0:06:49 > 0:06:53Stanley the elephant gave a big sigh.

0:06:53 > 0:06:55He felt a bit glum and he knew why.

0:06:55 > 0:06:59He could pick the best fruit from the tallest of trees

0:06:59 > 0:07:02and flap his big ears, to cool friends with the breeze.

0:07:02 > 0:07:06His trunk could suck water and spray like a pump

0:07:06 > 0:07:09but Stanley the elephant wanted to jump.

0:07:09 > 0:07:13Oh, wa-ha, jumping's easy, I'm really good at jumping.

0:07:15 > 0:07:19Stanley watched frogs as they hopped all around,

0:07:19 > 0:07:22he watched chimpanzees somersault to the ground.

0:07:22 > 0:07:25He watched lemurs leaping, as though they had wings,

0:07:25 > 0:07:28and even the panthers pounced up with a spring.

0:07:28 > 0:07:32So down Stanley sat, with a very large thump, lifted his trunk

0:07:32 > 0:07:35and cried, "Why can't I jump?"

0:07:35 > 0:07:39A monkey saw Stanley and, hearing his plea, decided to help

0:07:39 > 0:07:42and jumped down from the tree.

0:07:42 > 0:07:46He said, "Don't use four legs, try starting with two.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49"Imagine yourself as a big kangaroo."

0:07:49 > 0:07:52Stanley felt sure that he'd soon get the knack.

0:07:52 > 0:07:55He balanced, then wobbled, then fell on his back.

0:07:55 > 0:07:59Oh, dear, we hope he didn't hurt himself.

0:07:59 > 0:08:02Don't worry, Sweetie, he's fine.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05A small yellow bird fluttered down from the tree.

0:08:05 > 0:08:09She said, "Stanley, I'll help you, just listen to me.

0:08:09 > 0:08:12"Stand up on two legs, if you want to succeed.

0:08:12 > 0:08:15"Move your weight forward and follow my lead."

0:08:15 > 0:08:18Stanley balanced again and gave a loud grunt

0:08:18 > 0:08:22as he crashed to the ground and lay flat on his front.

0:08:22 > 0:08:25A spider was watching from high in the tree.

0:08:25 > 0:08:29He said, "I wonder if Stanley would listen to me?"

0:08:29 > 0:08:31He lowered down quickly to offer his help

0:08:31 > 0:08:34but, seeing the spider, Stan gave a loud yelp.

0:08:34 > 0:08:38His heart skipped a beat and he jumped up in fright,

0:08:38 > 0:08:41a magnificent jump, a wonderful sight.

0:08:41 > 0:08:43"I did it," shrieked Stanley.

0:08:43 > 0:08:50"I jumped in the air, I started from here and I landed just there."

0:08:50 > 0:08:53And the animals cheered with a trumpety-trump

0:09:53 > 0:09:56It's good Stanley was able to jump, wasn't it?

0:09:56 > 0:09:58Even if it was by accident.

0:09:58 > 0:10:03Like me being able to play in the marching band, that was an accident.

0:10:03 > 0:10:06If you hadn't bounced on your trampoline
