0:06:22 > 0:06:24# Through the fire and the rain

0:06:24 > 0:06:26# Bound in every kind of way

0:06:44 > 0:06:46# I can lift my hands

0:06:46 > 0:06:49# And I'm going to praise you

0:06:49 > 0:06:52- # I'm going to praise you - # I'm going to praise you

0:06:52 > 0:06:55# Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance

0:06:55 > 0:06:56# Oh

0:06:56 > 0:06:58# I just want to praise you

0:06:58 > 0:07:02- # I just want to praise you - # I just want to praise you

0:07:02 > 0:07:04# You broke the chains Now I can lift my hands

0:07:04 > 0:07:06# I can lift my hands

0:07:06 > 0:07:08# And I'm going to praise you

0:07:08 > 0:07:10# I'm going to praise you

0:07:10 > 0:07:14# I'm going to praise you, yeah! #

0:07:19 > 0:07:23That is probably one of the hardest songs to cover and cover well.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26You guys absolutely nailed it.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

0:07:28 > 0:07:31You have really strong solo singers.

0:07:31 > 0:07:32What's your name, young lady?

0:07:32 > 0:07:34- Yeah.- Aisha.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37Aisha, you're like... You just reminded me of Mary J Blige.

0:07:37 > 0:07:39ALL: Oh!

0:07:39 > 0:07:41You've got an outstanding voice.

0:07:41 > 0:07:44You've got good voices in there and you've got great dance energy

0:07:44 > 0:07:48and there's a real unity. It was fantastic.

0:07:48 > 0:07:49ALL: Thank you.

0:07:49 > 0:07:51That was a really slick performance.

0:07:51 > 0:07:54And you had the right balance between the choreography

0:07:54 > 0:07:55and the singing. It didn't affect...

0:07:55 > 0:07:58It was very entertaining to watch the choreography

0:07:58 > 0:08:02but it didn't affect the vocals. Your solo part was incredible.

0:08:02 > 0:08:07- Thank you.- Like, ridiculous. How old are you?- 15. Oh, wait, 15? 16.- 16.

0:08:07 > 0:08:08That's scary. That was really...

0:08:08 > 0:08:11It was a brilliant performance, well done.

0:08:11 > 0:08:14ALL: Thank you.

0:08:14 > 0:08:17- Your voice held out, did it?- Yeah. - Yay!

0:08:17 > 0:08:20- Compared to Mary J Blige! - I know.- High praise indeed.

0:08:20 > 0:08:24- What do you think about that? - Amazing.- Oh, you're so croaky.- Yeah.

0:08:24 > 0:08:30My goodness, if that's you on a bad day... Wow.

0:08:30 > 0:08:31She really was young Mary.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33- She really sounds like Mary J Blige. - Yeah.

0:08:33 > 0:08:37# I'm going to praise you, yeah! #

0:08:43 > 0:08:47# All I want is a proper, proper coffee made in a proper coffee pot! #

0:08:47 > 0:08:50# Pushing down on me... #

0:08:50 > 0:08:51# I'm going to let it shine. #

0:08:51 > 0:08:57- Next up, we have Triple Threat. Sounds very dangerous.- Oh, scary.

0:08:57 > 0:09:00I liked them. They were very Glee-esque.

0:09:00 > 0:09:05They're what I would call "tryers" and I think they will get better.

0:09:05 > 0:09:07- Good. Did you enjoy it? - ALL: Yes.

0:09:07 > 0:09:10I think it's a case of whether or not they believe in themselves.

0:09:10 > 0:09:14There's individual solos and stuff which are pretty good.

0:09:14 > 0:09:18Have you had any dramas in the run-up to this or has it all been smooth?

0:09:18 > 0:09:21I ended up with a sore throat and I had a solo in the piece

0:09:21 > 0:09:25and I've had to change it around cos my throat's been really sore.

0:09:25 > 0:09:28- Oh, my darling. How are you feeling? - I'm all right.

0:09:28 > 0:09:31- I just need to get through it. - Are you going to be all right?- Yeah.

0:09:31 > 0:09:32Save it a little bit on the rehearsals.

0:09:32 > 0:09:36- So who's taking your solo? - Courtney.- OK. How does that feel?

0:09:36 > 0:09:39- Cos that's a bit last-minute. You've been thrown in the deep end.- Erm...

0:09:39 > 0:09:42I am nervous but I'll get through it.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44# Under pressure! #

0:09:46 > 0:09:48# Pressure

0:09:48 > 0:09:50# Pushing down on me

0:09:50 > 0:09:53# Pressing down on you No man ask for

0:09:53 > 0:09:56# Under pressure

0:09:56 > 0:09:58# That burns a building down

0:09:58 > 0:10:00# Splits a family in two

0:10:00 > 0:10:03# Puts people on the streets

0:10:03 > 0:10:06# It's the terror of knowing what this world is about

0:10:06 > 0:10:09# And watching some good friends screaming

0:10:09 > 0:10:11# Let me out

0:10:11 > 0:10:14# Pray tomorrow gets me higher

0:10:14 > 0:10:17# Pressure on people

0:10:17 > 0:10:19# People on the streets

0:10:21 > 0:10:25# One by one

0:10:25 > 0:10:32# Only the good die young

0:10:32 > 0:10:38# They're only flying too close to the sun

0:10:38 > 0:10:42# And life, it goes on

0:10:42 > 0:10:46- # Without you... # - Good!

0:10:46 > 0:10:49# One by one

0:10:49 > 0:10:55- # One by one - # Only the good die young

0:10:55 > 0:10:57# Good die young

0:10:57 > 0:11:02# They're only flying too close to the sun

0:11:02 > 0:11:07# Crying for no-one

0:11:08 > 0:11:14# No-one but you. #

0:11:19 > 0:11:22- How did that compare to how you've seen it before?- Really well.

0:11:22 > 0:11:24- They'll be really pleased with that. - Excellent.

0:11:24 > 0:11:26You've got your harmonies all coming together nicely,

0:11:26 > 0:11:28the timing coming together nicely,

0:11:28 > 0:11:31great to watch, really easy on the eye.

0:11:31 > 0:11:34My one point to you would be that, at the moment,

0:11:34 > 0:11:36you're just singing with volume.

0:11:36 > 0:11:40I'd like you to look at, "How do we beautify that,

0:11:40 > 0:11:42"make it smoother, more easy on the ear?"

0:11:42 > 0:11:45- That's the one thing I'd ask you to look at.- It's just a bit more...

0:11:45 > 0:11:47I'd say, chemistry between you,

0:11:47 > 0:11:49just trying to sort of make sure

0:11:49 > 0:11:53that you acknowledge each other a little bit more as a whole.

0:11:53 > 0:11:57And that I think would actually just give the viewer something a bit more

0:11:57 > 0:11:59and it would draw us more into the performance.

0:11:59 > 0:12:01ALL: Thank you.

0:12:01 > 0:12:04Sometimes the key doesn't suit all of you,

0:12:04 > 0:12:06so at points it felt a bit low for some

0:12:06 > 0:12:08and a little bit high for others,

0:12:08 > 0:12:13but, otherwise, individually, you were all absolutely fantastic.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16ALL: Thank you.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19So, tell me, how did that go? ALL: Amazing.

0:12:19 > 0:12:23You really enjoyed it? Your leg thingamabob went well, didn't it?

0:12:23 > 0:12:25Did you get all warmed up?

0:12:25 > 0:12:28So your voice, you know, maybe not on top form but your legs are.

0:12:28 > 0:12:30Brilliant.

0:12:30 > 0:12:32It's easy when you've got that many kids

0:12:32 > 0:12:38to actually favour volume and energy over quality.

0:12:38 > 0:12:43And the hard thing is to get the absolutely right mix of both,

0:12:43 > 0:12:44so you're getting all the energy

0:12:44 > 0:12:47but you're also getting the best quality you can.

0:12:47 > 0:12:50Sometimes, that means pulling back the volume.

0:12:50 > 0:12:55# No-one but you. #

0:13:00 > 0:13:03Both M.A.D and Triple Threat have struggled with their voices,

0:13:03 > 0:13:05but still put in solid performances.

0:13:05 > 0:13:09Next up, another two groups get the opportunity to impress the judges.

0:13:09 > 0:13:11I love your sound.

0:13:11 > 0:13:13I think you might have pulled it off.

0:13:13 > 0:13:16I think you've still got potential to be an awesome group.

0:13:27 > 0:13:29- The next act is The Sweets... - The Sweets!

0:13:29 > 0:13:31..and you guys will remember them

0:13:31 > 0:13:33because every one of them is the original member.

0:13:33 > 0:13:36Yeah. I remember liking them, so...

0:13:36 > 0:13:39# She said I love you more than words can say... #

0:13:39 > 0:13:41- How did it feel last year? - It was amazing.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43It was a really good experience.

0:13:43 > 0:13:44Never done anything like that before.

0:13:44 > 0:13:48# And now you want to pretend that you're a superstar... #

0:13:48 > 0:13:50- Really nerve-wracking.- Is it?- Yeah.

0:13:50 > 0:13:52And are you feeling nervous today?

0:13:52 > 0:13:56I feel a bit better because I'm used to it from last year.

0:13:56 > 0:13:58- Yeah.- I feel, like, a bit well-known to it.

0:13:58 > 0:14:00The second time you do something

0:14:00 > 0:14:02- is always a bit easier, I think, isn't it?- Yeah.

0:14:11 > 0:14:15# She said, I love you, boy, I love you so

0:14:15 > 0:14:20# She said, I love you, baby Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

0:14:25 > 0:14:28# She said, I love you more than words can say

0:14:28 > 0:14:33# She said, I love you, bay-ay-ay-ay-baby

0:14:41 > 0:14:44# So I said

0:14:44 > 0:14:47# What you saying, girl? It can't be right

0:14:47 > 0:14:50# How can you be in love with me?

0:14:50 > 0:14:53# We only just met tonight

0:14:53 > 0:14:55# So she said

0:14:55 > 0:14:57# Oooh

0:14:57 > 0:15:00# Boy, I loved you from the start

0:15:00 > 0:15:03# When I first heard love go down

0:15:03 > 0:15:07# Something started burning in my heart

0:15:07 > 0:15:12# I said, stop this crazy talk

0:15:12 > 0:15:17# Leave right now and close the door

0:15:19 > 0:15:22# She said, I love you, boy, I love you so

0:15:22 > 0:15:28# She said, I love you, baby Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

0:15:28 > 0:15:33# Oh, why you got to treat me this way?

0:15:33 > 0:15:37# She said. #

0:15:40 > 0:15:44- Sweets...- Yeah.- ..I love your sound.

0:15:44 > 0:15:48It sounds really recordable. Your ensemble sound -

0:15:48 > 0:15:50I want to hear it on record.

0:15:50 > 0:15:53On the other side, I want to say, your solos

0:15:53 > 0:15:55sound like you've been doing it for a few weeks

0:15:55 > 0:15:57and you're just finding your feet.

0:15:57 > 0:16:00They sounded a little bit nervous and a little bit like,

0:16:00 > 0:16:02"I'm not sure if this is working or not."

0:16:02 > 0:16:04Your ensemble sound is fabulous.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07You sound like a girl band already signed and recorded.

0:16:07 > 0:16:10- Wow.- I'm going to be completely blunt with you.

0:16:10 > 0:16:14The solos are not... You should give the solos to the strongest singers.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16That's what kind of went wrong.

0:16:16 > 0:16:18But now at least I've seen where you guys have gone wrong.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20I could see you were nervous, it's good to be nervous,

0:16:20 > 0:16:23but I think you've just got to embrace the fact

0:16:23 > 0:16:25that you are really good singers. So now you know that,

0:16:25 > 0:16:29just embrace it and go out there and do it, because you sound phenomenal.

0:16:29 > 0:16:30Thank you.

0:16:30 > 0:16:32Do you think the comments were fair? ALL: Yeah.

0:16:32 > 0:16:35We need to work on... As a group,

0:16:35 > 0:16:38we need to do more as a group, rather than, like, more solos -

0:16:38 > 0:16:41because that's what they said was our strong point -

0:16:41 > 0:16:43and our harmonies, so we'll go away and work on that.

0:16:43 > 0:16:45You see, I think they are ready.

0:16:45 > 0:16:48I think if they can take on that note,

0:16:48 > 0:16:51let go of any ego attached to singing lead

0:16:51 > 0:16:56and embrace the fact that if the group rises, everybody benefits...

0:16:56 > 0:16:59Yes. I think they'll hear that. I think they'll be able to hear that.

0:16:59 > 0:17:03- If they do, I think they've got a great sound.- Yeah.

0:17:03 > 0:17:06# She said. #

0:17:19 > 0:17:23Next up, we have Encore. They're from Harrogate.

0:17:23 > 0:17:26I was in two minds about these guys, but I thought,

0:17:26 > 0:17:29"I want to put them through just to be sure,"

0:17:29 > 0:17:32because I see some potential in them.

0:17:32 > 0:17:33See what you guys think.

0:17:33 > 0:17:36What are you going to think about before you do this performance?

0:17:36 > 0:17:39Is there anything you're worrying about or any bits you think,

0:17:39 > 0:17:41"Oh, no, that might go wrong," or is it all...?

0:17:41 > 0:17:44I'm sure we're all nervous but we're just going to enjoy it

0:17:44 > 0:17:46and have fun and do the best we can.

0:17:46 > 0:17:48- Make the most of it. - ALL: Yeah.

0:17:48 > 0:17:49'That sounds like a very good idea.'

0:18:04 > 0:18:07# Do you think of her

0:18:07 > 0:18:10# When you're with me?

0:18:10 > 0:18:15# Repeat the memories you made together

0:18:15 > 0:18:18# Whose face do you see?

0:18:18 > 0:18:21# Do you wish I was

0:18:21 > 0:18:25# A bit more like her?

0:18:25 > 0:18:26# Am I too loud?

0:18:26 > 0:18:28# I play the clown

0:18:28 > 0:18:32# To cover up all these doubts

0:18:32 > 0:18:35# Perfect heart

0:18:35 > 0:18:37# She's flawless

0:18:37 > 0:18:40# She's the other woman

0:18:40 > 0:18:44# Shining in her splendour

0:18:44 > 0:18:46# You were lost

0:18:46 > 0:18:49# Now she's gone

0:18:49 > 0:18:53# And I'm picking up the pieces

0:18:53 > 0:18:55# I watched you cry

0:18:55 > 0:19:00# But you don't see that I'm the one by your side... #

0:19:00 > 0:19:02- A lot of volume, haven't they, when they go for it?- Yeah.

0:19:04 > 0:19:07# In her shadow, is it me you see?

0:19:07 > 0:19:11# Cos all that's left is you and I

0:19:11 > 0:19:14# And I'm picking up the pieces

0:19:14 > 0:19:16# She left behind. #

0:19:21 > 0:19:24- What did you think?- Yeah, they did really, really well.

0:19:24 > 0:19:27I mean, we've rehearsed it over and over and over again.

0:19:27 > 0:19:29I hope not too much so they're not bored of it.

0:19:29 > 0:19:30But, yeah, they did quite well.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33I really enjoyed your performance

0:19:33 > 0:19:36and I'm challenged by it as well because it feels to me

0:19:36 > 0:19:40that you are a dancing school who do some singing.

0:19:40 > 0:19:43I think if you do get through to the next round,

0:19:43 > 0:19:46- we've got to hear more vocals.- OK.

0:19:46 > 0:19:48Having half of you singing

0:19:48 > 0:19:53and half of you dancing for the first two-thirds of the song...

0:19:53 > 0:19:55it shouldn't work.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58But I think you might have pulled it off,

0:19:58 > 0:20:01because when you all come together for that final third,

0:20:01 > 0:20:03suddenly it's like, "Whoa,

0:20:03 > 0:20:07"here's the energy, here's the attitude,

0:20:07 > 0:20:09"here's the attack."

0:20:09 > 0:20:13I want to see more of that. ALL: OK. Thank you.

0:20:13 > 0:20:15I'm not disappointed that I brought you back.

0:20:15 > 0:20:16There's something about you guys.

0:20:16 > 0:20:20I think if you take some of the advice and pull together

0:20:20 > 0:20:24and put some emphasis on the vocal and work on that,

0:20:24 > 0:20:27I think you could really be a dark horse.

0:20:27 > 0:20:29ALL: Thank you.

0:20:29 > 0:20:32I really enjoyed the dynamic of having the kind of singing

0:20:32 > 0:20:35on the outside and the dancing in the middle at the start.

0:20:35 > 0:20:39The vocals were good, but I think you need to balance

0:20:39 > 0:20:43the intensity of the dancing with the singing, so that it kind of matches.

0:20:43 > 0:20:47Because it was kind of... There was so much dancing that it kind of...

0:20:47 > 0:20:49it distracted a tiny bit from the singing.

0:20:49 > 0:20:51But when you were singing, it was great.

0:20:51 > 0:20:55So push it more and make it a lot more powerful and louder.

0:20:55 > 0:20:57- OK. Thank you. - ALL: Thank you.

0:20:59 > 0:21:03- Oh, they didn't squeal as they went out the door.- Ah, yeah.

0:21:03 > 0:21:05- Was I too hard? - ALL: No.

0:21:05 > 0:21:07They said a few things to you about, perhaps,

0:21:07 > 0:21:08there being a bit much dancing.

0:21:08 > 0:21:14What did you make of those comments? ALL: Fair enough.

0:21:14 > 0:21:18We did take a risk with the dancing cos we've got a lot of it and...

0:21:18 > 0:21:21I guess if you're strong dancers, you want to show that off.

0:21:21 > 0:21:23But we have a lot of strong singers as well

0:21:23 > 0:21:26so I definitely think we can pull that through.

0:21:26 > 0:21:29- We could see so much more than we've seen.- Yeah, they could...

0:21:29 > 0:21:31They're the best dancers...

0:21:31 > 0:21:34- out of anybody.- Technically, the arabesque, beautiful ballet...

0:21:34 > 0:21:37Yeah. If you put that together with the singing, if they work on that...

0:21:37 > 0:21:41Their image is good, everything about them, the way they...

0:21:41 > 0:21:43Yeah, they're confident.

0:21:43 > 0:21:45I still like them. I like them. I'm glad...

0:21:45 > 0:21:47It could be one of those that are a dark horse that you go,

0:21:47 > 0:21:52- "Let's put them through and see if they take the advice."- Exactly.

0:21:52 > 0:21:54# She left behind. #

0:22:01 > 0:22:03Four acts have now performed for the judges,

0:22:03 > 0:22:05and with four groups still to see,

0:22:05 > 0:22:09let's take a moment to remind ourselves why we're all here.

0:22:20 > 0:22:24In fact, the charity has funded over 15,000 projects in the UK,

0:23:07 > 0:23:10Some group members, you would previously know them

0:23:10 > 0:23:14- from a group called Eight Tracks. - Oh, yeah.- Yeah.

0:23:14 > 0:23:17I saw them... Colourful. They are a colourful bunch.

0:23:17 > 0:23:19A couple of them stand out more than others

0:23:19 > 0:23:22but I think they are, overall, quite enjoyable.

0:23:22 > 0:23:24Awesome. Very well worked.

0:23:30 > 0:23:34# Ain't got no troubles in my life

0:23:34 > 0:23:37# No foolish dreams to make me cry

0:23:38 > 0:23:41# I'm never frightened or worried

0:23:42 > 0:23:45# I know I'll always get by

0:23:45 > 0:23:47- # I heat up - # Heat up

0:23:47 > 0:23:49- # I cool down - # Cool down

0:23:49 > 0:23:53# When something gets in my way I go around it

0:23:53 > 0:23:57# Don't let life get me down

0:23:57 > 0:24:00# I'm going to take life the way that I found it

0:24:02 > 0:24:04# I got the music in me

0:24:04 > 0:24:06# I got the music in me

0:24:06 > 0:24:08# I got the music in me

0:24:10 > 0:24:12# I got the music in me

0:24:12 > 0:24:14# I got the music in me

0:24:14 > 0:24:16# I got the music in me

0:24:18 > 0:24:20- # Feel funky - Oooh!

0:24:20 > 0:24:22- # Feel good - Oooh!

0:24:22 > 0:24:26# Going to tell you I'm in the neighbourhood

0:24:26 > 0:24:29# Going to fly like a bird on the wing

0:24:29 > 0:24:31# Hold on to your hat, honey

0:24:31 > 0:24:33# Sing, sing, sing, sing!

0:24:33 > 0:24:36# I got the music in me

0:24:36 > 0:24:38# I got the music in me

0:24:38 > 0:24:40# I got the music in me

0:24:41 > 0:24:43# I got the music in me

0:24:43 > 0:24:45# I got the music in me

0:24:45 > 0:24:47# I got the music

0:24:48 > 0:24:53# I got the music in me

0:24:53 > 0:24:59# Yeah! #

0:25:04 > 0:25:08Fly Beat, if I could bottle up how you made me feel

0:25:08 > 0:25:10during that performance,

0:25:10 > 0:25:13I think I would have many happy days just feeding off that bottle.

0:25:13 > 0:25:17It was amazing in terms of the feeling that you guys have.

0:25:17 > 0:25:18There's so much energy.

0:25:18 > 0:25:21What I would say is it's a little bit sloppy dance-wise,

0:25:21 > 0:25:24and a little bit sloppy with the singing.

0:25:24 > 0:25:28At some point, you've got to take that energy that you've got,

0:25:28 > 0:25:31this natural, raw talent and energy,

0:25:31 > 0:25:33and look at how you really discipline it

0:25:33 > 0:25:36so that every person is doing exactly the same thing

0:25:36 > 0:25:39that they're meant to be doing at the same time.

0:25:39 > 0:25:43- But just the feel, 100% brilliant.- Thank you.

0:25:43 > 0:25:48You're exuberant, you're joyful, you made me smile,

0:25:48 > 0:25:49even though I didn't want to smile.

0:25:49 > 0:25:52I was trying to do this.

0:25:52 > 0:25:54I kept doing this.

0:25:54 > 0:26:00I didn't want to but I couldn't help myself. Your opening was great.

0:26:00 > 0:26:02Yes, you have to tighten up, yes,

0:26:02 > 0:26:05you've got to rehearse a bit more to make sure everything is in line,

0:26:05 > 0:26:09but what you have there is just a burst of energy

0:26:09 > 0:26:12that is fantastic to watch.

0:26:12 > 0:26:14ALL: Thank you.

0:26:14 > 0:26:17Guys, you were incredible. It was amazing.

0:26:17 > 0:26:19I wanted to get up there and dance with you.

0:26:19 > 0:26:23When you went into the splits, I was like, "Did he actually just do that?

0:26:23 > 0:26:25"That was incredible." And your dancing - I loved it.

0:26:25 > 0:26:27And when you hit that high note,

0:26:27 > 0:26:30I was, like, giving you all virtual high-fives. Well done, guys.

0:26:30 > 0:26:32- I really enjoyed it. - ALL: Thank you.

0:26:32 > 0:26:36How are you all feeling after that? ALL: Really good.

0:26:36 > 0:26:39- Speechless.- Are you? What was it like?

0:26:39 > 0:26:43When you've just got the opportunity to do that,

0:26:43 > 0:26:45you just wanted to give it your all

0:26:45 > 0:26:48and show them that you had the music in you.

0:26:48 > 0:26:50And do you think you did that? ALL: Yeah.

0:26:50 > 0:26:51It's a funny one, that one, isn't it?

0:26:51 > 0:26:53Cos everything in you goes,

0:26:53 > 0:26:55- "Is their singing that great?" - ALL: No.

0:26:55 > 0:26:58- "Is their dancing that great?" - Definitely not.- No.

0:26:58 > 0:27:01"Do you really like them?" Yes!

0:27:01 > 0:27:03Are they entertaining?

0:27:03 > 0:27:06- Yeah.- Yes, 100%. - They are very entertaining.

0:27:06 > 0:27:09- Would you want to see that again? - Yes.- Absolutely.

0:27:09 > 0:27:12- It's not all about the voice. - It's not all about the voice.

0:27:12 > 0:27:16And that showed there cos that was really cool.

0:27:16 > 0:27:19# Yeah! #

0:27:21 > 0:27:23KIDS ALL CHEER

0:27:23 > 0:27:24JUDGES: Aww!

0:27:31 > 0:27:34Right, next up, it's Resonate. I first saw these guys in London

0:27:34 > 0:27:37and they came all the way up from the Isle of Wight.

0:27:43 > 0:27:47- How are you feeling today? - Excited.- Really excited.

0:27:47 > 0:27:50Looking forward to this? How much rehearsal have you been doing?

0:27:50 > 0:27:52ALL: Lots.

0:27:52 > 0:27:54Been getting together regularly? ALL: Yeah.

0:27:54 > 0:27:57Most weeks we've been getting together. A few hours a week.

0:27:57 > 0:27:59They're doing a song that... well, I like,

0:27:59 > 0:28:01but also I like the version they've done.

0:28:01 > 0:28:05There's something about them again very Glee-esque. I liked it.

0:28:05 > 0:28:07That's quite special, I like that.

0:28:11 > 0:28:13# It's over and done

0:28:13 > 0:28:15# But the heartache lives on

0:28:15 > 0:28:19# Inside

0:28:19 > 0:28:21# Yeah, yeah

0:28:21 > 0:28:25# And who is the one you're singing to

0:28:25 > 0:28:30# Instead of me tonight

0:28:30 > 0:28:34# And where are you now?

0:28:34 > 0:28:37# Now that I need you

0:28:37 > 0:28:40# Tears on my pillow

0:28:40 > 0:28:42# Wherever you go

0:28:42 > 0:28:44# Cry me a river

0:28:44 > 0:28:48# That leads to your ocean

0:28:48 > 0:28:51# You'll never see me fall apart

0:28:51 > 0:28:54# In the words of a broken heart

0:28:54 > 0:28:58# It's just emotion taking me over

0:28:58 > 0:29:01# Caught up in sorrow

0:29:01 > 0:29:04# Lost in the song

0:29:04 > 0:29:07# But if you don't come back

0:29:07 > 0:29:10# Come back to me, darling

0:29:10 > 0:29:12# Don't you know there's nobody left

0:29:12 > 0:29:15# In this world to hold me tight

0:29:15 > 0:29:17# Don't you know

0:29:17 > 0:29:22# There's nobody left in this world to kiss good night

0:29:22 > 0:29:26- # Good night - # Good night, good night

0:29:28 > 0:29:34# Good night. #

0:29:38 > 0:29:43Well done, firstly. That was... The vocals were really soothing

0:29:43 > 0:29:46and smooth, like I could have sat and listened to that sound all day.

0:29:46 > 0:29:48Very angelic, um...

0:29:48 > 0:29:53One slight criticism, I feel like there was

0:29:53 > 0:29:56maybe a tiny bit too much choreography.

0:29:56 > 0:29:59And it was a bit distracting from how beautiful the sound was.

0:29:59 > 0:30:02But other than that, it sounded brilliant, and essentially

0:30:02 > 0:30:05that's what it should be about, the vocals, so well done.

0:30:05 > 0:30:07Thank you.

0:30:07 > 0:30:10I absolutely loved that song and the good news is I still love it.

0:30:10 > 0:30:14So I think for you guys, from what I've seen

0:30:14 > 0:30:17as well, you are singers first,

0:30:17 > 0:30:21and I think the choreography actually prevented you from

0:30:21 > 0:30:24engaging and telling the story in that

0:30:24 > 0:30:26because you're thinking of your moves.

0:30:26 > 0:30:29You kind of get distracted and that's what I'd say as well.

0:30:29 > 0:30:32Just focus on what you're really good at

0:30:32 > 0:30:34and be minimalistic in the other areas.

0:30:34 > 0:30:38You could drop all your choreography as far as I'm concerned.

0:30:38 > 0:30:39I felt that that compromised

0:30:39 > 0:30:42the beautiful faces that were there from time to time

0:30:42 > 0:30:45and then you'd forget to do the face thing

0:30:45 > 0:30:48because you're so busy thinking, "Am I stepping to the right

0:30:48 > 0:30:51"or am I stepping to the left?" Drop a lot of that.

0:30:51 > 0:30:54The vocals are beautiful.

0:30:54 > 0:30:55The inner life is beautiful.

0:30:55 > 0:30:58Those are the key elements of performance

0:30:58 > 0:31:00that you as a group need to bring forth.

0:31:00 > 0:31:02OK, thank you very much, thank you.

0:31:02 > 0:31:04I didn't like that one, though.

0:31:04 > 0:31:06LAUGHTER Let's do it.

0:31:06 > 0:31:08- From that...ready?- Am I taking it?

0:31:08 > 0:31:10- What's this?- You don't notice anything,

0:31:10 > 0:31:13- you're so busy listening to singing.- Yeah.

0:31:25 > 0:31:28So, that was Fly Beat and Resonate, two very different

0:31:28 > 0:31:32but equally entertaining groups, giving it their all.

0:31:32 > 0:31:34Now for today's final two acts.

0:31:34 > 0:31:36Will their nerves get the better of them?

0:31:36 > 0:31:40I'm trying to work out why you're not more confident.

0:31:40 > 0:31:43Watching you there, you look like a bunch of rehearse-aholics.

0:31:43 > 0:31:48A tiny bit more energy and that would have been just perfect.

0:31:55 > 0:31:59Right, next up we have Blue Note from County Durham.

0:31:59 > 0:32:02# True love... #

0:32:02 > 0:32:04I saw these guys and thought to myself,

0:32:04 > 0:32:09slightly older, more mature sound and I really liked them.

0:32:09 > 0:32:14I just felt, when they sang, they had some emotion to give,

0:32:14 > 0:32:16so I hope you like them.

0:32:16 > 0:32:19What do you think it's going to be like in there?

0:32:19 > 0:32:22- What do you imagine the experience will be like?- Petrifying!

0:32:22 > 0:32:25- Do you think?- It'll be really nerve-wracking.

0:32:25 > 0:32:27But at the same time, just enjoy it

0:32:27 > 0:32:30because it could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

0:32:32 > 0:32:35# Yeah, yeah, yeah

0:32:35 > 0:32:38# Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

0:32:38 > 0:32:41# Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah

0:32:41 > 0:32:43# Ooh

0:32:43 > 0:32:44# Yeah

0:32:44 > 0:32:46# You and I

0:32:46 > 0:32:48# Bloodline

0:32:48 > 0:32:53# We come together every time

0:32:53 > 0:32:55# Ooh

0:32:55 > 0:32:59# Two wrongs, no rights

0:32:59 > 0:33:04# We lose ourselves at night

0:33:04 > 0:33:06# Ooh

0:33:06 > 0:33:09# From the outside From the outside

0:33:09 > 0:33:14# Everyone must be wondering why we try

0:33:14 > 0:33:18# Why do we try?

0:33:18 > 0:33:21# Baby, in our wildest moments

0:33:21 > 0:33:24# We can be the greatest... #

0:33:24 > 0:33:26That sounds lovely.

0:33:26 > 0:33:28# ..Moments

0:33:28 > 0:33:30# We could be the worst of all

0:33:30 > 0:33:33# Baby, in our wildest moments

0:33:33 > 0:33:34# Hey, babe

0:33:34 > 0:33:37# We could be the greatest We could be the greatest

0:33:37 > 0:33:39# Baby, in our wildest moments

0:33:39 > 0:33:42# We could be the worst of all

0:33:42 > 0:33:44# Yeah, in the middle of it

0:33:44 > 0:33:46# We walk, we walk the line

0:33:46 > 0:33:47# Looking back, I miss it

0:33:47 > 0:33:51# Ooh

0:33:51 > 0:33:55# Ooh, worst of all. #

0:33:58 > 0:34:01- What do you think of that? - I think they did really well.

0:34:01 > 0:34:04I think some of the nerves in the beginning shone through

0:34:04 > 0:34:06but they coped really well.

0:34:06 > 0:34:11You guys have completely confused me because I think you're fantastic.

0:34:11 > 0:34:14But I'm trying to work out why you're not more confident.

0:34:14 > 0:34:17Because you all look terrified.

0:34:17 > 0:34:20And you shouldn't be because you should be more confident

0:34:20 > 0:34:22with that kind of talent.

0:34:22 > 0:34:26I would be like, "Yee-hee, listen to me, I'm great!" So yeah,

0:34:26 > 0:34:29just build on your confidence, it's all there.

0:34:29 > 0:34:32I think that the attitude you should have

0:34:32 > 0:34:34should be one of absolute conviction.

0:34:34 > 0:34:37Not just being in the moment, but being like,

0:34:37 > 0:34:41hitting it, throwing it out there with confidence

0:34:41 > 0:34:45because there are different levels of conviction and intensity.

0:34:45 > 0:34:47Therefore you should come into it

0:34:47 > 0:34:51with the attitude, you're either going to like this or love it.

0:34:51 > 0:34:54- Hm.- I absolutely love it. You're all so individual,

0:34:54 > 0:34:59so you've all got a completely different tone and style of voice

0:34:59 > 0:35:04and it all comes together beautifully. You performed amazingly.

0:35:04 > 0:35:07I will say I'd love to see a tiny bit more energy

0:35:07 > 0:35:11cos it's really exciting to see you all with these fantastic voices

0:35:11 > 0:35:15but it's almost like you're not sure of how great you are

0:35:15 > 0:35:17so you're not sure individually

0:35:17 > 0:35:20just how fantastic and great you sound together.

0:35:20 > 0:35:24So a tiny bit more energy and that would have been perfect.

0:35:24 > 0:35:26Thank you.

0:35:26 > 0:35:28Was it a surprise what they said to you?

0:35:28 > 0:35:31I think it was a surprise because Catherine said we needed

0:35:31 > 0:35:34to up our energy and we were trying, but with such a slow song,

0:35:34 > 0:35:38with simple movement, it's hard to energise it.

0:35:38 > 0:35:40I just felt they were beating themselves up

0:35:40 > 0:35:43halfway through the performance even.

0:35:43 > 0:35:46- They were all so positive, but it still seemed like...- I know.

0:35:46 > 0:35:49You're right. We're trying to build their confidence up

0:35:49 > 0:35:51and they're losing confidence as we're giving them comments.

0:35:51 > 0:35:55I think that what you got there was a classic example

0:35:55 > 0:35:58of people waiting for us to tell them

0:35:58 > 0:36:00whether they were good or not,

0:36:00 > 0:36:04rather than them standing there trying to show us how good they are.

0:36:04 > 0:36:06# ..Worst of all. #

0:36:14 > 0:36:19Right, next up we have Raveheart. They're from Motherwell.

0:36:19 > 0:36:20I saw them in Glasgow.

0:36:20 > 0:36:21Hello, girls!

0:36:21 > 0:36:25'Quite frankly, as far as performance is concerned,

0:36:25 > 0:36:27'I think they set the bar.'

0:36:27 > 0:36:30So I'm hoping they do exactly what they did for me.

0:36:30 > 0:36:35Both vocally and choreographically they function as a unit.

0:36:35 > 0:36:37Tight, and it's a wall of sound.

0:36:37 > 0:36:39THEY SHOUT

0:36:41 > 0:36:45# Mama told me not to waste my life

0:36:45 > 0:36:46# She said

0:36:46 > 0:36:49# Spread your wings My little butterfly

0:36:49 > 0:36:54# Don't let what they say keep you up at night

0:36:54 > 0:36:56# And if they give you ssh

0:36:56 > 0:36:58# Then they can walk on by

0:36:58 > 0:37:02# My feet, they can't touch the ground

0:37:02 > 0:37:03# And I can't hear a sound

0:37:03 > 0:37:07# But you just keep on running up your mouth, yeah

0:37:07 > 0:37:10# Walk, walk, walk on over there

0:37:10 > 0:37:13# Cos I'm too fly to care

0:37:13 > 0:37:15# Oh, yeah

0:37:15 > 0:37:18# Your words don't mean a thing

0:37:18 > 0:37:20# I'm not listening

0:37:20 > 0:37:22# Keep talking

0:37:22 > 0:37:24# All I know is

0:37:24 > 0:37:27# Mama told me not to waste my life

0:37:27 > 0:37:29# She said spread your wings

0:37:29 > 0:37:31# My little butterfly

0:37:31 > 0:37:36# Don't let what they say keep you up at night

0:37:36 > 0:37:38# And they can't detain you

0:37:38 > 0:37:42# These wings are made to fly

0:37:42 > 0:37:46# And we'll let nobody bring us down

0:37:46 > 0:37:51# No matter what they say it won't hurt me

0:37:51 > 0:37:55# No matter if I fall from the sky

0:37:55 > 0:37:58# These wings are made to fly

0:37:58 > 0:38:02# And we'll let nobody bring us down

0:38:02 > 0:38:07# No matter what they say it won't hurt me

0:38:07 > 0:38:11# No matter if I fall from the sky

0:38:11 > 0:38:14# These wings are made to fly. #

0:38:20 > 0:38:23Watching you there, you look like a bunch of rehearse-aholics.

0:38:23 > 0:38:28You absolutely were able to just perform because you knew

0:38:28 > 0:38:32what you were doing, you didn't look like you were thinking about steps,

0:38:32 > 0:38:34the notes, what arm to use when,

0:38:34 > 0:38:36you just did it.

0:38:36 > 0:38:39And as far as I'm concerned, from what I've seen there,

0:38:39 > 0:38:41anybody who wants to win this

0:38:41 > 0:38:46is going to have to kick and scratch and push past you.

0:38:46 > 0:38:48Thank you.

0:38:48 > 0:38:50Wow!

0:38:50 > 0:38:53Bringing you back, it was a no-brainer.

0:38:53 > 0:38:55You definitely set the bar for me.

0:38:55 > 0:38:58You're a strong group, strong contenders,

0:38:58 > 0:39:01there's energy, chemistry, there's everything, really.

0:39:01 > 0:39:05I think, whatever we give you and whatever is thrown at you,

0:39:05 > 0:39:09you will deliver and, yes, you will rehearse it to death.

0:39:09 > 0:39:11Yes, yes.

0:39:11 > 0:39:13There was a small timing issue,

0:39:13 > 0:39:15but I put that down to you were so rehearsed

0:39:15 > 0:39:18and you practised it so much and when you get there,

0:39:18 > 0:39:21you just want it to be done cos you're so nervous.

0:39:21 > 0:39:24So I completely understand that. Just chill out next time

0:39:24 > 0:39:27cos you're so good, so, so, so good.

0:39:27 > 0:39:30You don't need to worry about getting to the end.

0:39:30 > 0:39:32Thank you.

0:39:32 > 0:39:34- How was it?- Amazing.

0:39:34 > 0:39:36Are you all a bit teary? Oh!

0:39:36 > 0:39:39So you really enjoyed it in there?

0:39:39 > 0:39:41- Yeah.- Proper good?

0:39:41 > 0:39:46You guys seem really determined to do well in this competition.

0:39:46 > 0:39:50- Yeah, we are.- We're determined. We know we're well in,

0:39:50 > 0:39:53we just give it 100% always and we are so dedicated

0:39:53 > 0:39:56and we'd love to get the chance to go further, it'd be brilliant.

0:39:56 > 0:39:59I can see it means an awful lot to you.

0:39:59 > 0:40:02There are a couple of weaker performers in there,

0:40:02 > 0:40:04- intensity-wise.- I definitely agree.

0:40:04 > 0:40:07It's different and they do need to decide...

0:40:07 > 0:40:11This little girl at the front is just giving it large.

0:40:11 > 0:40:14- And the one on the right.- She needs to calm down a bit,

0:40:14 > 0:40:17otherwise all the time my eyes are thinking

0:40:17 > 0:40:19why am I being confused by this performance?

0:40:19 > 0:40:24My eyes get drawn to this side, away from the ones who aren't as sharp.

0:40:24 > 0:40:28So either they go towards the cooler end

0:40:28 > 0:40:31or they all have to give 100% energy.

0:40:31 > 0:40:34# ..These wings are made to fly. #

0:40:40 > 0:40:42So, here's a quick reminder of the glee clubs

0:40:42 > 0:40:45that performed for the judges on today's show.

0:40:45 > 0:40:46M.A.D from London.

0:40:46 > 0:40:50# ..Move all my beats so I can dance... #

0:40:50 > 0:40:54Triple Threat from Falkirk.

0:40:54 > 0:40:56# ..Knowing what this world's about

0:40:56 > 0:40:59# And watching some good friends screaming

0:40:59 > 0:41:01# Let me out... #

0:41:03 > 0:41:05The Sweets from Essex.

0:41:05 > 0:41:07# ..I love you so

0:41:12 > 0:41:16Encore from Harrogate.

0:41:17 > 0:41:21# In the shadow is it me you seek... #

0:41:23 > 0:41:25Fly Beat from London.

0:41:25 > 0:41:26# ..I cool down

0:41:26 > 0:41:29# When something gets in my way

0:41:29 > 0:41:31# I go round it... #

0:41:31 > 0:41:35Resonate from the Isle of Wight.

0:41:35 > 0:41:38# ..Lost in the song... #

0:41:38 > 0:41:40# ..Oh... #

0:41:40 > 0:41:43Blue Note from County Durham.

0:41:43 > 0:41:45# ..Bloodline

0:41:45 > 0:41:49# We come together every time... #

0:41:49 > 0:41:54And finally, Raveheart from Motherwell.

0:41:55 > 0:41:58# ..These wings are made to fly. #

0:42:04 > 0:42:06OK, so all today's groups have now performed,

0:42:06 > 0:42:10but remember, not everyone can make it to the next round.

0:42:10 > 0:42:14Let's join our experts to see who from this first judges' audition show

0:42:14 > 0:42:17has made it through to the studio heats.

0:42:17 > 0:42:19Fingers crossed they all agree.

0:42:19 > 0:42:23- We loved these, didn't we? - Absolutely.- Definite?- Yes.

0:42:23 > 0:42:26- So a definite, yeah?- Yes. - Yeah, they were my favourites.

0:42:26 > 0:42:29- Were they?- OK, that's a definite then.

0:42:29 > 0:42:32- That's good so far. - So we need two more.

0:42:32 > 0:42:34Too dancery for me.

0:42:34 > 0:42:39- John, you don't agree with that, do you?- Very different to me.

0:42:39 > 0:42:40I can't even compare the two.

0:42:40 > 0:42:44You can't judge the singing with the dancing. Definite no for me.

0:42:44 > 0:42:46- For me, definite no.- They're not ready.- OK.- It's too early.

0:42:46 > 0:42:49Now, we have one more place left. On three,

0:42:49 > 0:42:52let's point to the one we think should go through. One, two,

0:42:52 > 0:42:54three.

0:42:54 > 0:42:56Outvoted.

0:42:56 > 0:42:59Democracy is overrated.

0:43:03 > 0:43:08So, the five glee clubs going through to the studio heat are...

0:43:21 > 0:43:23..and finally...

0:43:27 > 0:43:31So, there you have it, the first five groups have made it through

0:43:31 > 0:43:35to the studio heats and one step closer to the live shows.

0:43:35 > 0:43:38Thanks to Carrie, David, John and all our celebrity guests.
