0:39:03 > 0:39:07- There you go.- Love that.- Well, that is Music Download complete.

0:39:07 > 0:39:10CHEERING

0:39:14 > 0:39:15Welcome to What's Up Download

0:39:15 > 0:39:17where you guys send in your problems

0:39:17 > 0:39:19and we discuss them to try and find a solution.

0:39:19 > 0:39:22So today's issue has been sent in by Kate.

0:39:44 > 0:39:48When I first... When I moved, I was in the same position as Kate.

0:39:48 > 0:39:51I went from a primary school with 105 students

0:39:51 > 0:39:54- all the way up to almost 2,000.- Wow.

0:39:54 > 0:39:56And I think it's going to be scary

0:39:56 > 0:39:58because you don't know what to expect.

0:39:58 > 0:40:01I'm sure if you, like, be yourself, you'll be fine.

0:40:01 > 0:40:04It's probably easier moving from primary school to high school

0:40:04 > 0:40:05than it is to just move schools.

0:40:05 > 0:40:08Cos I moved schools in year nine and I was really, really scared

0:40:08 > 0:40:11because I didn't really have any friends at the time.

0:40:11 > 0:40:13But after, like, a couple of weeks, everything was cool

0:40:13 > 0:40:15and everybody was really friendly.

0:40:15 > 0:40:17When I moved up to secondary school,

0:40:17 > 0:40:20- I actually moved to a different area.- Oh, wow.

0:40:20 > 0:40:22So I didn't know anyone. I didn't know one person in the school.

0:40:22 > 0:40:25So it was quite scary on the first day.

0:40:25 > 0:40:29I mean, turning up, seeing almost 1,000 people in a room.

0:40:29 > 0:40:33- Yeah.- Like, new people chatting to each other and knowing each other.

0:40:33 > 0:40:36And turning up and being the only one, like, on your own,

0:40:36 > 0:40:39it was quite scary but I think you've just got to be confident

0:40:39 > 0:40:42and just show that you're, like, a good person

0:40:42 > 0:40:44and just try and socialise with people

0:40:44 > 0:40:46- and you gain friends quite quickly. - Yeah, class.

0:40:46 > 0:40:49That must have been really scary, moving completely on your own.

0:40:49 > 0:40:52Yeah, cos you normally go with friends, a lot of the time.

0:40:52 > 0:40:54I moved to a completely different school

0:40:54 > 0:40:56and I was really scared.

0:40:56 > 0:40:59I was just terrified of, like, whether I was going to fit in

0:40:59 > 0:41:01or whether people would like me or not.

0:41:01 > 0:41:04I just started to think, like, we was all in the same boat.

0:41:04 > 0:41:07Everybody was looking to find new friends and have a good time.

0:41:07 > 0:41:10Just be open, be friendly and be up for making friends

0:41:10 > 0:41:13and speaking to people. That is really important.

0:41:13 > 0:41:14Now, also, Ella Eyre,

0:41:14 > 0:41:16who was on the show a couple of weeks ago,

0:41:16 > 0:41:17gave us this advice.

0:41:17 > 0:41:19Even though you're leaving behind your old friends,

0:41:19 > 0:41:21you'll always have those friends

0:41:21 > 0:41:23and you can always see those friends as well.

0:41:23 > 0:41:25But going to a new school's exciting cos you're meeting

0:41:25 > 0:41:27loads of new people and loads of new friends

0:41:27 > 0:41:30and they're probably just as scared as you are.

0:41:30 > 0:41:31Thanks for that advice, Ella.

0:41:31 > 0:41:34And this is what 5 Seconds Of Summer had to say.

0:41:34 > 0:41:37If you're scared of moving schools from primary to secondary,

0:41:37 > 0:41:40I'd do that.

0:41:40 > 0:41:44But when I moved I was very scared, and I was not that cool at school,

0:41:44 > 0:41:46but I met these guys.

0:41:46 > 0:41:48I remember seeing you the first day.

0:41:48 > 0:41:53- I thought you were so cool. - Aw, thank you.

0:41:53 > 0:41:56You never know, you might meet some people and make a band.

0:41:56 > 0:41:59Or do whatever you like to do and you might meet new people

0:41:59 > 0:42:02that suit your personality better than the ones before.

0:42:02 > 0:42:04- You know what? You definitely will. - It's a big world.

0:42:04 > 0:42:06And it will be fine.

0:42:06 > 0:42:08How cool is that that 5 Seconds Of Summer actually

0:42:08 > 0:42:09met each other at school?

0:42:09 > 0:42:12So, I don't think that everybody's going to go and form a boy band

0:42:12 > 0:42:15when they move schools, but you can definitely make some new friends.

0:42:15 > 0:42:17And you guys have also been on the CBBC website

0:42:17 > 0:42:19leaving your advice on the message boards.

0:42:19 > 0:42:22- So I believe you've got some stuff here to read, haven't you?- I do.

0:42:22 > 0:42:27Brown Twirling Crock, she says, "I'm in year seven, nearly year eight.

0:42:27 > 0:42:30"I was worried when I joined secondary school,

0:42:30 > 0:42:33"but it surprised me when I made new friends so quickly.

0:42:33 > 0:42:36"You soon get used to all the different teachers and classrooms.

0:42:36 > 0:42:39- "You have nothing to worry about at all. Hope this helps."- Helps a lot.

0:42:39 > 0:42:42If you got new friends who are feeling a bit sad or down,

0:42:42 > 0:42:45you can always go over and give them a helping hand

0:42:45 > 0:42:48- and get them involved in your group of friends.- Definitely.

0:42:48 > 0:42:51That's some great advice. If you see somebody that is a bit on their own,

0:42:51 > 0:42:55involve them cos you'd want somebody to do that for you.

0:42:55 > 0:43:00There's another one from Peach Bass Buzzard.

0:43:00 > 0:43:04"On your first day you'll have a tour then you'll be happy.

0:43:04 > 0:43:06"It's OK to be nervous."

0:43:06 > 0:43:10- Great advice. Is it OK to be nervous. - It's terrible when you get lost

0:43:10 > 0:43:11and you're late for lessons,

0:43:11 > 0:43:14but the teachers always seem to give you a chance.

0:43:14 > 0:43:17I remember when I moved to my new school and we had a map.

0:43:17 > 0:43:20I was just looking around like, "Where do I go?"

0:43:20 > 0:43:22When I go up every year, you're not used to

0:43:22 > 0:43:25the classrooms that you're in, so every year you still get lost.

0:43:25 > 0:43:28When I moved to my secondary school we had this treasure hunt

0:43:28 > 0:43:31around the school just so you knew where the classroom was.

0:43:31 > 0:43:33- That was fun, I enjoyed that. - That's a good idea.

0:43:33 > 0:43:36I think I did use that as an excuse.

0:43:36 > 0:43:39Think I got to class late and I'm like, "Got lost."

0:43:41 > 0:43:43This is from Aqua Reading Gadget.

0:43:43 > 0:43:46"Try offering a shy or lost-looking person a seat next to you in

0:43:46 > 0:43:49"the lunchroom or in a class, and smile as much as you can.

0:43:49 > 0:43:52"Have fun and good luck."

0:43:52 > 0:43:55You look a lot more approachable if you smile.

0:43:55 > 0:43:57Now, I hope you all have a wonderful summer holidays.

0:43:57 > 0:44:00And remember, when you start school in September, don't be nervous.

0:44:00 > 0:44:02Just think of all the advice we've given you

0:44:02 > 0:44:04and you'll have a great time.

0:44:04 > 0:44:06But for now, that's What's Up Download complete.

0:44:11 > 0:44:15Hi, I'm Anais. Welcome to Style Download and welcome to my bedroom.

0:44:22 > 0:44:23I love fashion.

0:44:23 > 0:44:27And I'm always trying to recreate styles using my own clothes.

0:44:27 > 0:44:29But I thought I'd share my tips with you guys at home.

0:44:29 > 0:44:31Today, I'm going to show you

0:44:31 > 0:44:34how to make a pair of shorts from an old pair of jeans.

0:44:34 > 0:44:35You're right, Anais.

0:44:35 > 0:44:39Shorts made from old jeans are definitely a must-have this summer.

0:44:39 > 0:44:43All you need is a pair of old jeans, a marker and some scissors.

0:44:43 > 0:44:45Right, let's get styling.

0:44:48 > 0:44:51My little tip is to use a marker to mark where you want to cut,

0:44:51 > 0:44:53but you can use some chalk.

0:44:53 > 0:44:56Doing this means you've more control of the length of your shorts

0:44:56 > 0:44:58and you're more likely to get a straight line.

0:44:58 > 0:45:00Take your marker and mark a line front

0:45:00 > 0:45:03and back about halfway between where your waist and knee is.

0:45:05 > 0:45:07If I was a boy, I would mark just below the knee.

0:45:07 > 0:45:10But you can make these shorts whatever length you want,

0:45:10 > 0:45:11it's totally up to you.

0:45:14 > 0:45:17Now, take your scissors and cut along the markings.

0:45:17 > 0:45:19If you make a little slit it's easy to insert your scissors

0:45:19 > 0:45:21and cut along the line.

0:45:22 > 0:45:24If you're one of our younger viewers,

0:45:24 > 0:45:25get an adult to help you with this bit.

0:45:27 > 0:45:30Once you finish cutting, don't throw away your excesses,

0:45:30 > 0:45:33you can use them to customise other bits of clothing.

0:45:38 > 0:45:40Your shorts should now look like this.

0:45:40 > 0:45:43The next step is to get an adult to put them in the washing machine.

0:45:43 > 0:45:47When they come out they should look like this.

0:45:48 > 0:45:51You can even pull on them yourself to fray them even more.

0:45:51 > 0:45:54If you've missed any of that here's a quick recap.

0:45:55 > 0:45:57Step 1 - take an old pair of jeans

0:45:57 > 0:46:02and mark out where you want your shorts to start using a marker.

0:46:02 > 0:46:06Step 2 - use a pair of scissors, cut along the markings.

0:46:08 > 0:46:11Step 3 - pop the shorts into your washing machine

0:46:11 > 0:46:14to get a frayed edges effect.

0:46:14 > 0:46:16I've got my finished shorts.

0:46:16 > 0:46:19All I need to do now is to put them on to hit the streets

0:46:19 > 0:46:21to see what you lovely lot think. Come on.

0:46:31 > 0:46:32- Hi.- Hi.

0:46:32 > 0:46:35- Do you like my shorts? - Yeah.- I made them myself.

0:46:35 > 0:46:39- Hm.- You get a pair of old jeans. - Yeah.- And you take a marker pen.

0:46:39 > 0:46:42And you mark where you want to cut them, so you get a nice line.

0:46:42 > 0:46:43And then you cut them.

0:46:43 > 0:46:46And then you pull them a bit and put them in the washing machine.

0:46:46 > 0:46:48Then you get these nice little frayed bits.

0:46:48 > 0:46:50Which ones would you wear in the summer?

0:46:50 > 0:46:53The shorter ones because you might get a little bit more hotter

0:46:53 > 0:46:56- and these look like they're more for boys.- Yeah.

0:46:59 > 0:47:01- Hi.- Hi.- Do you like my shorts?

0:47:01 > 0:47:03I love them. They're fabuloso.

0:47:03 > 0:47:05Do you think you guys are going to make these?

0:47:05 > 0:47:07I really will make them.

0:47:09 > 0:47:10- Hi, guys.- BOTH: Hi.

0:47:10 > 0:47:12- Do you like my shorts? - BOTH: Yeah.

0:47:12 > 0:47:15- Are you guys going to try and make them at home?- BOTH: Yeah.

0:47:15 > 0:47:18How long do you think you're going to have them?

0:47:18 > 0:47:21- About here... - Oh, just above your knee?- Yes.

0:47:26 > 0:47:29It seems like everybody loved my shorts.

0:47:29 > 0:47:31I love taking old clothes and making them into new ones.

0:47:31 > 0:47:34I guess fashion's just in some people's genes.

0:47:34 > 0:47:36That's Style Download complete.

0:47:47 > 0:47:49Guys, let me explain how this works.

0:47:49 > 0:47:52Hot or Not is the part of the show where we bring up topics

0:47:52 > 0:47:54and we discuss whether they're hot or not.

0:47:54 > 0:47:57And if we think they're hot, we're going to sit on, what side, Cel?

0:47:57 > 0:47:58- This side.- Correct.

0:47:58 > 0:48:01And if not, then we're going to sit on this side.

0:48:01 > 0:48:02Since you're newbies,

0:48:02 > 0:48:04why don't you start us off with the first suggestion.

0:48:04 > 0:48:08We've got a web suggestion from Indigo Rapping Giraffe.

0:48:08 > 0:48:12The hot topic is Secret Languages.

0:48:12 > 0:48:16Me and Charlie have experience with secret languages.

0:48:16 > 0:48:18- Have you got your own?- Yeah.

0:48:18 > 0:48:20Merk is milk.

0:48:50 > 0:48:52Oh, yes.

0:48:52 > 0:48:53- Do you know it?- I know of it, yeah.

0:48:53 > 0:48:55That's one I was going to say.

0:48:55 > 0:48:58Can you speak it? How do you hello, how are you?

0:48:58 > 0:49:00Herlo, her are you?

0:49:00 > 0:49:01In uvaguv that would be...

0:49:01 > 0:49:04HE SPEAKS UVAGUV

0:49:04 > 0:49:07I think I'm going to stay on Not for this one.

0:49:07 > 0:49:12It always gets so confusing with different letters with phrases.

0:49:12 > 0:49:13But then if you use it,

0:49:13 > 0:49:17- nobody's going to know what you're talking about.- Exactly.

0:49:17 > 0:49:19- He got your one straight away. - Ours is more funny.

0:49:19 > 0:49:23If you have a genuine secret language then it's going to be amazing.

0:49:23 > 0:49:25And you're going to seem really clever as well.

0:49:25 > 0:49:26Like, "Oh, he knows a secret language."

0:49:26 > 0:49:28I can't even learn a normal language,

0:49:28 > 0:49:32- let alone a secret language. - Are we on Hot or Not?

0:49:32 > 0:49:33I'm on Not.

0:50:01 > 0:50:04You're into fashion.

0:50:04 > 0:50:05Same colour t-shirt, same colour shoes.

0:50:20 > 0:50:21What about denim on denim?

0:50:21 > 0:50:24I like double denim.

0:50:24 > 0:50:28You've got to have a certain look to pull it off.

0:50:28 > 0:50:30I've rocked it on the show once, actually.

0:50:30 > 0:50:34# She's a dedicated follower of fashion. #

0:50:34 > 0:50:37Talk me through the outfit.

0:50:37 > 0:50:39Got the high tops, which are bright.

0:50:39 > 0:50:41And then you've got not too much yellow...

0:50:41 > 0:50:45Just enough to bring out the trainers.

0:50:45 > 0:50:46Just the perfect amount.

0:50:46 > 0:50:49This kid could be a fashion designer. I'm not even joking.

0:50:49 > 0:50:51- Would you have a bracelet on?- Yeah.

0:50:53 > 0:50:57- A necklace or a bracelet. - I'm going to go Hot.

0:51:00 > 0:51:03You'd have to have them different colours.

0:51:03 > 0:51:06See, I don't think I really think about it.

0:51:06 > 0:51:08Come over, you know it's hot.

0:51:08 > 0:51:11You're black, white, black, white right now.

0:51:11 > 0:51:13You're doing it.

0:51:14 > 0:51:16Come over here.

0:51:17 > 0:51:19Yes. So we're all Hot.

0:51:19 > 0:51:24My Hot or Not is actually sand castles.

0:51:24 > 0:51:27And as you can see, there's one right here.

0:51:29 > 0:51:31- What are you doing, guys? - Just spreading out.

0:51:31 > 0:51:34I purposely moved actually

0:51:34 > 0:51:38because I don't like the beach, sand,

0:51:38 > 0:51:40so sand castles aren't for me.

0:51:40 > 0:51:44When you're on the beach and you go into the sea...

0:51:44 > 0:51:47you're going to come back out, you're going to sunbathe,

0:51:47 > 0:51:48you're going to walk across the sand

0:51:48 > 0:51:50and then it sticks to you.

0:51:50 > 0:51:55And then you have to go wash in the outside showers.

0:51:55 > 0:51:58It's not actually sand, it's building sand castles.

0:51:58 > 0:52:02Yeah, but they're associated with sand, I'm not a sandy man.

0:52:02 > 0:52:04It gets stuck in your feet.

0:52:04 > 0:52:06Come and join us.

0:52:08 > 0:52:11The worst thing is putting your socks on after

0:52:11 > 0:52:13going on the beach and having to walk

0:52:13 > 0:52:15and pulling your shoe off when you go home and go like that...

0:52:15 > 0:52:18But that's why they have showers.

0:52:18 > 0:52:20Yeah, but then you always have to walk on sand.

0:52:20 > 0:52:22And then...

0:52:22 > 0:52:23I'm getting angry now.

0:52:25 > 0:52:27If you're making a successful sand castle,

0:52:27 > 0:52:31the joy you get out of looking at it, see.

0:52:31 > 0:52:34- Don't you feel overjoyed? - How do you feel, Dionne?

0:52:34 > 0:52:36I feel underjoyed, actually.

0:52:36 > 0:52:38If that's even a word.

0:52:38 > 0:52:40I've got two younger brothers and when I make

0:52:40 > 0:52:43sand castles on the beach, they always come over and smash them.

0:52:43 > 0:52:44That's part of the fun, though.

0:52:44 > 0:52:47Sorry, guys.

0:52:50 > 0:52:54I just think they're such a fun thing to do on the beach,

0:52:54 > 0:52:56you can get together with your family and do it.

0:52:56 > 0:52:58Maybe that's a boy thing.

0:52:58 > 0:53:00THEY SPEAK OVER EACH OTHER

0:53:00 > 0:53:02I used to like creating a moat around it.

0:53:02 > 0:53:05But then the water goes through the sand.

0:53:05 > 0:53:11I don't like sand, but I don't mind building sand castles.

0:53:11 > 0:53:13- It's not hot, it's not hot. - It's not hot.

0:53:13 > 0:53:16So guys, we want to know what you think about building sand castles
