:57 > 0:13:59Anyone walking past would think we were a whole

0:13:59 > 0:14:05lot of lunatics, in a field, marching round with blue and orange masks on.

0:14:05 > 0:14:07All right, stop. Now cut.

0:14:07 > 0:14:08Cut!

0:14:08 > 0:14:13Everybody was just, like, pelting around and having fun and

0:14:13 > 0:14:17then Charlie just screamed over the top of his voice in the megaphones.

0:14:17 > 0:14:19And cut!

0:14:19 > 0:14:20- Loud.- Pass it here.

0:14:20 > 0:14:22CUT!

0:14:22 > 0:14:24That's got their attention.

0:14:24 > 0:14:28We had to shout to make everyone go to their places.

0:14:28 > 0:14:30- There was a lot of shouting.- Yeah.

0:14:30 > 0:14:34Basically what you have to do is walk into the middle,

0:14:34 > 0:14:37say "hi" to each other and be friendly.

0:14:37 > 0:14:39CROWD MURMURS

0:14:39 > 0:14:41I think we've got everyone on the right sides.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43You might know what you're trying to say

0:14:43 > 0:14:45but they might not know what's in your head.

0:14:45 > 0:14:49So trying to get what's in your head to them is also quite hard.

0:14:49 > 0:14:52And having got the extras' attention, they waste little time

0:14:52 > 0:14:54in telling them exactly what to do.

0:14:54 > 0:14:58So exactly the same as last time, shocked and then laser fingers.

0:14:58 > 0:15:01Just make sure you look at us when we wave.

0:15:01 > 0:15:04Action! THEY HOWL

0:15:04 > 0:15:07- It's good. It's what we want. - Now I'm happy. I'm happy.

0:15:07 > 0:15:09With everyone knowing what they are doing now,

0:15:09 > 0:15:12they manage to reshoot the alien baby scene with no trouble.

0:15:12 > 0:15:14LASER ZAPS

0:15:14 > 0:15:17THEY GASP

0:15:20 > 0:15:22- Cut.- Cut!

0:15:23 > 0:15:26OK, well done. Thanks for all coming.

0:15:26 > 0:15:29It was great to be filming with you and that's a wrap.

0:15:29 > 0:15:32THEY CHEER

0:15:32 > 0:15:36Now I feel how it is to be a teacher. BOY LAUGHS

0:15:36 > 0:15:40You can check out the team's finished movie on the CBBC website.

0:15:40 > 0:15:43DOOR CREAKS LAUGHTER

0:15:43 > 0:15:46So this is where I give you guys three top tips to help you

0:15:46 > 0:15:48create a suspense movie.

0:15:48 > 0:15:50Tip number one. You need the scariest shot in film...

0:15:53 > 0:15:57What lies behind the door?

0:15:57 > 0:16:00Tip number two. You can have so much fun with scary music.

0:16:00 > 0:16:03It's coming after him. It's all around.

0:16:03 > 0:16:05Run!

0:16:05 > 0:16:07Tip number three. You need a point of view shot.

0:16:07 > 0:16:09This shows what the character's seeing

0:16:09 > 0:16:11without revealing who that person is.

0:16:11 > 0:16:14Follow that man.

0:16:23 > 0:16:26There's my three top tips for making a great suspense movie.

0:16:26 > 0:16:28Now this...

0:16:30 > 0:16:33We get the behind-the-scenes low-down on Harry Potter

0:16:33 > 0:16:37from Matt Lewis, AKA Neville Longbottom himself.

0:16:37 > 0:16:41I remember my first week filming really vividly, actually.

0:16:41 > 0:16:44Chris Columbus took me aside and said, "Just so you're aware,

0:16:44 > 0:16:47"this is pretty much all about you this week." I was like, "Oh, gosh."

0:16:47 > 0:16:52Sort of a lot of fear and terror came over me.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54WHISTLE BLOWS Ah!

0:16:54 > 0:16:57Even at 11 years old, they let me do most of my own stunts.

0:16:57 > 0:17:00They were sort of like, "Are you OK with this?" Said to my mum,

0:17:00 > 0:17:03"Are you OK with this?" She was... I think she was more excited about it

0:17:03 > 0:17:06than I was. So they strapped me in a harness and the next thing I knew I

0:17:06 > 0:17:09was flying around on this broomstick, doing all kinds of crazy stuff.

0:17:09 > 0:17:11- HE SCREAMS - Come back down this instant.

0:17:11 > 0:17:15On Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, Neville gets pulled up

0:17:15 > 0:17:18by his ears by the Cornish Pixies and hung from the chandelier.

0:17:18 > 0:17:22I had to have special moulds made for my ears and so they had these

0:17:22 > 0:17:25rubber ears that they glued over the top of mine and they attached them

0:17:25 > 0:17:30to fishing rods so two guys from the creature effects department could

0:17:30 > 0:17:34stretch these rubber ears to look like I was being pulled up by those.

0:17:34 > 0:17:35Why is it always me?

0:17:35 > 0:17:38I didn't realise that was how it worked. It was... That was good.

0:17:40 > 0:17:463-D or 2-D? I really can't make my mind up about 3-D. I mean, it costs

0:17:46 > 0:17:48a lot more to see a 3-D movie

0:17:48 > 0:17:50but there are some awesome movies in 3-D.

0:17:50 > 0:17:54If 3-D is done well it can help tell any story

0:17:54 > 0:17:55and help to enhance that.

0:17:55 > 0:17:59For example, something like Gravity where you're out in space,

0:17:59 > 0:18:02which is not something that we can directly experience.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05Hmm... It's a pretty convincing argument but I still think

0:18:05 > 0:18:09we need to find out more. It's time for a Cinemaniacs Investigation.

0:18:10 > 0:18:12My name is Dr Rod Mitchell

0:18:12 > 0:18:15and as part of our Cinemaniacs Investigation we're going to

0:18:15 > 0:18:18use these monitors to find out whether watching in 3-D

0:18:18 > 0:18:21can affect your heart rate, which could go up if you're excited.

0:18:21 > 0:18:26So all we need now is to test this out on someone, 3-D, 2-D...

0:18:26 > 0:18:31I know...we need twins. Identical twins.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34And we need identical twins to make sure that this investigation

0:18:34 > 0:18:36is as scientific as it can be.

0:18:36 > 0:18:38What is it about 3-D that you like?

0:18:38 > 0:18:40- Makes me jump.- OK.

0:18:40 > 0:18:44You feel, like, stuff, like, getting really close to you.

0:18:44 > 0:18:46I don't notice it. After five minutes I don't notice it.

0:18:46 > 0:18:49I don't...I don't actually know it's 3-D.

0:18:50 > 0:18:53We're going to show the twins clips from three different movies

0:18:53 > 0:18:56and see how they react. The only thing that's different is that

0:18:56 > 0:18:59one of them is watching it in 2-D and the other is watching it in 3-D.

0:18:59 > 0:19:02The first clip we're going to show is from Madagascar 3.

0:19:02 > 0:19:05- I am a sea lion.- Whatever.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08And immediately we see a reaction from James.

0:19:09 > 0:19:12And yes, his heart rate has gone up. LAUGHTER

0:19:12 > 0:19:15The second clip is from "Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure" and here

0:19:15 > 0:19:19we see two very different responses from James and Matthew, although

0:19:19 > 0:19:22our monitors are not showing a reaction from the other twins.

0:19:22 > 0:19:26The final clip is from Oz The Great And Powerful

0:19:26 > 0:19:29but this time Spencer is responding very strongly to it in 3-D.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34So what have we proved with this Cinemaniacs Investigation?

0:19:34 > 0:19:38There are different reactions by different people to watching

0:19:38 > 0:19:42a movie in 3-D. Whether it means that a 3-D movie

0:19:42 > 0:19:45is generally more exciting than a 2-D movie,

0:19:45 > 0:19:48I don't think we've proved, and what we would

0:19:48 > 0:19:52need to do is a much bigger study with lots and lots more children.

0:19:54 > 0:19:57Do you think I look like James Bond in these?

0:19:57 > 0:19:59I reckon you're going to have to make your own mind up about that

0:19:59 > 0:20:02but if you want to know how to make your own 3-D movie,

0:20:02 > 0:20:04then stay tuned for this...

0:20:04 > 0:20:06Introducing Mr Mike Tucker,

0:20:06 > 0:20:10here to show you how to create special effects Hollywood-style,

0:20:10 > 0:20:13in The Secrets Of Moviemaking.

0:20:15 > 0:20:19Today, we're going to show you how to make a 3-D camera,

0:20:19 > 0:20:22so grab a friend and let's get started.

0:20:22 > 0:20:26Have you seen any 3-D films? Have you seen a film like Hugo, for instance?

0:20:26 > 0:20:29- Yeah, I have.- The way those films work is that they have two cameras

0:20:29 > 0:20:31pretending to be your left eye which gives you one view

0:20:31 > 0:20:34and your right eye which gives you a slightly different view.

0:20:34 > 0:20:38So for this effect, you're going to need three smartphones, a shoebox,

0:20:38 > 0:20:42a couple of pairs of cheap strong reading glasses and some tape.

0:20:42 > 0:20:46Step one. Stick a loop of tape to the back of each phone.

0:20:46 > 0:20:50So the first thing we've got to do is fix our two smartphones.

0:20:50 > 0:20:52Make sure the lens of both the phones can see

0:20:52 > 0:20:54over the top of the box.

0:20:54 > 0:20:56So it needs to be, yeah, right in the corner

0:20:56 > 0:20:59and this one needs to be right up against it. There we go.

0:20:59 > 0:21:00Step two...

0:21:00 > 0:21:04We now need to get our third smartphone set in the middle of the

0:21:04 > 0:21:10box and get it to the right height so that it's filming the two screens.

0:21:10 > 0:21:13Keep adding layers of card until the phone is the right height.

0:21:13 > 0:21:17What we're going to do now is we're going to tape that triangle

0:21:17 > 0:21:20to the back of this smartphone case.

0:21:20 > 0:21:27Now you need to find a position where that is seeing both of those screens.

0:21:27 > 0:21:28Step three...

0:21:28 > 0:21:32We now need to stop any unwanted reflections and light getting in, so

0:21:32 > 0:21:36what we're going to do is we're going to put the lid back on. But obviously

0:21:36 > 0:21:39the lid isn't going to fix, cos these two are sticking up above the edge.

0:21:39 > 0:21:42So we need to cut right the way along.

0:21:43 > 0:21:45We're going to take two pencils

0:21:45 > 0:21:50and we're going to tape those into the corners, points down. Perfect.

0:21:50 > 0:21:54Now, if you put the lid on... Can you see the camera, yeah?

0:21:54 > 0:21:55Yeah.

0:21:55 > 0:21:59To start filming, press record on the phone nearest to you.

0:21:59 > 0:22:02Remember, you only need to press record on the third phone and

0:22:02 > 0:22:04you should now see two images side by side

0:22:04 > 0:22:06which means you're recording in 3-D.

0:22:06 > 0:22:09Make sure you have something in the foreground and the background

0:22:09 > 0:22:12and keep the camera moving.

0:22:12 > 0:22:15To make a really good 3-D effect, make sure something is pointing

0:22:15 > 0:22:19towards the camera. Movement works so well in 3-D.

0:22:19 > 0:22:22You can make a simple pair of glasses to watch your 3-D film.

0:22:22 > 0:22:24So what we're going to do is we're going to

0:22:24 > 0:22:30tape two pairs of quite strong reading glasses together

0:22:30 > 0:22:33and those are now going to be your 3-D glasses.

0:22:33 > 0:22:38So hit play on that and now bring it as close to you as possible,

0:22:38 > 0:22:42until you start to see that image in 3-D.

0:22:43 > 0:22:47And that's how you make a 3-D camera.

0:22:47 > 0:22:50Hey, I'm just testing out my laugh-o-meter over here.

0:22:50 > 0:22:52So why did the chicken cross the playground?

0:22:52 > 0:22:55Because he wanted to get to the other SLIDE.

0:22:55 > 0:22:57- LAUGHTER - Well, it seems to be

0:22:57 > 0:22:58working all right.

0:22:58 > 0:23:00Over to you, Mr Super Actor.

0:23:00 > 0:23:03And now the star of Alice In Wonderland, Tron

0:23:03 > 0:23:07and Twilight - all-round good guy

0:23:07 > 0:23:11Michael Sheen, Super Actor.

0:23:11 > 0:23:16Today I am going to go into that cinema screen there

0:23:16 > 0:23:20in front of this audience. A film is going to be shown

0:23:20 > 0:23:23and I've never set eyes on this film before.

0:23:23 > 0:23:26It will be a foreign film but there will be no subtitles.

0:23:26 > 0:23:30I will be sitting in a corner of the cinema with subtitles

0:23:30 > 0:23:36and a microphone. I have to perform every single role in this film

0:23:36 > 0:23:38and keep this audience entertained.

0:23:38 > 0:23:41Welcome to the Make 'Em Laugh Challenge!

0:23:41 > 0:23:44If I can keep the audience entertained and laughing

0:23:44 > 0:23:48for most of the film, I win today's challenge.

0:23:48 > 0:23:51Everyone sitting comfortably? Then let's begin...

0:23:51 > 0:23:55With this microphone, I'm going to have to act every single part

0:23:55 > 0:23:59in the film, never having seen the film before, so I have to see

0:23:59 > 0:24:03if I can keep you entertained whilst you watch the film.

0:24:03 > 0:24:07I just hope there are no songs because I really hate singing.

0:24:07 > 0:24:09It's time for the challenge!

0:24:09 > 0:24:12OK, will I be able to keep them

0:24:12 > 0:24:17entertained for the full one hour and 25 minutes of the film?

0:24:17 > 0:24:20We'll find out using my...

0:24:21 > 0:24:24Right, so this film's called Rolli,

0:24:24 > 0:24:27which translates into English as Rolli.

0:24:27 > 0:24:29It's a Finnish film and it's evidently all about

0:24:29 > 0:24:32a battle between elves and trolls. Wish me luck.

0:24:32 > 0:24:35'Luckily I've got subtitles to help me out.'

0:24:35 > 0:24:40Lackey and Cacophony! The map and the sextant.

0:24:40 > 0:24:42On my way, just a moment. 'I'm off to a good start.'

0:24:42 > 0:24:45Knobbly and Rolli, check the beach.

0:24:46 > 0:24:49The beach? 'Who's this? Is that a troll?

0:24:49 > 0:24:52'I think he's a small character. Maybe I should do a squeaky voice.'

0:24:54 > 0:24:57Help! LAUGHTER

0:24:57 > 0:25:00'The laugh-o-meter is going in the right direction

0:25:00 > 0:25:05'but then, less than five minutes in, my worst nightmare happens...

0:25:05 > 0:25:06'a song.'

0:25:08 > 0:25:11# A land where rivers of milk can be found

0:25:11 > 0:25:14# Where treasure chests lie in the ground

0:25:17 > 0:25:22# The trolls aren't afraid of wars

0:25:28 > 0:25:31'If I can get through that, I can get through anything

0:25:31 > 0:25:33'but there's still over an hour left.'

0:25:34 > 0:25:37Such a new tent and all ablaze!

0:25:37 > 0:25:40'Try as I might, this is a long movie.

0:25:40 > 0:25:43'The audience are starting to flag a little.

0:25:43 > 0:25:45'And they're not the only ones. So am I.

0:25:45 > 0:25:49'I'm going to have to dig deep to keep them entertained through

0:25:49 > 0:25:53'to the end. I never thought I'd say this but bring on another song.

0:25:53 > 0:25:56'Come on, Michael. You can do this.

0:25:56 > 0:25:59'You're a Super Actor. Let's go for it.'

0:26:03 > 0:26:08# Let's dance under the chain of stars

0:26:08 > 0:26:13# Let the party begin on a bright night... #

0:26:14 > 0:26:18APPLAUSE 'Phew. Thank goodness that's over.'

0:26:18 > 0:26:20- So did you enjoy the film?- Yes.

0:26:20 > 0:26:23You did? Good. Now, what was not such a good thing

0:26:23 > 0:26:26about my performance? What could have been better?

0:26:26 > 0:26:29The singing. The bad thing was...out of key.

0:26:29 > 0:26:32Off-key? How dare you? Leave this cinema now

0:26:32 > 0:26:35and never come back. Tell me a good thing about my performance.

0:26:35 > 0:26:38You changed your voice for different characters. That was...

0:26:38 > 0:26:39It made it a lot easier to follow.

0:26:39 > 0:26:42So today's challenge started with me singing very badly

0:26:42 > 0:26:45but in the end, that was what made them laugh.

0:26:45 > 0:26:47Which means, for today at least...

0:26:47 > 0:26:52# I am Michael Sheen, Super Actor. #

0:26:52 > 0:26:55Way to go, Michael.

0:26:55 > 0:26:58Next time on Cinemaniacs...

0:26:58 > 0:27:01More Cinemaniacs get a DIY Blockbuster surprise

0:27:01 > 0:27:04when their filming location gets supersized...

0:27:04 > 0:27:05Whoa.

0:27:05 > 0:27:09We show you how to stop time in The Secrets Of Movie Making...

0:27:11 > 0:27:13My hands are in the air like I just do not care.

0:27:13 > 0:27:15- Minutes of me just going... - HE PANTS

0:27:15 > 0:27:18Jim Parsons is here. Need I say more?

0:27:18 > 0:27:20Show's nearly up, guys, but just before we go,

0:27:20 > 0:27:22I want to tell you about piglet Babe,

0:27:22 > 0:27:25that should really be called "the piglets" Babe,

0:27:25 > 0:27:27because Babe was played by

0:27:27 > 0:27:30over 48 different piglets because they kept growing up.

0:27:30 > 0:27:34And each one had to wear a pig wig to make them look just like Babe.

0:27:34 > 0:27:37What do you think? Looks pretty cool, right? I'm Oli White

0:27:37 > 0:27:40and you've been watching Cinemaniacs.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42And finally... 2-D or 3-D?

0:27:42 > 0:27:44- 2-D.- 3-D.

0:27:44 > 0:27:452-D.

0:27:45 > 0:27:47- 3-D.- 2-D.

0:27:47 > 0:27:482½-D.

0:27:48 > 0:27:493-D.

0:27:49 > 0:27:51I don't know, I like them both.

0:27:51 > 0:27:52- 2-D.- I'll go 3-D.

0:27:52 > 0:27:54- 3-D.- 3-D.

0:27:54 > 0:27:56- 3-D.- Both.

0:27:56 > 0:27:57That is cheating.
