0:01:18 > 0:01:20All right, all right. Calm down. We've got a long way to go.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23We don't want to use up all of our energy at the start of the show.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26- We're not as young as we used to be. - We're really not.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28Now, one person who definitely wouldn't be seen screaming

0:01:28 > 0:01:31with excitement, because she's just so hard of nails,

0:01:31 > 0:01:34you know what I'm saying, it's the unflappable Naomi Wilkinson!

0:01:34 > 0:01:37CHEERING

0:01:37 > 0:01:41- She's excited as well! - She's excited!- Yeah!

0:01:41 > 0:01:44Good. Hey, how you doing, Naomi?

0:01:44 > 0:01:47- You excited like us?- I'm so excited! How are you boys feeling?

0:01:47 > 0:01:50We're very good. Actually, last night, Mark and I,

0:01:53 > 0:01:56I tell you something, you are one brave lady, you!

0:01:56 > 0:01:59Is there nothing that you're scared of? Anything?

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Well, I do have this one recurring nightmare.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Basically, I'm in a studio, a bit like this,

0:02:05 > 0:02:10and there are these two sort of ghoulish, gruesome characters,

0:02:10 > 0:02:14both in flashy suits, one looks a bit like a freakish Michael McIntyre

0:02:14 > 0:02:17and the other, well, he looks all right, but he's a bit dim.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19It's horrible!

0:02:19 > 0:02:20LAUGHTER

0:02:20 > 0:02:22Why don't you take yourself backstage?

0:02:22 > 0:02:25- Safe from the gruesome twosome. - You get backstage.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27Naomi Wilkinson, everyone!

0:02:27 > 0:02:30APPLAUSE

0:02:30 > 0:02:34Now, we often get asked, "What makes this show such a success?"

0:02:34 > 0:02:36And, without a blink of an eye, I always say,

0:02:36 > 0:02:38"Me and Mark." And then I always get asked,

0:02:38 > 0:02:40"Who brings the glamour to the show?"

0:02:40 > 0:02:43And without a blink of an eye, I always say, "Me and Mark."

0:02:43 > 0:02:46Then they ask, "Who spends most time in make-up and wardrobe?"

0:02:46 > 0:02:49- Me and Mark. No!- No! Not us.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51It's, of course, the judges!

0:03:23 > 0:03:25THEY LAUGH

0:03:25 > 0:03:28OK, our judges are here, we're all ready. Are we ready, audience?

0:03:28 > 0:03:29- AUDIENCE:- Yeah!

0:03:29 > 0:03:32Judges, if you'd like to make your way over to your seats.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35Whilst they're doing that, let's find out a little bit more

0:04:30 > 0:04:33All four judges will be giving marks out of ten for each of

0:05:14 > 0:05:15Good, thank you.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18Now, you're the only original group back from the last series.

0:05:18 > 0:05:20So we didn't put you off?

0:05:20 > 0:05:23Yeah, it was really good last year, so we've come back again,

0:05:23 > 0:05:26- standing strong. - Good for you.

0:05:26 > 0:05:29And is it true that you take part in other talent shows and events?

0:05:54 > 0:05:56"but in front of a studio audience"?

0:05:56 > 0:06:00It's nerve-wracking, but I think we're all excited, really excited,

0:06:26 > 0:06:29and we've been at the Indigo, as well. Many things.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31Right, so this should be really easy for you.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33Where do you take your inspiration from?

0:06:33 > 0:06:36Oh, with gospel music and Beyonce.

0:06:36 > 0:06:38- Anyone that's really in there, you know?- Great.

0:06:45 > 0:06:48Did anyone make an impact? Or did they all drive each other M.A.D?

0:13:23 > 0:13:25# Let's go crazy, crazy, crazy

0:13:25 > 0:13:27# Till we see the sun

0:13:27 > 0:13:29# I know we only met

0:13:29 > 0:13:31# But let's pretend it's love

0:13:31 > 0:13:33# And never, never, never

0:13:33 > 0:13:35# Stop for anyone

0:13:35 > 0:13:38# Tonight let's get some

0:13:38 > 0:13:40# And live while we're young. #

0:13:40 > 0:13:45CHEERING

0:13:46 > 0:13:50- Well done!- Nice bit of 1D! Good One Direction!

0:13:50 > 0:13:52Let's see what the judges thought.

0:13:52 > 0:13:54OK, Carrie, first chance to see the groups today.

0:13:54 > 0:13:56What did you think to that?

0:13:56 > 0:13:57I think they did really well.

0:13:57 > 0:14:00I think this particular song is actually very difficult to sing.

0:14:00 > 0:14:03The Sweets, I always love your sound.

0:14:03 > 0:14:05I think you have a lovely ensemble sound. It's very in tune.

0:14:05 > 0:14:07You always deliver vocally.

0:14:07 > 0:14:11For me, it lacked something in energy, just visually,

0:14:11 > 0:14:13there just wasn't that "Err!" that you kind of need.

0:14:13 > 0:14:16Whatever the word "Err" means.

0:14:16 > 0:14:20Impact, the blending on the voices together, you've got bigger

0:14:20 > 0:14:22challenges cos you've got guys and girls working together,

0:14:22 > 0:14:25but the blend wasn't as strong as I've heard you sing before.

0:14:25 > 0:14:27I normally love your technique.

0:14:27 > 0:14:31M.A.D, beautiful arrangement, beautifully sung,

0:14:31 > 0:14:32beautifully blended.

0:14:32 > 0:14:35You bounced and sat back on the beat.

0:14:35 > 0:14:36Beautiful.

0:14:36 > 0:14:39APPLAUSE

0:14:39 > 0:14:41David, who impressed you?

0:14:41 > 0:14:43Well, I have to say that they all

0:14:43 > 0:14:45impressed me for different reasons.

0:14:45 > 0:14:47I want to start with The Sweets.

0:14:47 > 0:14:48I thought they had a real authority.

0:14:48 > 0:14:50They looked to be really confident,

0:14:50 > 0:14:52really comfortable

0:14:52 > 0:14:55and they looked like they were enjoying it.

0:14:55 > 0:14:58When it came to Impact, I thought they had a real accuracy

0:14:58 > 0:15:01and the boys being in there, it is a challenge,

0:15:01 > 0:15:04but I actually think it makes the harmonies fatter

0:15:04 > 0:15:06and richer than just girls, because there's a greater spread.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08And I really like that sound.

0:15:08 > 0:15:11And then when it came to M.A.D, they have attitude.

0:15:11 > 0:15:15They've got swagger and they give the song swing.

0:15:15 > 0:15:18Suddenly, a pop song sounded like an urban song,

0:15:18 > 0:15:21because of the way they sung it, because of their phrasing,

0:15:21 > 0:15:25because of their pronunciation, because of their timing.

0:15:25 > 0:15:28They actually made the song completely their own.

0:15:28 > 0:15:31APPLAUSE

0:15:31 > 0:15:33Sisco, did that performance tick all the boxes for you?

0:15:33 > 0:15:35It did and, like David said,

0:15:35 > 0:15:36for different reasons.

0:15:36 > 0:15:37The Sweets, when I looked at you,

0:15:37 > 0:15:40I was extremely excited, cos you had the look going down,

0:15:40 > 0:15:42you seem very comfortable when you're singing.

0:15:42 > 0:15:45I believe when you're singing. I just thought it was a bit safe.

0:15:45 > 0:15:47I was expecting just a little bit more.

0:15:47 > 0:15:49But maybe you'll bring it for the second song, hopefully.

0:15:49 > 0:15:52With Impact, I hear every single harmony,

0:15:52 > 0:15:55but I'd didn't really feel that there was a blend.

0:15:55 > 0:15:57Like, it wasn't as smooth as I wanted to.

0:15:57 > 0:15:59Because you've got boy and girl vocalists,

0:15:59 > 0:16:02I think you guys can really take it to another level,

0:16:02 > 0:16:04because you can use that to your advantage.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07M.A.D, I love the projection of the vocals.

0:16:07 > 0:16:08You guys went straight in there.

0:16:08 > 0:16:11I was like, "Oh, wow." You're not afraid to sing.

0:16:11 > 0:16:14I love the way you sung it, and I loved everything about it.

0:16:14 > 0:16:15I think you guys are really

0:16:15 > 0:16:17cool-looking, cool-sounding. Well done.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19APPLAUSE

0:16:19 > 0:16:23And John, you met these guys way back at the start of the search.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25Are they coming up to scratch now?

0:16:25 > 0:16:26I feel like a very proud

0:16:26 > 0:16:28big brother at the moment.

0:16:28 > 0:16:30My friend, David Grant, said that

0:16:30 > 0:16:33false humility doesn't suit me, so...

0:16:33 > 0:16:35John Modi, you did a great job!

0:16:35 > 0:16:38LAUGHTER

0:16:38 > 0:16:40I think we've got an awesome show today coming up.

0:16:40 > 0:16:42Agreed, definitely. Thank you very much, judges.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45OK, whilst we check and verify the scores for Round 1,

0:16:45 > 0:16:49let's take a look at some messages from some of our celebrity chums.

0:16:51 > 0:16:56Get involved with Comic Relief 2013 and do something funny for money.

0:16:56 > 0:16:58Together we can make a difference.

0:16:59 > 0:17:02CHEERING

0:17:02 > 0:17:04The scores have been checked and verified.

0:17:04 > 0:17:08The results for Round 1 are in. So it's over to you, my friend Mark.

0:17:08 > 0:17:10Aww, that's very nice of you, mate.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13I can reveal that the judges' combined score for The Sweets,

0:17:13 > 0:17:16out of a possible 120 points, is...

0:17:20 > 0:17:23CHEERING

0:17:25 > 0:17:28The judges' combined score for Impact is...

0:17:33 > 0:17:35CHEERING

0:17:36 > 0:17:40And finally, the judges' combined score for M.A.D is...

0:17:44 > 0:17:47CHEERING

0:17:47 > 0:17:50- Well done, guys. Are you happy with those scores?- SINGERS:- Yes.

0:17:50 > 0:17:53Nice one. Well, there is still one more challenge to go.

0:17:53 > 0:17:57But, before that, let's take a look at the scoreboard after Round 1.

0:17:57 > 0:17:59The Sweets have 75 points.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01Impact have 74 points.

0:18:01 > 0:18:04And M.A.D lead with 97 points.

0:18:04 > 0:18:06But with 120 points available

0:18:06 > 0:18:08to each group in Round 2,

0:18:08 > 0:18:09it could all change!

0:18:09 > 0:18:13CHEERING

0:18:13 > 0:18:15Wow. You all did so well.

0:18:15 > 0:18:18Sweets, Carrie thought you made a lovely sound,

0:18:18 > 0:18:22but perhaps lacking a little bit of, "Err!" Do you agree with that?

0:18:22 > 0:18:24Yeah, I agree with that.

0:18:24 > 0:18:28I think we could have, maybe, tried our hardest and just really...

0:18:28 > 0:18:29But I think we did try.

0:18:29 > 0:18:32- You've got a little more in new the next round, do you think?- Yeah.

0:18:32 > 0:18:36- How about giving them a bit of, "Err" now?- THE SWEETS: Err!

0:18:36 > 0:18:40Audience? Got a little bit of "Err" in you?

0:18:40 > 0:18:41AUDIENCE: Err!

0:18:41 > 0:18:44Yeah, we've got the "Err" in the studio.

0:18:44 > 0:18:46Impact, now, there was little mention that there might be

0:18:46 > 0:18:48a bit of an issue with your blending.

0:18:48 > 0:18:49Do you think that's fair?

0:18:49 > 0:18:53Yeah, I mean it's slightly harder for us, cos we have boys in it,

0:18:53 > 0:18:57but I think just maybe work on it a tiny bit and then we'll get it.

0:18:57 > 0:18:59But David was loving the boys in it,

0:18:59 > 0:19:02loving that it's got rich harmonies and it sounded really full.

0:19:02 > 0:19:05And you are representing the boys on the show today. Yeah.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08So, what do you think about that, lads?

0:19:08 > 0:19:11I think it's great that we're here representing the boys.

0:19:11 > 0:19:14We just really want to show them in our next song that we can get

0:19:14 > 0:19:16that blend with boys and girls.

0:19:16 > 0:19:19OK. Round 2, you're going to show it. Show them how it's done.

0:19:19 > 0:19:21And over to M.A.D...

0:19:21 > 0:19:24Bringing a touch of urban to your song.

0:19:24 > 0:19:26How do you make a song your own?

0:19:26 > 0:19:30I think we just try to blend really well with our harmonies

0:19:30 > 0:19:35and put our own stamp on it, really rock with it.

0:19:35 > 0:19:38- Is that what you do, you've got to rock with it?- Yeah. Rock with it.

0:19:38 > 0:19:39THEY LAUGH

0:19:39 > 0:19:41I like that. Well, as John said,

0:19:41 > 0:19:43it really is going to be a fantastic show.

0:19:43 > 0:19:46I cannot wait to hear all of your survival songs. Good luck.

0:19:46 > 0:19:49Let's give them a great big cheer and hand back to Sam and Mark.

0:19:49 > 0:19:50CHEERING

0:19:50 > 0:19:53- It's going to be a good one.- Yeah. - Thank you very much, Naomi.

0:19:53 > 0:19:55While the groups get ready for Round 2

0:19:55 > 0:19:57let's remind ourselves why we're here and how Comic Relief really

0:19:57 > 0:20:01does make a difference to young lives in the UK and in Africa.

0:20:02 > 0:20:06Comic Relief works hard to support people who are leading

0:20:06 > 0:20:08incredibly difficult lives,

0:20:08 > 0:20:12by funding projects all over Africa, as well as right here in the UK.

0:20:13 > 0:20:17In fact, the charity has funded over 15,000 projects in the UK,

0:20:17 > 0:20:22working 365 days a year to change things for the better.

0:20:24 > 0:20:27The donations that you make will help vulnerable people from all

0:20:27 > 0:20:30walks of life, at home and abroad.

0:20:30 > 0:20:32You can help make a huge difference.

0:20:32 > 0:20:35To find out how you could do something funny for money,

0:20:35 > 0:20:37get a grown-up and visit

0:20:37 > 0:20:38the CBBC website, at...

0:20:43 > 0:20:44..and follow the link to

0:20:44 > 0:20:47Comic Relief. Thank you.

0:20:52 > 0:20:55CHEERING

0:20:55 > 0:20:57You really can make a difference.

0:20:57 > 0:21:00So, go on, get involved and do something funny for money.

0:21:00 > 0:21:02Sam here is going to shave his head before the next show.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04Sorry, what was that?

0:21:04 > 0:21:07- No, he's definitely not going to do that.- Who are you talking to?

0:21:07 > 0:21:10I'm talking to the producer. She wants to talk to you.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12Hello?

0:21:12 > 0:21:14- She says get on with the show. - Get on with the show.

0:21:14 > 0:21:17Round 2 is the last chance for groups to deliver a

0:21:17 > 0:21:18show stopping performance.

0:21:18 > 0:21:21They need to score as many points as they can to secure a top spot

0:21:21 > 0:21:23on the Glee Club # Leaderboard. #

0:21:23 > 0:21:25- Nice harmony.- Getting into it.

0:21:25 > 0:21:28Remember, only the top five will go through to the live finals.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30OK, Mr D, can you please do the honours

0:21:30 > 0:21:31and introduce the final round?

0:21:31 > 0:21:33- # The final round. #- Stop it.

0:21:35 > 0:21:36Round 2, Survival Song.

0:21:36 > 0:21:38The groups will have to give it their all.

0:21:38 > 0:21:41It's their final chance to build those all-important points.

0:21:42 > 0:21:46They were formed after their leader watched Britain's Got Talent,

0:21:46 > 0:21:50- but, hey, we saw them here first. In your face, Simon Cowell.- Yeah!

0:21:50 > 0:21:52Let's take a look at The Sweets' journey to the heats.

0:21:54 > 0:21:59The Sweets are back. Can they taste even more success this time around?

0:21:59 > 0:22:01# Said I love you more than words can say

0:22:01 > 0:22:07# Said I love you babe-ay-ay-ay-ay-by... #

0:22:07 > 0:22:09I love your sound.

0:22:09 > 0:22:13On the other side, I want to say your solos sound like you've

0:22:13 > 0:22:16been doing it for a few weeks and you're just finding your feet.

0:22:16 > 0:22:19I'm going to be completely blunt with you.

0:22:19 > 0:22:20The solos are not necessary,

0:22:20 > 0:22:23you should give the solos to the strongest singers.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26We've limited the amount of solos, really.

0:22:26 > 0:22:28We sound better, like, as a whole group.

0:22:28 > 0:22:30That's what the judges commented on

0:22:30 > 0:22:34before, so we've taken that into consideration.

0:22:34 > 0:22:35Harmonies are a lot stronger.

0:22:35 > 0:22:39And we've worked on our harmonies, and we're singing more as a group,

0:22:39 > 0:22:42so that's got a bigger sound, a stronger sound.

0:22:42 > 0:22:45- How are you feeling today?- Nervous. - Come and see the lovely set.

0:22:45 > 0:22:49Is it bigger? Bigger than last time.

0:22:51 > 0:22:55How do you feel about performing in front of all the studio

0:22:55 > 0:22:57audience as well as the judges?

0:22:57 > 0:22:59It's exciting, I think you get a buzz off of audiences.

0:22:59 > 0:23:01- It doesn't put you off?- No.

0:23:01 > 0:23:04Who do you think is your biggest threat today?

0:23:04 > 0:23:07Both. They're so different, but they're so good.

0:23:07 > 0:23:10- Have you told everyone at school? - Yeah.- What did they say?

0:23:10 > 0:23:13- They were like, "good luck"! - Are they going to watch?- Yeah.

0:23:13 > 0:23:15We're just best friends. Whenever we're together...

0:23:15 > 0:23:17- We're so loud.- ..It's not quiet!

0:23:17 > 0:23:19Yeah, even our mums are like...

0:23:19 > 0:23:22Our mums are glad to have a break!

0:23:24 > 0:23:25APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:23:25 > 0:23:29They're back, but can they go one step further

0:23:29 > 0:23:30and make it to the live finals?

0:23:30 > 0:23:35Singing Payphone by Maroon 5, it's The Sweets!

0:23:35 > 0:23:37APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:23:39 > 0:23:44# I'm at a payphone trying to call home

0:23:44 > 0:23:47# All of my change I've spent on you

0:23:47 > 0:23:52# Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong

0:23:52 > 0:23:56# Where are the plans we made for two?

0:23:56 > 0:23:59# Yeah, I, I know it's hard to remember

0:23:59 > 0:24:03# The people we used to be It's even harder to picture

0:24:03 > 0:24:06# That you're not here next to me

0:24:06 > 0:24:10# You say it's too late to make it But is it too late to try?

0:24:10 > 0:24:12# And in our time that you wasted

0:24:12 > 0:24:15# All of our bridges burned down

0:24:15 > 0:24:19# I've wasted my nights You turned out the lights

0:24:19 > 0:24:22# Now I'm paralysed Still stuck in that time

0:24:22 > 0:24:27# When we called it love But even the sun

0:24:27 > 0:24:29# Sets in paradise

0:24:29 > 0:24:34# I'm at a payphone trying to call home

0:24:34 > 0:24:37# All of my change I've spent on you

0:24:37 > 0:24:42# Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong

0:24:42 > 0:24:46# Where are the plans we made for two?

0:24:46 > 0:24:50# If happy ever after did exist

0:24:50 > 0:24:54# I would still be holding you like this

0:24:54 > 0:24:59# All our fairytales are full of this

0:24:59 > 0:25:03# One more stupid love song I'll be sick

0:25:03 > 0:25:06# Now I'm at a payphone. #

0:25:06 > 0:25:09APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:25:14 > 0:25:15- Nice work guys.- Well done.

0:25:15 > 0:25:18David, do you reckon The Sweets should be proud of that performance?

0:25:18 > 0:25:19Yeah, I think they should.

0:25:19 > 0:25:22I do remember us saying that you were using too many soloists,

0:25:22 > 0:25:26and you've fixed that, and your ensemble sound is still good.

0:25:26 > 0:25:30My only negative, if there is one, is that in parts you seemed to look

0:25:30 > 0:25:32as if you were marking it, and I really wanted to see

0:25:32 > 0:25:35just a bit more energy and oomph in the performance.

0:25:35 > 0:25:37OK, thank you, David.

0:25:37 > 0:25:38APPLAUSE

0:25:40 > 0:25:43Sisco, do you think the choreography worked with that song?

0:25:43 > 0:25:46I think it did. I keep on repeating myself, I guess.

0:25:46 > 0:25:48Sometimes groups do too much choreography

0:25:48 > 0:25:49and it affects the vocals,

0:25:49 > 0:25:53but I think you guys were smart about your choreographic choices.

0:25:53 > 0:25:55I think you prioritised the vocals, which was great.

0:25:55 > 0:25:58I'm going to agree with David, I just wanted a bit more.

0:25:58 > 0:26:03I think your maximum would be my 60%, you know what I mean?

0:26:03 > 0:26:05You need to go bit more, just so we can really, really,

0:26:05 > 0:26:07really feel what you're saying.

0:26:07 > 0:26:10Because it looks nice, but we need to feel it.

0:26:10 > 0:26:13APPLAUSE

0:26:13 > 0:26:17- John, vocally, were they good enough? - You girls are like a girl band.

0:26:17 > 0:26:20You sound lovely, and I think what these guys are saying is true.

0:26:20 > 0:26:23You need to start believing in yourselves even more,

0:26:23 > 0:26:25and then you're going to get that 100% maximum performance.

0:26:25 > 0:26:27APPLAUSE

0:26:27 > 0:26:31Finally, Carrie, do you see The Sweets as a finalist?

0:26:31 > 0:26:34Absolutely, I really enjoyed that performance.

0:28:04 > 0:28:07Let's take a look at Impact's journey to the heats.

0:28:07 > 0:28:12# Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood... #

0:28:12 > 0:28:16Impact made a pretty big impression on the judges in making it

0:28:16 > 0:28:20- through to today's show.- I'm really blown away by your solos. Amazing.

0:28:20 > 0:28:24Ensemble wise, it's pitchy.

0:28:24 > 0:28:27So, what have they done to improve on their performance as a group,

0:28:27 > 0:28:30and have Carrie's words of advice stuck with them

0:28:30 > 0:28:32as they get ready to take the stage once again?

0:28:32 > 0:28:34What did she say to you last time?

0:28:34 > 0:28:38- Can you remember?- She said "wow", I remember her saying wow.

0:28:38 > 0:28:41Is that all you remember? You blocked the rest out.

0:28:41 > 0:28:44Oh, yeah, no, she did. She said work on your harmonies.

0:28:44 > 0:28:46Which we've really tried to do this time.

0:28:46 > 0:28:49They said dissect it, note by note, word by word, go through it,

0:28:49 > 0:28:52and hopefully they'll see that we've really done that this time.

0:28:52 > 0:28:56We're definitely looking forward to performing in the studio.

0:28:56 > 0:28:59We're really keen to show the judges how we've progressed as well.

0:28:59 > 0:29:02We want to show them that we've taken the comments on board

0:29:02 > 0:29:04and grown as a group, improved, yeah.

0:29:04 > 0:29:06It's really good fun being here.

0:29:06 > 0:29:08Our strength is to act it,

0:29:08 > 0:29:11- I think we just need to put a little bit more acting into it.- Emotion.

0:29:11 > 0:29:14- Yeah, emotion.- Yep, play to your strengths. Always good.- Exactly.

0:29:14 > 0:29:16We are so excited.

0:29:16 > 0:29:19I think the show itself is so great because it does

0:29:19 > 0:29:22so much work for Comic Relief and everything, which is...

0:29:22 > 0:29:23It's nice to be a part of it.

0:29:23 > 0:29:25Yeah, it's really nice to be a part of it,

0:29:25 > 0:29:30- And we're really excited to kind of get going and make an- impact.

0:29:30 > 0:29:31- Yes!- Boom-tsp!

0:30:16 > 0:30:19# Stand by me

0:30:19 > 0:30:21# But darling, darling

0:30:21 > 0:30:23# Stand by me

0:30:23 > 0:30:27# Oh, stand by me

0:30:30 > 0:30:31# Stand by me

0:30:31 > 0:30:33# Stand by me

0:30:33 > 0:30:36# Stand by me

0:30:36 > 0:30:41# If the sky that we look upon

0:30:41 > 0:30:44# Should crumble and fall

0:30:44 > 0:30:47# And the mountains

0:30:47 > 0:30:50# Should crumble into the sea

0:31:03 > 0:31:05# As you stand

0:31:05 > 0:31:13# Stand by me. #

0:31:13 > 0:31:16CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:31:19 > 0:31:22Well done, guys. Fantastic. OK. Let's see what the judges thought. Sisco.

0:31:22 > 0:31:25That's one of my favourite songs. I love that song.

0:31:25 > 0:31:29And I think the layering that you guys chose to do was amazing.

0:31:29 > 0:31:34It was really complex, I thought, but so easy to listen to and digest.

0:31:34 > 0:31:35My only critique...

0:31:35 > 0:31:38I would have liked to have heard the first soloist

0:31:38 > 0:31:41cos I think your voice really suited the surroundings

0:31:41 > 0:31:43that you were accompanied with vocally.

0:31:43 > 0:31:46But honestly, guys, that was so much better. Well done.

0:31:46 > 0:31:49APPLAUSE

0:31:49 > 0:31:53Carrie, did they show enough technical ability in their singing?

0:31:53 > 0:31:55They certainly showed technical ability

0:31:55 > 0:31:58in their choice of arrangement. That was complex,

0:31:58 > 0:32:00blended brilliantly. I loved it.

0:32:00 > 0:32:03I feel like I've watched Barbershop, but with a backing track.

0:32:03 > 0:32:05Fantastic. Really good.

0:32:06 > 0:32:09- David, did it all come together for you?- Yeah, it all came together.

0:32:09 > 0:32:12This kind of stuff is hard to do. This kind of doo-wop

0:32:12 > 0:32:15where everybody has their harmonies and then they switch harmonies

0:32:15 > 0:32:18and move off onto other things rhythmically. They did it perfectly.

0:32:18 > 0:32:20You didn't leave anything in the rehearsal room.

0:32:20 > 0:32:23You brought it all to the stage and did it really well.

0:32:26 > 0:32:29- John, what did you like about that performance?- So much.

0:32:29 > 0:32:31They've practically said it all anyway.

0:32:31 > 0:32:33But the reality is the arrangement was fantastic.

0:32:33 > 0:32:37- The performance was great. Your soloing... What's your name?- Will.

0:32:37 > 0:32:42Will. Fantastic voice. You've got a voice like a saxophone.

0:32:42 > 0:32:46It's so smooth and pure. And your name? Were you doing the base part?

0:32:46 > 0:32:49- Yeah.- Ah, brilliant. What an awesome sound.

0:32:49 > 0:32:53I could listen to that all day. Fantastic, guys. Thanks very much.

0:32:53 > 0:32:55Nice one.

0:32:55 > 0:32:58- That's not bad, is it? That's all right.- Give it up for Impact!

0:32:58 > 0:33:01CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:33:01 > 0:33:05Walk over to join me, Impact.

0:33:05 > 0:33:09So, you hit the blending nail on the head this time.

0:33:09 > 0:33:11That was a bit of an improvement from round one.

0:33:11 > 0:33:14- You've got to be happy with those comments?- So happy. We were...

0:33:14 > 0:33:17We were really hoping to show the judges that we can blend

0:33:17 > 0:33:20and we can do these things they're asking for. We're so glad we did.

0:33:20 > 0:33:22Yay! David mentioned you didn't leave anything

0:33:22 > 0:33:24in the rehearsal room. You definitely didn't?

0:33:24 > 0:33:27No. We've rehearsed, rehearsed, until it was absolutely perfect.

0:33:27 > 0:33:29We didn't want to let anyone down, including you.

0:33:29 > 0:33:32I'm pleased to hear that because I'm always leaving

0:33:32 > 0:33:36my leg warmers behind. And also they mentioned how the boys

0:33:36 > 0:33:39brought something to the performance. Yay! Go the boys!

0:33:39 > 0:33:42- Are you happy with that?- Yeah, so happy. Representing the boys

0:33:42 > 0:33:46and the saxophones... We were very pleased. Very pleased.

0:33:46 > 0:33:50- Has your voice ever been compared to a saxophone before?- That is a first.

0:33:50 > 0:33:53That is a first. But I'm going to take it. I'm happy with that.

0:33:53 > 0:33:56Smooth voice. We love it. I thought you did fantastically well.

0:33:56 > 0:33:58Let's hear it for Impact.

0:33:58 > 0:34:00CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:34:00 > 0:34:05- Yeah, boys!- Representing boys. Lads! Wa-hey!- All right. Calm down.- Sorry.

0:34:05 > 0:34:08Thank you very much, Naomi. Now, our last act is M.A.D.

0:34:08 > 0:34:12Well, they are not mad. Well, they are but... You know what I mean.

0:34:12 > 0:34:15- Stop that.- Sorry.- It actually stands for Make A Difference, OK?

0:34:15 > 0:34:18- Let's meet M.A.D.- Mad.

0:34:21 > 0:34:24M.A.D's confidence was high after making it through

0:34:24 > 0:34:26to the judges' auditions. But there was a problem.

0:34:26 > 0:34:29Their secret singing weapon had a sore throat.

0:34:29 > 0:34:34- Are you feeling all right?- I'm just going to push it really hard.

0:34:34 > 0:34:37# Down in every kind of way... #

0:34:37 > 0:34:41But there was no stopping the music and the group gave it their all.

0:34:41 > 0:34:43# Take the shackles off my feet

0:34:43 > 0:34:45# So I can dance

0:34:45 > 0:34:46# So I can dance

0:34:46 > 0:34:47# I just want to praise you

0:34:47 > 0:34:48# I just wanna

0:34:48 > 0:34:49# I just want to praise you

0:34:49 > 0:34:52# I just want to praise you. #

0:34:52 > 0:34:55- What's your name, young lady? - Aisha.

0:34:55 > 0:35:00Aisha, you're like... You just reminded me of Mary J Blige, Aisha.

0:35:00 > 0:35:05That is probably one of the hardest songs to cover and cover well.

0:35:05 > 0:35:09- You guys absolutely nailed it. - Thank you.

0:35:09 > 0:35:13# I'm going to praise you. #

0:35:13 > 0:35:14Yeah!

0:35:14 > 0:35:17Then it was time for rehearsal.

0:35:17 > 0:35:19- You're going to be rehearsing in a minute.- Yeah.

0:35:19 > 0:35:22- Are you looking forward to getting up on the stage?- Yeah.

0:35:22 > 0:35:24We're nervous though. Very nervous.

0:35:27 > 0:35:31- I'd definitely say we're really strong group.- We are like a family.

0:35:31 > 0:35:32A lot of us have known each other

0:35:32 > 0:35:35since the very beginning of secondary school.

0:35:35 > 0:35:37When we get on stage, we instantly...

0:35:37 > 0:35:40Something comes over us and we just get so excited.

0:35:40 > 0:35:42The second we see an audience, everything changes.

0:35:42 > 0:35:45It just switches. Our attitude... From silly, we're just serious.

0:35:45 > 0:35:49- It's like, this is what we have to do now.- And now Glasgow awaits.

0:35:52 > 0:35:54They're our last act to perform for the judges.

0:35:54 > 0:35:57Let's hope they can add some valuable points to their score.

0:35:57 > 0:35:59Singing and dancing for a place in the live finals,

0:35:59 > 0:36:03with I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift, it's M.A.D.

0:36:03 > 0:36:05APPLAUSE

0:36:09 > 0:36:10# Once upon a time

0:36:10 > 0:36:12# A few mistakes ago

0:36:12 > 0:36:13# I was in your sights

0:36:13 > 0:36:15# You got me alone

0:36:15 > 0:36:16# You found me

0:36:16 > 0:36:18# You found me

0:36:18 > 0:36:19# You found me

0:36:19 > 0:36:21# E-e-e-e

0:36:21 > 0:36:22# I guess you didn't care

0:36:22 > 0:36:24# And I guess I liked that

0:36:24 > 0:36:25# But when I fell hard

0:36:25 > 0:36:27# You took a step back

0:36:27 > 0:36:29# Without me

0:36:29 > 0:36:30# Without me

0:36:30 > 0:36:32# Without me

0:36:32 > 0:36:34# E-e-e-e

0:36:34 > 0:36:37# And he's long gone

0:36:37 > 0:36:41# When he's next to me

0:36:41 > 0:36:43# And I realise

0:36:43 > 0:36:46# The blame is on me

0:36:46 > 0:36:48# Cos I knew you were trouble

0:36:48 > 0:36:51# When you walked in

0:36:51 > 0:36:53# Shame on me now

0:36:53 > 0:36:56# Flew me to places I'd never been

0:36:56 > 0:36:58# Till you put me down

0:36:58 > 0:37:01# Oh, I knew you were trouble

0:37:01 > 0:37:03# When you walked in

0:37:03 > 0:37:05# Shame on me now

0:37:05 > 0:37:09# Flew me to places I'd never been

0:37:09 > 0:37:12# Now I'm lying on The cold hard ground

0:37:12 > 0:37:13# Oh

0:37:13 > 0:37:14# Oh

0:37:14 > 0:37:18# Trouble, trouble, trouble

0:37:18 > 0:37:19# Oh

0:37:19 > 0:37:21# Oh

0:37:21 > 0:37:23# Trouble. #

0:37:23 > 0:37:27Two. Three. Four.

0:37:27 > 0:37:28# Dum-dum dum-dum

0:37:28 > 0:37:29# Yeah

0:37:29 > 0:37:31# Dum-dum dum-dum

0:37:31 > 0:37:32# Trouble. #

0:37:32 > 0:37:34CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:37:38 > 0:37:43Well done, girls. Loved that at the end. Dum-dum-dum. Loved that.

0:37:43 > 0:37:45Well done, guys. OK, John.

0:37:45 > 0:37:48These guys impressed you in the first audition with their vocals.

0:37:48 > 0:37:51- Are you still impressed? - Do you know what I liked?

0:37:51 > 0:37:53I liked you girls, obviously, from the beginning.

0:37:53 > 0:37:58Your sound is very, very unique. Your vocal blend fantastic.

0:37:58 > 0:38:01I think today you didn't get the soloists right.

0:38:01 > 0:38:04I think there's some weaknesses that were a bit exposed

0:38:04 > 0:38:08and I think that's the only area that might have let you down today.

0:38:08 > 0:38:10OK. Carrie, what did you make of that performance?

0:38:10 > 0:38:12I'm slightly confused, I have to say,

0:38:12 > 0:38:15because in our audition show, you did Shackles.

0:38:15 > 0:38:18I was like, "OK, I get this group. I get what they're about."

0:38:18 > 0:38:22You've then done the first number today, a One Direction song.

0:38:22 > 0:38:25You've made it R&B. Now we've got Taylor Swift. That's great.

0:38:25 > 0:38:27Make it the same kind of sound.

0:38:27 > 0:38:30Suddenly we get a totally different sound. Blending not as good.

0:38:30 > 0:38:32Soloists not as strong.

0:38:32 > 0:38:35I feel a little bit like, "Oh, come on, guys."

0:38:35 > 0:38:38You're so good. You're so good.

0:38:38 > 0:38:40In the audition rounds, I'm like, "Oh, my goodness.

0:38:40 > 0:38:42"They're surely going to be in the final."

0:38:42 > 0:38:46Now I'm sitting here thinking, "Oh. Will they?"

0:38:46 > 0:38:49Right. Well, after Carrie's said that, David, do you think

0:38:49 > 0:38:52- they have done enough to make the final?- What I do know is this.

0:38:52 > 0:38:55They have the potential to be awesome.

0:38:55 > 0:38:58There were moments in that when they were singing together

0:38:58 > 0:39:03and their blend is fatter than fat and it's really identifiable.

0:39:03 > 0:39:07I felt like they didn't play fully to their strengths.

0:39:07 > 0:39:11This is a group that actually... They have something extra.

0:39:11 > 0:39:13They have something special.

0:39:13 > 0:39:16But I don't necessarily think they brought everything

0:39:16 > 0:39:17they had to the party this time.

0:39:17 > 0:39:19OK. Sisco...

0:39:20 > 0:39:23- Would it be mad... See what I did there, girls?- Excellent.

0:39:23 > 0:39:26..if these girls didn't get through to the final?

0:39:26 > 0:39:28I think the judges are correct in what they said.

0:39:28 > 0:39:30I think they're being a little harsh.

0:39:30 > 0:39:32I think you guys took a risk which I'm down for.

0:39:32 > 0:39:35The most important thing is that you work with your strengths

0:39:35 > 0:39:37and that starts with the soloists.

0:39:37 > 0:39:39Always stick to your style and add a spin to it.

0:39:39 > 0:39:41Don't go completely out of your comfort zone

0:39:41 > 0:39:45because then the result might not be as good as it can be.

0:39:45 > 0:39:48The routine was a little adventurous.

0:39:48 > 0:39:50It was a little too dynamic. But, you know what, guys?

0:39:50 > 0:39:53I think they've been a little harsh on you. It was pretty good.
