0:07:00 > 0:07:02Their voices were beautiful.

0:07:02 > 0:07:05The ensemble, I felt was like a game of two halves.

0:07:05 > 0:07:07The first half was a little sloppy.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11And then we got to the second half and you suddenly locked in

0:07:11 > 0:07:13and then we got what you were really about.

0:07:13 > 0:07:16- So, well done for that. - ALL: Thank you.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19Great song choice. You sang it really well.

0:07:19 > 0:07:22You are cuter than the cutest thing in cute town.

0:07:22 > 0:07:26And I felt that it got better and better as it went on.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29I think technically, there were little bits that weren't

0:07:29 > 0:07:33perfect, but there's something about you that really makes me happy.

0:07:33 > 0:07:36You've got a lovely energy that you bring to the stage

0:07:36 > 0:07:38and you give off as you perform.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05That's always nice when they smile back at you.

0:08:05 > 0:08:08I think they're going to be one of those that we deliberate over.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10I still like them.

0:08:10 > 0:08:13I look at the chemistry, I look at the personality,

0:08:13 > 0:08:17- the performance, the stage presence. - And how they make you feel.

0:08:17 > 0:08:21Some of them are more polished and technically better,

0:08:21 > 0:08:25but are you then losing the authenticity of a group like that

0:08:25 > 0:08:27and is that a nice thing to have?

0:08:32 > 0:08:36Good afternoon. You guys look really cool.

0:08:36 > 0:08:39'Next, we have Fresh from Glasgow.

0:08:45 > 0:08:50- Is there anything you're very worried about today?- The harmonies.

0:08:50 > 0:08:51The harmonies.

0:08:51 > 0:08:55- Why? Have they been going wrong in rehearsal?- Sometimes.

0:10:36 > 0:10:40THEY APPLAUD

0:10:40 > 0:10:44Your actual vocal sound together is really good.

0:10:44 > 0:10:49You sound like you've sung together for a long time.

0:10:49 > 0:10:52And that really works. That's one of your big strengths.

0:10:52 > 0:10:56Your timing is a bit of an issue. You're rushing a bit.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59Some tuning issues in the harmony, but as a group,

0:10:59 > 0:11:03that sound that you produce is really unmatched

0:11:03 > 0:11:05and the energy that you give off,

0:11:05 > 0:11:09- you just put a smile on my face and that's the effect you have.- I agree.

0:11:09 > 0:11:13Song choice was great and the dance routines, the vocals,

0:11:13 > 0:11:16- everything just matched really well. Well done.- ALL:- Thank you.

0:11:18 > 0:11:21Well done, guys.

0:11:27 > 0:11:32- What was the best thing about that? - They said the harmonies were good!

0:11:32 > 0:11:34Yay!

0:11:34 > 0:11:38And what did you think about when they told you that you might

0:11:38 > 0:11:41- need to slow down at points?- Yeah.

0:11:41 > 0:11:44I quite like some parts but when we were going off musically,

0:11:44 > 0:11:48- it was...- Did you hear it happening as you were doing it?- Yeah.

0:11:48 > 0:11:51- Did you? - It was cos we were excited.- Yeah.

0:11:51 > 0:11:55- It was all constructive criticism. - Exactly.

0:11:55 > 0:11:58- You're going to take that away and work on it?- Yeah.

0:11:58 > 0:12:01I think the timing was off in the dance. They haven't changed.

0:12:01 > 0:12:05- They're rushing.- It's because they have so much energy.

0:12:05 > 0:12:08- The question is, are they ready? - They're very young.

0:12:08 > 0:12:11I've noticed that and you've been watching them too.

0:12:11 > 0:12:15- But I haven't seen anything like that.- I think that is the appeal.

0:12:15 > 0:12:19- I haven't seen anything like them and their blend is great.- It is.

0:12:19 > 0:12:22- I really like their blend. - Like it.

0:12:22 > 0:12:26# Don't stop movin' to the funky, funky beat. #

0:12:31 > 0:12:34With Excellar8 changing a soloist at the last minute

0:12:34 > 0:12:37and Fresh needing to work on their timing,

0:12:37 > 0:12:39neither is guaranteed a place in the next round.

0:12:39 > 0:12:42Next up, another two groups sing their hearts out.

0:12:42 > 0:12:46You have strengths and you have an identity.

0:12:46 > 0:12:48It's out of tune all the way through.

0:12:48 > 0:12:53I did see glimpses throughout of total performance and brilliance.

0:12:58 > 0:13:02One, two, three, four, five, six, seven...

0:13:03 > 0:13:09'Right, the next act up is Impact from West Sussex.'

0:13:09 > 0:13:14And some of the group members, they auditioned as part of The Tempests.

0:13:14 > 0:13:19# We built this city on rock'n'roll... #

0:13:19 > 0:13:23It'll be quite interesting to see what you think.

0:13:23 > 0:13:27# Made a wrong turn once or twice

0:13:27 > 0:13:32# Dug my way out, blood and fire

0:13:32 > 0:13:37# Bad decisions, that's all right

0:13:37 > 0:13:42# Welcome to my silly life

0:13:42 > 0:13:47# Mistreated Misplaced, misunderstood

0:13:47 > 0:13:50# Miss knowing it's no good

0:13:50 > 0:13:53# It didn't slow me down

0:13:53 > 0:13:58# Mistaken, always second guessing

0:13:58 > 0:14:05# Underestimating Look, I'm still around

0:14:05 > 0:14:10# Pretty, pretty, please Don't you ever, ever feel

0:14:10 > 0:14:15# Like you're less than Less than perfect

0:14:15 > 0:14:21# Pretty, pretty, please Don't you ever, ever feel

0:14:21 > 0:14:27# Like you're nothing You are perfect to me

0:14:28 > 0:14:31# You're perfect to me

0:14:31 > 0:14:37# It's perfect, you're perfect We're perfect

0:14:37 > 0:14:42# Pretty, pretty, please Don't you ever, ever feel

0:14:42 > 0:14:47# Like you're nothing You are perfect

0:14:47 > 0:14:51# To me. #

0:14:51 > 0:14:52Aw.

0:14:52 > 0:14:55THEY APPLAUD

0:14:55 > 0:15:00- You feel they've done it better?- Yes. - Do you think that's nerves?- Yeah.

0:15:00 > 0:15:01I think one girl particularly,

0:15:01 > 0:15:03who's doing the middle line harmony, just lost it.

0:15:03 > 0:15:05She didn't do it at all. It's just nerves.

0:15:05 > 0:15:08Impact, wow!

0:15:08 > 0:15:11Your soloists, can I just say, that is some of the best vocal

0:15:11 > 0:15:16technique that I have heard in young people for a very, very long time.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19Absolutely stunning soloists.

0:15:19 > 0:15:21ALL: Thank you.

0:15:21 > 0:15:24Really, I'm really blown away by your solos. Amazing.

0:15:24 > 0:15:30Ensemble wise, it's pitchy. So it's out of tune all the way through.

0:15:30 > 0:15:33I'm sure when you watch it back you'll think,

0:15:33 > 0:15:35"Oh, my gosh, we are really out of tune there."

0:15:35 > 0:15:37You need to work out amongst yourselves who are the people

0:15:37 > 0:15:41that are going out of tune, and really help them to just bring it up

0:15:41 > 0:15:42so it doesn't slip down.

0:15:42 > 0:15:44It was quite a good performance.

0:15:44 > 0:15:49I think your theatrical presentation was great, staging was great,

0:15:49 > 0:15:51individual voices - fantastic.

0:15:51 > 0:15:53I think you have potential.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56Whether you make it to the next round, well, we'll have to see.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58The song itself,

0:15:58 > 0:16:01I thought you performed it like you knew what you were singing about.

0:16:01 > 0:16:04I think it's really hard for certain people to go on stage

0:16:04 > 0:16:06and sing a song and not know what they are singing about.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09But all of you definitely made that shine through.

0:16:09 > 0:16:13I could see you knew what you were singing about. So well done, guys.

0:16:15 > 0:16:18- How was it?- Great. - It was really good.- A lot of fun.

0:16:18 > 0:16:21It was nerve-wracking but I think it's just a great experience.

0:16:21 > 0:16:24They did make a few comments, a few critical comments, a few positive

0:16:24 > 0:16:28comments. What were your reactions to the judges and what they said?

0:16:28 > 0:16:31I think they were very fair. We are definitely going to work on it.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33We are going to perfect it.

0:16:33 > 0:16:36Having that criticism is really, really good.

0:16:36 > 0:16:37That's a good way of looking at it.

0:16:37 > 0:16:39I think we all agreed that

0:16:39 > 0:16:41they sing the song like they really understand it.

0:16:41 > 0:16:44They've got an emotional intelligence.

0:16:44 > 0:16:47They've got performance ability. They performed it really well.

0:16:47 > 0:16:50They have vocal talent and vocal technique.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54The fact that they were pitchy,

0:16:54 > 0:16:58do we believe that that is something that they can fix?

0:16:58 > 0:17:01Because if it isn't, they can't go through.

0:17:01 > 0:17:03If it is, they've got everything else.

0:17:03 > 0:17:10# You are perfect to me. #

0:17:17 > 0:17:20'Next up it's True To Your Skool from Doncaster.

0:17:20 > 0:17:25'An all-girl group, they've got good chemistry and interaction.'

0:17:25 > 0:17:28I think they've something different about them - a lot of soul.

0:17:28 > 0:17:31They've just got energy. Let's see what you think.

0:17:31 > 0:17:33Are you looking forward to it? ALL: Yes!

0:17:33 > 0:17:34How are you feeling?

0:17:34 > 0:17:38- Just excited! Just excited!- Excited to see the judges and sing.

0:17:38 > 0:17:41And it's a great opportunity, so we should make the most of it.

0:17:41 > 0:17:42ALL: Yes!

0:17:42 > 0:17:44Shall we take a deep breath together?

0:17:44 > 0:17:46THEY BREATHE DEEPLY

0:17:46 > 0:17:48All right, take it away.

0:17:50 > 0:17:54# Ah ah ah

0:17:56 > 0:17:59# Ah ah ah ah

0:18:01 > 0:18:05# Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

0:18:05 > 0:18:08# Ah ah

0:18:08 > 0:18:10# Oh oh oh

0:18:10 > 0:18:16# Oh oh oh oh

0:18:16 > 0:18:18# Hold me

0:18:18 > 0:18:21# Like the River Jordan

0:18:21 > 0:18:24# And I will then say to thee

0:18:24 > 0:18:28# You are my friend

0:18:28 > 0:18:30# Carry me

0:18:30 > 0:18:32# Like you are my brother

0:18:32 > 0:18:35# Love me like a mother

0:18:35 > 0:18:38# Will you be there?

0:18:38 > 0:18:41# Everyone's taking control of me

0:18:41 > 0:18:44# Seems that the world's got a role for me

0:18:44 > 0:18:47# I'm so confused will you show to me?

0:18:47 > 0:18:49# You be there for me and care enough to... #

0:18:49 > 0:18:51They're giving it some.

0:18:51 > 0:18:53- # Hold me - Show me

0:18:53 > 0:18:55- # Lay your head lowly - Tell me

0:18:55 > 0:18:58- # Softly then boldly - Yeah

0:18:58 > 0:19:01# Carry me there

0:19:01 > 0:19:05# I'm only human

0:19:05 > 0:19:06# Feed me

0:19:06 > 0:19:09# Kiss me and free me

0:19:09 > 0:19:12# I will feel blessed

0:19:12 > 0:19:17# Will you be there? #

0:19:17 > 0:19:20THEY APPLAUD

0:19:22 > 0:19:24I've never seen some of them look so nervous.

0:19:24 > 0:19:27- Bless them, they've all got little red cheeks, haven't they?- Yeah.

0:19:27 > 0:19:30The way you started that performance was really unique

0:19:30 > 0:19:33and different to anything we've seen today.

0:19:33 > 0:19:36I think, for me personally, as soon as it started

0:19:36 > 0:19:38I was interested to see where it was going to go.

0:19:38 > 0:19:42It was like you were welcoming all your friends on stage to perform.

0:19:42 > 0:19:43Which was really good,

0:19:43 > 0:19:46because it makes you kind of like strong as a unit.

0:19:46 > 0:19:48So I was interested to see what you were going to do.

0:19:48 > 0:19:51I did see glimpses throughout of total performance

0:19:51 > 0:19:53and brilliance, potentially.

0:19:53 > 0:19:56The one thing I'd have to say, just some advice,

0:19:56 > 0:19:57it has to be consistent.

0:19:57 > 0:20:00You have to stay engaged throughout the performance.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03The first half was much stronger than the second.

0:20:03 > 0:20:05I don't know what happened in the second half, for me,

0:20:05 > 0:20:07you kind of lost that energy.

0:20:07 > 0:20:10But I still see there is potential for you guys to

0:20:10 > 0:20:13function as a unit and be very, very powerful.

0:20:13 > 0:20:16I think what showed, particularly in the way you began this,

0:20:16 > 0:20:20is you have strength and you have an identity.

0:20:20 > 0:20:23What you didn't do was play to your strengths throughout.

0:20:23 > 0:20:25The first half was really good.

0:20:25 > 0:20:28What I think happened in the second half is,

0:20:28 > 0:20:31there are two key changes, by the time it gets to the end

0:20:31 > 0:20:34it's gone out of a part of your voice where all of you are strong.

0:20:34 > 0:20:36And so there's a change of sound.

0:20:36 > 0:20:39When you're in your comfort zone,

0:20:39 > 0:20:42in the bit where you all work together, the sound is beautiful.

0:20:42 > 0:20:44ALL: Thank you.

0:20:44 > 0:20:47What do you think about what the judges said?

0:20:47 > 0:20:49Cos they all pretty much said the first half was great

0:20:49 > 0:20:51- and the second half... - Yeah.- ..not so great.

0:20:51 > 0:20:52THEY ALL MURMUR IN AGREEMENT

0:20:52 > 0:20:54Do you think that was a fair comment?

0:20:54 > 0:20:56- Yeah.- ALL: Yes.

0:20:58 > 0:21:00And did you enjoy it?

0:21:00 > 0:21:02THEY GIGGLE AND SHOUT

0:21:02 > 0:21:04It was amazing!

0:21:04 > 0:21:07There was one girl in there who didn't have a solo,

0:21:07 > 0:21:11whose voice was the key that locked the whole blend together.

0:21:11 > 0:21:15And if that's your role, that's as important a role as the solo is.

0:21:15 > 0:21:16Not everybody has to have a solo.

0:21:16 > 0:21:19- It's clever the way they did it though.- It was really clever.

0:21:19 > 0:21:21Like what you said, for a Michael Jackson song,

0:21:21 > 0:21:24the way they started was kind of operatic.

0:21:24 > 0:21:25There was a bit of ballet in there. Love it.

0:21:25 > 0:21:28It's the angelic voices, that kind of choir.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30Very brave.

0:21:30 > 0:21:35# Will you be there? #

0:21:41 > 0:21:44Four of today's acts have now performed for the judges,

0:21:44 > 0:21:46and with four groups still to see

0:21:46 > 0:21:49let's take a moment to remind ourselves why we're all here.

0:21:54 > 0:21:58incredibly difficult lives by funding projects all over Africa,

0:21:58 > 0:22:00as well as right here in the UK.

0:22:01 > 0:22:05In fact, the charity has funded over 15,000 projects in the UK.

0:22:34 > 0:22:36Thank you.

0:22:45 > 0:22:48Right, next up we've got Musicality.

0:22:48 > 0:22:50Welcome!

0:22:50 > 0:22:52I first saw these guys in Cardiff.

0:22:52 > 0:22:55I think you'll find the opening soloist very interesting.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58What do you think it's going to be like in there?

0:22:58 > 0:23:01Very exciting.

0:23:01 > 0:23:03Have you ever been in a television studio before?

0:23:03 > 0:23:06- We did this last year. - You were here last year?!

0:23:06 > 0:23:10# On a mountain so high it can be... #

0:23:10 > 0:23:12They were the newbies.

0:23:12 > 0:23:15What have you told these guys about what it feels like

0:23:15 > 0:23:16when you're on the stage?

0:23:16 > 0:23:18It's really exciting. You've got to ignore the cameras.

0:23:18 > 0:23:20And just enjoy it.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22They are ready for you, are you ready for them?

0:23:22 > 0:23:23ALL: Yes!

0:23:30 > 0:23:33# Joyful, joyful

0:23:33 > 0:23:37# Lord we adore Thee

0:23:37 > 0:23:42# God of Glory, Lord of Love

0:23:44 > 0:23:50# Giver of immortal gladness

0:23:51 > 0:23:56# Fill us with the light of day

0:24:02 > 0:24:04# Joyful, joyful

0:24:04 > 0:24:06# Lord we adore Thee

0:24:06 > 0:24:10# God of Glory, Lord of Love

0:24:10 > 0:24:14# Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee

0:24:14 > 0:24:18# Hail Thee as the sun above

0:24:18 > 0:24:22# Melt the clouds of sin sin and sadness

0:24:22 > 0:24:25# Drive the dark of doubt away

0:24:25 > 0:24:27# Drive it away

0:24:27 > 0:24:30# Giver of immortal gladness

0:24:31 > 0:24:34# What have you done for Him lately?

0:24:35 > 0:24:37# Oooh oooh yeah

0:24:38 > 0:24:42# What have you done for Him lately?

0:24:42 > 0:24:46# He watches over everything

0:24:46 > 0:24:48# So we sing

0:24:48 > 0:24:51# Fill us with the light of day

0:24:51 > 0:24:54# Light of day. #

0:24:54 > 0:24:57THEY APPLAUD

0:24:57 > 0:24:58How do you think that went?

0:24:58 > 0:25:03Yes, it was good. Yeah. I think that the harmonies were bang on.

0:25:03 > 0:25:04Yeah, they did all right.

0:25:04 > 0:25:07Guys, I really, really enjoyed that.

0:25:07 > 0:25:10I love that song so you won me over straight away.

0:25:10 > 0:25:12Everything was really natural,

0:25:12 > 0:25:17which I think shows a huge sign of how well rehearsed you clearly were.

0:25:17 > 0:25:20Your solo part was beautiful. Absolutely brilliant.

0:25:20 > 0:25:23I can't believe a voice like that comes out of somebody so little.

0:25:23 > 0:25:26It was incredible. All of the vocals together were really slick.

0:25:26 > 0:25:28And I think it was a great performance. Well done.

0:25:28 > 0:25:32I think vocally, as in unison, the blend is fantastic.

0:25:32 > 0:25:36And like the song, Joyful, Joyful, I feel joyful, joyful

0:25:36 > 0:25:37when I watch you guys.

0:25:37 > 0:25:39Not just our first soloist,

0:25:39 > 0:25:43but actually the other two soloists as well, absolutely brilliant vocals.

0:25:43 > 0:25:45The ensemble was beautiful.

0:25:45 > 0:25:47I've got one little word of advice, which is,

0:25:47 > 0:25:50you all look really different, you're all different ages,

0:25:50 > 0:25:53which is great, I kind of would like to see some uniformity

0:25:53 > 0:25:55somewhere in what you're wearing.

0:25:55 > 0:25:58That's my only negative comment. Rest of it, perfect.

0:25:58 > 0:26:00ALL: Thanks.

0:26:01 > 0:26:04They made some lovely comments, didn't they? ALL: Yeah.

0:26:04 > 0:26:06What did you think of what they said to you?

0:26:06 > 0:26:08- It was just amazing. - Absolutely brilliant.

0:26:08 > 0:26:12You all deserve a nice relax after that, so go and rest up. Well done.

0:26:12 > 0:26:13ALL: Thank you!

0:26:13 > 0:26:14Good work.

0:26:14 > 0:26:18- Really good voices. - The harmonies were strong.

0:26:18 > 0:26:21I don't know about you guys, I also felt that there was more

0:26:21 > 0:26:25people singing than actually were singing when they sang together.

0:26:25 > 0:26:27It was just full.

0:26:27 > 0:26:29It was a perfect song choice to showcase,

0:26:29 > 0:26:32that's an ideal song to showcase how strong they can be.

0:26:32 > 0:26:34# Light of day. #

0:26:39 > 0:26:43Next up, we have New Creation. They're from Preston.

0:26:43 > 0:26:47I saw them in Manchester. They are that kind of five-piece girl band.

0:26:47 > 0:26:50I like them. There's something about them that I like.

0:26:50 > 0:26:52They're a bit of a conundrum for me

0:26:52 > 0:26:55because what I saw is a difference in personnel strength.

0:26:55 > 0:26:57Some stand out more.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00But I want to see if maybe they've gone away and tightened

0:27:00 > 0:27:03things up and maybe encouraged the other ones to come up.

0:27:03 > 0:27:06But there's tonal quality in solos that I actually liked.

0:27:06 > 0:27:08Let's see.

0:27:08 > 0:27:10Hello, New Creation. How are you doing?

0:27:10 > 0:27:13Since we last saw you in Manchester, what's been going on?

0:27:13 > 0:27:15- Rehearsing a lot?- Yeah.- Yes.

0:27:15 > 0:27:17As soon as we found out, we were so excited.

0:27:17 > 0:27:20So you're all set? Shall we do it?

0:27:20 > 0:27:24Yes? You didn't seem sure. Are you sure, New Creation? Shall we do it.

0:27:24 > 0:27:25ALL: Yes!

0:27:25 > 0:27:27Yes! Let's go and perform!

0:27:42 > 0:27:45# Do you think of her

0:27:45 > 0:27:49# When you're with me?

0:27:49 > 0:27:53# Repeat the memories you made together

0:27:53 > 0:27:56# Whose face do you see?

0:27:56 > 0:28:03# Do you wish I was a bit more like her?

0:28:03 > 0:28:05# Am I too loud?

0:28:05 > 0:28:11# I'll play the clown to cover up all these doubts

0:28:11 > 0:28:15# Perfect heart, she's flawless

0:28:15 > 0:28:18# She's the other woman

0:28:18 > 0:28:22# Shining in her splendour

0:28:22 > 0:28:24# You were lost

0:28:24 > 0:28:27# Now she's gone

0:28:27 > 0:28:31- # And I'm picking up the pieces - Picking up the pieces

0:28:31 > 0:28:33# I watch you cry

0:28:33 > 0:28:38# But you don't see that I'm the one by your side

0:28:38 > 0:28:41# Cos she's gone

0:28:41 > 0:28:46- # In her shadow, is it me you see? - Shadow, is it me you see?

0:28:46 > 0:28:49# Cos all that's left is you and I

0:28:49 > 0:28:52# And I'm picking up the pieces

0:28:52 > 0:28:55# She left behind. #

0:28:55 > 0:28:58Oh, she's smiling! She's smiling.

0:28:58 > 0:29:01THEY APPLAUD

0:29:01 > 0:29:07I closed my eyes and I listened to the most fantastic sound,

0:29:07 > 0:29:10both ensemble and your soloists.

0:29:10 > 0:29:13I think that you just sound really cool.

0:29:13 > 0:29:16You sound like you're full of angst. It sounds intense.

0:29:16 > 0:29:22I open my eyes, I see five really scared girls

0:29:22 > 0:29:24that look like they can't wait for it to finish

0:29:24 > 0:29:26and the torture will be over.

0:29:26 > 0:29:30In fact, the biggest smile was from you right at the end, when it's over.

0:29:30 > 0:29:31I never have to do that again!

0:29:31 > 0:29:37And it shouldn't be that way. Vocally, 100% brilliant.

0:29:37 > 0:29:40Visually, there needs to be a lot more.

0:29:40 > 0:29:43We've really been trying to work on the visual side of things.

0:29:43 > 0:29:45This time, since Manchester.

0:29:45 > 0:29:47So, yeah, we will keep working on it.

0:29:47 > 0:29:50What I want you to do is take confidence from the fact that

0:29:50 > 0:29:51you've got the sound right.

0:29:51 > 0:29:55And begin to introduce some of the energy and the joy that's

0:29:55 > 0:29:59in the sound into your faces, into your bodies, into what you're doing.

0:29:59 > 0:30:02Start believing in yourself, because you're

0:30:02 > 0:30:07so much better than your expressions suggest you think you are.

0:30:07 > 0:30:10I listen for recordable voices, and I hear that.

0:30:10 > 0:30:14I hear some really strong recordable voices that

0:30:14 > 0:30:16I could listen to on the radio.

0:30:16 > 0:30:19The reality is, even though there's only two soloists that I see

0:30:19 > 0:30:23who have stunning voices, you girls need to make sure you don't

0:30:23 > 0:30:27see ourselves as backing vocalists, because you're not.

0:30:27 > 0:30:30You're a band, and you need to not sing like backing vocalists

0:30:30 > 0:30:32when you're singing together.

0:30:33 > 0:30:38Oh, now there's some smiles. Now we have the smiles. How are you feeling?

0:30:38 > 0:30:41I feel like I need to give you all a big hug after that.

0:30:41 > 0:30:43Was it a bit traumatic?

0:30:43 > 0:30:46- I think it seemed more traumatic than we expected.- Right.

0:30:46 > 0:30:48And we didn't realise it was showing.

0:30:48 > 0:30:50They said there's no need to be like that,

0:30:50 > 0:30:52because we're vocally really strong,

0:30:52 > 0:30:53and that was encouraging.

0:30:53 > 0:30:58- Carrie actually said 100% with the singing, didn't she?- Yeah.

0:30:58 > 0:31:02So it's all about your performance, I think was the main message.

0:31:02 > 0:31:06- It's quite a self-conscious time of life, isn't it?- Yeah.

0:31:06 > 0:31:11And I'm seeing that. They look so like, "Please don't look at me."

0:31:11 > 0:31:13They sound brilliant, so they've just got to absorb it

0:31:13 > 0:31:17and know that they are really good and just make a bit more fearless.

0:31:17 > 0:31:21What worries me is they say they've been working on the performance

0:31:21 > 0:31:25and visuals since Manchester, but it hasn't changed to me.

0:31:25 > 0:31:28As far as the performance and visual, it's the same.

0:31:28 > 0:31:31It's that self-conscious, unsure feeling.

0:31:31 > 0:31:35The reason I brought them is because of that stunning voice, the voices.

0:31:35 > 0:31:38# You left behind. #

0:31:43 > 0:31:46So, that was Musicality and New Creation,

0:31:46 > 0:31:49two very different performances in terms of energy and confidence,

0:31:49 > 0:31:52but will it be the vocals that make the difference?

0:31:52 > 0:31:54Coming up, the final two acts take to the stage.

0:31:54 > 0:31:57Have 6 String and Diva8 perfected their routines?

0:31:57 > 0:32:00I feel like I've just watched a mini musical.

0:32:00 > 0:32:03That opening was absolute fantastic. It was spot-on.

0:32:03 > 0:32:05It was a little bit pitchy at some points

0:32:05 > 0:32:08but, apart from that, I thought it was really good.

0:32:14 > 0:32:19Next up, we have 6 String, and they're from Milton Keynes.

0:32:20 > 0:32:25I saw these guys in London. Quirky. Let's wait and see.

0:32:25 > 0:32:29What's going on in your stomachs and your heads? Are you nervous?

0:32:29 > 0:32:32- Excited.- I was nervous, but now I'm just so excited.

0:32:32 > 0:32:34I can't wait to get on the stage.

0:32:34 > 0:32:366 String!

0:32:36 > 0:32:38Hey, let's do it, 6 String.

0:32:40 > 0:32:44# If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea

0:32:46 > 0:32:51# I'll sail the world to find you

0:32:51 > 0:32:56# If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see

0:32:56 > 0:33:02# I'll be the light to guide you

0:33:02 > 0:33:07# To find out what we're made of

0:33:07 > 0:33:12# When we are called to help our friends in need

0:33:12 > 0:33:18# You can count on me like 1, 2, 3 Bom bom bom bom

0:33:18 > 0:33:21# I'll be there

0:33:21 > 0:33:24# For I know when I need it

0:33:24 > 0:33:29# I can count on you like 4, 3, 2 Bom bom bom bom

0:33:29 > 0:33:31# You'll be there

0:33:31 > 0:33:34# Cos that's what friends are supposed to do

0:33:34 > 0:33:45# You'll always have my shoulder when you cry

0:33:45 > 0:33:53# I'll never let go Never say goodbye

0:33:54 > 0:34:00- # You can count on me like 1, 2, 3 - Bom bom bom bom

0:34:00 > 0:34:02# I'll be there

0:34:02 > 0:34:08# You can count on me cos I can count on you. #

0:34:08 > 0:34:11APPLAUSE

0:34:12 > 0:34:15I feel like I've just watched a mini musical. It's fab.

0:34:15 > 0:34:20The whole story's going on with the way that you're acting through it.

0:34:20 > 0:34:23Great choice of song. Really good choice of song.

0:34:23 > 0:34:26I think, John, you were right in saying quirky,

0:34:26 > 0:34:29because your interpretation of the song was really quirky.

0:34:31 > 0:34:34I love the little country and western move in the middle.

0:34:34 > 0:34:38It was just so individual. You were very entertaining.

0:34:38 > 0:34:40If there's one note I would give you to watch out for,

0:34:40 > 0:34:41it's the breathing.

0:34:41 > 0:34:47Your breathing was not always where it should be, which affects

0:34:47 > 0:34:50- the pitching, but very entertaining. - I really enjoyed it.

0:34:50 > 0:34:54I thought it was really sweet. I liked the little, bom bom bom bom.

0:34:54 > 0:34:57And the dance moves as well. You'll have to teach me that.

0:34:57 > 0:35:00But I have to agree, it was a little bit pitchy at some points,

0:35:00 > 0:35:03but apart from that, I thought it was really good.

0:35:03 > 0:35:06- How was it?- It was good.

0:35:06 > 0:35:11- It was amazing.- To have those judges give as all those positive comments!

0:35:11 > 0:35:14Well done, 6 String. Go and chill out. Bye.

0:35:16 > 0:35:22I'm not sure these guys are ready yet for the rigours of having

0:35:22 > 0:35:25to come up with three, four different song arrangements,

0:35:25 > 0:35:31- different performances, and nail it every time.- I like their image.

0:35:31 > 0:35:34It's different. They just look quite different.

0:35:34 > 0:35:40There is a family vibe about them. The harmonies were in, by and large.

0:35:40 > 0:35:42Pretty good. Sweet tone.

0:35:42 > 0:35:48# You can count on me cos I can count on you. #

0:35:54 > 0:35:59Right, next up, we have Diva8 from northeast London.

0:35:59 > 0:36:05- I've got one word to describe their sound. Africa.- Ooh!

0:36:05 > 0:36:08So, what do you think that's going to be like, going in there?

0:36:08 > 0:36:13It's really exciting. It's a really great opportunity for all of us.

0:36:13 > 0:36:18- Which of the judges are you most looking forward to seeing? ALL:- Joe.

0:36:18 > 0:36:20Aw!

0:36:23 > 0:36:27# Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck

0:36:27 > 0:36:30# Some nights I call it a draw

0:36:31 > 0:36:36# Some nights I wish that my lips could build a castle

0:36:36 > 0:36:39# Some nights I wish they'd just fall off

0:36:39 > 0:36:44# But I still wake up I still see your ghost

0:36:44 > 0:36:49# Oh, Lord, I'm still not sure what I stand for oh

0:36:49 > 0:36:53# What do I stand for? # What do I stand for?

0:36:53 > 0:36:59# Most nights I don't know any more

0:36:59 > 0:37:01# Oh-oh oh-oh

0:37:01 > 0:37:03# Oh-oh oh-oh

0:37:03 > 0:37:06# Oh oh

0:37:06 > 0:37:08# Whoa oh

0:37:08 > 0:37:10# Oh-oh oh-oh

0:37:10 > 0:37:12# Oh-oh oh-oh

0:37:12 > 0:37:13# Oh oh

0:37:15 > 0:37:19# This is it, boys, this is war What are we waiting for?

0:37:19 > 0:37:23# Why don't we break the rules already?

0:37:23 > 0:37:26# I was never one to believe the hype

0:37:26 > 0:37:28# Save that for the black and white

0:37:28 > 0:37:30# I try twice as hard And I'm half as liked

0:37:30 > 0:37:32# But here they come again to jack my style

0:37:33 > 0:37:35# And that's all right

0:37:35 > 0:37:38# Well, some nights I wish that this all would end

0:37:38 > 0:37:43# Cos I could use some friends for a change

0:37:43 > 0:37:46# And some nights I'm scared you'll forget me again

0:37:46 > 0:37:50# Some nights I always win

0:37:50 > 0:37:51# Sunrise! #

0:37:51 > 0:37:55APPLAUSE

0:37:55 > 0:37:57I hope Joe makes nice comments

0:37:57 > 0:37:59otherwise they're going to be crushed, aren't they?

0:37:59 > 0:38:01- They love him.- Yes.

0:38:01 > 0:38:04- Their little faces are looking a bit scared now.- I know.

0:38:04 > 0:38:07Your sound together is brilliant. It sounds really beautiful.

0:38:07 > 0:38:13Full of energy but just lift the facial expressions,

0:38:13 > 0:38:15the movement. Have a bit more conviction

0:38:15 > 0:38:17to match the sound of your voices,

0:38:17 > 0:38:20because it's beautiful. You've got nothing to be shy about.

0:38:20 > 0:38:24I love your sound. You have a beautiful African sound,

0:38:24 > 0:38:26and the harmonies, the choice of harmonies,

0:38:26 > 0:38:30the way you're singing the harmonies, they're punchy, they're beautiful.

0:38:30 > 0:38:35A great sound. What I'd love to see is that matched

0:38:35 > 0:38:38in the way you're expressing yourself facially and in the choreography.

0:38:38 > 0:38:42It feels like punchy vocals and just slightly pathetic moving.

0:38:42 > 0:38:44So that needs to come up some.

0:38:44 > 0:38:48I loved the mixture and the diversity you have for different heights,

0:38:48 > 0:38:50the different sizes, the different types,

0:38:50 > 0:38:53the different looks, and it all works together.

0:38:53 > 0:38:55You're a proper glee club

0:38:55 > 0:38:59and you work as a unit vocally. That opening was absolutely fantastic -

0:38:59 > 0:39:01it was spot-on!

0:39:01 > 0:39:03I think your sound is unique.

0:39:03 > 0:39:07Your vocal blend as a group is very tight.

0:39:07 > 0:39:10The ensemble is uplifting.

0:39:10 > 0:39:14So it's almost like it just, even if you're not trying, the sound

0:39:14 > 0:39:16atually sounds like it's coming from the heart.

0:39:16 > 0:39:18It's quite an amazing thing.

0:39:19 > 0:39:22Joe McElderry has spoken to you.

0:39:22 > 0:39:23Joe has spoken to you!

0:39:23 > 0:39:26What did he say? Are you happy with what he said?

0:39:26 > 0:39:27- ALL:- Yeah.

0:39:27 > 0:39:30Shake off the shyness, girls!

0:39:30 > 0:39:33So, do you think if you got to come back, do you think you've got

0:39:33 > 0:39:34- that energy you could give? ALL:- Yeah.

0:39:34 > 0:39:38- Do you think there is more from Diva8 that we could see? ALL:- Yes.

0:39:38 > 0:39:41Well, let's hope you get to come back, eh? Fingers crossed. Well done.

0:39:41 > 0:39:46I loved their ensemble sound. It's a very African sound, actually, but...

0:39:46 > 0:39:49for me they just weren't punchy, physically, to watch.

0:39:49 > 0:39:51I think it's confidence, as well.

0:39:51 > 0:39:54They seem a bit, "I don't know if I can do that."

0:39:54 > 0:39:56If they can lift it a bit,

0:39:56 > 0:39:59- then they could be really good. - The ensemble's powerful together

0:39:59 > 0:40:03and then the solos, individually,

0:40:03 > 0:40:05kind of could be a bit more.

0:40:05 > 0:40:07# Sunrise! #

0:40:13 > 0:40:16Here's a quick reminder of the glee clubs that have performed today.

0:40:19 > 0:40:22# We are young... #

0:40:51 > 0:40:54# You are my friend... #

0:41:00 > 0:41:04# God of glory, Lord of love... #

0:41:07 > 0:41:09# Picking up the pieces

0:41:09 > 0:41:11- # Picking up the pieces - And you'll cry

0:41:16 > 0:41:21# Then care for me Like one, two, three

0:41:21 > 0:41:24# I'll be there

0:42:07 > 0:42:11They've got work but if they do the work, they'd be fantastic.
