0:06:16 > 0:06:19Is everyone settled down and ready to listen?

0:06:19 > 0:06:22- Ooh, yes.- Yay!- Baa!

0:06:22 > 0:06:26- And all of you, sitting down and ready to listen?- Ready, Dan!

0:06:26 > 0:06:30This story is called The Answer.

0:06:30 > 0:06:34George Tarry wrote it and the pictures are by Serena Curmi.

0:06:34 > 0:06:37All day and all night, all night and all day,

0:06:37 > 0:06:41The penguins stood about, thinking and dreaming,

0:06:41 > 0:06:43but never really knowing.

0:06:43 > 0:06:47Pelle suddenly shouted, "Over the ice, over the sea,

0:06:47 > 0:06:51"over the frozen snow. The answer is over there,

0:06:51 > 0:06:53"so that's where I must go."

0:06:53 > 0:06:57The penguins watched in surprise as Pelle tried and tried to set off.

0:06:57 > 0:07:00His shouting turned to cross muttering

0:07:00 > 0:07:04but if they listened carefully, they could hear,

0:07:04 > 0:07:07"Over the ice, over the sea, over the frozen snow,

0:07:07 > 0:07:12"the answer is over there, so that's where I must go."

0:07:12 > 0:07:17The penguins were amazed when, after many attempts and many disasters,

0:07:17 > 0:07:20Pelle built a flying machine!

0:07:20 > 0:07:23They were shocked when it actually flew

0:07:23 > 0:07:25but not at all surprised to hear,

0:07:25 > 0:07:28as Pelle disappeared into the clouds,

0:07:28 > 0:07:31"Over the ice, over the sea, over the frozen snow,

0:07:31 > 0:07:35"the answer is over there, so that's where I must go."

0:07:35 > 0:07:39The answer to what, Dan? What's the question?

0:07:39 > 0:07:42We don't know what the question is, do we? Let's see.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45The penguins were left far behind,

0:07:45 > 0:07:49as Pelle flew day and night, night and day

0:07:49 > 0:07:53and as the flying machine floated down towards a blue mountain peak,

0:07:53 > 0:07:55Pelle happily sang,

0:07:55 > 0:07:59"over the ice, over the sea, over the frozen snow,

0:07:59 > 0:08:03"the answer is over there, so that's where I must go."

0:08:03 > 0:08:08The flying machine landed with a bump and Pelle hopped out.

0:08:08 > 0:08:13Pelle waddled round and round the mountain until he met a polar bear.

0:08:13 > 0:08:15"Yes," said the polar bear.

0:08:15 > 0:08:17But Pelle just shouted and shouted,

0:08:17 > 0:08:21"Over the ice, over the sea, over the frozen snow,

0:08:21 > 0:08:24"the answer is over there, so that's where I must go."

0:08:24 > 0:08:28The polar bear growled, "I know, I know.

0:08:28 > 0:08:32"Ice, sea, snow. Struggling, flying, searching.

0:08:32 > 0:08:37"I know and the answer is "Yes"."

0:08:37 > 0:08:39"Oh," said Pelle. "Yes"!"

0:08:39 > 0:08:44"You know I've travelled over ice, over sea, over the frozen snow."

0:08:44 > 0:08:47"The answer's "Yes"," said the polar bear.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49And Pelle said, "I know."

0:08:49 > 0:08:55The penguins were absolutely astonished when Pelle returned,

0:08:55 > 0:08:59shouting, "The answer is "Yes"! The answer is "Yes"!"

0:08:59 > 0:09:02And they all joined in excitedly shouting,

0:09:02 > 0:09:06that if you kept on trying and trying, the answer was...

0:09:06 > 0:09:08"Yes"!

0:09:08 > 0:09:09The end.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12Well! Wasn't that a good story?

0:09:12 > 0:09:13Yes!

0:09:13 > 0:09:17And now it's your turn. Which bit did you like best?

0:09:17 > 0:09:20Come on, it's time to show me the story.

0:09:20 > 0:09:23Look at us! We're penguins!

0:09:23 > 0:09:27I'm walking like a penguin. Waddle-waddle! Waddle-waddle!

0:09:27 > 0:09:31- It's all icy here! - Brrr, that's cold!

0:09:31 > 0:09:33Look, there's Pelle the Penguin.

0:09:33 > 0:09:35I'm flying high in the sky.

0:09:35 > 0:09:39- Look at us, sliding down the ice! - Wheee!

0:09:39 > 0:09:43- He's flying back home! - Bye-bye, Pelle.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45Look at all those penguins!

0:09:45 > 0:09:48- I'm playing a penguin violin. - Wheeee!

0:09:48 > 0:09:52- I'm playing my penguin guitar. - And I've got an ice cream!

0:09:52 > 0:09:55ALL: Yeah!

0:09:55 > 0:09:57Thank you, that was really good!

0:09:57 > 0:10:00You look like you're full of questions, Precious.

0:10:00 > 0:10:05In the story, Dan, why do the penguins say "yes" to everything?

0:10:05 > 0:10:08Because "yes" means that if you try hard enough,

0:10:08 > 0:10:13- you can do almost anything! - Better than saying, "No, I can't!"

0:10:13 > 0:10:15Yes, I can do a somersault!

0:10:15 > 0:10:17Baa!

0:10:17 > 0:10:18Yes you can, Precious!
