0:05:37 > 0:05:40# And carry on

0:05:40 > 0:05:45# Cos I know I don't belong

0:05:45 > 0:05:51# Here in heaven. #

0:05:54 > 0:05:58# My momma told me not to waste my life

0:05:58 > 0:06:03# She said, "Spread your wings my little butterfly

0:06:03 > 0:06:07# "Don't let what they say keep you up at night

0:06:07 > 0:06:11# "And if they give you shhh then they can walk on by

0:06:11 > 0:06:14# Your words don't mean a thing

0:06:14 > 0:06:17# I'm not listening

0:06:17 > 0:06:18# Keep talking

0:06:18 > 0:06:24# All I know is Momma told me not to waste my life

0:06:43 > 0:06:45- What did you think of that? - Brilliant. Fantastic.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47- Yeah, they did good, didn't they?- Yeah.

0:06:47 > 0:06:48It's a very rare moment

0:06:48 > 0:06:52when you're watching people that are not used to doing this stuff,

0:06:52 > 0:06:55where, as a judge, you can absolutely relax and enjoy it.

0:06:55 > 0:06:59But I found myself completely relaxed and secure in your performance.

0:06:59 > 0:07:04So confident, straight out the traps, all of you giving 100%.

0:07:04 > 0:07:08Not one weak link. And one of your greatest strengths is your pitching.

0:07:08 > 0:07:11It's so precise and so on it.

0:07:11 > 0:07:13- Fantastic.- Thank you.

0:07:13 > 0:07:15- Look at her!- "That's me, that's me." - You're like energy bombs,

0:07:15 > 0:07:17exploding all over the stage.

0:07:17 > 0:07:20I could look at any of you and see the same amount of energy

0:07:20 > 0:07:23and intensity and attitude.

0:07:23 > 0:07:24That was fantastic.

0:07:24 > 0:07:25ALL: Thank you.

0:07:25 > 0:07:28I loved that you showed us how diverse

0:07:28 > 0:07:30and beautiful all your voices were at the beginning

0:07:30 > 0:07:34and then showed us all the energy and all of the fun that you bring

0:07:34 > 0:07:37to the stage, and it was absolutely brilliant.

0:07:37 > 0:07:39Really, really good.

0:07:40 > 0:07:41NAOMI SQUEALS

0:07:41 > 0:07:44Oh, I'm so proud of you all!

0:07:46 > 0:07:49So how do you feel, having performed?

0:07:49 > 0:07:52- Just... Just...- I want to go and do it all again!- Me too!

0:07:52 > 0:07:54- Me too!- Me too!

0:07:54 > 0:07:56I thought they could never carry that first song.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58To carry the first song

0:07:58 > 0:08:01and two completely different emotions...

0:08:01 > 0:08:03It showcased all of their talent.

0:08:03 > 0:08:05So instead of just, "We can sing,"

0:08:05 > 0:08:07or "We've got loads of energy and we can move around,"

0:08:07 > 0:08:10they showed us both, which I think was really, really good.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12# These wings are made to fly! #

0:08:18 > 0:08:21You're focused. Come here before you get into your positions.

0:08:21 > 0:08:22How are you?

0:08:22 > 0:08:25'Next we've got Activ8, who impressed me in Glasgow.'

0:08:25 > 0:08:28They were very High School Musical. Lots of potential.

0:08:28 > 0:08:29That's what I like to hear.

0:08:29 > 0:08:33I like to hear people out of breath after they've performed.

0:08:33 > 0:08:35You're looking very angelic today.

0:08:35 > 0:08:37And you're all really quiet.

0:08:37 > 0:08:39Are you all feeling a bit nervous?

0:08:39 > 0:08:40ALL: Yes.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43What is going on in your heads at the moment?

0:08:43 > 0:08:47I have butterflies, but I don't know if it's nerves or excitement.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49- A bit of both, maybe.- Yeah. - All right.

0:08:50 > 0:08:51Off you go, Activ8.

0:08:51 > 0:08:53Go and impress them.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59# You've got me losing my mind

0:08:59 > 0:09:02# My heart beats out of time

0:09:02 > 0:09:03# Ba ba ba-da

0:09:03 > 0:09:07# I'm seeing Hollywood stars

0:09:07 > 0:09:09# You strum me like a guitar

0:09:09 > 0:09:11# Ba, ba ba-da

0:09:11 > 0:09:16# I can taste the tension like a cloud of smoke in the air

0:09:16 > 0:09:19# Now I'm breathing like I'm running cos you're taking me there

0:09:19 > 0:09:22# Don't you know... Ba ba ba-da

0:09:22 > 0:09:25# You spin me out of control

0:09:25 > 0:09:28# Ba ba da ba ba-da-da

0:09:28 > 0:09:30# And we can do it all night

0:09:30 > 0:09:32# Damn, this love is skin tight

0:09:32 > 0:09:35# Baby, come on

0:09:35 > 0:09:38# Pull me like a bass drum

0:09:38 > 0:09:43# Sparkin' up the rhythm Baby, come on!

0:09:43 > 0:09:44# Hey, yeah!

0:09:44 > 0:09:47# Rock my world into the sunlight

0:09:47 > 0:09:50# Make this dream the best I've ever known

0:09:50 > 0:09:55# Let's go dancing in the moonlight

0:09:55 > 0:09:58# Take me down like I'm a domino

0:09:58 > 0:10:02# Every second is a highlight

0:10:02 > 0:10:06# When we touch don't ever let me go

0:10:06 > 0:10:09# Let's go dancing in the moonlight

0:10:09 > 0:10:13# Take me down like I'm a domino

0:10:13 > 0:10:17# Oh, baby baby got me feeling so right

0:10:17 > 0:10:20# Oh, baby baby dancing in the moonlight

0:10:20 > 0:10:25# Oh, baby baby got me feeling so right

0:10:25 > 0:10:29# Oh, baby baby dancing in the moonlight #

0:10:33 > 0:10:34Activ8, you were fantastic.

0:10:34 > 0:10:39You all look terrified and I'm not quite sure why you look so terrified.

0:10:39 > 0:10:44I could listen to your blend and your arrangements all day long.

0:10:44 > 0:10:48Too many soloists. We need two people who sing really well.

0:10:48 > 0:10:50Choose your strongest singers.

0:10:50 > 0:10:54Your weapon is the ensemble arrangement blended singing.

0:10:54 > 0:10:56That's your strength, not the solo stuff.

0:10:59 > 0:11:01I liked the fact that you all sang,

0:11:01 > 0:11:04because it showed that there isn't a weak voice in there.

0:11:04 > 0:11:06Quite often there's a passenger.

0:11:06 > 0:11:09- Um... Excuse me?- I disagree with that.

0:11:09 > 0:11:11- Oooh!- I think there were strong singers in there

0:11:11 > 0:11:15- and they need to make the most of those strong singers. - Judges' rivalry! Love it!

0:11:15 > 0:11:17..value your opinion,

0:11:17 > 0:11:18but I'm ignoring it.

0:11:18 > 0:11:21I liked the fact that there weren't any weak voices in there.

0:11:21 > 0:11:23I liked the roles that you took.

0:11:23 > 0:11:25Each of you took the right part for your voice.

0:11:25 > 0:11:28Where I do think there was a weakness, I have to say,

0:11:28 > 0:11:31was in the amount of energy that you gave the performance.

0:11:31 > 0:11:33I want to see so much more pow! Ka-pow!

0:11:33 > 0:11:35Because what you're doing is,

0:11:35 > 0:11:38vocally you're giving it loads, visually

0:11:38 > 0:11:42and physically it looked almost at times as though you were marking it.

0:11:42 > 0:11:48You were singing it, you performed it Cinderella sort of cleaning

0:11:48 > 0:11:51the sisters' house, the ugly sisters' house.

0:11:51 > 0:11:54But you guys have the potential to actually perform

0:11:54 > 0:11:56that like you're Cinderella at the ball.

0:11:56 > 0:11:57You need to realise how good you are.

0:11:59 > 0:12:02What are you going to do to try and have that confidence?

0:12:02 > 0:12:04How are you going to put that into practice?

0:12:04 > 0:12:08I think we should just all really kind of bring up our energy levels as well,

0:12:08 > 0:12:11because I think we were all that nervous it took over a little bit.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13What made you so nervous?

0:12:13 > 0:12:17I think just because it was such a big stage

0:12:17 > 0:12:19and everyone was just watching you.

0:12:19 > 0:12:20I think we just panicked a bit.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23- Didn't you think they all sounded good?- Yeah, they did.- Yeah.- Yeah.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25And as an ensemble, their arrangements -

0:12:25 > 0:12:28# Ba ba... # All that stuff and the sound of it

0:12:28 > 0:12:30the sound is great.

0:12:30 > 0:12:34# Oh, baby baby dancing in the moonlight. #

0:12:39 > 0:12:42Both The Peppermints and Activ8 gave solid performances, though one

0:12:42 > 0:12:46of the groups seemed to handle their nerves better than the other.

0:12:46 > 0:12:50Coming up, another two glee clubs go all out to wow the judges.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53That really, really impressed me.

0:12:53 > 0:12:56The first half was quite good, the second half was fantastic.

0:12:56 > 0:12:59You guys looked like you were having the time of your life up there.

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Good afternoon, everybody!

0:13:06 > 0:13:08ALL: Hi!

0:13:08 > 0:13:10Welcome to Glee Club auditions.

0:13:10 > 0:13:14Next up, we've got Allsorts, an all-girl group from Milton Keynes.

0:13:14 > 0:13:18Well done. Give yourselves a round of applause.

0:13:18 > 0:13:22I remember these girls quite well. They're an interesting mix of ages.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24ALL GIGGLE

0:13:24 > 0:13:25ALL: Allsorts.

0:13:25 > 0:13:29Is this because you are all sorts of different people in all sorts of different clothes?

0:13:29 > 0:13:30ALL: Yeah!

0:13:30 > 0:13:31You look lovely today!

0:13:31 > 0:13:36Well, if you're ready to do it, I think the judges are ready to see you perform.

0:13:36 > 0:13:38Right, let's go and do it then. This way.

0:13:41 > 0:13:44# My heart's a stereo

0:13:44 > 0:13:47# It beats for you so listen close

0:13:47 > 0:13:48# Hear my thoughts in every note

0:13:48 > 0:13:50# Oh oh...

0:13:51 > 0:13:54# Make me your radio

0:13:54 > 0:13:57# Turn me up when you feel low

0:13:57 > 0:14:00# This melody was meant for you

0:14:00 > 0:14:02# So sing along to my stereo

0:14:02 > 0:14:05# In the blink of an eye

0:14:05 > 0:14:09# I was falling from the sky

0:14:09 > 0:14:13# You took my breath away

0:14:13 > 0:14:16# And my heart started speeding

0:14:16 > 0:14:20# And my lungs started breathing

0:14:20 > 0:14:23# And a voice in my head started screaming

0:14:23 > 0:14:27# I'm aliii-ii-iiive!

0:14:27 > 0:14:31# You're like a laserlight burning down

0:14:31 > 0:14:34# Burning down on me

0:14:34 > 0:14:39# You're like a laserlight burning down

0:14:39 > 0:14:41# Burning down on me

0:14:41 > 0:14:45# You make me feel good you make me feel safe

0:14:45 > 0:14:49# You make me feel like I could live another day

0:14:49 > 0:14:53# You make me feel good you make me feel safe

0:14:53 > 0:14:56# You know I wouldn't have it any other way

0:14:56 > 0:14:59# Have it any other way

0:14:59 > 0:15:05# All the night I was falling from the sky

0:15:05 > 0:15:08# Ooooh... #

0:15:14 > 0:15:16Are they quite good at taking on feedback that you give them?

0:15:16 > 0:15:20- They're fine. I'm really harsh. - Are you?- In a nice way, but they...

0:15:20 > 0:15:22They can't be harsher than you.

0:15:22 > 0:15:26- In a nice way. They get it. It's just, you know.- Yeah.

0:15:26 > 0:15:30Once you got into Laserlight, it was rock solid.

0:15:30 > 0:15:34And the performance was there, the energy was there,

0:15:34 > 0:15:39the joy was there, the sound was great, the solos were wonderful.

0:15:39 > 0:15:43- Er, yes, yes!- Thank you so much.

0:15:43 > 0:15:45The dynamics of your personnel are great.

0:15:45 > 0:15:50Like big sisters, little sisters. It's like a unit. It actually works.

0:15:50 > 0:15:52And the song choice, I have to say, is very clever.

0:15:52 > 0:15:56If your teacher thought that up, good on them.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58High five!

0:15:58 > 0:16:01Yeah, I think you'll be a tough one to decide on, for sure.

0:16:01 > 0:16:03I loved it. I absolutely loved it.

0:16:03 > 0:16:06You were giving all this sassiness, I was, like, singing along with you.

0:16:06 > 0:16:10But you sounded brilliant. You look amazing. I loved it. It was amazing.

0:16:10 > 0:16:13Thank you so much.

0:16:13 > 0:16:15Were you happy with how the performance went?

0:16:15 > 0:16:16ALL: Yes!

0:16:16 > 0:16:18Nothing you would have liked to have done differently,

0:16:18 > 0:16:20or anything you could have improved or...?

0:16:20 > 0:16:21ALL: No.

0:16:21 > 0:16:23- That was the best you've ever done it?- Yes.

0:16:23 > 0:16:26I think one of the challenges for them as a group is actually

0:16:26 > 0:16:30managing to marry together three really grown-up girls.

0:16:30 > 0:16:34It looks like two bands, almost. It's like the kiddie band and the grown-up band.

0:16:34 > 0:16:37And that's why it's a great name - Allsorts - cos they are.

0:16:37 > 0:16:41But they just made it for me, with those songs.

0:16:41 > 0:16:44Whether they'll be able to transfer that every single time,

0:16:44 > 0:16:49to make sure all eight of them still feel like they're integrated

0:16:49 > 0:16:52and not just two separate entities...

0:16:52 > 0:16:54# Ooooh... #

0:17:01 > 0:17:05Up next, we've got Bittersweet, who really impressed me

0:17:05 > 0:17:06when I first saw them in Glasgow.

0:17:06 > 0:17:09They were really polished and committed to their performance.

0:17:12 > 0:17:17- Hello.- ALL:- Hi! - How are we doing today?- We're good.

0:17:17 > 0:17:21- Show me these. Now I hear... Oh, is that you?- Yeah!

0:17:21 > 0:17:24- Ohh! You're all got your faces on them!- Yeah!

0:17:24 > 0:17:30- Material girls...- We're in the zone. - In the zone. Good luck.- Thank you.

0:17:45 > 0:17:49# Some boys kiss me Some boys hug me

0:17:49 > 0:17:52# I think they're OK

0:17:52 > 0:17:59# If they don't give me proper credit I just walk away

0:17:59 > 0:18:03# They can beg and they can plead

0:18:03 > 0:18:07- # But they can't see the light - That's right

0:18:07 > 0:18:10# Cos the boy with the cold hard cash is

0:18:10 > 0:18:13# Always Mr Right

0:18:13 > 0:18:17# Cos we are living in a material world

0:18:17 > 0:18:20# And I am a material girl

0:18:20 > 0:18:24# You know that we are living in a material world

0:18:24 > 0:18:27# And I am a material girl

0:18:27 > 0:18:29# Living in a material world

0:18:29 > 0:18:33- # Material! - Living in a material world

0:18:33 > 0:18:36- # Material! - Living in a material world

0:18:36 > 0:18:41- # Material! - Living in a material world! #

0:18:42 > 0:18:44APPLAUSE

0:18:44 > 0:18:46- Good job. - They had great fun.

0:18:46 > 0:18:48SHE LAUGHS

0:18:48 > 0:18:53Bittersweet. Wow! Fantastic! I really loved that performance.

0:18:53 > 0:18:59I loved the choreography, I thought you were really original. I loved the vocals. The... # Da-da... #

0:18:59 > 0:19:01I'll be singing that for days now.

0:19:01 > 0:19:06- Brilliant! You are absolutely a glee club.- ALL:- Thank you.

0:19:06 > 0:19:11What makes you guys a glee club and what makes you excellent at it is you bring the third element to it.

0:19:11 > 0:19:17The singing was really very, very good. The choreography was fantastic, it was sharp.

0:19:17 > 0:19:20But you acted as well. You performed.

0:19:20 > 0:19:25It was like watching a little, mini performance from a musical. It was really, very very good.

0:19:25 > 0:19:30The only complaint I have is that you didn't bring a magazine with my face on the cover.

0:19:30 > 0:19:34- We'll make you one.- We will. - I'll hold you to that.

0:19:34 > 0:19:36- We'll mail it in the post. - ALL LAUGH

0:19:36 > 0:19:39I thought it was brilliant.

0:19:39 > 0:19:43The one thing about when you're performing is when you're having fun

0:19:43 > 0:19:47the people that are watching you instantly feel that relaxation.

0:19:47 > 0:19:50You guys looked like you were having the time of your life up there.

0:19:50 > 0:19:53It reminded us of something from Legally Blond,

0:19:53 > 0:19:56that kind of femininity and Girl Power. Brilliant!

0:19:56 > 0:19:59We really enjoyed it. We'll all be doing this now.

0:19:59 > 0:20:05- We really liked your performance. - THEY LAUGH

0:20:05 > 0:20:06THEY SQUEAL

0:20:10 > 0:20:14- You girls were great! How much fun was that?- ALL:- Wonderful!

0:20:14 > 0:20:18- You really did enjoy yourselves, didn't you?- Yeah!

0:20:18 > 0:20:23- So if you were to go through to the next round, will you make David a magazine?- Yes!

0:20:23 > 0:20:27- And Carrie and John and Joe and everybody else.- All of them. You can have one.

0:20:27 > 0:20:29- Excellent. And me? - Yeah!

0:20:29 > 0:20:32That to me is what a glee club is all about, actually.

0:20:32 > 0:20:35- They've given it theatrical panache. - They've thought about a show.

0:20:35 > 0:20:40- Professional, slick, polished, engaging, animated.- Yes.

0:20:40 > 0:20:45- It was good.- The minute the music started they were in it.- Really engaged. No weak ones

0:20:45 > 0:20:50That's the thing about the acting, they didn't come out of character at all throughout the whole thing.

0:20:50 > 0:20:55- # Material! - Living in a material world! #

0:21:00 > 0:21:03Four of today's acts have now performed for the judges.

0:21:03 > 0:21:10And with four groups still to see, let's take a moment to remind ourselves why we're all here.

0:21:10 > 0:21:15Comic Relief works hard to support people who are leading incredibly difficult lives

0:21:15 > 0:21:19by funding projects all over Africa as well as right here in the UK.

0:21:20 > 0:21:24In fact, the charity has funded over 15,000 projects in the UK,

0:21:24 > 0:21:29working 365 days a year to change things for the better.

0:21:32 > 0:21:38The donations that you make will help vulnerable people from all walks of life at home and abroad.

0:21:38 > 0:21:40You can help make a huge difference.

0:21:40 > 0:21:43To find out how you could do something "funny for money",

0:21:43 > 0:21:50get a grownup and visit the CBBC website at...

0:21:50 > 0:21:53and follow the link to Comic Relief.

0:21:53 > 0:21:55Thank you.

0:22:00 > 0:22:02What's the funny joke?

0:22:02 > 0:22:03Next up, we've got Domino.

0:22:03 > 0:22:05I saw this group in London

0:22:05 > 0:22:08and their energy left me feeling they had tons of potential.

0:22:13 > 0:22:14How are you feeling today?

0:22:14 > 0:22:16All TALK AT ONCE

0:22:16 > 0:22:18- Exhilarated!- Exhilarated? LAUGHTER

0:22:18 > 0:22:23- Have you ever done anything this big before?- ALL: No!

0:22:23 > 0:22:26- Have you ever been in a television studio?- ALL: No.

0:22:27 > 0:22:31So if it goes wrong today, who are you going to blame it on?

0:22:31 > 0:22:32You!

0:22:42 > 0:22:44# My baby's always dancin'

0:22:44 > 0:22:46# It wouldn't be a bad thing

0:22:46 > 0:22:49# But I don't get no lovin'

0:22:49 > 0:22:51# And that's no lie

0:22:51 > 0:22:55# We spent the night in Frisco at every kinda disco

0:22:55 > 0:22:58# From that night I kissed my love goodbye

0:22:58 > 0:23:00# Don't blame it on the sunshine

0:23:00 > 0:23:03# Don't blame it on the moonlight

0:23:03 > 0:23:05# Don't blame it on the good times

0:23:05 > 0:23:07# Blame it on the boogie

0:23:07 > 0:23:09# Don't blame it on the sunshine

0:23:09 > 0:23:11# Don't blame it on the moonlight

0:23:11 > 0:23:13# Don't blame it on the good times

0:23:13 > 0:23:15# Blame it on the boogie

0:23:16 > 0:23:18# I just can't, I just can't

0:23:18 > 0:23:20# I just can't control my feet

0:23:20 > 0:23:23# I just can't, I just can't

0:23:23 > 0:23:25# I just can't control my feet

0:23:25 > 0:23:27# I just can't, I just can't

0:23:27 > 0:23:29# I just can't control my feet

0:23:29 > 0:23:31# I just can't, I just can't

0:23:31 > 0:23:33# I just can't control my feet

0:23:33 > 0:23:34- # Sunshine - Whoo!

0:23:35 > 0:23:37- # Moonlight - Yeah!

0:23:37 > 0:23:40- # Good times - Mmmmm

0:23:40 > 0:23:42- # Boogie! - You just got that

0:23:42 > 0:23:44- # Sunshine! - Yeah!

0:23:44 > 0:23:46- # Moonlight - Mmmmm

0:23:46 > 0:23:48- # Good times - Whoa-oh

0:23:48 > 0:23:49# Boogie!

0:23:49 > 0:23:52- # Don't blame it on sunshine - You just gotta

0:23:52 > 0:23:55- # Moonlight - Do just what you wanna

0:23:55 > 0:23:59- # Good times - Yeah!- Oh, blame it on

0:23:59 > 0:24:01- # Sunshine! - Ain't nobody's fault

0:24:01 > 0:24:04- # You've got to boogie - Good times

0:24:04 > 0:24:06# All the night long

0:24:06 > 0:24:08# Don't blame it on sunshine! #

0:24:10 > 0:24:12CLAPPING

0:24:12 > 0:24:15Yeah!

0:24:15 > 0:24:16- Happy with that?- Yes!

0:24:17 > 0:24:20Performing when you're dancing at that level and singing,

0:24:20 > 0:24:23it's going to be really difficult to get the two things together.

0:24:23 > 0:24:25But you did it really, really well.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28Vast amounts of energy. I loved the energy.

0:24:28 > 0:24:31My one little comment would be - for your soloists

0:24:31 > 0:24:32I think you need to dance less,

0:24:32 > 0:24:35so we get that tuning pitch perfect.

0:24:35 > 0:24:37But apart from that, fantastic performance.

0:24:37 > 0:24:39Thank you.

0:24:39 > 0:24:42High energy and a lot of movement. A lot of choreography.

0:24:42 > 0:24:46Maybe a little bit too much, and it did affect your singing.

0:24:46 > 0:24:49But, overall, there's such an infectious energy about you

0:24:49 > 0:24:51that I really like.

0:24:52 > 0:24:53I thought it was fantastic.

0:24:53 > 0:24:57Erm, it just made me smile from beginning to end.

0:24:57 > 0:24:58And, your two eye contact...

0:24:58 > 0:25:01When there's just four people in a room,

0:25:01 > 0:25:04it's quite difficult to perform and hold the eye contact.

0:25:04 > 0:25:08And you - well everybody did - but you two, I couldn't take my eyes off you two.

0:25:08 > 0:25:10So well done. It was a brilliant performance.

0:25:11 > 0:25:14- Big sigh of relief? - THEY SIGH

0:25:14 > 0:25:17You're all sweating, you obviously put in a lot of energy.

0:25:17 > 0:25:19How did it go?

0:25:19 > 0:25:21- It went really well.- We put all of our effort into it, so...

0:25:21 > 0:25:24Are you at all worried because they did say that

0:25:24 > 0:25:27some of the soloists were perhaps dancing a little bit too much.

0:25:27 > 0:25:29You took a solo - what did you think of that?

0:25:29 > 0:25:34It's a good thing, really, for me, because we all know what we need to do,

0:25:34 > 0:25:37and what we need to work on to make it even better the next time.

0:25:37 > 0:25:40That's a great way of thinking about it. Well done.

0:25:40 > 0:25:42# Don't blame it on sunshine! #

0:25:47 > 0:25:51Right, next up we have Figure of 8 from Chelmsford.

0:25:51 > 0:25:55- And some of them you may recognise from both series one and two.- OK.

0:25:56 > 0:25:59# ..I had everything... #

0:26:03 > 0:26:07Great! Thank you very much! And relax. How do you think you did?

0:26:07 > 0:26:08Yeah. Good.

0:26:08 > 0:26:10Good! That's what I like to hear.

0:26:15 > 0:26:18DESCENDING VOCALISATION

0:26:18 > 0:26:22- How are you feeling today? - THEY ANSWER IN AFFIRMATIVE

0:26:22 > 0:26:25- Looking forward to this?- Yeah! Definitely, yeah.

0:26:25 > 0:26:27And with your song, there is a lot of emotion in it.

0:26:27 > 0:26:31How do you sort of get motivated, prepared, to perform this song?

0:26:31 > 0:26:33We just try to enjoy ourselves really.

0:26:33 > 0:26:36And just make sure that what we're feeling, is portrayed on stage.

0:26:36 > 0:26:39Any group thing you need to do before you go in?

0:26:39 > 0:26:42Have a little high-five, or whatever?

0:26:42 > 0:26:44ALL: Figure of 8! Figure of 8!

0:26:44 > 0:26:46Figure of 8 - nice!

0:26:53 > 0:26:55# I know this pain

0:26:57 > 0:27:01# Why do you lock yourself up in these chains?

0:27:03 > 0:27:07# No-one can change your life except for you

0:27:07 > 0:27:12# Don't ever let anyone step all over you

0:27:12 > 0:27:16# Just open your heart and your mind

0:27:16 > 0:27:18# Mmmmm

0:27:18 > 0:27:23# Is it really fair to feel this way inside

0:27:23 > 0:27:25# Whoa!

0:27:25 > 0:27:30# Some day somebody's gonna make you wanna turn around and say goodbye

0:27:30 > 0:27:31# Till then, baby

0:27:31 > 0:27:34# Are you gonna let them hold you down and make you cry?

0:27:34 > 0:27:37# Don't you know? Don't you know things will change

0:27:37 > 0:27:39# Things'll go your way

0:27:39 > 0:27:44# If you hold on for one more day

0:27:44 > 0:27:48# If you hold on for one more day

0:27:48 > 0:27:51# Things will go your way

0:27:52 > 0:27:54# Hold on for one more day

0:27:54 > 0:27:59# Some day somebody's gonna make you wanna turn around and say goodbye

0:27:59 > 0:28:00# Say goodbye

0:28:00 > 0:28:04# Till then, baby, are you gonna let them hold you down and make you cry?

0:28:04 > 0:28:05# Don't you know, don't you know

0:28:05 > 0:28:07# Things will change

0:28:07 > 0:28:08# Things will go your way

0:28:08 > 0:28:13# If you hold on for one more day

0:28:13 > 0:28:17# If you hold on. #

0:28:19 > 0:28:21CLAPPING

0:28:21 > 0:28:22- Yeah!- Yay!

0:28:26 > 0:28:29You have a really good ensemble sound.

0:28:29 > 0:28:32You are what a glee club are.

0:28:32 > 0:28:36My question to you is, why did you not choose a more complex song?

0:28:36 > 0:28:41With such strong singers, such ability to do good harmonies,

0:28:41 > 0:28:43I'd like to have heard more layering, more complexity,

0:28:43 > 0:28:45because I think you're capable of more.

0:28:45 > 0:28:49It makes me want to ask - are you confident enough?

0:28:49 > 0:28:53I think we're really confident in all of our abilities.

0:28:53 > 0:28:55We were all thinking that if we did get through,

0:28:55 > 0:28:58that we would show you the more complex harmonies -

0:28:58 > 0:28:59because we are capable of doing that,

0:28:59 > 0:29:02but we thought we'd do the first round simple

0:29:02 > 0:29:04and just show you, you know, what we can do.

0:29:04 > 0:29:06Stick to the safe stuff.

0:29:06 > 0:29:09- That's a nice enough comment. - Constructive.

0:29:09 > 0:29:14You sang a really rhythmic song, that requires real tightness,

0:29:14 > 0:29:17and if one of you is out it really shows.

0:29:17 > 0:29:20And none of you were out. You were really, really locked.

0:29:20 > 0:29:21ALL: Thank you!

0:29:21 > 0:29:24Your timing and your rhythm was fantastic.

0:29:24 > 0:29:26Guys, I liked you from the beginning.

0:29:26 > 0:29:30I liked you because you sing and perform as a unit.

0:29:30 > 0:29:32I think you're strong vocally.

0:29:32 > 0:29:35I think your faces are very animated and engaging,

0:29:35 > 0:29:38and that's really what a performance is about as well.

0:29:38 > 0:29:41Because you can sing well and have absolutely no expression on your face

0:29:41 > 0:29:43and you lose your audience.

0:29:43 > 0:29:48I think whatever we throw at you, you guys will deliver well.

0:29:48 > 0:29:50- They said nice comments, didn't they? - LAUGHTER

0:29:50 > 0:29:53- Are you happy with that?- So happy!

0:29:53 > 0:29:56I think it was really special because, erm,

0:29:56 > 0:30:00last year the main things we needed to work on was gelling as a group.

0:30:00 > 0:30:02And they mentioned something about our rhythm being out,

0:30:02 > 0:30:05which were the two things they just mentioned as being really good.

0:30:05 > 0:30:07You've solved those problems!

0:30:07 > 0:30:09Yeah, we've definitely improved.

0:30:09 > 0:30:11- Now you've just got to make it more complicated! - LAUGHTER

0:30:11 > 0:30:14I'll be interested to see if they do have strong soloists.

0:30:14 > 0:30:17- Yeah, I think they're in there. - The one that sang first was good.

0:30:17 > 0:30:21They just played it safe. It just felt a little bit safe.

0:30:21 > 0:30:24They've also got a couple of people who aren't giving anything facially.

0:30:24 > 0:30:26Mmm.

0:30:26 > 0:30:28And you've got the front ones who are giving SO much,

0:30:28 > 0:30:31that it makes the back ones look, like, not interested.

0:30:31 > 0:30:35Is it too safe for them to get through, that's the thing?

0:30:35 > 0:30:38# Hold on. #

0:30:43 > 0:30:46Domino performed with full-on energy

0:30:46 > 0:30:48and Figure of 8 showed the judges what a glee club truly is.

0:30:48 > 0:30:51But did they play it too safe?

0:30:51 > 0:30:53Next, the final two groups take to the stage.

0:30:53 > 0:30:58Will GR8 Expectations and LS8 do enough to gain a place in the heats?

0:30:58 > 0:31:01I loved it! I am thoroughly entertained.

0:31:01 > 0:31:03You are terrifyingly brilliant.

0:31:03 > 0:31:05From the minute you started singing, I was... No!

0:31:05 > 0:31:09From the minute you turned around, I was, "Wow! This is incredible."

0:31:12 > 0:31:17Right, next up we have Great Expectations from North Yorkshire.

0:31:17 > 0:31:18Saw these guys in Manchester.

0:31:18 > 0:31:21- Good morning, everybody. - Good morning!

0:31:21 > 0:31:24'They are very much a glee club.'

0:31:24 > 0:31:26You talk about a wall of sound -

0:31:26 > 0:31:31when they were singing, they were like the Niagara Falls of sound.

0:31:31 > 0:31:34# He stands like a statue becomes part of a machine... #

0:31:34 > 0:31:36Um, it was a bit overkill.

0:31:36 > 0:31:40And I'm hoping that they have learned to blend better.

0:31:40 > 0:31:43But I think they have potential, so, they're back.

0:31:43 > 0:31:45Do you have any sections of your routine you're worried about?

0:31:45 > 0:31:49- Or that haven't quite gone to plan in rehearsals?- ALL: Not really.

0:31:49 > 0:31:51Just if the boys spin like last time.

0:31:54 > 0:31:57- What happened when the boys spin? - We keep forgetting to do it!

0:31:57 > 0:32:00- LAUGHTER - So remember to spin! Yep.

0:32:00 > 0:32:04Just before you go in, do you have any warm-up that you like to do?

0:32:04 > 0:32:08# Fish and chips, fish and chips, fish and chip chip chips

0:32:08 > 0:32:10# Fish and chips, fish and chips fish and chip chip chips

0:32:10 > 0:32:12# Fish and chips, fish and chip chip chips. #

0:32:20 > 0:32:24# Ever since I was a young boy, I've played the silver ball

0:32:24 > 0:32:27# From Soho down to Brighton I must have played them all

0:32:27 > 0:32:30# But I ain't seen nothing like him in any amusement hall... #

0:32:30 > 0:32:32- Spin! Yes! - # That deaf, dumb and blind kid

0:32:32 > 0:32:36# Sure plays a mean pinball

0:32:41 > 0:32:43# He stands like a statue

0:32:43 > 0:32:45# Becomes part of the machine

0:32:45 > 0:32:47# Feeling all the bumpers

0:32:47 > 0:32:49# Always playing clean

0:32:49 > 0:32:50# He plays by intuition

0:32:50 > 0:32:52# The digit counters fall

0:32:52 > 0:32:54# That deaf, dumb and blind kid

0:32:54 > 0:32:56# Sure plays a mean pinball

0:33:03 > 0:33:05# He's a pinball wizard

0:33:05 > 0:33:07# There's go to be a twist

0:33:07 > 0:33:09# A pinball wizard

0:33:09 > 0:33:13# Got such a supple wrist

0:33:15 > 0:33:17# How do you think he does it?

0:33:17 > 0:33:18# I don't know

0:33:18 > 0:33:22# What makes him so good?

0:33:22 > 0:33:24# Ohhh ohhh ohhh

0:33:25 > 0:33:29# I thought I was The Bally table king

0:33:29 > 0:33:35# But I just handed my pinball crown to him

0:33:36 > 0:33:40# To him

0:33:40 > 0:33:46# To him. #

0:33:48 > 0:33:52CLAPPING

0:33:52 > 0:33:54- Did they do you proud? - Yes, they did.

0:33:55 > 0:33:58You look like a glee club, and I love your energy.

0:33:58 > 0:34:02Those are the two biggest things for me that are great positives.

0:34:02 > 0:34:03Lots of big voices.

0:34:03 > 0:34:07One thing you really need to look at, which is amongst the girls -

0:34:07 > 0:34:09some of you have got those big belty chest voices,

0:34:09 > 0:34:12and then you've got the higher girls with their head voices,

0:34:12 > 0:34:13who sound...

0:34:13 > 0:34:15- HIGH-PITCHED:- # A little bit like this... #

0:34:15 > 0:34:17Those two sounds are SO different,

0:34:17 > 0:34:21you've got to work out how you can get those voices to blend together.

0:34:21 > 0:34:24It would be much more powerful if you could do that.

0:34:24 > 0:34:27- Altogether, I found you really entertaining.- ALL: Thank you.

0:34:27 > 0:34:30I like the fact you started with the boys. That's really strong.

0:34:30 > 0:34:32But it's when you all came in together on

0:34:32 > 0:34:35- "He stands like a statue." Suddenly it was like... - HE CLICKS FINGERS

0:34:35 > 0:34:38Ping! The lights go on - I get it that's your sound.

0:34:38 > 0:34:40That harmony sound.

0:34:40 > 0:34:42It's a great sound.

0:34:42 > 0:34:45That's your strength, really play that up.

0:34:45 > 0:34:48I was not expecting that at all, but I'm saying it was brilliant.

0:34:48 > 0:34:51I loved it from the minute you started singing I was, wo... No!

0:34:51 > 0:34:54From the minute you turned around, I was, "Wow! This is incredible."

0:34:54 > 0:34:56- What's your name?- Will.

0:34:56 > 0:34:59- Your facial expressions were amazing!- Thank you.

0:34:59 > 0:35:01The whole time I couldn't stop looking at you.

0:35:01 > 0:35:04Girls, you were brilliant. And the two boys, as well. It was fantastic.

0:35:04 > 0:35:05Loved it.

0:35:07 > 0:35:09They said some lovely things to you!

0:35:09 > 0:35:11What did you make of all their comments?

0:35:11 > 0:35:15They were so complimentary. Like, they were really nice, like...

0:35:15 > 0:35:18It was just generally, really kind of them to say those things.

0:35:18 > 0:35:21- And you spun!- ALL: Yes!

0:35:21 > 0:35:24Oh, excellent. I'm very pleased. You did fantastically well.

0:35:24 > 0:35:27And you had lovely comments. So go and chill out.

0:35:27 > 0:35:29ALL: Thank you.

0:35:29 > 0:35:32One of my issues was that they were over-singing. Continuously.

0:35:32 > 0:35:37And in a small room, at one point, I was just, like - whoa, too much!

0:35:37 > 0:35:38I hope they learn to blend better.

0:35:38 > 0:35:43They should know - actually, some of us are really shouty-shouty sounding,

0:35:43 > 0:35:45and some of us are really holy-sounding,

0:35:45 > 0:35:47and those voices don't match.

0:35:47 > 0:35:50- They looked amazing. - Yeah. The energy.

0:35:50 > 0:35:52I felt like I was at the theatre watching them.

0:35:52 > 0:35:53So I really enjoyed that.

0:35:53 > 0:36:00# To him! #

0:36:08 > 0:36:11Right, next up we have LS8 from Leeds

0:36:11 > 0:36:13and I think you guys might enjoy this.

0:36:13 > 0:36:15Very theatrical, very unusual.

0:36:15 > 0:36:18I chose them and brought them back for that reason.

0:36:18 > 0:36:22# Let's do the time-warp again... #

0:36:22 > 0:36:24LAUGHTER

0:36:26 > 0:36:29So you've got a big character part How do you prepare yourself for that?

0:36:29 > 0:36:33You have to get like really creepy, so you get into weird positions.

0:36:33 > 0:36:36So is that what your leader told you - to be all creepy and weird?

0:36:36 > 0:36:38- Yeah.- All of you have got to be creepy and weird?- Yeah!

0:36:58 > 0:36:59They do creepy and weird very well.

0:36:59 > 0:37:02They're creepy and weird kids. No, they're not!

0:37:10 > 0:37:13# It's astounding

0:37:13 > 0:37:17# Time is...fleeting

0:37:17 > 0:37:21# Madness...takes its toll

0:37:21 > 0:37:24# But listen...closely

0:37:24 > 0:37:26# Not for very much...longer

0:37:27 > 0:37:32# I've got to...keep control

0:37:32 > 0:37:35# It's just a jump to the left

0:37:35 > 0:37:38# And then a step to the right

0:37:38 > 0:37:40# Put your hands on your...hips

0:37:40 > 0:37:43# And bring your knees in tight

0:37:43 > 0:37:46# But it's the pelvic thrust

0:37:46 > 0:37:49# That really drives you insane

0:37:49 > 0:37:54# Let's do the time-warp again

0:37:54 > 0:37:59# Let's do the time-warp again

0:38:00 > 0:38:03# Well, I was walking down the street just having a think

0:38:03 > 0:38:06# When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink

0:38:06 > 0:38:08# He shook-a me up he took me by surprise

0:38:08 > 0:38:11# He had a pickup truck and those devil's eyes

0:38:11 > 0:38:14# He stared at me and I felt a change

0:38:14 > 0:38:17# Time meant nothing never would again

0:38:17 > 0:38:21# Let's do the time-warp again

0:38:21 > 0:38:27Let's do the time-warp again. #

0:38:32 > 0:38:34- Happy with that one?- Really happy. I'm always happy with them.

0:38:38 > 0:38:42Well, for me that was Triple A Star with knobs on!

0:38:42 > 0:38:46On Glee Club, we have never mentioned speak singing before,

0:38:46 > 0:38:51that was one of the best performances of speak singing I've ever heard. Fantastic!

0:38:51 > 0:38:57Everyone on that stage performing at 150%, no weak links.

0:38:57 > 0:39:02- I loved it! I am thoroughly entertained.- ALL:- Thank you.

0:39:02 > 0:39:05I normally hate it when young people do that song,

0:39:05 > 0:39:09because you've got to be completely over the top and totally unselfconscious.

0:39:09 > 0:39:16And at your age most people aren't, but you guys were. And you, John, were brilliantly demented leading it.

0:39:16 > 0:39:21And the rest of you matched him. You were terrifyingly brilliant.

0:39:21 > 0:39:24- ALL:- Thank you. - I was breathing for you there.

0:39:24 > 0:39:28I was out of breath for you. You're not even out of breath, that's incredible.

0:39:28 > 0:39:31And the vocals as well. For how much dancing you were doing,

0:39:31 > 0:39:35you could hardly tell that you were even dancing, there were no shakes or bumps or anything.

0:39:35 > 0:39:37- ALL:- Thank you. - Well done.

0:39:37 > 0:39:39APPLAUSE

0:39:39 > 0:39:42How do you feel about being called "demented"?

0:39:42 > 0:39:45ALL LAUGH

0:39:45 > 0:39:49It's the first time I've heard it. ALL LAUGH

0:39:49 > 0:39:52It's... It was great because I was demented.

0:39:52 > 0:39:56Have a little celebration. You deserve it. Well done.

0:39:56 > 0:39:58I want to join in.

0:39:58 > 0:40:00# Let's do the time-warp! #

0:40:00 > 0:40:04I'm just going to keep doing... # Let's do the time-warp again! #

0:40:04 > 0:40:05- They were brilliant.- Yeah.

0:40:05 > 0:40:08- They were fantastic! - I was on the edge of my seat.

0:40:08 > 0:40:11- I was like... It made you want to stand up and dance.- Yeah.

0:40:11 > 0:40:15- That's what it's all about, a glee club.- Yeah, totally.

0:40:15 > 0:40:18If I knew the routine, I'd have been up there with them.

0:40:18 > 0:40:22# Let's do the time-warp again! #

0:40:32 > 0:40:36Here's a quick reminder of the glee clubs that have preformed today.

0:40:40 > 0:40:43# Don't matter what they say to keep you up at night... #

0:40:46 > 0:40:49# Let's go dancing in the moonlight

0:40:49 > 0:40:52# Take me down like I'm a domino... #

0:40:56 > 0:41:02# You're like a laserlight coming down, coming down on me... #

0:41:06 > 0:41:08# Cos we are living in a material world

0:41:08 > 0:41:12# And I am a material girl... #

0:41:14 > 0:41:16# Don't blame it on the sunshine

0:41:16 > 0:41:18# Don't blame it on the moonlight

0:41:18 > 0:41:21# Don't blame it on the good times blame it on the boogie... #

0:41:25 > 0:41:27# Some day, somebody's gonna make you want to turn around

0:41:27 > 0:41:29# And say goodbye... #

0:41:31 > 0:41:33# That deaf dumb and blind kid

0:41:33 > 0:41:36# Sure plays a mean pinball... #

0:42:20 > 0:42:22Yep. Yep. OK.

0:42:22 > 0:42:25- Who's a definite no for you. - Yeah, a definite no.

0:42:25 > 0:42:28- Really?- Yeah.- They're a definite yes. - We loved them.

0:42:28 > 0:42:31One can go through and two have to go.

0:42:31 > 0:42:35I found there was something a little more genuine about them for some reason over them.

0:42:35 > 0:42:41- OK, they'll go. So now it's down to these two. Of these two?- Yeah?

0:42:41 > 0:42:44- They should go through. Is that a yes from you, John?- It's yes from me.

0:42:44 > 0:42:50- I haven't said yes.- Why are we arguing this? There's two people saying yes, one saying no.

0:42:50 > 0:42:52You're out-ruled.

0:42:52 > 0:42:55Overruled, outnumbered! BOTH LAUGH
