0:01:58 > 0:02:01Will you be one of my wannabe wizards?

0:02:01 > 0:02:05Do you think you'd be able to tell if your teacher started doing magic?

0:02:05 > 0:02:09This is Katherine, magician extraordinaire.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12She's got mad skills and she's going to use them

0:02:12 > 0:02:15undercover as a supply teacher.

0:02:17 > 0:02:23The hidden cameras are set. Is it your school? Is it your class?

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Let's find out. Here's a year five class.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29Catherine's about to give them a lesson in gravity

0:02:29 > 0:02:32that will have them leaping out of their seats

0:02:32 > 0:02:35quicker than if they'd just smelt one and dealt one.

0:02:35 > 0:02:40The class doesn't suspect there are cameras hidden in every corner

0:02:40 > 0:02:43or that Catherine is not a real teacher.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47The woman in green is Ms Noonan, the class teaching assistant.

0:02:47 > 0:02:51She's going to be the star of this trick.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53Good job she's done her hair!

0:02:53 > 0:02:59- Good afternoon, everybody. - ALL: Good afternoon, Miss Mills.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01We're going to be learning about gravity.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05Gravity can be described as a force that pulls any object

0:03:05 > 0:03:09or anything you can touch towards the centre of the earth.

0:03:09 > 0:03:14- So gravity is what stops things from floating.- That bit is 100% true.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17When I was a little girl, I absolutely loved science.

0:03:17 > 0:03:21So much so, I went on to go and study it at university

0:03:21 > 0:03:23before I started to train to be a teacher.

0:03:23 > 0:03:28And what I made...was this.

0:03:29 > 0:03:35Which is an antigravity device. It can actually make things float.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38I had an antigravity device once. It floated away!

0:03:38 > 0:03:40To start with,

0:03:40 > 0:03:44we're going to try on something small like this pencil.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47Let's switch on and turn the power up.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50Trick coming up right now. Watch closely

0:03:50 > 0:03:53and grip tightly onto your sofa in case you float away.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55And the pencil should...

0:03:57 > 0:03:59..float.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01Isn't that incredible?

0:04:01 > 0:04:04They're gobsmacked! They can't believe it!

0:04:04 > 0:04:08The pencil is actually floating.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12If I turn this up, the power,

0:04:12 > 0:04:16we can actually move the pencil up higher.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Isn't that incredible?

0:04:22 > 0:04:24None of the class suspects a thing.

0:04:24 > 0:04:29Loving your work, Catherine, big style. Great floating pencil.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31But can you make anything bigger float?

0:04:31 > 0:04:35So, let's have a go with something a bit bigger.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39Has anyone got a bag in the classroom?

0:04:39 > 0:04:41Nice try with the cushion, mate!

0:04:41 > 0:04:44What I want is actually a bag.

0:04:44 > 0:04:47I can see a bag by your feet, Ms Noonan. There we go.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51Can we use your bag for this? That would be brilliant.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Here she comes. Miss Noonan, the teaching assistant,

0:04:54 > 0:04:58is about to become a magician's assistant.

0:04:58 > 0:05:01She knows something strange is going to happen

0:05:01 > 0:05:05but she doesn't know she's preparing for lift-off.

0:05:05 > 0:05:07She looks nervous. I would too!

0:05:07 > 0:05:11What we're going to do is make Ms Noonan's bag float.

0:05:13 > 0:05:15This girl can't wait, can she?

0:05:15 > 0:05:19What we're going to do first of all

0:05:19 > 0:05:24is point the antigravity device at the bag.

0:05:24 > 0:05:27So, we're going to have to switch on again.

0:05:27 > 0:05:30When I turn the power up, it can make a bit of noise.

0:05:31 > 0:05:35Something magic is happening. Watch her feet very closely.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37They're about to leave the floor.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40- There we go.- I can't believe it!

0:05:40 > 0:05:44It's not just her bag floating, she is rising out of her chair!

0:05:44 > 0:05:49I bet the class didn't realise this was going to be a flying lesson!

0:05:49 > 0:05:52Don't worry. I'm going to turn it down.

0:05:52 > 0:05:57Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a teaching assistant!

0:06:01 > 0:06:03Everybody settle down a little bit.

0:06:03 > 0:06:07Obviously, the power was too strong for Ms Noonan.

0:06:07 > 0:06:11Thank you very much for helping us out. You can sit down again.

0:06:11 > 0:06:15The whole class is floating with the antigravity trick.

0:06:15 > 0:06:19But will they raise the roof when Catherine tells them the truth?

0:06:19 > 0:06:21Do you want to hear something?

0:06:21 > 0:06:25This is not actually an antigravity device.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29That was a magic trick. I'm not even a real teacher.

0:06:29 > 0:06:32I'm a magician and if you look over there,

0:06:32 > 0:06:35there's a camera over there and over there

0:06:35 > 0:06:39and there's a camera over there.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42The running man! That's pretty magical!

0:06:42 > 0:06:45She did it! Catherine totally tricked the class.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49When I saw the science teacher, I was like, "Oh, boring, science."

0:06:49 > 0:06:53Then, when I saw the antigravity, I thought, "Cool."

0:06:53 > 0:06:57First, Catherine had the pencil floating.

0:06:57 > 0:06:59It acts as if it was in space.

0:06:59 > 0:07:02I thought it was cool. Anybody could fall for it.

0:07:02 > 0:07:07Then she even had the teaching assistant way up in the air.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11I thought our teacher was actually flying!

0:07:11 > 0:07:15Catherine pulled it off! The class had no idea she was a magician.

0:07:15 > 0:07:19Would you realise your supply teacher was magic?

0:07:19 > 0:07:22Help! My supply teacher is magic!

0:07:23 > 0:07:28Later, Fergus will also be going undercover as a supply teacher.

0:07:28 > 0:07:33He'll make this class' jaws drop to the floor. Is this your class?

0:07:33 > 0:07:36Of course, Fergus is not a real teacher.

0:07:36 > 0:07:40He's an amazing magician. with incredible skills.

0:07:40 > 0:07:44He's going to teach you the secret behind the trick

0:07:44 > 0:07:48you can use on your mates to melt their minds.

0:07:48 > 0:07:52If you fancy yourself as a magician, here's a trick you can try.

0:07:52 > 0:07:57You need one apple, two cups and a piece of paper.

0:07:57 > 0:07:59Go and get them now. Hurry up!

0:07:59 > 0:08:05In the meantime, here's Fergus doing some juggling. Are you back? Good.

0:08:05 > 0:08:08Come on Fergus, less juggling, more magic.

0:08:08 > 0:08:11Do you know how to balance an apple on a piece of paper

0:08:11 > 0:08:13between two cups?

0:08:13 > 0:08:17Keep watching and you'll find out later in the show.

0:08:17 > 0:08:21Now, Catherine is about to flex her magical muscles in the park

0:08:21 > 0:08:25and do a trick you'll never be able to work out.

0:08:25 > 0:08:27- Would you like to see some magic? - Yes.

0:08:27 > 0:08:29This is Ludo and Esme.

0:08:29 > 0:08:33They think they're about to take a walk with their mum in the park.

0:08:33 > 0:08:37They've no idea they're about to star in their own magic show.

0:08:37 > 0:08:40I need a ring. Does anyone have a ring I could use?

0:08:40 > 0:08:44- You can have one of these. - You're OK if I take this, yeah?

0:08:44 > 0:08:48- Is it special to you? - I've had it a very long time.- OK.

0:08:48 > 0:08:53What I want you to do is keep your eye on your ring the whole time.

0:08:53 > 0:08:55I'm so confident that this is going to work,

0:08:55 > 0:08:58I'm going to give you the keys to my car.

0:08:58 > 0:09:01She's so cheeky. She doesn't even have a car!

0:09:01 > 0:09:06So you can keep them if this all goes wrong. Just follow your ring.

0:09:06 > 0:09:08As it completely...

0:09:09 > 0:09:11..vanishes.

0:09:11 > 0:09:15The ring is gone! Where is it? Let's see that again.

0:09:16 > 0:09:17As it completely...

0:09:17 > 0:09:19vanishes.

0:09:19 > 0:09:22Still great. Nice work, Catherine.

0:09:22 > 0:09:25If you open up your hand there.

0:09:25 > 0:09:27Amongst the keys.

0:09:27 > 0:09:29Is that the ring?

0:09:31 > 0:09:34- There you go.- Brilliant! - Thanks, guys.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36It was cool.

0:09:36 > 0:09:39She just took the ring, put it in her hand

0:09:39 > 0:09:42and then opened it and it wasn't there.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44It appeared on the keys.

0:09:44 > 0:09:49- It was cool.- It was just, "Wow, how do you do that?!"

0:09:49 > 0:09:51Coming up, another trick

0:09:51 > 0:09:55that will leave the public saying, "That was awesome."

0:09:55 > 0:09:59But right now, we have something amazing for you.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01This is the interactive illusion.

0:10:01 > 0:10:04This is a trick where you can take part at home.

0:10:04 > 0:10:07So come on, get right up next to the television

0:10:07 > 0:10:10until you are close enough to touch the screen.

0:10:10 > 0:10:14Could you wipe the chocolate off your hands? This is a new top.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17Are you ready? All right. Here's John.

0:10:17 > 0:10:23He's a friendly magician with sweet tricks and a big appetite for magic.

0:10:23 > 0:10:27He's about to talk you through a trick. So go on, get involved.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33We're going to do a trick with time, so we need a clock.

0:10:36 > 0:10:41Now, what I need you to do is to think of any number, 1 through 12,

0:10:41 > 0:10:44that appears on the face of this clock.

0:10:44 > 0:10:49- Do that now.- Go on, do it now. This is your chance to do a trick.

0:10:49 > 0:10:52Now, place your fingertip on the 12.

0:10:52 > 0:10:56You're going to make three moves to arrive at a random number.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59First, you should spell the number you thought of,

0:10:59 > 0:11:03making one move for each letter clockwise around the circle.

0:11:03 > 0:11:07For example, if you thought of two, you'd spell T-W-O.

0:11:07 > 0:11:12Moving your finger to the one and the two, ending on the three.

0:11:13 > 0:11:17Do that now, spelling the number that you thought of.

0:11:22 > 0:11:23Good.

0:11:23 > 0:11:28Now, from where you are, spell the new number that your finger is on,

0:11:28 > 0:11:31continuing to move around the circle.

0:11:31 > 0:11:35Again, start spelling from the number next to the one your finger is on.

0:11:35 > 0:11:37Do that now.

0:11:40 > 0:11:43Great. You've reached another number.

0:11:43 > 0:11:47One last time, I want you to spell that new number your finger is on,

0:11:47 > 0:11:50continuing around the face of the clock.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53Remember to start spelling from the next number

0:11:53 > 0:11:56to the one your finger is on now. Away you go.

0:12:01 > 0:12:06Good. So you thought of a number and you made three moves from there.

0:12:06 > 0:12:09But I know exactly where you are. You're at one o'clock.

0:12:09 > 0:12:12It's time for lunch.

0:12:12 > 0:12:14I was thinking lunch too!

0:12:14 > 0:12:17Every week, we're bringing you a chart

0:12:17 > 0:12:19of the magic movers and shakers

0:12:19 > 0:12:22and we're calling it, Wannabe Wizards.

0:12:22 > 0:12:25I can already say, this is my favourite bit of the show.

0:12:25 > 0:12:28I've got my comfy chair.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31I've got my nachos and I've got my laptop.

0:12:31 > 0:12:34Let's do this already!

0:12:35 > 0:12:38We asked you to send in clips of yourself

0:12:38 > 0:12:41performing your best magic tricks.

0:12:41 > 0:12:44We received loads of clips from all over the country.

0:12:44 > 0:12:48Each week, I'll choose my five favourite wannabe wizards.

0:12:48 > 0:12:52Number five this time is a coin trick I know you'll love too.

0:12:52 > 0:12:56Ian from Bournemouth is going to make this solid coin

0:12:56 > 0:12:59magically pass through the side of this cup.

0:12:59 > 0:13:00One, two, three.

0:13:00 > 0:13:03I wish I could do that.

0:13:06 > 0:13:09Go on mate, get it back in the cup.

0:13:10 > 0:13:14That coin trick is great. This card one just trumps it though.

0:13:14 > 0:13:18It features the skilled hands of Thomas from Christchurch.

0:13:18 > 0:13:20Nice clothes airer, by the way!

0:13:20 > 0:13:24Stand back, he's going to throw the deck of cards.

0:13:24 > 0:13:27I love this bit when the ace of spades jumps out.

0:13:27 > 0:13:30And Thomas loves the ace of spades.

0:13:31 > 0:13:33Watch this bit! Watch this bit!

0:13:35 > 0:13:38It's going to be the ace of spades again.

0:13:38 > 0:13:40And now, the ace of hearts.

0:13:40 > 0:13:44Guess what he's going to do with that.

0:13:44 > 0:13:49Two of hearts, but now, it's the ace of clubs and yes, the ace of spades!

0:13:49 > 0:13:53He's cool but wait until you see my man Michael from Rotherham.

0:13:53 > 0:13:57- I've got a metal bar. - Forget Houdini, who's Houdini?

0:13:57 > 0:14:01Here's Michael with his funky red curtains and great chat.

0:14:01 > 0:14:04- What a dude! - Here comes my volunteer.

0:14:04 > 0:14:08Look, he's got a proper assistant and everything!

0:14:08 > 0:14:12It all looks secure, ready for Michael's amazing escape act.

0:14:12 > 0:14:17I'm going to turn around while you chain the chains to my wrists.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21Do you know where Michael keeps his chains when he's not using them?

0:14:21 > 0:14:24In his locker! Lock. No? OK.

0:14:27 > 0:14:31That's it. Total lockdown. But wait until you see this bit.

0:14:31 > 0:14:35- How long do you think it'll take me to escape?- How long do you reckon?

0:14:35 > 0:14:39- I know the answer. - Two minutes.- His hand's out!

0:14:39 > 0:14:42- Maybe a little bit less than that. - How did he do that?

0:14:42 > 0:14:46I would say about one minute, possibly. I don't know.

0:14:46 > 0:14:48He's a funny guy, but tricks with chains

0:14:48 > 0:14:51are always topped by tricks with rings,

0:14:51 > 0:14:54which is why Atticus from Yeovil is next.

0:14:54 > 0:14:57Atticus, that name's got a nice ring to it!

0:14:57 > 0:15:01So I have one, two, three, four, five rings.

0:15:01 > 0:15:04And this trick has five rings to it.

0:15:04 > 0:15:08OK, ready?

0:15:08 > 0:15:11One, two, three.

0:15:11 > 0:15:16OK, now, you just take that and make sure they're linked.

0:15:16 > 0:15:18They are indeed linked.

0:15:18 > 0:15:21Good start, but it gets better.

0:15:21 > 0:15:23OK, now...

0:15:23 > 0:15:25two rings now.

0:15:28 > 0:15:31I love this bit. Watch him concentrate.

0:15:31 > 0:15:35He's got nerves of steel to connect the rings of steel.

0:15:35 > 0:15:37Ta-da! He made those two link,

0:15:37 > 0:15:41but no matter how much I rewind, I can't work it out,

0:15:41 > 0:15:45which is why he got number two in my wannabe wizards.

0:15:45 > 0:15:46Who's my favourite, though?

0:15:46 > 0:15:51I'm not going to tell you until I put on my funny chart show voice.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54At number five, Ian's coin was great.

0:15:54 > 0:15:59Ace of spades is the coolest card, so I chose Thomas at four.

0:15:59 > 0:16:04I couldn't escape how good Michael was, so I put him in at three.

0:16:04 > 0:16:08There was a nice ring to Atticus. He was nearly my favourite,

0:16:08 > 0:16:11but out of the tons of wannabe wizards,

0:16:11 > 0:16:13my top one this time was...

0:16:15 > 0:16:18..this total dude, Gabriel from Bovington.

0:16:18 > 0:16:21It could be the skateboard, it could be his style,

0:16:21 > 0:16:24but he's got a WHEELIE good trick.

0:16:24 > 0:16:27Here I have a deck of cards. Pick any card you like.

0:16:30 > 0:16:31Yep.

0:16:31 > 0:16:34Keep a note of this - the three of diamonds.

0:16:34 > 0:16:36I'll just take your card

0:16:36 > 0:16:38and put it roughly there.

0:16:38 > 0:16:42If I was a beginner, I'd find your card like this.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45But I'm not a beginner, so I'm not.

0:16:45 > 0:16:49OK. So I'm just going to spread my cards out on this,

0:16:49 > 0:16:51and there's one card turned over,

0:16:51 > 0:16:54which is the three of diamonds.

0:16:54 > 0:16:56Was that your card?

0:16:56 > 0:16:57Yeah, it was!

0:16:57 > 0:17:00Thank you.

0:17:00 > 0:17:05Can't wait until next time for more wannabe wizards.

0:17:05 > 0:17:08An important part of magic is glamorous assistants.

0:17:08 > 0:17:12So, with any luck, here are mine now, guys...

0:17:15 > 0:17:17PHONE RINGS

0:17:19 > 0:17:20Mm?

0:17:20 > 0:17:24What's that? The glamorous assistants can't come?

0:17:24 > 0:17:28They came to the door, saw it was me and left?

0:17:28 > 0:17:31While I sort this out, you watch what's coming up.

0:17:31 > 0:17:35Have you worked out the secret to Fergus's challenge?

0:17:35 > 0:17:38If you haven't got your paper, apple and cups,

0:17:38 > 0:17:40go and get them now, hurry!

0:17:40 > 0:17:44See John baffle this boy and leave him confused.

0:17:44 > 0:17:48But can you work out how he does it?

0:17:48 > 0:17:52Watch what happens when Fergus goes undercover in another school.

0:17:52 > 0:17:54Could it be your class?

0:17:54 > 0:17:57Could your supply teacher be magic?

0:17:57 > 0:18:02In Undercover Magic, we hide cameras in all sorts of places.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05Our magicians play tricks on members of the public

0:18:05 > 0:18:08who don't know they're being filmed.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10Going undercover this time is James.

0:18:10 > 0:18:14He's got a smooth head and even smoother hands

0:18:14 > 0:18:16that do trick with bite.

0:18:16 > 0:18:20James is in this cafe to play a trick on Kevin and Cindy.

0:18:20 > 0:18:22They've been set up by their mum.

0:18:22 > 0:18:25They have no idea what's about to happen.

0:18:25 > 0:18:28Chosen what you're going to eat yet?

0:18:28 > 0:18:32I ordered a glass of water and they didn't give me an ice cube.

0:18:32 > 0:18:33It's a silly thing,

0:18:33 > 0:18:37but...it's just nice getting an ice cube in your drink.

0:18:37 > 0:18:41This chat about ice is all very nice, but let's see the trick.

0:18:41 > 0:18:44Could try and make one.

0:18:44 > 0:18:46Have you ever made an ice cube?

0:18:46 > 0:18:51Yeah, you've made an ice cube? What do you use to make an ice cube?

0:18:54 > 0:18:57Takes ages, doesn't it? Tell you what, we'll try this.

0:18:57 > 0:19:02He's like a real-life ice man. Everything he touches turns to ice.

0:19:02 > 0:19:06Put a bit of water in your hand. Got to be careful you get it all in.

0:19:06 > 0:19:08Like that.

0:19:08 > 0:19:09Watch.

0:19:12 > 0:19:14Wow! That's awesome!

0:19:14 > 0:19:17- He made an ice cube. How did he do that?- Cheers!

0:19:17 > 0:19:20It's the moment you've been waiting for -

0:19:20 > 0:19:23a chance for you to learn how to fool your friends.

0:19:23 > 0:19:27Me and Fergus challenged you to balance an apple

0:19:27 > 0:19:30?on a piece of paper between two cups. Have you worked it out?

0:19:30 > 0:19:33How many of you got it?

0:19:33 > 0:19:36Maybe you think it works when the paper's laid flat.

0:19:36 > 0:19:40Nah! What about in a tube?

0:19:40 > 0:19:42Uh-uh! Come on!

0:19:42 > 0:19:46It's all about folding the paper. It's so simple even I could do it.

0:19:52 > 0:19:56You make a paper fan, then put the fan between the two cups.

0:19:56 > 0:20:00The apple balances nicely on top.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03Did you get it? Are you amazing already?

0:20:03 > 0:20:06Now you've got something to show off with in the playground.

0:20:06 > 0:20:10And John is about to show off a trick in a theme park.

0:20:10 > 0:20:13He's found Adam, Thomas and Jack among the rides.

0:20:13 > 0:20:17They're about to have their minds expanded by these rubber bands.

0:20:17 > 0:20:19I put one band on my first finger and thumb,

0:20:19 > 0:20:22then the other band on this finger and thumb behind it.

0:20:22 > 0:20:26I'm trapped. I can't get out that way, that way or that way.

0:20:26 > 0:20:29But if I rub the elastic bands together, they melt

0:20:29 > 0:20:32right through each other. It's a bit quick,

0:20:32 > 0:20:35but I'll do it slower. That's on my first finger and thumb.

0:20:35 > 0:20:39People think I swap fingers, but it stays on the first finger and thumb.

0:20:39 > 0:20:42This band really does go behind the other,

0:20:42 > 0:20:43it's not an optical illusion.

0:20:43 > 0:20:46If it was, I wouldn't be able to do that.

0:20:46 > 0:20:49There's no way out - no gaps in my fingers or thumbs.

0:20:49 > 0:20:51No surgery to my hands, no gaps in the bands.

0:20:51 > 0:20:54A little rub, they come right through each other.

0:20:54 > 0:20:57- Hey!- Whoa! Can we get a rewind?

0:20:57 > 0:20:59No gaps in the bands.

0:20:59 > 0:21:02A little rub and they come right through each other.

0:21:02 > 0:21:05- Hey!- I know what you're thinking.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08I wonder if he can do it if someone else holds one of the bands.

0:21:08 > 0:21:13I knew. I read minds as well. Hold your fingers out, like this.

0:21:13 > 0:21:16John's no one-man-band. Jack's about to join in.

0:21:16 > 0:21:19Wonderful. Just hold it there. You'll watch it from backstage,

0:21:19 > 0:21:23I'll watch it from front stage. Is that band behind that one?

0:21:23 > 0:21:25- Yeah.- It is. And that's in front of that one?

0:21:25 > 0:21:28- Wonderful. Can you feel that? - Yeah.- Feel that?- Mm-hm.

0:21:28 > 0:21:31- You're feeling very well today. Feel that?- Yeah.- That's tension.

0:21:31 > 0:21:36Don't let me sneak it off this way or that and don't let the tension go.

0:21:36 > 0:21:37Watch.

0:21:38 > 0:21:42Whoa! That was awesome! Let's see that again.

0:21:42 > 0:21:44Don't let me sneak it off this way or that

0:21:44 > 0:21:47and don't let the tension go. Watch.

0:21:49 > 0:21:54- Oh, that...- How did that happen then?- I've no idea.

0:21:54 > 0:21:56That was amazing. I don't know how that happened.

0:21:56 > 0:22:01He told me to hold my fingers out. I had the elastic band on my fingers,

0:22:01 > 0:22:04then he did the trick. And I didn't let it out.

0:22:04 > 0:22:09- I don't know what to say. - You could say, "That was awesome!"

0:22:09 > 0:22:12I am a massive fan of elastic bands.

0:22:12 > 0:22:15You can do loads with them. You can...

0:22:15 > 0:22:17SMASHING

0:22:17 > 0:22:20Now it's time for our magician Fergus.

0:22:20 > 0:22:26He's at another school as an undercover supply teacher

0:22:26 > 0:22:30to do an incredible trick. Is it your school or your class? And...

0:22:30 > 0:22:36will the class realise their supply teacher is magic? Let's find out.

0:22:36 > 0:22:40These year five pupils think they're coming in for an ordinary lesson.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42But they're wrong!

0:22:42 > 0:22:44There's nothing ordinary about Fergus.

0:22:44 > 0:22:49The classroom's rigged with hidden cameras and he's about to do

0:22:49 > 0:22:51an exciting disappearing trick.

0:22:51 > 0:22:54Good morning. My name is Mr Flanagan.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57Today, I'm stepping in as your supply teacher.

0:22:57 > 0:23:02Today, we're doing science. On the table I've got lots of items,

0:23:02 > 0:23:05one of which is called a microfibre.

0:23:05 > 0:23:09It's a piece of paper, Fergus, you little liar.

0:23:09 > 0:23:14What this enables is for micro-transportation.

0:23:14 > 0:23:18They all think he's a teacher. But he's an incredible magician.

0:23:18 > 0:23:21What I need to do to begin with

0:23:21 > 0:23:26is to scrunch my microfibre into a small ball. Can you see that?

0:23:26 > 0:23:27ALL: Yeah.

0:23:27 > 0:23:32Now, I've got two containers here and I'm going to place my microfibre

0:23:32 > 0:23:35- into the container.- Keep your eye on that container,

0:23:35 > 0:23:38- cos soon it will contain magic. - Step number two...

0:23:38 > 0:23:40involves using an egg.

0:23:40 > 0:23:43I'll place that with the microfibre into the container.

0:23:43 > 0:23:48- I have to be careful...- Oh, a trick with an egg. Very EGGciting!

0:23:48 > 0:23:52Look at their faces. How could they think he's a teacher

0:23:52 > 0:23:55with that jumper and that hair. But they do.

0:23:55 > 0:23:59- Would you?- A chemical reaction will take place, so I'll put these on.

0:23:59 > 0:24:04This chemical reaction will activate when I start shaking....

0:24:04 > 0:24:07He's got them all eating out of his hand.

0:24:07 > 0:24:11And all he's done so far is put a piece of paper and an egg

0:24:11 > 0:24:15in a plastic jar. Wait till they, and you, see the trick coming up.

0:24:15 > 0:24:16It'll be amazing.

0:24:16 > 0:24:19So once I start shaking...

0:24:19 > 0:24:22Remember, there's an egg and a piece of paper in the jar.

0:24:22 > 0:24:27Nearly there. It's starting to happen. That microfibre

0:24:27 > 0:24:30will begin to slowly absorb...

0:24:30 > 0:24:34And now there's just the paper! What?! The egg has gone.

0:24:34 > 0:24:39- CHILDREN GASP - I cannot believe my eyes. There was an egg in there.

0:24:39 > 0:24:44He shook it, now there isn't. He's made it disappear. Where did it go?

0:24:44 > 0:24:47It didn't actually get hot that time.

0:24:47 > 0:24:52Check as much as you like, you won't find anything...cos it's magic!

0:24:52 > 0:24:57Now he's got the class hooked, watch what happens when he puts the paper

0:24:57 > 0:25:00- in the other jar. - I'll do exactly the same...

0:25:00 > 0:25:05He made the egg disappear, now he'll make it appear again. Go, Fergus!

0:25:05 > 0:25:10The moment it enters the jar, just by shaking, as before...

0:25:10 > 0:25:14Whoa! The egg went and it came back again!

0:25:14 > 0:25:17CHILDREN CHATTER

0:25:17 > 0:25:21Can we get a rewind?

0:25:21 > 0:25:24You can actually start to reform...

0:25:28 > 0:25:33See that start to get harder. I need to give it a second to fully form.

0:25:33 > 0:25:34It's a real egg.

0:25:34 > 0:25:39- I take the egg and just crack it. - He's even cracking it! No way!

0:25:39 > 0:25:42Yes way!

0:25:42 > 0:25:46Time for our teacher to let them all in on the YOLK...I mean joke.

0:25:46 > 0:25:50- I bet you've never had a supply teacher like me, have you?- No.

0:25:50 > 0:25:53D'you know why that is?

0:25:53 > 0:25:55I'm actually a magician.

0:25:55 > 0:25:58- I knew it!- And right now,

0:25:58 > 0:26:02all of you are being filmed on secret cameras there

0:26:02 > 0:26:05and secret cameras there and there.

0:26:05 > 0:26:08CHILDREN GIGGLE AND SHOUT

0:26:12 > 0:26:17He did it! Fergus's brilliant disappearing trick fooled the class.

0:26:17 > 0:26:23I just saw an egg disappear in a tiny little jar. Just so weird.

0:26:23 > 0:26:29He put the egg and paper in a jar, shook them and made the egg vanish.

0:26:29 > 0:26:33There was no egg hidden in the glove so it was a real magic trick.

0:26:33 > 0:26:36He put the paper in another jar, gave it a shake,

0:26:36 > 0:26:40and the egg reappeared. Unbelievable!

0:26:40 > 0:26:44- I went shocked. I was like...that. - Like what? Let's see that again.

0:26:44 > 0:26:46I was like...that.

0:26:46 > 0:26:48Fergus pulled it off.

0:26:48 > 0:26:53The class had no idea he was a magician. We totally got them

0:26:53 > 0:26:55and they loved it!

0:27:00 > 0:27:03See you later. But until then, if you're at school

0:27:03 > 0:27:06and you think something magical is occurring,

0:27:06 > 0:27:12maybe you'll find yourself shouting, "Help! My supply teacher is magic!"
