0:03:12 > 0:03:15Today, let's find out more about head judge Carrie.

0:03:17 > 0:03:21I started my career as a dancer. I then became a singer.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23I then became a coach.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26When you are looking at a performance,

0:03:26 > 0:03:30to be able to critique on all those levels is really important.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35I want people at home to be thinking,

0:03:35 > 0:03:37"That was so inspiring, I want to start singing."

0:03:46 > 0:03:48Ah!

0:03:48 > 0:03:50- So, so talented.- What, the judges?

0:03:50 > 0:03:53- I was talking about us, but, yeah, all right.- Good one.

0:03:53 > 0:03:54Now for the important bit.

0:03:54 > 0:03:5715 groups have made it through to the heats.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59Today, three of those acts will battle it out for our experts

0:04:03 > 0:04:06All four judges will be giving marks out of ten for each

0:04:06 > 0:04:09of the disciplines, so there are plenty of points to be won.

0:04:11 > 0:04:15head judge Carrie will decide who gets the medals. Thanks, Carrie.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18The acts with the top five scores across the heats will then

0:04:30 > 0:04:33Do you know that trophy started life as a washing-up bottle?

0:04:33 > 0:04:36- And look at it now. - Look at it now. Amazing!

0:04:36 > 0:04:40OK, let's find out how Naomi and the groups are getting on backstage.

0:04:40 > 0:04:42Thank you very much, Sam and Mark.

0:04:42 > 0:04:45Yes, I am here backstage with our three clubs today.

0:04:45 > 0:04:47We've got Musicality, New Creation and Encore.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51Now, Musicality, I have read that you have rehearsed in some pretty

0:04:51 > 0:04:53unusual places. What is the most odd?

0:04:53 > 0:04:56Sometimes in the hotel,

0:04:56 > 0:04:59we go in the bedroom and shove the beds to the wall,

0:04:59 > 0:05:03just to get as much space as we can.

0:05:03 > 0:05:05Sounds like a good plan.

0:05:05 > 0:05:09Luke, you are the only boy out of all of these clubs. Do you mind?

0:05:09 > 0:05:13Well, I do kind of mind that I'm the only boy.

0:05:13 > 0:05:17But that makes you ultra special. And you are going to stand out.

0:05:17 > 0:05:19And you have got a really cool technique for learning

0:05:19 > 0:05:21- your lines, haven't you?- I do.

0:05:21 > 0:05:25I stick them to the ceiling in my bedroom, and then every morning when

0:05:25 > 0:05:30I wake up I see my lines and I grab them down and start reading them.

0:05:30 > 0:05:33Just helps it go in your head. That sounds like a great plan.

0:05:33 > 0:05:37Talking of nifty techniques, over to you, New Creation.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40You've got some cool ways of getting rid of your nerves, haven't you?

0:05:40 > 0:05:44Well, we just go crazy for five seconds, and then you stop.

0:05:44 > 0:05:47That's just gets rid of the nerves.

0:05:47 > 0:05:48- We've all got to go crazy?- Yeah.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50I can feel the nervous energy in this room,

0:05:50 > 0:05:52so I think we should all go crazy for five seconds.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54Everyone up for it? ALL: Yes!

0:05:54 > 0:05:56Let's have a bit of space. Ready? After three.

0:05:56 > 0:05:57Three, two, one, go crazy!

0:05:57 > 0:05:59THEY SCREAM

0:06:01 > 0:06:04Oh, and we've broken the set. Fantastic.

0:06:04 > 0:06:06You just prop it up in the background. That's it.

0:06:06 > 0:06:11No, Encore, what is this I hear about one particular item of clothing?

0:06:11 > 0:06:14- The onesies. - You are mad about the onesies.

0:06:14 > 0:06:17Our set is just knocking out all of the other teams.

0:06:17 > 0:06:18Did you do that on purpose?

0:06:18 > 0:06:21Did you set that up to try and take out the other clubs?

0:06:21 > 0:06:23THEY LAUGH

0:06:23 > 0:06:25So you love the onesie. Why do you love the onesie?

0:06:25 > 0:06:26They are so comfy and so warm.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29We just wear them all the time, don't we?

0:06:29 > 0:06:32- Didn't fancy wearing it for your performance today, though?- No.

0:06:32 > 0:06:37Well, all our groups arrived in Glasgow yesterday for the first time.

0:06:37 > 0:06:41But let's find out, have they all become BFFs or CRRs?

0:06:41 > 0:06:43Comic Relief Rivals.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49When Musicality, Encore and New Creation all met,

0:06:49 > 0:06:52the chat was soon in full flow.

0:07:07 > 0:07:10But did they get on or did they end up climbing the walls?

0:07:10 > 0:07:13As it turns out, it was a bit of both.

0:07:13 > 0:07:16I love being able to come here because it feels less formal.

0:07:16 > 0:07:18- It's nice to meet the other groups. - Yeah, get to know them all.

0:07:18 > 0:07:20It definitely makes it feel

0:07:20 > 0:07:22a lot less competitive.

0:07:22 > 0:07:23Yeah, definitely.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26- You feel a lot more comfortable around the other groups.- Yeah.

0:07:26 > 0:07:30SHE GIGGLES ANDS SCREAMS

0:07:30 > 0:07:34It seemed like all the Glee Clubs were already hitting the heights.

0:07:35 > 0:07:38I think they are all really, really nice.

0:07:38 > 0:07:41Yeah, because we don't know them much, but they seem really friendly.

0:07:41 > 0:07:44As soon as they laugh with each other,

0:07:44 > 0:07:45we laugh with each other, too.

0:07:47 > 0:07:48That's how we get along.

0:07:51 > 0:07:53It's nice making friends when you come to things like this.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57I don't like to be the group that's on the side, not making friends.

0:08:01 > 0:08:04- You do dancing as well, Anna?- Anna.

0:08:08 > 0:08:12- Our style is pop, isn't it? - It's modern music.

0:08:14 > 0:08:17At the train station, we started to sing

0:08:17 > 0:08:20and people were like turning their heads, thinking it was a flash mob.

0:08:20 > 0:08:22It was fun.

0:08:22 > 0:08:24THEY GIGGLE

0:08:27 > 0:08:29Come down!

0:08:29 > 0:08:31Use your right foot.

0:13:31 > 0:13:34CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:13:36 > 0:13:39Aw, yes!

0:13:39 > 0:13:40Where are you going?

0:13:40 > 0:13:43Sorry, I wanted to join in, that was so good.

0:13:43 > 0:13:46That was absolutely brilliant. What a fantastic start.

0:13:46 > 0:13:48Let's see what the judges thought.

0:13:48 > 0:13:52Carrie, that is the first challenge song. Did the vocals do it for you?

0:13:52 > 0:13:55Yeah. With this song, the vocals

0:13:55 > 0:13:58and the performance are absolutely inextricably linked,

0:13:58 > 0:14:02because the words of the song are so inspirational that you have

0:14:02 > 0:14:04to be giving it loads of inner life.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06And that has to connect with the singing.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09So in terms of Musicality, I feel like you have upped your game

0:14:09 > 0:14:11since the auditions.

0:14:11 > 0:14:13I feel like you've come back, you look like a group now.

0:14:13 > 0:14:17You have listened to what we said. Your singing was fantastic.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21Beautiful harmonies. Loads of inner life. Really giving it some.

0:14:21 > 0:14:22Well done.

0:14:22 > 0:14:26For our second group, New Creation, what we loved about you

0:14:26 > 0:14:30in the auditions is that you are just kind of cool and throwaway.

0:14:30 > 0:14:32There was a lot of each person moving different ways.

0:14:32 > 0:14:35I think, visually, you still need to be looking at what you're doing.

0:14:35 > 0:14:37Vocally, still very strong.

0:14:37 > 0:14:40Encore, I remember in the auditions, when I look at you, I think,

0:14:40 > 0:14:43"Oh, yeah. These are the girls that did loads of dancing,"

0:14:43 > 0:14:45so I was really impressed,

0:14:45 > 0:14:48particularly with the first half of that number.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51Vocals and harmonies coming through

0:14:51 > 0:14:53and leaving all the dancing to the face.

0:14:53 > 0:14:56All the inner life coming through, I loved it. Very well done.

0:14:56 > 0:14:59APPLAUSE

0:14:59 > 0:15:02David, were you entertained?

0:15:02 > 0:15:04Yeah, but again, in three very different ways.

0:15:04 > 0:15:07I feel like Musicality, they look like your mates.

0:15:07 > 0:15:09They look kind of like, "Yeah, come on, let's give it a go!"

0:15:09 > 0:15:12Then when they start performing, they're really locked,

0:15:12 > 0:15:16they're unified, they are doing their own thing, but all together.

0:15:16 > 0:15:20New Creation, I thought, again, you guys were entertaining.

0:15:20 > 0:15:22But I could sense your nerves.

0:15:22 > 0:15:25Halfway through it was like you were going, "Oh, let's do it anyway."

0:15:25 > 0:15:28And then, you really started to come through.

0:15:28 > 0:15:30But the first little part,

0:15:30 > 0:15:33what I would say is similar to what I said when I saw you before.

0:15:33 > 0:15:36You've got to realise how good you are, forget the nerves,

0:15:36 > 0:15:39just give it everything. You've got one shot, go for it.

0:15:39 > 0:15:43And I have to say, Encore, nice harmonies, again, it was nice

0:15:43 > 0:15:46to see you not feeling as though you had to somehow

0:15:46 > 0:15:51augment your performance with loads and loads of movement.

0:15:51 > 0:15:56Your singing is really together, really unified and really strong.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58APPLAUSE

0:15:58 > 0:16:02John, which group stood out for you?

0:16:02 > 0:16:05This round, look, all three have something special to give,

0:16:05 > 0:16:06that's why you're here.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09The reality is, for me, that performance,

0:16:09 > 0:16:11what is it about you Welsh people?

0:16:11 > 0:16:17It's like you've got music in your heart and soul. It just oozed.

0:16:17 > 0:16:20I felt every word you were saying, so well done for that.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25- And Sisco, were you impressed by our groups?- Definitely.

0:16:25 > 0:16:29I think with Musicality, you were more all rounded,

0:16:29 > 0:16:32the performance, the vocals and the small bits of choreography you had

0:16:32 > 0:16:36all marinated together, so it was really pleasant to watch, well done.

0:16:36 > 0:16:37With New Creation,

0:16:37 > 0:16:40some of you started the step clicks on the upbeat,

0:16:40 > 0:16:43so it made you look quite awkward,

0:16:43 > 0:16:46like you were doing stuff in opposite directions, you guys need

0:16:46 > 0:16:49to be in your comfort zone, even if it's not your type of song.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51Alter egos soon as you get on stage,

0:16:51 > 0:16:54because you guys looked a bit intimidated by the song.

0:16:54 > 0:16:58And I think you have got more to give. Encore, I love the vocals.

0:16:58 > 0:17:02It's good to see a dancing group as well that can sing.

0:17:02 > 0:17:04Some of the moves were a little harsh,

0:17:04 > 0:17:06the choreography was a little unnecessarily full-out

0:17:06 > 0:17:09for this song, but, you know, if you can dance, why not?

0:17:09 > 0:17:10Thank you.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:17:13 > 0:17:17OK. While we check and verify the scores for Round 1,

0:17:34 > 0:17:36and put on your own performance for Red Nose Day?

0:17:38 > 0:17:39Ooh! Oh.

0:17:39 > 0:17:40THEY LAUGH

0:19:02 > 0:19:05we last saw you. Do you feel like you are performing differently?

0:19:05 > 0:19:07I think we are performing completely differently.

0:19:07 > 0:19:11We have just grouped together and worked on our ensemble more

0:19:11 > 0:19:16- and our soloists, obviously.- Well, it is obviously paying off, well done.

0:19:16 > 0:19:20Over to you. Hello. Are you feeling any more relaxed now?

0:19:20 > 0:19:21David said halfway through that song,

0:19:21 > 0:19:24you started to come to life. Are you feeling more relaxed now?

0:19:24 > 0:19:27We really are confident, it's just a shame that it didn't come across,

0:19:27 > 0:19:30we didn't come across as confident as we really are.

0:19:30 > 0:19:31Because we really do enjoy it.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34Yasmin, what are you going to pull out of the bag

0:19:34 > 0:19:36for Round 2's song to wow the judges?

0:19:36 > 0:19:38Well, vocals are definitely our strong point,

0:19:38 > 0:19:40so hopefully we will wow the judges with that.

0:19:40 > 0:19:42Do you want to do any more shaking out the nerves?

0:19:42 > 0:19:43THEY LAUGH

0:19:43 > 0:19:46Too embarrassing in front of the audience? Maybe backstage?

0:19:46 > 0:19:48Yeah, you're right, they're good.

0:19:48 > 0:19:51And over to you, Encore, do I even need to ask if you enjoyed that?

0:19:51 > 0:19:54We absolutely loved it. It was so much fun.

0:19:54 > 0:19:57Is it good, being in the glee club studio in front of this

0:19:57 > 0:20:01- lovely audience? Aren't they beautiful?- It's great.

0:20:01 > 0:20:03And that's all we have to say about that!

0:20:04 > 0:20:08there are still plenty of points to play for, so please, audience,

0:20:26 > 0:20:29Comic Relief works hard to support people who are leading

0:20:29 > 0:20:31incredibly difficult lives,

0:20:31 > 0:20:35by funding projects all over Africa as well as right here in the UK.

0:20:36 > 0:20:40In fact, the charity has funded over 15,000 projects in the UK,

0:21:29 > 0:21:30a show-stopping performance.

0:21:30 > 0:21:33They will need to score as many points as they can to secure

0:21:33 > 0:21:35a top spot on the Glee Club leaderboard.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38Remember, only the top five acts will go through to the live finals.

0:21:38 > 0:21:42Mr D, can you please give us the details for the final round?

0:21:44 > 0:21:45The groups will have

0:21:45 > 0:21:46to give it their all.

0:21:46 > 0:21:47It's their final chance

0:21:47 > 0:21:50to build those all-important points.

0:21:51 > 0:21:54They are the only group representing Wales. All right!

0:21:54 > 0:21:58Let's take a look at Musicality's journey to the heats.

0:21:58 > 0:22:01'From their first appearance in Cardiff, Musicality really

0:22:01 > 0:22:04'seemed to live up to their name.'

0:22:04 > 0:22:07That was really good! Really, really enjoyed that.

0:22:07 > 0:22:10I actually believed what you were singing.

0:22:10 > 0:22:14# Joyful, joyful Lord, we adore thee... #

0:22:14 > 0:22:18'And it wasn't only John who believed the group had potential.'

0:22:18 > 0:22:20All of the vocals together were really slick,

0:22:20 > 0:22:23- and I think it was a great performance, well done.- Thank you.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26You all look really different, you are all different ages,

0:22:26 > 0:22:27which is great.

0:22:27 > 0:22:30I kind of would like to see some uniformity somewhere in what

0:22:30 > 0:22:33you're wearing. That's my only negative comment.

0:22:33 > 0:22:35The rest of it, perfect.

0:22:35 > 0:22:39'So, how did Musicality get dressed for success this time round?'

0:22:40 > 0:22:43I understood completely with the outfits.

0:22:43 > 0:22:47We've decided to go for the colour purple, and denim.

0:22:47 > 0:22:50There's your stage!

0:22:50 > 0:22:54- How old are you?- 10. - Are you nervous?- A bit.

0:22:54 > 0:22:59Only a bit? I'd be terrified if I had to do that!

0:22:59 > 0:23:01I think you're amazing!

0:23:01 > 0:23:04- How are you feeling today? - Really excited and nervous.

0:23:04 > 0:23:06I'm really excited because not only will we

0:23:06 > 0:23:09be able to perform in front of Carrie, David and Sisco,

0:23:09 > 0:23:13but we'll be able to perform in front of the audience.

0:23:13 > 0:23:16Because, like, I've always wanted to be on TV and it's my first time.

0:23:16 > 0:23:19So I'm really excited about it.

0:23:19 > 0:23:22I'm pretty sure you're the only Welsh group through to this stage.

0:23:22 > 0:23:26- Really?- Are we really? Let's do this! - So you've got to do this for Wales.

0:23:26 > 0:23:27Yes, definitely.

0:23:58 > 0:24:03# Working for the man every night and day

0:24:03 > 0:24:07# And I never lost one minute of sleep

0:24:07 > 0:24:13# Cos I'd be worried 'bout the way things might have been

0:24:13 > 0:24:17# Big wheels keep on turning

0:24:19 > 0:24:24# Proud Mary keep on burning

0:24:24 > 0:24:27- # And we're rolling - Ooh

0:24:27 > 0:24:29- # Rolling - Ooh

0:24:45 > 0:24:48# Working for the man every night and day

0:24:48 > 0:24:51# And I never lost one minute of sleep

0:24:51 > 0:24:53# Worrying 'bout the way things might have been

0:24:53 > 0:24:58# Big wheels keep on turning, Proud Mary keep on burning

0:24:58 > 0:25:04# Rolling, rolling, rolling on a river

0:25:05 > 0:25:13# Ba-da-da, ba-da-da, ba-da da da da da da-da, yeah! #

0:25:14 > 0:25:18CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:25:19 > 0:25:26- Oh, yeah!- Yeah! Is that the end pose?- Nice going, guys.

0:25:26 > 0:25:27Well done, girls. And boys!

0:25:27 > 0:25:31David, did you think Musicality did Wales proud there?

0:25:31 > 0:25:38- Yes, I did! What's the name of your soloist?- Mia.- Mia was fantastic.

0:25:40 > 0:25:42She's like a little girl with...

0:25:44 > 0:25:48..a little girl with this voice that was just so confident

0:25:48 > 0:25:51and committed, such conviction in it.

0:25:51 > 0:25:53And then, when you all come together, there is such a strength

0:25:53 > 0:25:58in what you're doing vocally, loved your movement, hugely entertaining.

0:25:58 > 0:25:59Nice one.

0:25:59 > 0:26:01CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:26:01 > 0:26:02- It's a good start.- Not bad.

0:26:02 > 0:26:05John, vocally, do you think that was good enough?

0:26:05 > 0:26:08Everything was good enough. It was a complete performance.

0:26:08 > 0:26:12Vocally, emotionally, visually.

0:26:12 > 0:26:16- Solos - Mia, belissima!- Fantastic.

0:26:16 > 0:26:20That was such, such a good performance, thank you.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25Sisco, what did you think of the choreography?

0:26:25 > 0:26:28The choreography was really good, I'm glad you injected

0:26:28 > 0:26:31a bit of the original choreography in there as well.

0:26:31 > 0:26:34While I first heard it, I was nervous because it's such a big song,

0:26:34 > 0:26:36but you guys really did it justice, well done.

0:26:36 > 0:26:38CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:26:38 > 0:26:41And finally, Carrie, do you see Musicality as a finalist?

0:26:41 > 0:26:44Oh, definitely, they could get through.

0:26:44 > 0:26:47I think it's hard, because each group is bringing something different today

0:26:47 > 0:26:49so you have to judge it within their own range.

0:26:49 > 0:26:54- And also look at what else we've got. But, yeah, definitely.- Nice.

0:26:54 > 0:26:56- Thank you. - Thank you very much, judges.

0:26:57 > 0:26:58Got to be happy with that.

0:27:11 > 0:27:17Come on over, Musicality. Mia, such a big voice, such a little person!

0:27:17 > 0:27:21You must feel really good about those comments from the judges.

0:27:21 > 0:27:22Yeah, it's really great.

0:27:22 > 0:27:25Were you chuffed that they said such nice things about your voice?

0:27:25 > 0:27:28Yeah, I was really chuffed.

0:27:28 > 0:27:30And do you think that everybody that will watch you at home will be

0:27:30 > 0:27:35- very proud?- Yeah.- Proud Marys! - My family will be really proud.

0:27:35 > 0:27:36I bet they will.

0:27:36 > 0:27:38I was dancing away backstage, having the time of my life.

0:27:38 > 0:27:41You are the only group through to this round representing Wales,

0:27:41 > 0:27:43- so do any of you speak Welsh?- Yeah.

0:27:43 > 0:27:46Do you want to translate a bit of Welsh for me?

0:27:46 > 0:27:48OK, let's hear some Welsh.

0:27:48 > 0:27:51Could you maybe say, "Naomi is better than Sam and Mark"?

0:27:51 > 0:27:56- Oh, no, no, wait. Say, "Naomi is WAY better than Sam and Mark."- Oi!

0:27:56 > 0:27:59Mae Naomi lot gwell na Sam a Mark.

0:27:59 > 0:28:04Yay! Doesn't that sound good? Let's hear it for Musicality!

0:28:04 > 0:28:07CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:28:07 > 0:28:09I couldn't believe that. Thank you, Naomi.

0:28:09 > 0:28:11She is way better than us, though.

0:28:11 > 0:28:15Now let's take a look at New Creation's journey to the heats.

0:28:15 > 0:28:18'New Creation's sound has been highly praised

0:28:18 > 0:28:20'since they first met John in Manchester.'

0:28:20 > 0:28:25So, it's been an acoustic privilege for me, sounds really good.

0:28:25 > 0:28:29'Carrie echoed those feelings when the group came to London.'

0:28:29 > 0:28:34I close my eyes and I listen to the most fantastic sound.

0:28:34 > 0:28:36# Cos she's gone

0:28:38 > 0:28:41# In her shadow, is it me you see?

0:28:41 > 0:28:43# Cos all that's left... #

0:28:43 > 0:28:44'But she had a different reaction

0:28:44 > 0:28:47'when it came to other parts of their performance.'

0:28:47 > 0:28:53I opened my eyes, I see five really scared girls, that look like

0:28:53 > 0:28:57they can't wait for it to be finished and the torture will be over.

0:28:59 > 0:29:03- They said we all look really scared. - Oh, right, OK!

0:29:03 > 0:29:06So, that's what we've really tried to work on this time.

0:29:06 > 0:29:09How do you do that? How do you not look scared onstage?

0:29:09 > 0:29:13What we do is we do this thing where we just look in the mirror

0:29:13 > 0:29:19and we go over the top. Then we do it really dull.

0:29:19 > 0:29:23- Then we find a place in-between.- OK. Sounds like a good technique!

0:29:25 > 0:29:28What are you thinking about as you are singing?

0:29:28 > 0:29:33Trying to look like we are enjoying ourselves, really. Just relax!

0:29:33 > 0:29:35- Are you enjoying yourselves? - Yeah.- Yeah. Good.

0:29:35 > 0:29:39'So, can New Creation recreate their wonderful sound one more time?'

0:29:39 > 0:29:43Singing and dancing for a place in the live finals

0:29:43 > 0:29:46with Wide Awake by Katy Perry, it's New Creation!

0:29:46 > 0:29:48APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:29:55 > 0:29:58# I'm wide awake

0:30:01 > 0:30:03# I'm wide awake

0:30:03 > 0:30:06# Yeah, I was in the dark I was falling hard

0:30:06 > 0:30:09# With an open heart I'm wide awake

0:30:09 > 0:30:11# How did I read the stars so wrong?

0:30:11 > 0:30:14# Woh-oh-oh-oh

0:30:14 > 0:30:16# I'm wide awake And now it's clear to me

0:30:16 > 0:30:19# That everything you see ain't always what it seems

0:30:19 > 0:30:24# I'm wide awake Yeah, I was dreaming for so long

0:30:24 > 0:30:26# Woh-oh-oh-oh

0:30:26 > 0:30:28# I wish I knew then what I know now

0:30:28 > 0:30:31# Wouldn't dive in, wouldn't bow down

0:30:31 > 0:30:34# Gravity hurts, you made it so sweet

0:30:34 > 0:30:38# Till I woke up on, on the concrete

0:30:38 > 0:30:43# Falling from cloud nine

0:30:43 > 0:30:50# Crashing from the heights

0:30:50 > 0:30:56# Letting go tonight

0:30:56 > 0:31:01# Falling from cloud nine

0:31:01 > 0:31:03# I'm wide awake

0:31:03 > 0:31:08# Thunder rumbling, castles crumbling

0:31:08 > 0:31:13# I am trying to hold on

0:31:13 > 0:31:17# I'm wide awake. #

0:31:17 > 0:31:24APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:31:24 > 0:31:28- Well done, girls.- Nice one, girls. Budge in, budge in, there you go.

0:31:28 > 0:31:32- Get nice and tight.- We don't smell, we don't smell. Well, I do!

0:31:32 > 0:31:35John, what did you think of that performance?

0:31:35 > 0:31:36This is what I see.

0:31:36 > 0:31:39I mean, New Creation, this is why I chose you guys.

0:31:39 > 0:31:43It's that sound. Your sound is incredible,

0:31:43 > 0:31:47when you get it right and it's there and I felt the confidence.

0:31:47 > 0:31:50You have this sound like that '80s girl band, Wilson Phillips.

0:31:50 > 0:31:52I don't know if you ever heard of them.

0:31:52 > 0:31:54There's something magical about that sound.

0:31:54 > 0:31:56- They probably don't! - We've not even heard of them, John!

0:31:56 > 0:31:58Exactly! Well, look them up, you'll see.

0:31:58 > 0:32:01- Ask your grandmother! - Yeah, ask your grandmother.

0:32:01 > 0:32:03But anyway, your sound is fantastic.

0:32:03 > 0:32:06And that just gave me a few goose bumps.

0:32:06 > 0:32:09- Very cool. - APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:32:09 > 0:32:13- Sisco, was that a confident performance?- Do you know what?

0:32:13 > 0:32:15I still think you guys are holding back.

0:32:15 > 0:32:18I see insecurity and you shouldn't, because you guys are great singers.

0:32:18 > 0:32:21And I can see that you guys love to perform.

0:32:21 > 0:32:23And I like you guys cos you guys are so, like,

0:32:23 > 0:32:27organic about your performance. But I just still need more.

0:32:27 > 0:32:28OK. Carrie, did you think

0:32:28 > 0:32:31that was the right song choice for their voices?

0:32:31 > 0:32:34I think it was the perfect song choice for you guys. I loved it.

0:32:34 > 0:32:36You don't have to be all out jazz hands, singing and dancing.

0:32:36 > 0:32:39We don't want that from you. But just that kind of,

0:32:39 > 0:32:42"I'm cool being this", you know? "I can be confident and cool."

0:32:42 > 0:32:45Rather than, "Oh, please don't look at me, I'm slightly self-conscious!"

0:32:45 > 0:32:48And it's just finding that balance. Once you find it,

0:32:48 > 0:32:50- you guys are amazing. - Thank you, Carrie.

0:32:50 > 0:32:53David, did it all come together for you?

0:32:53 > 0:32:55Here's what I want to say to you guys, OK.

0:32:55 > 0:33:01If you go through, I want you to build on this and be this and more.

0:33:01 > 0:33:05If you don't go through, I want you to stay together

0:33:05 > 0:33:06and keep building on this,

0:33:06 > 0:33:10because one day you're going to hear yourselves and see yourselves,

0:33:10 > 0:33:12you're going to wake up to the fact that actually,

0:33:12 > 0:33:14"I'm really good at this."

0:33:14 > 0:33:17You are so much better than you know you are.

0:33:17 > 0:33:20- APPLAUSE AND CHEERING - Thank you, David. Thank you, judges.

0:33:20 > 0:33:21And girls, well done.

0:33:21 > 0:33:24Please, ladies and gentlemen, give it up for New Creation!

0:33:24 > 0:33:26APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:33:29 > 0:33:31Com on over, girls. How was that?

0:33:31 > 0:33:35They were saying some lovely things about your singing, and that's coming

0:33:35 > 0:33:39from Carrie and David, who have been vocal coaching for loads of years.

0:33:39 > 0:33:41They coached loads of famous people.

0:33:41 > 0:33:44How do you feel about getting such nice comments about your singing?

0:33:44 > 0:33:45Yeah, it's really lovely,

0:33:45 > 0:33:48and we've worked so hard, so it's paid off, I think. Yet.

0:33:48 > 0:33:51How was your confidence on the stage that time round?

0:33:51 > 0:33:53I felt it was strong, it was stronger,

0:33:53 > 0:33:55because we had that buzz of performing.

0:33:55 > 0:33:57And it's just live, isn't it?

0:33:57 > 0:34:00And there's only five of you, and yet you filled that stage.

0:34:00 > 0:34:03Now, Yasmin, you've worn that hat for the last two rounds.

0:34:03 > 0:34:07If you do get through to the next one, will you all wear hats?

0:34:07 > 0:34:09Em, maybe. We might wear matching hats.

0:34:09 > 0:34:11Well, we look forward to finding out.

0:34:11 > 0:34:13Please give a great big round of applause for New Creation!

0:34:13 > 0:34:17APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:34:17 > 0:34:20Thanks, Naomi. Our last act is hoping to live up to their name.

0:34:20 > 0:34:23Plus, they're from Yorkshire, so I definitely want to see them again.

0:34:23 > 0:34:26- Let's meet Encore.- Ah!

0:34:26 > 0:34:29Encore's journey to today's show started in Manchester.

0:34:29 > 0:34:32And their performance was enough for John to take them

0:34:32 > 0:34:34to the judges' auditions in London.

0:34:34 > 0:34:37I was in two minds about these guys.

0:34:37 > 0:34:40But I see some potential in them. See what you guys think.

0:34:40 > 0:34:43# Now she's gone

0:34:43 > 0:34:47# And I'm picking up the pieces

0:34:47 > 0:34:49# I watched you cry

0:34:49 > 0:34:54# But you don't see that I'm the one by your side... #

0:34:54 > 0:34:59It feels to me that you are a dancing school who do some singing.

0:34:59 > 0:35:02I think if you do get through to the next round,

0:35:02 > 0:35:04we've got to hear more vocals.

0:35:04 > 0:35:06With Carrie's advice ringing in their ears,

0:35:06 > 0:35:08Encore were on their way to Glasgow.

0:35:08 > 0:35:12So, are they ready to shine when they take the stage once again?

0:35:13 > 0:35:17They said we were more a dance group that sings.

0:35:17 > 0:35:21So we've got to... We've taken out a little bit of the dancing,

0:35:21 > 0:35:24but we've still got it in cos that's what gives us the...

0:35:24 > 0:35:27- almost edge over other people, I think.- Sets you apart.

0:35:27 > 0:35:30Yeah. And we've worked on our vocals as well,

0:35:30 > 0:35:32and added harmonies and things like that.

0:35:32 > 0:35:36- I think we're in for a good competition.- Yeah.

0:35:36 > 0:35:40- I think this is a high-scoring round.- Hopefully.

0:35:40 > 0:35:43- I cannot wait to get on stage. - Really?- Yeah.

0:35:43 > 0:35:46- So you haven't got too nervous? - No, I'm more excited. Yeah.

0:35:48 > 0:35:51We're going to do this, girls!

0:37:45 > 0:37:48APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:37:48 > 0:37:50- Well done, guys. - Can I keep that chair, actually?

0:37:50 > 0:37:53- We'll keep that chair. - I'm getting a bit old.

0:37:53 > 0:37:56- Sit yourself down, have a seat, lovely.- Oh, thanks.

0:37:56 > 0:37:58OK, well done.

0:37:58 > 0:38:01Sisco, Encore impressed us a lot with their dancing

0:38:01 > 0:38:04back in the auditions - what did you make of that?

0:38:04 > 0:38:06I love the fact you guys use the stage.

0:38:06 > 0:38:09There was props, there's a lot of you, so I love it when someone

0:38:09 > 0:38:11uses the stage in an intelligent manner, so well done for that.

0:38:11 > 0:38:14One thing I am going to say is that you have to make sure that the

0:38:14 > 0:38:17choreography fits your facility. I saw a few mistakes.

0:38:17 > 0:38:20But, that aside, it's great that you guys have stamina,

0:38:20 > 0:38:23that you guys are doing so much, choreographically,

0:38:23 > 0:38:26with the formations and still vocally being able to keep it together.

0:38:26 > 0:38:28So, well done for that.

0:38:28 > 0:38:30APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:38:30 > 0:38:32Carrie, did you like the arrangement?

0:38:32 > 0:38:34Did I like the arrangement?

0:38:34 > 0:38:36That's actually a really good question.

0:38:36 > 0:38:39For me, the arrangement, I think, should have been more complex.

0:38:39 > 0:38:41It felt very simple. There's eight of you,

0:38:41 > 0:38:44there could have been a lot more complexity in the singing.

0:38:44 > 0:38:47Loads of complex dancing, but we have told you before,

0:38:47 > 0:38:49we need the singing to really be upped at this stage.

0:38:49 > 0:38:52OK, David, do you reckon they've done enough to make it

0:38:52 > 0:38:53through to the final?

0:38:53 > 0:38:55Hard to tell, at this stage.

0:38:55 > 0:38:58I think they could, actually, be there in the final. I don't know.

0:38:58 > 0:39:01What I do know is this they came up, they actually,

0:39:01 > 0:39:04even though they were going full-on with the dancing,

0:39:04 > 0:39:07they gave 80% singing, which meant they weren't shouting,

0:39:07 > 0:39:11they were really blending, and I really loved your ensemble sound.

0:39:12 > 0:39:14APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:39:14 > 0:39:18And, John, did you think that song suited Encore's style?

0:39:18 > 0:39:21It most definitely did. You guys did it really well.

0:39:21 > 0:39:23You danced well, I was there, I was there.

0:39:23 > 0:39:25I was in the club. I was in the club.

0:39:25 > 0:39:28So, for me, that was quite a good performance from you girls.

0:39:28 > 0:39:29Well done.

0:39:29 > 0:39:31APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:39:31 > 0:39:33Thank you very much, judges. Give it up for Encore!

0:39:33 > 0:39:36Well done, we'll move the chair, we'll move the chair.

0:39:36 > 0:39:38APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:39:38 > 0:39:40Come on over, ladies.

0:39:40 > 0:39:43Come and join me. How are you feeling after that?

0:39:43 > 0:39:46Ultimately, there were some really good comments there,

0:39:46 > 0:39:49they said some lovely things about your singing and your vocals.

0:39:49 > 0:39:51Sisco was commenting on your dancing,

0:39:51 > 0:39:53perhaps giving you some constructive feedback.

0:39:53 > 0:39:57How did you feel about getting some great constructive feedback

0:39:57 > 0:39:59from the dancer on our judging panel?

0:39:59 > 0:40:01I think it's really good we've got some feedback,

0:40:01 > 0:40:04so we can improve on it, so even if we don't get through,

0:40:04 > 0:40:08we've still got those comments to remember. So we can...

0:40:08 > 0:40:11What I want to know is, how do you keep your stamina up

0:40:11 > 0:40:15so that you can dance like that and sing so well?

0:40:15 > 0:40:18We practise, lots and lots. We just...

0:40:18 > 0:40:20- Do you get special powers from those sparkly leggings?- Maybe!

0:40:20 > 0:40:23If you do, could I borrow some,

0:40:23 > 0:40:26because I'd like to give them to Sam and Mark?

0:40:26 > 0:40:28- Yeah, you can.- Cool! Thank you very much.

0:40:28 > 0:40:30Give them a great big cheer, thank you very much!

0:40:54 > 0:40:58# Working for the man every night and day

0:40:58 > 0:41:01# And I never lost one minute of sleep
