0:00:37 > 0:00:39Hello, everyone!

0:00:39 > 0:00:41I'm Oli White and this is...

0:00:41 > 0:00:42Cinemaniacs -

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Cineminis!

0:00:45 > 0:00:48On today's show, How To Train Your Dragon.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50Duhbrain is in the book, but he's not in the film.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Why did you change that?

0:00:52 > 0:00:55Jim Parsons. Oh, yes!

0:00:55 > 0:00:58And a green screen challenge for Michael Sheen,

0:00:58 > 0:00:59super actor!

0:00:59 > 0:01:00Whoops!

0:01:03 > 0:01:06These two cinemaniacs, Oscar and Nikhita, met up with

0:01:06 > 0:01:09How To Train Your Dragon's author Cressida Cowell

0:01:09 > 0:01:11and the film's producer Bonnie Arnold

0:01:11 > 0:01:13to ask...

0:01:15 > 0:01:17- Hello.- Hello.

0:01:17 > 0:01:23On page 15, it says that it was quite heroic to train a dragon.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26However, in the movie, Vikings were at war with the dragons.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28I'll take care of this.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Why did you make those changes?

0:01:31 > 0:01:35I think one of the challenges was to try to make

0:01:35 > 0:01:37Hiccup the first of his tribe

0:01:37 > 0:01:42to do something, rather than it just be already an accepted thing.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44And we felt like that was a bigger,

0:01:44 > 0:01:46more exciting choice for the film.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48So, we made a few changes

0:01:48 > 0:01:50in order to make it more cinematic.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53The book starts with Hiccup going to get a dragon.

0:01:53 > 0:01:57The film starts with the dragons actually attacking the village.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01Dragons!

0:02:01 > 0:02:05Things that work in a book might not necessarily work in a movie

0:02:05 > 0:02:09and that is often why decisions are made.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12Very obvious one is that Toothless, in the books, is tiny

0:02:12 > 0:02:15and you can put him down your waistcoat and he's really naughty

0:02:15 > 0:02:18and the decision to make Toothless bigger was taken

0:02:18 > 0:02:23because if you're making a movie in 3-D in which there are dragons,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26you kind of want your hero

0:02:26 > 0:02:29to be able to get on top of the dragon and ride it.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32Whereas in a book, they're just a bunch of descriptions.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36Dogsbreath the Duhbrain is in the book, but he's not in the film.

0:02:36 > 0:02:37Why did you change that?

0:02:37 > 0:02:40To be honest, it was just a decision we made about, again,

0:02:40 > 0:02:42not having too many characters in the story

0:02:42 > 0:02:45because you just don't have time to tell all of that story.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48And we really just tried to make it very simple.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50There weren't enough girls in the group,

0:02:50 > 0:02:54so we gave Tuffnut a twin sister because it was...

0:02:54 > 0:02:59It just made sense for us to have a mix of boys and girls.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02- So, Dogsbreath, was he a favourite character of yours?- I suppose so.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06I know it's annoying sometimes to people who want things

0:03:06 > 0:03:09to be exactly the same as they saw it in the book,

0:03:09 > 0:03:12but some of these things are less important than the things

0:03:12 > 0:03:15that happened in the film that came out

0:03:15 > 0:03:18that were right and were true to the books.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20Are you happy with the changes that have been made

0:03:20 > 0:03:22from the book to the film?

0:03:22 > 0:03:27The important point to get across is that what you want in a movie

0:03:27 > 0:03:30is the things that you really care about in your books.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33The things that I minded about my books were about

0:03:33 > 0:03:36- looking after the environment. - About peace.

0:03:36 > 0:03:40About peace, about Hiccup being a leader who wants peace.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43All of that is out there in the film

0:03:43 > 0:03:45and those are the things I really cared about.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47Yeah!

0:03:47 > 0:03:49'Great grilling by Oscar and Nikhita. Good work, guys.'

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Come on!

0:03:54 > 0:03:57We ask the questions so you don't have to!

0:03:58 > 0:04:00'Emma, Emma, over here!'

0:04:00 > 0:04:02I'm glad I find you, good!

0:04:02 > 0:04:04'Aw thanks, Emma, I'm glad I found you too!'

0:04:04 > 0:04:07Thank you, and thank you for your excellent questions.

0:04:07 > 0:04:09'Um, I haven't asked any yet.'

0:04:09 > 0:04:14And your extremely adult and professional demeanour.

0:04:14 > 0:04:16- 'OK.'- I salute you.

0:04:18 > 0:04:22It doesn't get much more random than this!

0:04:22 > 0:04:25The film Bill is all about the life of a certain William Shakespeare,

0:04:25 > 0:04:29but if someone had to play YOU in a movie, who would it be?

0:04:29 > 0:04:32Me, because I wouldn't want to give any other actor the work.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35- Wow.- Well, no, and also, I can do the accent.

0:04:35 > 0:04:40Mannerisms I've almost got down and I've got some bits of memory

0:04:40 > 0:04:43about stuff I've done, so if anyone can come along and play it better,

0:04:43 > 0:04:45- then good luck to them!- Mmm.

0:04:45 > 0:04:46Now, this is Bill.

0:04:46 > 0:04:50We're giving these cinemaniacs an exclusive peek

0:04:50 > 0:04:53behind the scenes of the making of the Bill trailer.

0:04:53 > 0:04:55Bill!

0:04:55 > 0:04:56What?!

0:04:56 > 0:04:58Shakespeare, Bill Shakespeare.

0:04:58 > 0:05:02There's lots of different elements that make up a trailer.

0:05:02 > 0:05:05Can you guys tell me what you think they might be?

0:05:05 > 0:05:07- The plot? - You've got the plot.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10We go and write a script that's going to tell the story

0:05:10 > 0:05:14that we've selected that's going to make sense in the length of time

0:05:14 > 0:05:15that you've got allocated.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17So, in our case, it's 30 seconds.

0:05:17 > 0:05:19- The voice-overs. - Voice-overs.

0:05:19 > 0:05:24- Sound effects. - Sound effects and what about music?

0:05:24 > 0:05:26Music, is that important?

0:05:26 > 0:05:28- Definitely.- Yeah.- Yeah.

0:05:28 > 0:05:29What does music do?

0:05:29 > 0:05:30It captures you.

0:05:30 > 0:05:32The Queen needs a play.

0:05:32 > 0:05:33Blah, blah, blah, blah.

0:05:34 > 0:05:36Writing's hard.

0:05:36 > 0:05:37It captures you.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39The trailer's basically telling you the story

0:05:39 > 0:05:42and what the plot's going to be, but it's not giving too much away.

0:05:42 > 0:05:46You just need to make it all flow together really nicely.

0:05:46 > 0:05:48King Philip II of Spain!

0:05:52 > 0:05:54Anyway, how are you?

0:05:54 > 0:05:57Who puts the actual trailer together?

0:05:57 > 0:05:59The editor puts together

0:05:59 > 0:06:01- and this is Frank.- Hello. - He's our editor.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05The editing side of it.

0:06:05 > 0:06:07Having to look through every single clip,

0:06:07 > 0:06:08get the right bits.

0:06:08 > 0:06:1030 seconds seems like a long time

0:06:10 > 0:06:14and then you put it into practice and it is not a long time!

0:06:14 > 0:06:17With comedy, you've got to really find short ways

0:06:17 > 0:06:19of making everything really funny.

0:06:19 > 0:06:20Have you been before?

0:06:20 > 0:06:22No, first time.

0:06:22 > 0:06:23And the other thing is that everybody

0:06:23 > 0:06:25has different opinions on what's funny.

0:06:25 > 0:06:27Ooh, it's nice.

0:06:27 > 0:06:29Don't steal anything.

0:06:29 > 0:06:32Something that I might funny, Hannah might not find funny.

0:06:32 > 0:06:34And then we get into an argument about what should

0:06:34 > 0:06:35go into the trailer.

0:06:37 > 0:06:39- Hello.- Hello.- Hi.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42Everyone, this is Steve. Steve is a voice-over artist.

0:06:44 > 0:06:48And you guys can direct him. I'd love to hear your ideas.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51We need to come up with a slogan or a tagline

0:06:51 > 0:06:55to make sure it's something snappy that they'll remember.

0:06:55 > 0:06:56- Make it rhyme.- OK, let's think.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59Plays is the main aspect of...

0:06:59 > 0:07:01Play, day...

0:07:01 > 0:07:04History is a play, come and see it today.

0:07:04 > 0:07:05Oh, I don't know.

0:07:07 > 0:07:09OK, this is hard.

0:07:09 > 0:07:10Catching our dreams.

0:07:10 > 0:07:13- Cos you remember Shakespeare, he says something like...- Oh, yeah!

0:07:13 > 0:07:16Or, "In the Shakespearean world nothing is as it seems."

0:07:16 > 0:07:18- Yes.- Yeah.

0:07:18 > 0:07:22Are you ready to catch your dreams?

0:07:22 > 0:07:26In Shakespearean times, nothing is as it seems.

0:07:26 > 0:07:27So, that one was quite mysterious.

0:07:27 > 0:07:30- Maybe have quite a strong English accent on the next one.- Oh, no!

0:07:32 > 0:07:35Are you ready to catch your dreams?

0:07:35 > 0:07:39In Shakespearean times, nothing is as it seems.

0:07:39 > 0:07:41And here's the finished result.

0:07:41 > 0:07:44'Are you ready to catch your dreams?'

0:07:44 > 0:07:45Break a leg!

0:07:45 > 0:07:50'In Shakespearean times, nothing is as it seems.'

0:07:51 > 0:07:53- That's awesome. - That was really good.

0:07:53 > 0:07:55- Yeah.- So, we happy?

0:07:55 > 0:07:57- Yeah.- Yep.- Yeah, I think it was really good.

0:07:57 > 0:08:01I've learnt that it takes a lot more time than you think it would.

0:08:01 > 0:08:02It's not easy by any means.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05I think it's really good how it's turned out.

0:08:05 > 0:08:09I've learnt how to put a trailer together professionally, so...

0:12:08 > 0:12:11here in a green screen studio?

0:12:11 > 0:12:16Our judges Theo, Yassine and Chloe will have to try and guess

0:12:16 > 0:12:18what the scene is that I'm acting out

0:12:18 > 0:12:21before all the other elements have been put on.

0:12:21 > 0:12:25If they guess at least two out of three right, I win!
