0:09:13 > 0:09:18- Do you know what this is, Lily-Rose? - A wormery!

0:09:18 > 0:09:21- And do you know what's inside it? - Worms, of course!

0:09:21 > 0:09:24That's right! Do you know what they're doing?

0:09:24 > 0:09:26Mmm...no.

0:09:26 > 0:09:30They're working away at our vegetable scraps to make compost.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32Would you like to see them?

0:09:32 > 0:09:34Maybe...

0:09:45 > 0:09:46Mmm.

0:09:51 > 0:09:53There.

0:09:53 > 0:09:57Ooh, it stinks. Look, Ant, I found one!

0:09:57 > 0:09:59It's a red one.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02You're right!

0:10:02 > 0:10:06- Is it worm poo? - No, Lily-Rose, it's compost!

0:10:06 > 0:10:09I think I'm going to wash my hands.

0:10:09 > 0:10:14Oh no! She still doesn't like mud.

0:10:16 > 0:10:21In the far north of Britain, along the west coast of Scotland,

0:10:21 > 0:10:26there's a very secretive and lovable creature that lives by the sea.

0:10:28 > 0:10:31I'm an otter, and this is my baby cub!

0:10:34 > 0:10:37My baby otter cub is only nine months old,

0:10:37 > 0:10:41and already she is almost as big as me!

0:10:41 > 0:10:43She is also very playful.

0:10:48 > 0:10:52For the next few months or so, she'll stay very close to me,

0:10:52 > 0:10:56so I can teach her how to fish for our food!

0:10:56 > 0:11:01We go everywhere together, and we are always side by side.

0:11:04 > 0:11:08I know all the best places for finding fish.

0:11:08 > 0:11:13Look how I dive. I use my long tail like a rudder to swim underwater.

0:11:14 > 0:11:17My cub watches every move I make.

0:11:17 > 0:11:21It's not long before she catches her own fish!

0:11:25 > 0:11:28We use our paws to hold our supper tightly.

0:11:28 > 0:11:32Trying to hold on to slippery fish is no easy job!

0:11:36 > 0:11:40When we're not fishing, we like to groom each other.

0:11:40 > 0:11:44It's important to make sure our fur is in tip-top condition.

0:11:44 > 0:11:48In the cold water, our special fur coat keeps us warm and snug.

0:11:49 > 0:11:53We have an outer layer of fur that gets soaking wet.

0:11:53 > 0:11:57Yet underneath, we have thick, dense fur that stays nice and dry.

0:11:57 > 0:12:01That's how we can swim in the sea, no matter how cold it is.

0:12:01 > 0:12:07Amazingly, we hunt for fish even in the most stormy of weathers.

0:12:07 > 0:12:10We have to, or we would go very hungry.

0:12:11 > 0:12:15In the next few months, my cub will be old enough to fend for herself,

0:12:15 > 0:12:18and she will find a new home along the coast.

0:12:18 > 0:12:20Until that time, I'll raise my cub.

0:12:20 > 0:12:24I'll teach her all the skills to become a grown-up otter.

0:12:24 > 0:12:26Maybe she'll form her own family!

0:12:26 > 0:12:31As the sun goes down, there's time for one more dip in the sea.

0:12:31 > 0:12:33See you!

0:12:38 > 0:12:43Otters are really amazing, aren't they? Have you ever seen one?

0:12:43 > 0:12:45No, they're pretty rare.

0:12:45 > 0:12:47I bet they like the mud.

0:12:47 > 0:12:51Yes, I'm sure they do. They live by the water in quite muddy places.

0:12:51 > 0:12:55I wonder if we asked Sky if she'd let us play with some mud?

0:12:55 > 0:12:57I'll go and ask her!

0:12:57 > 0:13:00I've found some Green Balloon Club members!

0:13:00 > 0:13:04- Is it the mud festival? - It doesn't look muddy down there.

0:13:22 > 0:13:29Elderberries grow in little bunches, on elder trees and bushes.

0:13:29 > 0:13:33They grow along paths and streams.

0:13:33 > 0:13:37The leaves on elder trees have jagged edges.

0:13:37 > 0:13:39The berries come in the autumn!

0:13:39 > 0:13:44They're green, and then light purple and then dark purple.

0:13:44 > 0:13:49The green ones aren't ripe, but the purple ones are!

0:13:49 > 0:13:52There is a seed in each berry.

0:13:52 > 0:13:55Birds and other wildlife like to eat them.

0:13:55 > 0:13:58The seeds can grow into new elderberry trees.

0:13:58 > 0:14:03It's very important not to pick any berries or eat any berries

0:14:03 > 0:14:05unless a grown-up says it's safe.

0:14:08 > 0:14:11So, remember the clues!

0:14:14 > 0:14:17The berries grow in the autumn.

0:14:50 > 0:14:53And which one would you choose?

0:15:38 > 0:15:43And then smooth it into a big sausage shape.

0:15:45 > 0:15:49And what we're going to do, is we're gonna make some seals.

0:15:49 > 0:15:53So we need to make them a bit long.

0:16:47 > 0:16:52You really push it on, cos it's so slippery!

0:16:54 > 0:16:57- We should give ours a face, shouldn't we?- Yes.

0:16:57 > 0:16:59Yours is looking really good, Jay.

0:16:59 > 0:17:01Thanks, Sky.

0:17:01 > 0:17:05And we're gonna give it a cute little nose.

0:17:05 > 0:17:08And they've got whiskers as well, don't they?

0:17:08 > 0:17:13I think I should make some flippers so that my seal can swim.

0:17:13 > 0:17:18So we'll give it two cuts here...

0:17:18 > 0:17:21Do the flippers have any patterns on?
