0:00:05 > 0:00:08Welcome to the world of epic.
0:00:08 > 0:00:13Sit back, strap yourself in and get ready to become epic at everything!
0:00:16 > 0:00:19Welcome to your quick blast of epicness.
0:00:19 > 0:00:22So what are we waiting for? Let's do this!
0:00:26 > 0:00:32First up, what do you get if you mix snow and planks of wood? This!
0:00:34 > 0:00:38Freestyle skiing - the most epic winter sport going.
0:00:38 > 0:00:41But how do you become a freestyle skier, I hear you ask.
0:00:41 > 0:00:44To show you how, we've got this dude.
0:00:44 > 0:00:46Hello. I'm James Woods, or Woodsy,
0:00:46 > 0:00:50and I'm going to show you how to freestyle ski like a pro.
0:00:50 > 0:00:54Woodsy has opted for both long and short hair. I like it.
0:00:54 > 0:00:57The first thing you've got to do is learn how to ski.
0:00:59 > 0:01:00There, I've learnt it.
0:01:00 > 0:01:03Obviously, learning to ski takes a little bit longer.
0:01:03 > 0:01:06Next, you've got to get used to being in the air.
0:01:06 > 0:01:08And that's a small jump and we call it a pop.
0:01:11 > 0:01:14The more you practise, the easier and smoother your tricks will look.
0:01:17 > 0:01:20Next is the rails, and again we're going to start basic
0:01:20 > 0:01:21and work our way up.
0:01:21 > 0:01:25The key here is to keep nice equal weight on both skis.
0:01:25 > 0:01:28If you can't get yourself to a slope every day, skateboarding
0:01:28 > 0:01:30and rollerblading really helps.
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Once you've done that and mastered your fear, in a couple of years
0:01:33 > 0:01:37you'll be a freeskier and you'll be able to do tricks like this.
0:01:42 > 0:01:45And that is how to freestyle ski like a pro.
0:01:46 > 0:01:48OK, and if that's got you hungry for more,
0:01:48 > 0:01:50then get those leg muscles at the ready
0:01:50 > 0:01:54because we've got a cheerleader to show you a supercool stunt.
0:01:56 > 0:01:59Hi, I'm Luke. I'm going to show you a cheerleading jump - the toe touch.
0:01:59 > 0:02:03Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four.
0:02:03 > 0:02:05Five, six, seven, eight.
0:02:05 > 0:02:09First, bend your knees and clasp your arms in front of you like this.
0:02:09 > 0:02:12- Got it.- Next you're going to push your arms up.
0:02:12 > 0:02:14- Yup.- And straighten your knees.- OK.
0:02:14 > 0:02:17Finally you're going to slice your arms down into a T,
0:02:17 > 0:02:21explode through your legs, jumping, landing on the balls of your feet.
0:02:21 > 0:02:24So that's arms out, legs up, jump and land. Easy.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27Put those steps together and it should look something like this.
0:02:27 > 0:02:32Five, six, seven, eight, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
0:02:32 > 0:02:35And that's how to do a cheerleading toe touch.
0:02:36 > 0:02:40Cheers to you, Lukey, my mate. You wonderful cheerleader.
0:02:40 > 0:02:42Now for something totally different.
0:02:42 > 0:02:46If you have a pen and paper then you can do this next epic little tip.
0:02:53 > 0:02:56I'm Ed Petrie and I'm going to show you how to draw your own comic strip.
0:02:56 > 0:02:58Why? Because I can.
0:02:58 > 0:03:00So the first thing you need to do
0:03:00 > 0:03:02if you're going to draw your own comic strip is have an idea
0:03:02 > 0:03:04about what the comic strip is going to be about.
0:03:04 > 0:03:07Nobody wants to read a comic about a man going to the shops.
0:03:07 > 0:03:11It'd be rubbish. So I've come up with an idea for a guy called Gary Rotter.
0:03:11 > 0:03:13He's the world's worst wizard.
0:03:13 > 0:03:16Now I need a story, so I was thinking he's rubbish wizard
0:03:16 > 0:03:18and he hasn't done his homework so he gets turned into a frog.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20But finds out he quite likes being a frog
0:03:20 > 0:03:22because it means he can catch flies with his tongue.
0:03:22 > 0:03:24The next thing to do is block it out.
0:03:24 > 0:03:26Don't worry too much about the drawing or anything.
0:03:26 > 0:03:28You just want to get the story down.
0:03:28 > 0:03:30- I've worked out I need five panels for this.- Panels?
0:03:30 > 0:03:32That's the squares that you draw the cartoon in.
0:03:32 > 0:03:34It looks a bit weird when I draw it out on the page.
0:03:34 > 0:03:38It's not symmetrical. So I'm going to do a title panel as well and have six
0:03:38 > 0:03:39and it will look nice and neat.
0:03:39 > 0:03:41So the next thing you're going to do is try
0:03:41 > 0:03:44and do a pretty good drawing in pencil.
0:03:45 > 0:03:47This may take you some time.
0:03:50 > 0:03:54That probably seemed really quick to you. It took hours.
0:03:54 > 0:03:58Anyway, there you go. My finished pencil drawing.
0:03:58 > 0:04:01- I'm happy with my drawing.- He's happy.- Now the scary bit. The ink.
0:04:01 > 0:04:04Now you can use any pen you like to do this, whatever suits you.
0:04:04 > 0:04:09I've found over the years that I quite like using a nib pen.
0:04:09 > 0:04:11Again, this may take some time.
0:04:15 > 0:04:19Whoa, what are you doing, Ed? Don't rub it out, we haven't seen it yet.
0:04:19 > 0:04:21- Now I've rubbed all the pencil off. - Ah.
0:04:21 > 0:04:24Finally, to colour it in, I like to use watercolours.
0:04:24 > 0:04:26I can be nice and messy with them.
0:04:26 > 0:04:28Again, this may take you some time
0:04:28 > 0:04:32so whilst Ed does that I'll remind you how to make your own comic.
0:04:32 > 0:04:37Get an idea. Draw it in the panels in pencil. Go over it in pen.
0:04:37 > 0:04:39Add a splash of colour and voila.
0:04:39 > 0:04:41And that is how you design your own comic strip.
0:04:41 > 0:04:46So there you have it - your quick blast of epicness.
0:04:46 > 0:04:50Now go forth and be epic at everything!
