0:00:02 > 0:00:03It's term-time again

0:00:03 > 0:00:06and our four magicians have left school on a brand-new mission.

0:00:06 > 0:00:10This time, we're taking unsuspecting kids out of school

0:00:10 > 0:00:13and sending them on school trips.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16They're off to visit some amazing locations where they'll witness

0:00:16 > 0:00:17incredible magic.

0:00:18 > 0:00:22And once again, we're hiding secret cameras on every corner

0:00:22 > 0:00:25so you don't miss a trick on any school trip.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27How long will it take before the classes shout...

0:00:27 > 0:00:31ALL: Help! My School Trip Is Magic!

0:00:31 > 0:00:34CHEERING

0:00:34 > 0:00:36This is year four.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39They're going to the Royal Institution of Great Britain,

0:00:39 > 0:00:43an organisation devoted to scientific education.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45James will add his magical formula but first,

0:00:45 > 0:00:48- we need to doctor his looks. - (WOLF WHISTLES)- Hot stuff!

0:00:48 > 0:00:50So today's presentation,

0:00:50 > 0:00:54I get to bisect a live human being right before their very eyes.

0:00:54 > 0:00:55It's going to be great.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57The cameras are set in,

0:00:57 > 0:01:00the kids are sent in but they don't know they've been set up.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02We're going to use Miss Lyne.

0:01:02 > 0:01:03Miss Lyne, if you could come and help me

0:01:03 > 0:01:06and if you'd like to just lie on the table there.

0:01:06 > 0:01:09The people think she works here but Miss Lyne is James'

0:01:09 > 0:01:11magical assistant.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14Now, Miss Lyne is positioning herself over the main sensor area,

0:01:14 > 0:01:16and we're just going to put some dynamic dispersion domes

0:01:16 > 0:01:22on top to activate the nanotechnology.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25Now, obviously when doing this, you have to be very,

0:01:25 > 0:01:27very careful that we put these on correctly.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29There, I think that's fantastic.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32This futuristic looking device is about to house a massive

0:01:32 > 0:01:36illusion and it's one that will cause mass confusion.

0:01:36 > 0:01:40I'm going to take this one and pop it straight on top here and that's good.

0:01:40 > 0:01:41Good.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45Now, it's obviously very important that because we're using such small

0:01:45 > 0:01:49technology, that we're very accurate with where we place our sensors.

0:01:49 > 0:01:53I'm sensing some magic and I bet Miss Lyne is sensing danger.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Alan, could you come up and help me put on the head and the ankle rest.

0:01:56 > 0:01:57That would be great.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00In fact, if we do the feet first, that would be good.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02Fergus looks like an Alan. Suits him.

0:02:02 > 0:02:06As I said, it's very important that we are very, very accurate

0:02:06 > 0:02:09with how we pinpoint our technology, which is

0:02:09 > 0:02:12why it's important just to slightly restrict the movement...

0:02:12 > 0:02:16Miss Lyne is well and truly secured in that unit. She's going nowhere.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18..allowing us to be very accurate indeed.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20I'm just going to be very careful.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22Is that OK for you, Miss Lyne? OK.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24And if you could just straighten that out.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27Science occasionally needs a human guinea pig but if I was her,

0:02:27 > 0:02:29I'd be having kittens!

0:02:29 > 0:02:31So if we can bring the thermal plates out.

0:02:31 > 0:02:35Now the thermal plates are going to allow us to bisect Miss Lyne.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Whoa, whoa, whoa! Did he just say bisect?

0:02:37 > 0:02:40Surely he's not going to put those through her body!

0:02:40 > 0:02:43This might tickle a bit, as you know. So we're just going to pop that in.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47How is that? Is that OK? ALL: Whoa!

0:02:47 > 0:02:49- Oh, that made me jump.- Yes, yes.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51It's all very good, it's all very good.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54And then we'll take the other plate and do the top half - like this.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58Now the wonderful thing about this is we don't have to use any

0:02:58 > 0:03:02- anaesthesia at all. Just make sure we've got at the- Oh, it's stuck.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05It's a good job James is a doc. Except he isn't.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08Just give that a little pull.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11He pulled her head and it's gone in. Ouch!

0:03:11 > 0:03:14The thermal plates have bisected Miss Lyne in the middle.

0:03:14 > 0:03:18Miss Lyne is split by what James is calling the thermal plates,

0:03:18 > 0:03:21but her body seems OK.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25They're undoing the catches and the catch is that this is magic.

0:03:25 > 0:03:30So therefore, we can completely separate Miss Lyne.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32I can't believe my eyes. I can't believe her legs.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34That is one trick and a half.

0:03:35 > 0:03:40Now, imagine the possibilities of this technology once it's rolled

0:03:40 > 0:03:43out into hospitals all over the country. And are you OK, Miss Lyne?

0:03:43 > 0:03:45- Yes.- Fantastic. Miss Lyne's OK.

0:03:45 > 0:03:49And you can see, we've temporarily bisected you without anaesthesia.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52Isn't that exciting? And Alan, if we could, that would be great.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55Can James ands Fergus keep it together?

0:03:55 > 0:03:57Can he put Miss Lyne back together?

0:03:57 > 0:04:00Fantastic and if you could just pop your hand in there, Miss Lyne,

0:04:00 > 0:04:01that would be great.

0:04:01 > 0:04:05And of course, take the plate at. Plates must come out.

0:04:05 > 0:04:09The plates are out but have the class kept their food down

0:04:09 > 0:04:11at this stomach-wrenching trick?

0:04:11 > 0:04:13Fantastic and I'll take the top off, being very careful.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16And there we go, Miss Lyne, everybody. Isn't she marvellous?

0:04:16 > 0:04:20And I'll just help you up. Hey, there you go.

0:04:20 > 0:04:21Phew! She's good as new.

0:04:21 > 0:04:25And it's about time the class knew the secret.

0:04:25 > 0:04:27As well as the two marvellous things we've shown you,

0:04:27 > 0:04:30we've actually got another thing to tell you.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32This is very, very exciting.

0:04:32 > 0:04:36You are being secretly filmed on cameras hidden here and here,

0:04:36 > 0:04:39and here for CBBC's Help! My School Trip Is Magic!

0:04:44 > 0:04:47The class are cheering in excitement and relief.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49Has it been a great trick? Not half!

0:04:49 > 0:04:53What I really liked was when they separated the lady

0:04:53 > 0:04:57and I was like, "Oh, my gosh!"

0:04:57 > 0:05:00It was absolutely fantastic.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03This school trip had no idea James was a magician.

0:05:03 > 0:05:05How long would it take for you to shout...

0:05:05 > 0:05:09Help! My School Trip Is Magic!
