1:38:15 > 1:38:17So sit back, strap yourself in
1:38:17 > 1:38:22and get ready to become epic at everything!
1:38:22 > 1:38:25Welcome to your quick blast of epicness.
1:38:25 > 1:38:27First up, if you're going to throw a party,
1:38:27 > 1:38:29then this girl can help you out.
1:38:29 > 1:38:31Hey, I'm B. Traits, music producer,
1:38:31 > 1:38:35DJ and radio presenter here at the world-famous BBC Radio 1
1:38:35 > 1:38:38and today I'm going to be telling you guys a little bit
1:38:38 > 1:38:40about how to DJ the perfect party.
1:38:40 > 1:38:42Whoo-hoo, let's party!
1:38:42 > 1:38:45You may think it's all about picking your favourite tunes
1:38:45 > 1:38:46but there's more to it than that.
1:38:46 > 1:38:49The first thing you want to do is pick an intro track.
1:38:49 > 1:38:52It's got to be something to grab your audience's attention.
1:38:52 > 1:38:54This is the one I've picked. DANCE MUSIC PLAYS
1:38:54 > 1:38:57I was going to go for Tom Jones. This is probably cooler.
1:38:57 > 1:39:00The most important thing for deejaying a party is to really
1:39:00 > 1:39:02enjoy the music that you're playing.
1:39:02 > 1:39:04OK, B. Traits, let's see you in action.
1:39:04 > 1:39:07DANCE MUSIC CONTINUES
1:39:07 > 1:39:09Hmm, rockin'.
1:39:09 > 1:39:12So your finishing track is almost as important as your intro track.
1:39:12 > 1:39:16For example, I like to end my DJ set on something like this.
1:39:16 > 1:39:18DANCE MUSIC PLAYS
1:39:18 > 1:39:20Everybody goes crazy to it, everybody sings along.
1:39:20 > 1:39:23It's a perfect ending track.
1:39:23 > 1:39:27And that's how you DJ the perfect party.
1:39:27 > 1:39:31Nice one, B. Traits. See you later.
1:39:31 > 1:39:34Ever wanted to wow your mates with a cool football trick?
1:39:34 > 1:39:38John Farnworth is here to show you how.
1:39:38 > 1:39:40I'm going to show you a football freestyling trick
1:39:40 > 1:39:43called the next door.
1:39:43 > 1:39:46OK, John, show us the skills.
1:39:46 > 1:39:49Step one, throw the ball above the head, straight in the air.
1:39:49 > 1:39:52But not too high. Around 30 centimetres.
1:39:52 > 1:39:53Easiest thing I've done all day.
1:39:53 > 1:39:56Step two, position your body as if to head the ball
1:39:56 > 1:39:59but before it hits your head, duck down and cushion it
1:39:59 > 1:40:01on the back of your neck.
1:40:01 > 1:40:04Oh, you've got to be kidding! Help me out, here, John!
1:40:04 > 1:40:07A good tip to remember is to start in a standing position
1:40:07 > 1:40:12and then bend over so your upper body is parallel to the floor like this.
1:40:12 > 1:40:15It's also worth holding the ball in this position
1:40:15 > 1:40:17so you can get used to the balance and the feel.
1:40:17 > 1:40:20Maybe practise this bit in private.
1:40:20 > 1:40:23Once you've mastered the technique, it's time to give this trick a go.
1:40:23 > 1:40:25So start with the feet,
1:40:25 > 1:40:28flick it up nice and straight,
1:40:28 > 1:40:30cushion on the neck,
1:40:30 > 1:40:32keep your back straight, your head up,
1:40:32 > 1:40:36and your arms can be back or stretched out to the side.
1:40:36 > 1:40:38So, to do an epic next door,
1:40:38 > 1:40:41start by throwing the ball straight up.
1:40:41 > 1:40:43Go to head the ball but, at the last minute,
1:40:43 > 1:40:45bend over to catch it on your neck.
1:40:45 > 1:40:48Keep your shoulders back to balance the ball.
1:40:48 > 1:40:49Once you get confident,
1:40:49 > 1:40:52you can even start to stick in a few new, cool moves.
1:40:53 > 1:40:57Yep, totally useless in a game of football but outrageously epic.
1:40:59 > 1:41:01And that's how to be epic at the next door.
1:41:01 > 1:41:04Thank you, John.
1:41:04 > 1:41:06We are taking this right from the H to the T.
1:41:06 > 1:41:08That's head to the toe between me and you.
1:41:08 > 1:41:11Now, grab your ballet shoes and get on your tippies.
1:41:13 > 1:41:15Ballet is truly epic.
1:41:15 > 1:41:19You get to stand on your toes, twirl around and wear a tutu.
1:41:19 > 1:41:21Hrm-hrm, I mean tights.
1:41:21 > 1:41:23I mean...yeah, it's dead manly.
1:41:23 > 1:41:26Anyway, want to know how to do it like a pro? Watch this girl.
1:41:26 > 1:41:27My name's Lizzie Gough
1:41:27 > 1:41:31and I'm going to show you how to curtsy like a prima ballerina.
1:41:31 > 1:41:34Do what? Like who?
1:41:34 > 1:41:37Ahh! But how?
1:41:37 > 1:41:39You're going to start off in a ballet position
1:41:39 > 1:41:43which is known as first position and it looks like this.
1:41:43 > 1:41:44I'm a natural!
1:41:44 > 1:41:48From here, you're going to point your foot to the side, then you're going
1:41:48 > 1:41:52to transfer your weight onto this foot and open your arms out.
1:41:52 > 1:41:54Got it. Next.
1:41:54 > 1:41:57Then you're going to slide this foot backwards
1:41:57 > 1:42:00and transfer your weight back up and open your hands
1:42:00 > 1:42:02and point your front foot.
1:42:02 > 1:42:05I thought this was going to be easy.
1:42:05 > 1:42:08Then you're going to close it off back into first position.
1:42:08 > 1:42:09And curtsy.
1:42:09 > 1:42:13- You're going to point your foot to the side.- Oh, right, there's more.
1:42:13 > 1:42:15You're going to transfer your weight onto this foot.
1:42:15 > 1:42:18At the same time, you're going to bring the back foot behind
1:42:18 > 1:42:22and you're going to bend forward and take your arm across.
1:42:22 > 1:42:26Oof, curtsying is complicated. Once more for me?
1:42:26 > 1:42:30So, to curtsy, you need to do this with your arms,
1:42:30 > 1:42:32lots of pointing with your toes,
1:42:32 > 1:42:35the odd slide and finally...
1:42:35 > 1:42:37- yeah, that. - CHEERING
1:42:37 > 1:42:40And that's how you can be epic at doing a curtsy.
1:42:40 > 1:42:41Cool moves, Lizzie.
1:42:41 > 1:42:43I just need to learn how to dance now.
1:42:43 > 1:42:47So there you have it. Your quick blast of epicness.
1:42:47 > 1:42:50Now go forth and be epic at everything!
