0:01:52 > 0:01:54OK, gather round. It's team talk time!

0:01:54 > 0:01:59Today, we're going to be looking at a different sport called gymnastics.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Does anyone know what things we might do in gymnastics?

0:02:02 > 0:02:06- Ooh, Tay?- Forward rolls.- Brilliant.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09- Sienna?- Cartwheels.- Fantastic.

0:02:09 > 0:02:13There are loads of different things we can do in gymnastics, and

0:02:13 > 0:02:18to tell us some more about it, I've invited along a good friend of mine.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22Dan Keatings, international gymnast and multiple gold-medallist.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26Dan specialises in routines on the pommel horse,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29and when he's not in training, he can be found spinning and

0:02:29 > 0:02:33flipping his way to a win in top competitions.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38- Hi, Dan. Thanks for joining us. - No problem.

0:02:38 > 0:02:43We want to learn about gymnastics, and there's a few things we can try.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46There's artistic gymnastics, which is what I mainly do.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50We use equipment such as the beam, bars, pommel horse and the rings.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54There's trampolining, where you do flips every time you bounce,

0:02:54 > 0:02:59and rhythmic gymnastics, where you do rolls and flips on the mats.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01So, there's lots to get involved with.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04What three things are important in gymnastics?

0:03:04 > 0:03:07Strength, flexibility and your finish.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09What's the first thing we'll do?

0:03:09 > 0:03:11We'll look at rhythmic gymnastics,

0:03:11 > 0:03:15and we'll start with a forward roll. You start by standing

0:03:15 > 0:03:19nice and straight. Crouch down, put your hands on the floor,

0:03:19 > 0:03:23straighten your legs, tuck your head in, and push forward into the roll.

0:03:23 > 0:03:27- When you've completed the roll, the finish is really important.- OK!

0:03:27 > 0:03:30Nice straight start from Sienna.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32A great roll from Rex. REX LAUGHS

0:03:32 > 0:03:36Stand up nice and straight and have that finish position.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39Good. Straighten those legs up. Fantastic.

0:03:39 > 0:03:43These pups are getting the hang of this now. Great stuff.

0:03:43 > 0:03:47Malachi goes for a roll! He's pleased with that one.

0:03:47 > 0:03:51Start by standing nice and straight. Crouch down, hands on the floor,

0:03:51 > 0:03:54straighten your legs, tuck your head under,

0:03:54 > 0:03:56push over, have a good finish position.

0:03:56 > 0:03:58Push with your legs. Excellent.

0:03:58 > 0:04:02Whilst these guys practise, here's a reminder for you at home.

0:04:02 > 0:04:06For gymnastics, you'll need strength and flexibility.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09These skills are also used in football.

0:04:09 > 0:04:12And don't forget your finish!

0:04:13 > 0:04:15We're going to do cartwheels.

0:04:15 > 0:04:19To start, stand side on to the line in front of you.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22As you step forward, place your hand either side of the line

0:04:22 > 0:04:26on the puppy paws, and kick your legs over quickly.

0:04:26 > 0:04:30Go on, Lucas. Good. Stand up nice and straight to finish.

0:04:30 > 0:04:34- Don't forget the finish.- A cracking cartwheel!- Wow, good concentration.

0:04:34 > 0:04:38Ready, Oriana? Beautiful, well done!

0:04:38 > 0:04:41They're getting the hang of this now.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44Kick those legs over quickly.

0:04:44 > 0:04:48Keep your body straight. First paw. Wow, really nice.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51Get those hands on the puppy paws. Well done.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53And a nice finish.

0:07:33 > 0:07:37We're not nearly as good at gymnastics as we are at football.

0:07:37 > 0:07:40But, Rex, gymnastics uses speed,

0:07:40 > 0:07:44balance, flexibility and strength!

0:07:44 > 0:07:47All the skills you already need to play football.

0:07:47 > 0:07:51I don't think we look like this when we're playing football!

0:08:22 > 0:08:26This is terrible news for the pups. If only Pete could help.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29- But it looks like he's a bit distracted.- Right, then.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59THEY HOWL

0:08:59 > 0:09:02There's no way the pups... ENGINE REVS

0:09:02 > 0:09:05SHOUTING: I said, there's no way they'll be heard

0:09:15 > 0:09:20- At least that open window will keep us cold.- Open window?

0:09:55 > 0:09:58What a brilliant idea, laddie. Ho-ho!

0:09:58 > 0:10:00Rex's running needs speed,

0:10:00 > 0:10:04Rozzie's move on Pickle's head needs strength and balance...

0:10:04 > 0:10:07..and your jumping uses flexibility!

0:10:07 > 0:10:12So, we can try to put them all together and use gymnastics

0:10:12 > 0:10:13to reach the window!

0:10:15 > 0:10:18It's a tall order, but can the pups pull it off?
