0:02:37 > 0:02:40They are going to be just perfect for when we do judo later on.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43Before we get started, what have we got to do first?

0:02:43 > 0:02:46ALL: Wash our hands!

0:02:46 > 0:02:50Wash our hands. That's right. Come on, let's go.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55# Roll up your sleeves

0:02:55 > 0:02:58# Give your hands a wash with slippy-dippy soap

0:02:58 > 0:03:00# Splish splash splosh

0:03:00 > 0:03:01# Have you done your hands?

0:03:03 > 0:03:04# Sleeves rolled up

0:03:04 > 0:03:05# Apron tied

0:03:05 > 0:03:09# What can you do? I can cook! #

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Now we have washed our hands let's get started.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17The first thing we're going to do to make our vegetable samosas is

0:03:17 > 0:03:19make the filling.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22The first ingredient for our filling is a spring onion.

0:03:22 > 0:03:27Do you reckon that we can be as springy as a spring onion?

0:03:27 > 0:03:32Let's do it. Ready? And boing, boing, boing, boing, boing!

0:03:32 > 0:03:35Boing, boing, boing, boing!

0:03:35 > 0:03:39Come on then, springy people, let's snip up our spring onions.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42We are going to snip them up using our scissors.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45Be careful with scissors. Everybody knows that we point them down

0:03:45 > 0:03:48- towards our...- ALL: Toes! - You've got it!

0:03:48 > 0:03:52We want to snip the white part of the onion first.

0:03:54 > 0:03:58Can you do snipping with us? Ready. You get your scissors like this.

0:03:58 > 0:04:02That's it. Then you go snip, snip, snip.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05Hey, you are really good at that.

0:04:05 > 0:04:06You can snip with us.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10Once you have snipped up all of your spring onions,

0:04:10 > 0:04:13just pop them into your bowl.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16The next thing we need to do is cut up some cooked potatoes

0:04:16 > 0:04:17and some cooked carrots.

0:04:17 > 0:04:21We are going to do that using a table knife.

0:04:21 > 0:04:25Some knives can be a little bit sharp. You do need to be careful.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28We are going to use a table knife. That is fine for us to use.

0:04:28 > 0:04:34Take the potatoes out of your pot. Start cutting them up like this.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36They are really soft.

0:04:42 > 0:04:47Then when you have finished chopping all of your vegetables,

0:04:47 > 0:04:49just pop everything into your bowl.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51There we go.

0:04:53 > 0:04:55The next ingredient we are going to add are some lovely peas.

0:04:55 > 0:04:59We are going to add a whole tablespoon of peas. So...

0:04:59 > 0:05:04Hang on a minute! I have got three different sizes of spoon here.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07I wonder which one is a tablespoon.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10Do you know which one is a tablespoon?

0:05:10 > 0:05:12I know which one is a tablespoon, Katy.

0:05:12 > 0:05:14Everyone look, it's my friend Mr Spoon.

0:05:14 > 0:05:18- Say, hello, Mr Spoon. - ALL: Hello, Mr Spoon.

0:05:18 > 0:05:20Hello, everyone.

0:05:20 > 0:05:24Mr Spoon, can you tell me which size spoon is a tablespoon?

0:05:24 > 0:05:29Of course I can. The very little spoon is a teaspoon.

0:05:29 > 0:05:33The middle spoon is called a dessert spoon.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36The big spoon is called a tablespoon.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38So you need the big spoon.

0:05:38 > 0:05:43The big spoon. Thank you very much, Mr Spoon. I will see you later on.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46- My pleasure. Bye now. - Everyone say bye.

0:05:46 > 0:05:49- ALL: Bye. - Bye, Mr Spoon, see you soon.

0:05:49 > 0:05:51Now we know which one is a tablespoon,

0:05:51 > 0:05:53we can carry on with our recipe.

0:05:53 > 0:05:59Take your tablespoon and load it up with a big mountain of peas.

0:05:59 > 0:06:07Now balance it carefully. Then drop it into your bowl. Whoosh!

0:06:07 > 0:06:09There we go. The last ingredient we need

0:06:09 > 0:06:10is something called korma paste.

0:06:10 > 0:06:13Korma paste is going to add a really lovely spicy flavour

0:06:13 > 0:06:16to our samosas. Pick up one spoon.

0:06:16 > 0:06:22Take a big scoop and then use the other spoon to slide it off.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25- Whee!- ALL: Whee!

0:06:25 > 0:06:28Then finally we want to take your tablespoon

0:06:28 > 0:06:30and give everything in the bowl

0:06:30 > 0:06:32a really good mix. Off you go.

0:06:34 > 0:06:39- Everyone say, "Mix, mix, mix." - ALL: Mix, mix, mix.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42It is like a roundabout going round and round, isn't it?

0:06:42 > 0:06:45- It has gone all spicy.- It has gone all spicy and changed colour.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49- ALL: Yes.- Do you like the smell? It is really nice, isn't it?

0:06:49 > 0:06:52Next we need to make the wrapping for our samosas.

0:06:52 > 0:06:55We're going to use a type of pastry called filo pastry.

0:06:55 > 0:06:57It is really thin, like paper.

0:06:57 > 0:06:58Move your bowl over to the side

0:06:58 > 0:07:00so we have got a bit of space on our mats.

0:07:00 > 0:07:05Then we are going to take our pastry and really carefully

0:07:05 > 0:07:08unwrap it on your mat.

0:07:08 > 0:07:14There we go. We are going to take a pastry brush, dip it in some oil

0:07:14 > 0:07:18and dip-dap the oil over the pastry.

0:07:18 > 0:07:20Dip-dap, dip-dap.

0:07:20 > 0:07:23Dip-dap, dip-dap.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26Then we want to fold our filo pastry in half

0:07:26 > 0:07:31so that it makes a long thin rectangle shape like this.

0:07:31 > 0:07:34Just push it down a little bit so it sticks together.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37Once you have folded it over we are going to

0:07:37 > 0:07:40dip our brushes in the oil again. And what are we going to do?

0:07:40 > 0:07:43ALL: Dip-dap, dip-dap, dip-dap, dip-dap.

0:07:43 > 0:07:47Now put your brushes back into your cups. That's it.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50Take a big spoonful of your mixture.

0:07:50 > 0:07:53Then just pop it at the bottom of your pastry.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57First of all we are going to fold the pastry over like that

0:07:57 > 0:07:59so it makes a triangle.

0:08:00 > 0:08:04Ooop! Then we fold it again.

0:08:04 > 0:08:07There we go.

0:08:07 > 0:08:12Then again. Then we are going to just pop it

0:08:12 > 0:08:13on to our baking tray.

0:08:13 > 0:08:15There we go.

0:08:15 > 0:08:18And the final thing we are going to do is use our brush to do

0:08:18 > 0:08:20some more dip-dapping.

0:08:20 > 0:08:22So dip it in the oil.

0:08:22 > 0:08:24Dip-dap, doing, doing.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28That is it. You have done it, everyone.

0:08:28 > 0:08:31You have made four vegetable samosas all by yourselves.

0:08:31 > 0:08:34All we have got to do now is pop them in the oven.

0:08:36 > 0:08:39Now remember ovens are hot. Don't go near.

0:08:39 > 0:08:44You need to ask a grown-up to help you here.

0:08:44 > 0:08:48These should not take very long to cook at all.

0:08:48 > 0:08:51Don't forget, we need to make everywhere tidy and clean.

0:08:51 > 0:08:54Scrub those pots so they sparkle and gleam.

0:08:54 > 0:08:55You are right, Mr Spoon.

0:08:55 > 0:08:58Come on, everyone, let's tidy everything away.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01# Now we've cooked

0:09:01 > 0:09:03# Let's wash up

0:09:44 > 0:09:46First of all I want you to crouch down low.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48You are going to roll backwards and slap the mat
