0:00:02 > 0:00:03It's a brand new term

0:00:03 > 0:00:06and CBBC are sending these four magicians back to school.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09They're pretending to be supply teachers

0:00:09 > 0:00:13so that they can perform amazing magic on unsuspecting classes.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16But because you know and love them,

0:00:16 > 0:00:18this time we've cunningly disguised them.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25Then we hid secret cameras all over classrooms

0:00:25 > 0:00:28and watched as they taught spectacular lessons.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31Went flying around like a magic saucer.

0:00:33 > 0:00:34That was sick!

0:00:36 > 0:00:39It's more magic, it's more outrageous...

0:00:39 > 0:00:40I was just flabbergasted.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43..but how long will it take before the classes shout...

0:00:50 > 0:00:53Hello, it's me, Iain, and we're back to school for a new term.

0:00:53 > 0:00:58It's Help! My Supply Teacher Is Still Magic.

0:00:58 > 0:00:59You could say it's

0:00:59 > 0:01:04- IN DEEP AMERICAN VOICE:- Help! My Supply Teacher is Magic 2.0 - Magic Rebooted.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07Once again we swap regular teachers with magicians

0:01:07 > 0:01:10and because you know them, we've disguised them.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12We've filmed the results with special hidden cameras

0:01:12 > 0:01:14in the classrooms.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18Yeah, we're trickier than an old dog who's been taught two new tricks!

0:01:18 > 0:01:21We're also showing you loads of other great tricks.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23Tricks like this, eh?

0:01:23 > 0:01:26Doesn't get more "magicky" than that, eh?

0:01:26 > 0:01:28Magic key!

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Magic... It's a key and there's magic...

0:01:31 > 0:01:32Just play the clips!

0:01:34 > 0:01:37James has a magical vending machine that makes drinks

0:01:37 > 0:01:40appear from nowhere, but can he get away with it?

0:01:40 > 0:01:44You'll need nine different playing cards or trading cards

0:01:44 > 0:01:46for Fergus's interactive illusion.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49Plus you've been sending in clips of all your best magic tricks,

0:01:49 > 0:01:52and later on I'll be picking my favourite.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Merlin's got nothing on the wannabe wizards, but first...

0:01:56 > 0:02:00Do you think you'd be able to tell if your teacher started doing magic?

0:02:00 > 0:02:02Do you?

0:02:03 > 0:02:04This is James.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07He's a trickster but about to be a teacher again.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12He has an air of mystery and a hair of history -

0:02:12 > 0:02:15because it used to belong to someone else!

0:02:17 > 0:02:18Enter Year Four.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20They don't know it yet, but James is going to take

0:02:20 > 0:02:25a lesson about a new invention that is very inventive with the truth.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28None of them have recognised James or noticed the cameras

0:02:28 > 0:02:31secretly hidden in the classroom, but will James be able

0:02:31 > 0:02:34to keep his identity a secret when the magic begins?

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Good morning, class. I am an inventor.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43Now, what that means is people come to me to solve their problems.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47Now, I did some work recently for a big hotel chain

0:02:47 > 0:02:49and their problem was that in their lobby

0:02:49 > 0:02:52they had a big vending machine that was full of food and drinks,

0:02:52 > 0:02:57but because the hotel was so busy, it meant that it was always empty.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00So they had to call someone in to fill it up and, not only that,

0:03:00 > 0:03:01but to fix it.

0:03:01 > 0:03:07My job was to invent something that was easy to fill, easy to fix

0:03:07 > 0:03:10and, most importantly, very cheap.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12And here's what I came up with.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19Now, this sits on the desk in the hotel lobby

0:03:19 > 0:03:23and will produce objects for clients on request.

0:03:23 > 0:03:25Sounds incredible, eh?

0:03:25 > 0:03:28Now, the best thing about this machine is all the objects

0:03:28 > 0:03:32get made inside, so that means you never have to refill it.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34But at the moment it's empty.

0:03:34 > 0:03:36He's right. That box definitely looks empty.

0:03:36 > 0:03:42But if I touch my key to the side and say "fruit bar",

0:03:42 > 0:03:45I can reach in and get a fruit bar.

0:03:45 > 0:03:46Isn't that great?

0:03:46 > 0:03:48Fruit bar, that's nutty! How did he do that?!

0:03:48 > 0:03:50A real fruit bar.

0:03:50 > 0:03:56It also does multiples. So if I say "two bars of chocolate",

0:03:56 > 0:03:58I can get one bar of chocolate...

0:03:58 > 0:03:59CHILDREN GASP

0:03:59 > 0:04:04..and I can get two bars of chocolate.

0:04:05 > 0:04:09Now, another great thing is, even though it's empty,

0:04:09 > 0:04:13I can even produce drinks. So I'm not just stuck to food.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15So, nothing inside.

0:04:15 > 0:04:19If you say "one drink",

0:04:19 > 0:04:21I can get a drink.

0:04:21 > 0:04:23CHILDREN GASP

0:04:23 > 0:04:25He made the drink appear from nowhere and they've

0:04:25 > 0:04:29swallowed his story, but it's not a real invention, it's a trick!

0:04:29 > 0:04:33So if I go "two drinks", do you know what happens?

0:04:33 > 0:04:34I get two drinks.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36- BOY:- Wow!

0:04:36 > 0:04:39Where is he pulling that stuff from?!

0:04:39 > 0:04:41It can even get drinks of different size,

0:04:41 > 0:04:46so if I say "one large drink",

0:04:46 > 0:04:50I can reach in and get one large drink.

0:04:50 > 0:04:53If he really invented that machine, he could make a mint!

0:04:53 > 0:04:56Except he's going to make more drink.

0:04:56 > 0:05:02I can even do size and multiples, so I can go "two large drinks",

0:05:02 > 0:05:06and get one, two large drinks.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10I can even do combinations, so if I say...

0:05:12 > 0:05:14.."two bars of chocolate and a drink",

0:05:14 > 0:05:22I can get one, two bars of chocolate and a drink.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24Isn't that great?

0:05:24 > 0:05:28Whoa, this gets better! It's a TARDIS of a vending machine!

0:05:28 > 0:05:31CHILDREN GASP

0:05:31 > 0:05:33Oh yes, it's a real drink.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36The class are lapping it up but it's not over yet.

0:05:36 > 0:05:39I can even do multiples of different sizes,

0:05:39 > 0:05:44so I could say "two small drinks and one large drink".

0:05:44 > 0:05:48Touch the room key to the side, and I get two small drinks

0:05:48 > 0:05:51and one large drink.

0:05:51 > 0:05:53Isn't that great?

0:05:53 > 0:05:56They like this lesson. They want that invention -

0:05:56 > 0:05:58if only it were real!

0:05:58 > 0:06:00"Two large drinks."

0:06:00 > 0:06:05One, two large drinks.

0:06:05 > 0:06:07CHILDREN APPLAUD

0:06:07 > 0:06:09They don't know he's a magician, but they would like for him

0:06:09 > 0:06:11to share the love with that food and drink.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14I forgot to show you my favourite part.

0:06:14 > 0:06:19Let's say, for example, that you were in a hotel with all your family

0:06:19 > 0:06:22and you have to get drinks for everybody.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25Now even though this is a really small box,

0:06:25 > 0:06:29it can still produce as many drinks as I need.

0:06:29 > 0:06:33So if I say "six drinks", I can get

0:06:33 > 0:06:40one, two, three, four,

0:06:40 > 0:06:46five, six drinks.

0:06:46 > 0:06:48Unbelievable!

0:06:48 > 0:06:51But just wait till they get a load of the big magical secret.

0:06:51 > 0:06:54Now that you've seen my machine work, would you like me to

0:06:54 > 0:06:56tell you the secret as to how I designed it?

0:06:56 > 0:06:58- CHILDREN:- Yes!

0:06:58 > 0:07:02Well, the secret is I'm not really an inventor.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04But I do invent things.

0:07:04 > 0:07:07It's just I invent magic tricks.

0:07:07 > 0:07:09Because I'm a magician,

0:07:09 > 0:07:12and all your teachers know I'm a magician,

0:07:12 > 0:07:14and all your parents know I'm a magician,

0:07:14 > 0:07:16and you are being secretly filmed

0:07:16 > 0:07:18on cameras here, and at the back,

0:07:18 > 0:07:20and here.

0:07:20 > 0:07:24You're all going to be on Help! My Supply Teacher Is Magic on CBBC!

0:07:24 > 0:07:26CHILDREN LAUGH

0:07:27 > 0:07:30It's been a snack-packed trick by James.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Did it leave the class eating out of his hands?

0:07:35 > 0:07:38I thought it was really good and I don't know how he did it.

0:07:38 > 0:07:40It looked so real.

0:07:40 > 0:07:41I can reach in...

0:07:41 > 0:07:45It was real! The empty box turned into a vending machine!

0:07:45 > 0:07:46Real fruit bar.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50He just put this card on the thing and it just...

0:07:50 > 0:07:54And he talked what he wanted to do and it just came out.

0:07:54 > 0:07:56There were so many snacks and drinks,

0:07:56 > 0:07:59James could start his own shop!

0:07:59 > 0:08:02My favourite bit was when he started getting all the drinks out,

0:08:02 > 0:08:05and we were all really shocked.

0:08:05 > 0:08:07It was shocking, but how did he do it?

0:08:08 > 0:08:10..six drinks.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12I think it was just real magic.

0:08:13 > 0:08:17An incredible trick, and the class had no idea James was a magician.

0:08:17 > 0:08:19How long would it take for you to shout...

0:08:25 > 0:08:27Later, you'll see what happened

0:08:27 > 0:08:30when Katherine went undercover at another school.

0:08:30 > 0:08:35You won't believe it when you see - or, er, don't see - her handy magic.

0:08:35 > 0:08:36Isn't that cool?

0:08:36 > 0:08:38But right now Katherine's playing her cards right

0:08:38 > 0:08:41up close and magical.

0:08:41 > 0:08:44Now, a lot of people ask me, because I'm a magician, they say to me,

0:08:44 > 0:08:46"How do you get to be good at magic?"

0:08:46 > 0:08:48And it's a lot like playing an instrument,

0:08:48 > 0:08:50You just have to practise, practise, practise all the time.

0:08:50 > 0:08:53and I practise with a deck of playing cards,

0:08:53 > 0:08:55and I've been practising three moves.

0:08:55 > 0:08:57I want to show you those moves, I want you to tell me

0:08:57 > 0:08:59if you can see anything, OK?

0:08:59 > 0:09:03So I've got here the four aces - the ace of clubs,

0:09:03 > 0:09:06the ace of diamonds, the ace of hearts and the ace of spades.

0:09:06 > 0:09:09Now for this, it's really important that all the aces are turned

0:09:09 > 0:09:12face down like that, and I want you to watch the move.

0:09:15 > 0:09:17- This is it, did you see anything? - No.

0:09:17 > 0:09:21Nothing? Just spun the cards around, didn't I, but nothing else.

0:09:21 > 0:09:23That's what it looks like but actually what I did was

0:09:23 > 0:09:28I turned one of the aces face up, the ace of hearts.

0:09:31 > 0:09:34Now, if I spin it again, I'm turning the ace of hearts face down

0:09:34 > 0:09:38and this time, I'm turning the ace of clubs face up...

0:09:38 > 0:09:41Doesn't seem possible.

0:09:41 > 0:09:43..like that.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45I'm going to show you the spin one last time, so...

0:09:45 > 0:09:47Did you see anything happen?

0:09:47 > 0:09:49No.

0:09:49 > 0:09:52That's the ace of clubs turning face down

0:09:52 > 0:09:56and that was the ace of diamonds turning face up.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59She flipped the cards again without them seeing!

0:09:59 > 0:10:02Now, the only ace I haven't done this to is the ace of spades, but

0:10:02 > 0:10:04I'm going to do something a little bit more special

0:10:04 > 0:10:05with the ace of spades.

0:10:05 > 0:10:09What I'm going to attempt to do is make all three aces turn

0:10:09 > 0:10:11up at the same time.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14That'll be a turn up for the books - or the cards!

0:10:14 > 0:10:18You ready? One, two, three.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20You see, they've all turned face up.

0:10:22 > 0:10:24Now I've got one more move to show you.

0:10:24 > 0:10:28I'm going to attempt to change all of these aces into different

0:10:28 > 0:10:31cards right in front of you. OK, you ready?

0:10:31 > 0:10:32Yeah.

0:10:32 > 0:10:36One, two, three.

0:10:36 > 0:10:38- Did you see it happen?- No.

0:10:38 > 0:10:40- You didn't see anything happen? Nothing changed?- No.

0:10:40 > 0:10:42Hold your hands out flat for me.

0:10:42 > 0:10:45Now, the reasons you didn't see it change is because it's not the

0:10:45 > 0:10:51faces that have changed, it's the backs that have all changed colour.

0:10:52 > 0:10:53Oh, my God!

0:10:53 > 0:10:56Didn't see that coming - nor did they!

0:10:56 > 0:10:58Oh, that's scary!

0:10:58 > 0:11:01I thought that trick was amazing.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04She was changing the cards and then, like...

0:11:04 > 0:11:07- She flipped them over and they were a different colour!- Yeah!

0:11:07 > 0:11:10Next, James is going to set you a magical challenge in...

0:11:11 > 0:11:13If you fancy yourself as a magician,

0:11:13 > 0:11:16here's a trick you can try on your mates.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19James has got a balloon and two plastic beakers.

0:11:20 > 0:11:24He's going to show you how to lift the two beakers off the table

0:11:24 > 0:11:28at the same time using the balloon held only at its end.

0:11:28 > 0:11:30Can you work out how to do it?

0:11:30 > 0:11:34Keep watching and you'll find out later in the show.

0:11:34 > 0:11:36It's going to be incredible.

0:11:37 > 0:11:39Right now we have something amazing for you.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42This is the Interactive Illusion.

0:11:42 > 0:11:44This is a trick where you can take part at home.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47So, come on, you can pay close attention. So get over here.

0:11:47 > 0:11:49It's time to huddle round the telly rugby-style

0:11:49 > 0:11:53and take part in the trick. Come on, scrum in! Hop, hop!

0:11:53 > 0:11:54I think that's what they say.

0:11:54 > 0:11:55Go, Fergus!

0:11:57 > 0:12:01Remember, you'll need nine different cards, so get them ready now.

0:12:01 > 0:12:03Take a deck of cards or trading cards -

0:12:03 > 0:12:06as long as they are all different, the trick will work.

0:12:06 > 0:12:09Remove nine cards, that's all we're going to use.

0:12:09 > 0:12:12You can put the rest of the cards to one side.

0:12:12 > 0:12:15Good. Now mix up the cards in your hands.

0:12:18 > 0:12:23Fantastic! Once you've done that, turn the packet face down.

0:12:23 > 0:12:27With the packet squared I want you to look at the bottom card.

0:12:27 > 0:12:30This will be your card - mine's the four of hearts,

0:12:30 > 0:12:32but yours will be different.

0:12:32 > 0:12:34Of course, as long as it's on the bottom of the packet

0:12:34 > 0:12:38it's easy to find, so I'm going to have you mix the cards,

0:12:38 > 0:12:41but we'll do it in a specific way.

0:12:41 > 0:12:44I want you to think of a secret word,

0:12:44 > 0:12:47any word with less than nine letters.

0:12:47 > 0:12:49It could be a friend's name, a pet's name.

0:12:49 > 0:12:53I don't want you to say it out loud, just remember it.

0:12:53 > 0:12:55Now hold the cards face down.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58I want you to spell the secret word in your head,

0:12:58 > 0:13:01dealing one card on the table for each letter.

0:13:01 > 0:13:05For example, if you'd thought of the word "dog", you'd deal

0:13:05 > 0:13:08three cards, one at a time on top of the other, spelling, D-O-G.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14So do that now, spelling your own secret words

0:13:14 > 0:13:18and dealing the cards face down in a pile on the table.

0:13:21 > 0:13:25Good! You probably have some cards left in your hand.

0:13:25 > 0:13:28If you do, just drop them on top of the cards on the table,

0:13:28 > 0:13:31and pick up the whole packet again.

0:13:32 > 0:13:36Great! We're going to mix them up again,

0:13:36 > 0:13:39and I don't want you to know how they're getting mixed.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41This time I want you to spell the word "my".

0:13:43 > 0:13:46Deal two cards onto the table for M-Y

0:13:46 > 0:13:51and drop the rest of the cards on top, just as you did before.

0:13:51 > 0:13:55Now pick up the packet, you're going to spell the word "password".

0:13:55 > 0:13:57Deal the cards down in the pile,

0:13:57 > 0:13:59one for each letter, spelling with me,

0:13:59 > 0:14:03P-A-S-S-

0:14:03 > 0:14:08W-O-R-D.

0:14:08 > 0:14:12Drop the extra card on top, then pick them all up.

0:14:13 > 0:14:19Now we'll spell "is". Deal two cards down, I-S.

0:14:19 > 0:14:22Drop the rest of the cards on top and pick them all up.

0:14:24 > 0:14:27You just spelled "My password is".

0:14:28 > 0:14:31Those were words that I told you to use,

0:14:31 > 0:14:35but now I want you to use your own personal secret word again.

0:14:35 > 0:14:41Spell your secret word one more time, dealing cards on the table.

0:14:41 > 0:14:45D-O-G was mine.

0:14:45 > 0:14:49Place the rest of the cards on top.

0:14:49 > 0:14:50Fantastic!

0:14:50 > 0:14:54Instead of guessing, I'm going to tell you exactly where your card is

0:14:54 > 0:14:58because I think I've worked out your secret word.

0:15:01 > 0:15:03Turn over the top card of your packet

0:15:03 > 0:15:06and that's your selected card!

0:15:06 > 0:15:08Did it work for you?

0:15:08 > 0:15:12Here's magical James with his cards up close to his chest.

0:15:12 > 0:15:14I want to show you a fantastic card trick, OK?

0:15:14 > 0:15:17So, Uriah, what I'm going to do is if I run my thumb down the side

0:15:17 > 0:15:21of the deck, what I'd like you to do is just say stop.

0:15:21 > 0:15:23- Stop!- There? Exactly there? OK.

0:15:23 > 0:15:25And take the card and show Mum,

0:15:25 > 0:15:29and show everybody at home on the cameras, make sure everybody sees it.

0:15:29 > 0:15:31It's the five of clubs.

0:15:31 > 0:15:33Perfect, and if I take that back...

0:15:33 > 0:15:35Yep, that's fine, it doesn't matter if I see.

0:15:35 > 0:15:38In fact, why don't we make this a little bit more personalised

0:15:38 > 0:15:41and, Uriah, if you'd just write your name just on that card.

0:15:41 > 0:15:43If you take the pen, just write your name across there

0:15:43 > 0:15:45or initial it or mark it some way.

0:15:46 > 0:15:48Good work!

0:15:48 > 0:15:52Excellent, good stuff. And if I take my pen back...

0:15:52 > 0:15:54OK, so you've marked this card now,

0:15:54 > 0:15:56so you'd recognise it if you saw it again.

0:15:56 > 0:15:59Now we're going to lose your card in about the middle of the deck, OK?

0:15:59 > 0:16:02If you can push that in for me.

0:16:02 > 0:16:06Perfect. Now think about this, if I went through the deck at this point

0:16:06 > 0:16:09and found your card, it wouldn't be that great because

0:16:09 > 0:16:12not only did I see it, but you also wrote your name on the face.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14- Correct?- Yeah.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17So why don't we make this even more difficult

0:16:17 > 0:16:20and put the cards inside the box like so?

0:16:22 > 0:16:24Like that, and you can take the box.

0:16:25 > 0:16:29Now, if I would be able to find your card now it would be impossible,

0:16:29 > 0:16:31- would it not?- Yes.- Yeah.

0:16:31 > 0:16:37Now, you've probably noticed this card in the middle of my chest.

0:16:37 > 0:16:39Now, if this card from another deck was the same

0:16:39 > 0:16:42colour as your card, that would be OK.

0:16:43 > 0:16:46If it were the same suit, it might just be a coincidence,

0:16:46 > 0:16:50but if this card from another deck was exactly the same

0:16:50 > 0:16:52card as the one you just picked,

0:16:52 > 0:16:57that would be almost impossible, but it wouldn't be impossible.

0:16:57 > 0:17:00What would make it impossible is if I'd reach up

0:17:00 > 0:17:05and unpin this card, and it was the one with your name on it.

0:17:05 > 0:17:07- How?!- You can take that.

0:17:07 > 0:17:10How did he get Uriah's signed card from the sealed deck

0:17:10 > 0:17:12and onto his top?

0:17:12 > 0:17:13I don't believe it!

0:17:14 > 0:17:20He made my card that I wrote my name on, on his chest,

0:17:20 > 0:17:24and that looked a little bit shocking.

0:17:24 > 0:17:27Unpin this card, and it was the one...

0:17:27 > 0:17:29I thought there were, like, two the same.

0:17:31 > 0:17:32Shocked me into pieces!

0:17:33 > 0:17:36Wow! Well, the quantity of the magic is exhausting

0:17:36 > 0:17:38and the quality has been intense -

0:17:38 > 0:17:41so intense it's made my ears pop.

0:17:41 > 0:17:43POPPING NOISE

0:17:43 > 0:17:45So I feel like I've well and truly earned a sit down.

0:17:45 > 0:17:49But before I do, let's have a look at what's coming up.

0:17:49 > 0:17:51It's all kinds of ridiculousness.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54John's stretching the truth with a rubber band trick

0:17:54 > 0:17:56Up Close And Magical,

0:17:56 > 0:17:59James reveals his secret in Tricks Of The Trade -

0:17:59 > 0:18:02have you worked it out yet?

0:18:02 > 0:18:05And watch what happens when Katherine goes under cover

0:18:05 > 0:18:06in another school.

0:18:06 > 0:18:07Will she fool the class,

0:18:07 > 0:18:10or will they realise their supply teacher is still magic?

0:18:11 > 0:18:15Hoo! Each week I'm bringing you another of my new favourite

0:18:15 > 0:18:18magic movers and shakers doing tricks in their own cribs,

0:18:18 > 0:18:19yards and front rooms.

0:18:19 > 0:18:22We call them the Wannabe Wizards.

0:18:22 > 0:18:26So I've got my comfy chair, I've got my computer to watch the magic on

0:18:26 > 0:18:29and I've even brought my own sound effects.

0:18:29 > 0:18:32PARP!

0:18:32 > 0:18:33Let's do this already!

0:18:35 > 0:18:38We asked you to send in clips of yourself performing your best

0:18:38 > 0:18:39magic tricks.

0:18:39 > 0:18:43We received loads of clips from all over the country.

0:18:43 > 0:18:45Each episode I'll be choosing a favourite Wannabe Wizard

0:18:45 > 0:18:47and showing them to you guys.

0:18:47 > 0:18:50My Wannabe Wizard this time is Atticus from Yeovil.

0:18:50 > 0:18:55He was in the first series, but he's back with an uncanny coin trick.

0:18:55 > 0:19:01Hi, I'm going to show you a trick with one, two, three, four coins.

0:19:01 > 0:19:07I'm also going to use one, two, three, four cards.

0:19:08 > 0:19:12I'm going to cover up the coins with the cards, just like this, OK?

0:19:12 > 0:19:17So I've got one coin here, one coin here,

0:19:17 > 0:19:18but if I just cover them up...

0:19:20 > 0:19:21Ker-ching!

0:19:21 > 0:19:25..the coins vanish and reappear from here.

0:19:25 > 0:19:28So I'm going to do it once more.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31I've got one coin here, two coins here and if I...

0:19:34 > 0:19:38..cover them up, they disappear and reappear on here.

0:19:38 > 0:19:41He made another coin jump and now there's three together!

0:19:42 > 0:19:44For our last one, this is the hardest one

0:19:44 > 0:19:46so I'm going to do it a bit slower,

0:19:46 > 0:19:49We've got three coins here and we've got one coin here.

0:19:49 > 0:19:56If I just click my fingers, the coin vanishes and appears back over here.

0:19:56 > 0:20:01We've got one, two, three, four coins.

0:20:01 > 0:20:03Thank you very much, I hope you enjoyed it.

0:20:03 > 0:20:07We did enjoy the four coin trick from our two-time Wannabe Wizard.

0:20:08 > 0:20:12Next up, it's James to reveal the secret in Tricks Of The Trade.

0:20:13 > 0:20:17James will show you how to lift two plastic beakers off a table

0:20:17 > 0:20:20at the same time using a balloon held only at its end.

0:20:20 > 0:20:23Come on, have you worked it out?

0:20:24 > 0:20:26How many of you got it?

0:20:26 > 0:20:27Do you inflate the balloon

0:20:27 > 0:20:30and charge it with static electricity to pick up the beakers?

0:20:32 > 0:20:34No, of course not!

0:20:34 > 0:20:37Can we get another balloon, please?

0:20:37 > 0:20:41Put the balloon in your mouth and hold the beakers like this.

0:20:41 > 0:20:44Inflate the balloon, pushing the beakers against it.

0:20:44 > 0:20:47As it fills with air, the balloons expand into the cups

0:20:47 > 0:20:50and creates enough grip to lift them off the table.

0:20:51 > 0:20:54Did you get it? Are you amazing already?

0:20:55 > 0:20:58Now you've all got something you'll be bursting to show your mates!

0:21:00 > 0:21:01Next John is at a car museum getting...

0:21:04 > 0:21:05- Hello, how are you?- I'm fine.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08Good, good, good. Sorry I'm a bit late, I had trouble parking.

0:21:08 > 0:21:09That's not mine!

0:21:09 > 0:21:12I'll show you a trick with some of these, do you know what those are?

0:21:12 > 0:21:13- Bands?- Hair bands?

0:21:13 > 0:21:16This trick coming up is banned in 50 countries -

0:21:16 > 0:21:17rubber band, that is!

0:21:17 > 0:21:20Would you take that elastic band and check that it stretches?

0:21:20 > 0:21:22That's what you do with elastic bands, stretch them.

0:21:22 > 0:21:24Do you know what?

0:21:24 > 0:21:27They're very difficult to compress - that means to squeeze in a ball.

0:21:27 > 0:21:30Have a go and try and squeeze that into a ball with your fingers, Faye.

0:21:30 > 0:21:32It's really hard to get it into a little ball.

0:21:32 > 0:21:34Try and scrunch it up. You can't do it, can you?

0:21:34 > 0:21:35No. Unless you're a magician.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38I'll going to scrunch mine up, and watch how small

0:21:38 > 0:21:40I can get this elastic band just by scrunching it up.

0:21:40 > 0:21:42I just scrunch it like this and scrunch it.

0:21:42 > 0:21:46It gets smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller.

0:21:46 > 0:21:50In fact, I'll squeeze it up with this hand, it gets smaller and smaller

0:21:50 > 0:21:53and smaller, so small...

0:21:53 > 0:21:57that it actually vanishes.

0:21:57 > 0:21:59Incredible! But I know what you're thinking,

0:21:59 > 0:22:01"It can't really vanish."

0:22:01 > 0:22:03But as well as stretching and squeezing,

0:22:03 > 0:22:05elastic bands can do something else.

0:22:05 > 0:22:06Do you know what else?

0:22:06 > 0:22:09They can jump, and it actually jumped.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11- Do you know where it jumped?- No.

0:22:11 > 0:22:15Onto your left shoulder.

0:22:15 > 0:22:19Oh, my God! That's amazing!

0:22:19 > 0:22:21How did you do that?

0:22:21 > 0:22:23I don't know, but I'm so glad you've asked!

0:22:23 > 0:22:26I'm so glad you've asked. It makes me feel special!

0:22:26 > 0:22:30She's made John's day and John's made theirs. Magical job done!

0:22:30 > 0:22:33I'm going to go off and buy another car!

0:22:34 > 0:22:36He curled it into a ball

0:22:36 > 0:22:40and then it bounced onto Anna's shoulder.

0:22:40 > 0:22:44I was shocked, I didn't feel anything and it was amazing.

0:22:44 > 0:22:45That trick's going down in history.

0:22:47 > 0:22:50Here's a bit of history for you. It's "magicky!"

0:22:50 > 0:22:52Magic key.

0:22:52 > 0:22:54Do you remember that classic from earlier?

0:22:54 > 0:22:55This is Katherine.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58She's a magician with the je ne sais quoi.

0:22:58 > 0:23:00I don't know what that means, but it sounds good.

0:23:00 > 0:23:04The disguise is on, the hidden cameras are set.

0:23:05 > 0:23:08- BELL RINGS - Enter Year Five.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11They don't know it yet, but Katherine's about to give them

0:23:11 > 0:23:15a class about refraction that should get a great reaction.

0:23:15 > 0:23:19None of the class have noticed the cameras or recognised Katherine.

0:23:19 > 0:23:21Will she be able to keep it up,

0:23:21 > 0:23:24or will they see right through her invisibility trick?

0:23:27 > 0:23:29- Hello, everybody! - CHILDREN:- Hello!

0:23:29 > 0:23:31I'm going to be taking your science lesson today,

0:23:31 > 0:23:36and we're learning all about light and refraction.

0:23:36 > 0:23:40Now, refraction is when light changes direction...

0:23:40 > 0:23:43Katherine's got their attention with talk of refraction,

0:23:43 > 0:23:46but soon she's going to go "boom" and hit them with the trick.

0:23:46 > 0:23:49Now, scientists have been doing something pretty amazing

0:23:49 > 0:23:50with this refraction.

0:23:50 > 0:23:54They're actually making things look invisible.

0:23:54 > 0:23:56- CHILDREN:- Wow!

0:23:56 > 0:23:58Invisible?! This I have to see!

0:23:58 > 0:24:00Now, you've all seen on films and on TV

0:24:00 > 0:24:04when people have invisibility cloaks or their superpowers make them

0:24:04 > 0:24:08be invisible? Well, that's exactly what they're trying to recreate.

0:24:08 > 0:24:12At the moment it's still early days, so it only works on small things,

0:24:12 > 0:24:15or on parts of the body as opposed to your entire body, OK?

0:24:15 > 0:24:17So would you like to see it?

0:24:17 > 0:24:18- CHILDREN:- Yes.

0:24:18 > 0:24:22Yeah? Well, here it is, the invisibility machine.

0:24:23 > 0:24:25- CHILDREN:- Whoa!

0:24:25 > 0:24:27I second that - whoa!

0:24:27 > 0:24:29I've actually been lucky enough to try this out yesterday,

0:24:29 > 0:24:32and it does make things turn invisible.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34Would you like to see it work?

0:24:34 > 0:24:35- CHILDREN:- Yes!

0:24:35 > 0:24:38Yeah? OK, so let's turn it on first.

0:24:38 > 0:24:41There we go. And I'm going to roll back my sleeves,

0:24:41 > 0:24:44because it's important that there's nothing on my arm.

0:24:45 > 0:24:50Now, if I just put my arm all the way in the invisible machine

0:24:50 > 0:24:51like this...

0:24:51 > 0:24:54Don't worry, that machine's harmless.

0:24:54 > 0:24:56And soon Katherine's going to be pretty arm-less!

0:24:56 > 0:25:00You can see my arm inside. Can everyone see my arm?

0:25:00 > 0:25:02- CHILDREN:- Yes.

0:25:02 > 0:25:06Yeah? Now, behind this middle door, my arm has turned invisible.

0:25:07 > 0:25:09Would you like to see it? Yeah?

0:25:09 > 0:25:13OK, here it is. My arm is invisible.

0:25:13 > 0:25:15- CHILDREN:- Whoa! - Isn't that cool?

0:25:15 > 0:25:17CHILD: That's amazing!

0:25:17 > 0:25:18- CHILD:- How did you do that?

0:25:18 > 0:25:20Well, that's not the only thing.

0:25:20 > 0:25:22Not only has it turned invisible,

0:25:22 > 0:25:27it actually temporarily disperses all the molecules in my arm. Watch.

0:25:27 > 0:25:31I can actually put my left arm all the way through

0:25:31 > 0:25:33my right arm, like that!

0:25:33 > 0:25:35CHILD: That's freaky!

0:25:35 > 0:25:38Isn't that cool? It's mad. It's amazing, isn't it?

0:25:38 > 0:25:41Now it does feel a little bit strange on my arm,

0:25:41 > 0:25:42so I'm going to take my arm out.

0:25:44 > 0:25:46There we go. And switch it off.

0:25:46 > 0:25:50Katherine's taken her arm out, but can this class handle the truth?

0:25:50 > 0:25:54Now, I'm going to tell you a secret.

0:25:54 > 0:25:57I'm not actually a real teacher.

0:25:57 > 0:26:02In fact, I'm a magician, and all of you have been set up

0:26:02 > 0:26:06by your parents and your teachers to be on

0:26:06 > 0:26:10Help! My Supply Teacher Is Magic. And there's a camera over there,

0:26:10 > 0:26:14and there's a camera over there, and there's a camera over there.

0:26:14 > 0:26:18Katherine's invisibility trick has visibly rocked it,

0:26:18 > 0:26:21but how did the class reflect on their lesson?

0:26:21 > 0:26:24There was an invisibility machine, which the teacher convinced me

0:26:24 > 0:26:27that scientists invented it.

0:26:27 > 0:26:28Didn't feel real.

0:26:28 > 0:26:31It felt like I was sleeping, in a dream.

0:26:31 > 0:26:34They weren't dreaming. Katherine really did open their minds,

0:26:34 > 0:26:36open the door and open up her arm.

0:26:37 > 0:26:40When she put her hand into the machine,

0:26:40 > 0:26:43it felt really, extremely creepy.

0:26:43 > 0:26:44It was really, really cool.

0:26:44 > 0:26:48I mean, when it was invisible I just felt like fainting.

0:26:48 > 0:26:51Even if they were feeling faint, Katherine was ready to lend a hand.

0:26:53 > 0:26:55I just couldn't believe that that was happening,

0:26:55 > 0:26:59and when she put her other arm through it, that was weird.

0:26:59 > 0:27:01Epic!

0:27:02 > 0:27:06An incredible trick, and this class didn't realise...

0:27:13 > 0:27:16See you later but, until then, if you're at school and you think

0:27:16 > 0:27:19something magical's occurring, maybe you'll find yourself shouting,

0:27:19 > 0:27:23"Help! My Supply Teacher Is Still Magic!"
