0:42:30 > 0:42:34SHE BEATBOXES

0:42:34 > 0:42:36Hey, what's up? My name is Bellatrix

0:42:36 > 0:42:39- and I'm a world champion beat boxer.- Show off!

0:42:39 > 0:42:42I'm going to show you some simple steps of how you can turn yourself

0:42:42 > 0:42:44into your very own human beatbox,

0:42:44 > 0:42:45so you can impress your friends at parties.

0:42:45 > 0:42:47A little something like this...

0:42:47 > 0:42:48SHE BEATBOXES

0:42:48 > 0:42:50OK, that's pretty amazing.

0:42:50 > 0:42:51How do I do it?

0:42:51 > 0:42:54First off, I want you to think of your voice as a drum kit.

0:42:54 > 0:42:55Erm...OK.

0:42:55 > 0:42:57Each of the sounds you're going to be making is going to be

0:42:57 > 0:42:59a part of that drum kit.

0:42:59 > 0:43:01So, we'll start with the bass drum,

0:43:01 > 0:43:02which you can think of as the letter B.

0:43:02 > 0:43:05SHE MAKES A BASS DRUM SOUND: "Buh-buh-buhff"

0:43:05 > 0:43:06Got it! Next.

0:43:06 > 0:43:08Next, we're going to introduce the hi-hat,

0:43:08 > 0:43:11which is, basically, two cymbals that you hit.

0:43:11 > 0:43:13They can be represented by letter T.

0:43:13 > 0:43:16SHE MAKES A CYMBAL SOUND: "Ti-ti-ti"

0:43:16 > 0:43:17This is easy.

0:43:17 > 0:43:20Finally, we're going to bring in the snare drum.

0:43:20 > 0:43:22You can think of the snare drum like a K.

0:43:22 > 0:43:25- SHE MAKES A SNARE DRUM SOUND: "Sch-kuh"- OK.

0:43:25 > 0:43:27So, now we've got the three basic sounds -

0:43:27 > 0:43:28the bass drum "buh-buh",

0:43:28 > 0:43:30the hi-hat "ti-ti"

0:43:30 > 0:43:32and the snare drum "sch-kuh-kuh".

0:43:32 > 0:43:34With just those three sounds,

0:43:34 > 0:43:36you can do a lot. For example,

0:43:36 > 0:43:39SHE BEATBOXES USING THOSE SOUNDS

0:43:39 > 0:43:41Whoa, that's great!

0:43:41 > 0:43:43Just remember not to try it at the dinner table.

0:43:43 > 0:43:46SHE CONTINUES BEATBOXING

0:43:46 > 0:43:49And that's how to be epic at beatboxing.

0:43:49 > 0:43:51Thank you, Bellatrix.

0:43:51 > 0:43:54That's your first wave of epicness over.

0:43:54 > 0:43:55Now, for something different...

0:43:55 > 0:43:57Like maths... No, seriously.

0:43:57 > 0:43:59It's cool.

0:43:59 > 0:44:02Guess what? Maths is like magic.

0:44:02 > 0:44:04Don't believe me?

0:44:04 > 0:44:06This girl's going to prove it.

0:44:06 > 0:44:08Hi, I'm Rachel Riley

0:44:08 > 0:44:10and I'm going to teach you how to become a math magician

0:44:10 > 0:44:13and predict a number that someone's thinking about.

0:44:13 > 0:44:15And while there's no actual magic involved,

0:44:15 > 0:44:18there is a little bit of maths trickery.

0:44:18 > 0:44:20Go on. Show us this magic maths.

0:44:20 > 0:44:22Think of a number below ten.

0:44:22 > 0:44:23Five.

0:44:23 > 0:44:25- Now double it.- Five plus five is ten.

0:44:25 > 0:44:27Add six to your new number.

0:44:27 > 0:44:28Ten plus 6 is 16.

0:44:28 > 0:44:30- Halve it.- Eight.

0:44:30 > 0:44:32And lastly, subtract your original number.

0:44:32 > 0:44:34Erm, three.

0:44:34 > 0:44:36Now, using my math superpowers,

0:44:36 > 0:44:39I can tell you that the number you're thinking about...

0:44:39 > 0:44:41..is three.

0:44:41 > 0:44:43No way! How does that work?

0:44:43 > 0:44:45The answer is always three.

0:44:45 > 0:44:46And this is why.

0:44:46 > 0:44:49OK. Show us how it's done. Different number.

0:44:49 > 0:44:51- So, in our trick, we first thought of a number...- Seven.

0:44:51 > 0:44:53- ..then we doubled it.- 14.

0:44:53 > 0:44:55- And then we added six.- 20.

0:44:55 > 0:44:56So, when we halved this,

0:44:56 > 0:44:58we ended up with one of our number

0:44:58 > 0:45:01and halve of six.

0:45:01 > 0:45:03When we took away our original number,

0:45:03 > 0:45:04all that was left was half of six,

0:45:04 > 0:45:05- which is three.- Aha!

0:45:05 > 0:45:08And the answer is three and it's always three.

0:45:08 > 0:45:09Oh, cool trick!

0:45:09 > 0:45:11Thanks, Rachel.

0:45:11 > 0:45:13From a math magician to a dance floor diva.

0:45:13 > 0:45:14Throw your calculators away.

0:45:14 > 0:45:16The only numbers you need

0:45:16 > 0:45:17are one, two, three, four,

0:45:17 > 0:45:20five, six, seven, eight.

0:45:20 > 0:45:22If you don't want to dance like your dad,

0:45:22 > 0:45:26then get on your feet and get ready to learn a truly epic move.

0:45:26 > 0:45:27Hi, I'm Lizzie Gough

0:45:27 > 0:45:30and I'm going to teach you a classic dance move

0:45:30 > 0:45:31that you have to learn.

0:45:31 > 0:45:33This is how to do "the running man."

0:45:35 > 0:45:37Amazing!

0:45:37 > 0:45:38Tell me more, running lady.

0:45:38 > 0:45:41First, you're going to start with one leg up in the air

0:45:41 > 0:45:43- and you have your hands forward. - Got it!

0:45:43 > 0:45:45You're going to bring your arms back

0:45:45 > 0:45:47and you're going to hop on the supporting leg

0:45:47 > 0:45:50and put both feet on the floor.

0:45:50 > 0:45:52Right. Arms back and feet down.

0:45:52 > 0:45:54Next.

0:45:54 > 0:45:55Then you're going to repeat the move.

0:45:55 > 0:45:58So, you're going to hop on the other foot at the same time

0:45:58 > 0:46:00you're going to bring your arms forward.

0:46:00 > 0:46:03Then you just keep repeating this move.

0:46:03 > 0:46:05One, two.

0:46:05 > 0:46:07I'll be hopping mad if I can't learn.

0:46:07 > 0:46:10- Sorry.- One, two.

0:46:10 > 0:46:12And then you can keep going faster.

0:46:12 > 0:46:14Turning around. Playing with it.

0:46:14 > 0:46:16Just experiment.

0:46:16 > 0:46:19And that's how you can be epic doing "the running man."
