0:02:36 > 0:02:39Well, let's get started on our fig and fudge biscuits!

0:02:39 > 0:02:41That's quite hard to say, isn't it?

0:02:41 > 0:02:44Fig and fudge! Can you say that?

0:02:44 > 0:02:45ALL: Fig and fudge!

0:02:45 > 0:02:48But can you say "Fig and fudge" quickly, like this?

0:02:48 > 0:02:51Fig-and-fudge, fig-and-fudge, fig-and-fudge!

0:02:51 > 0:02:54ALL: Fig-and-fudge, fig-and-fudge...!

0:02:54 > 0:02:57I can say it really quick! Fig-and-fudge!

0:02:57 > 0:03:00Oh, that was really good! Now the first thing we're going to do,

0:03:00 > 0:03:03and I know that you like it, is TICKLING!

0:03:03 > 0:03:06- Yeah, I love tickling! - So do I!

0:03:06 > 0:03:10Now to tickle, we need to get out our tickle fingers!

0:03:10 > 0:03:14So put your fingers in front of you and go, "Tickle-tickle-tickle!"

0:03:14 > 0:03:16ALL: Tickle-tickle-tickle!

0:03:16 > 0:03:19Fantastic! OK, get your tickly fingers,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22and we're going to dive our tickly fingers into

0:03:22 > 0:03:25this bowl with butter and flour.

0:03:25 > 0:03:26Ready? W-o-o-oop!

0:03:26 > 0:03:31That's it, get right down to the bottom. So dig down deep!

0:03:31 > 0:03:33- Can you feel the bottom?- ALL: Yeah.

0:03:33 > 0:03:37Now I want you to squeeze with your fingers, as tightly as you can!

0:03:37 > 0:03:38Squee-e-e-ze!

0:03:40 > 0:03:42And then we need to keep squeezing

0:03:42 > 0:03:47and keep tickling until...everything is mixed together.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50Everyone go, "Tickle-tickle-tickle!"

0:03:50 > 0:03:52ALL: Tickle-tickle-tickle!

0:03:52 > 0:03:57Don't forget to tickle at home. Have you got your tickle fingers?

0:03:57 > 0:03:59That's it, and tickle away!

0:03:59 > 0:04:05- Look at my fingers!- Aah! - I'm a big monster. Ready? Ra-a-a-ar!

0:04:05 > 0:04:07R-r-r-rr!

0:04:09 > 0:04:10There we go.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13That's just enough tickling.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16The next ingredient we need is a fig, because we couldn't have

0:04:16 > 0:04:20fig and fudge biscuits without a fig, could we?

0:04:20 > 0:04:23No, cos then it would just be fudge biscuits!

0:04:23 > 0:04:26That's right! It would just be fudge biscuits.

0:04:26 > 0:04:30Now, a fresh fig looks like this! It's really yummy.

0:04:30 > 0:04:34The fig can be dried, and a dried fig looks like this...

0:04:34 > 0:04:37like it's been out in the sun for too long and gone all wrinkly.

0:04:37 > 0:04:41Can you pretend to be a fresh fig turning into a dried fig?

0:04:41 > 0:04:45Why don't we do it together? So, let's be a fresh fig!

0:04:45 > 0:04:49And then we dry up in the sun, like this!

0:04:49 > 0:04:52SMOOSH

0:04:52 > 0:04:55You look like a little bunny rabbit!

0:04:55 > 0:04:58We need to snip the stalk off our fig,

0:04:58 > 0:05:01and to do that we need to use our scissors!

0:05:01 > 0:05:04But remember, be safe with scissors.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07Everybody knows that you point them down towards your...

0:05:07 > 0:05:09ALL: Toes!!

0:05:09 > 0:05:13You've got it, team! So let's snip off the stalk. Sn-n-ip!

0:05:13 > 0:05:17Next, we're going to rip this fig in half. R-r-rrip!

0:05:17 > 0:05:22Then, we just need to snip these two bits,

0:05:22 > 0:05:24with our scissors, into small pieces.

0:05:24 > 0:05:28So, let's get snipping. There we go.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34And then put your scissors down once you've finished snipping.

0:05:34 > 0:05:39OK, now sprinkle the fig into the bowl. Ready? Woo-hoo!

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Who likes sweet things?

0:05:43 > 0:05:44ALL: Me!

0:05:44 > 0:05:47I love them, which is why we're going to add some sugar.

0:05:47 > 0:05:53So watch this. Ready? Sugar-shuffle, sugar-shuffle, sugar-shuffle!

0:05:53 > 0:05:57- Sugar-shuffle, sugar-shuffle... - Ha-ha-ha!

0:05:57 > 0:06:01So, what's the next ingredient going to be for our biscuits?

0:06:01 > 0:06:06What's next? Well, let us see if you can guess what it could be?

0:06:08 > 0:06:12What would you choose for our fig and fudge biscuits?

0:06:12 > 0:06:19We've got some fudge...a lemon...and some strawberries.

0:06:19 > 0:06:22I'll give you some clues and then you can try and guess

0:06:22 > 0:06:24what it might be.

0:06:24 > 0:06:27OK, here's one. The special ingredient is sweet.

0:06:27 > 0:06:30Well, lemons are really sour, aren't they?

0:06:30 > 0:06:33So we can definitely take lemons away.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35OK, here's another clue.

0:06:35 > 0:06:40The special ingredient is sweet, and...it's NOT a fruit.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43Well, strawberries are definitely a fruit, aren't they?

0:06:43 > 0:06:45So let's take that one away, too.

0:06:45 > 0:06:48There we go. Which leaves us with fudge.

0:06:48 > 0:06:52We're going to need some fudge for our fig and fudge biscuits.

0:06:52 > 0:06:54And I went to make some!

0:07:04 > 0:07:08I've come to a shop in Windsor to find out how fudge is made,

0:07:08 > 0:07:11so let's go inside and have a look. Come on!

0:07:12 > 0:07:16This is my friend Patch, who's going to help me. Hello, Patch!

0:07:16 > 0:07:19Hiya! Fudge, Katy, is made of sugar and cream.

0:07:21 > 0:07:24They melt together to give fudge its lovely, creamy taste.

0:07:27 > 0:07:31- Can I have a go, Patch? - Of course you can.

0:07:31 > 0:07:34- It's very hot.- Very, very hot now.

0:07:34 > 0:07:38Fudge has to be at just the right temperature

0:07:38 > 0:07:40before we can pour it out.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46Wow, that is amazing!

0:07:46 > 0:07:50As the fudge cools down, it changes colour,

0:07:50 > 0:07:53and it becomes more like modelling clay.

0:07:53 > 0:07:58We have to shape it into a big, long loaf, and we're nearly done.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00And all we need to do now is slice it.

0:08:04 > 0:08:07- There you go.- Thanks, Patch.

0:08:07 > 0:08:11So here it is, our lovely fudge, all ready to use in our biscuits.

0:08:11 > 0:08:13Can't wait!

0:08:13 > 0:08:18I really enjoyed making this fudge. It was really interesting!

0:08:18 > 0:08:21Now, you've got some fudge on your tables too.

0:08:21 > 0:08:26They look like litle fudge building blocks. What do they feel like?

0:08:26 > 0:08:27They're really squishy.

0:08:27 > 0:08:32- Can you imagine if you had a house made out of fudge?- I would eat it.

0:08:32 > 0:08:35You would eat your house! Oh, that would be delicious!

0:08:35 > 0:08:39OK, let's put this fudge into our bowl with our other ingredients.

0:08:39 > 0:08:41There we go.

0:08:41 > 0:08:46OK, next we need to give everything in this bowl a good mix,

0:08:46 > 0:08:48using our spoon. There we go.

0:08:49 > 0:08:52- What are we going to do, everybody? - ALL: Dig down deep!

0:08:52 > 0:08:54And you can mix with us, too.

0:08:54 > 0:08:58You just need to get your bowl and then you need to get your spoon,

0:08:58 > 0:09:02and you go, "Mix, mix, mix!"

0:09:06 > 0:09:09And now it's time to get our hands really messy!

0:09:09 > 0:09:11Ya-a-ay!

0:09:11 > 0:09:13Who likes getting messy?

0:09:13 > 0:09:15ALL: Me!

0:09:15 > 0:09:18We're going to make a fig and fudge mountain,

0:09:18 > 0:09:20and I'll show you how to do it.

0:09:20 > 0:09:24You need to put your hands into the bowl, squeeze the mixture together

0:09:24 > 0:09:27so you make a mountain at the bottom of it.

0:09:27 > 0:09:28Look at this.

0:09:31 > 0:09:33Look at my mountain!

0:09:33 > 0:09:35Toby, that's fantastic!

0:09:35 > 0:09:37Pick the mountain up, look at that.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40Ooh! And put it on your mat.

0:09:40 > 0:09:43Pick it up REALLY carefully.

0:09:43 > 0:09:46- I've done it! - And then once you've got your

0:09:46 > 0:09:50mountain on your mat, we're going to make it into a long sausage.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52Push it down flat.

0:09:52 > 0:09:55And make it into a sausage shape.

0:09:55 > 0:09:57It looks like a caterpillar, actually!

0:09:57 > 0:10:00A fig and fudge caterpillar!

0:10:00 > 0:10:02OK, now we need to

0:10:02 > 0:10:05split everything into eight pieces.

0:10:05 > 0:10:08So, split it in half...

0:10:08 > 0:10:10and then, we split these two pieces in half

0:10:10 > 0:10:12like this.

0:10:12 > 0:10:13And then, we split

0:10:13 > 0:10:15each of these pieces in half!

0:10:15 > 0:10:18So, let's count all of our pieces.

0:10:18 > 0:10:22One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

0:10:22 > 0:10:23Beautiful!

0:10:23 > 0:10:27Pick up each piece and put it in your hand,

0:10:27 > 0:10:31and then we're going to roll it, like this...make it into a ball.

0:10:31 > 0:10:34And then put that there.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37Katy, look at what I've made.

0:10:37 > 0:10:42Avy Ru, that looks absolutely perfect!

0:10:42 > 0:10:44OK, everyone, show me your hand like this,

0:10:44 > 0:10:49and then give it a wave...cos we're going to use this hand

0:10:49 > 0:10:52to flatten our fig and fudge balls.

0:10:52 > 0:10:57ALL: Squash, squish, squash.

0:10:57 > 0:11:01And that is it! You did it! You put the ingredients together

0:11:01 > 0:11:03for your fig and fudge biscuits by yourself.

0:11:03 > 0:11:07Well done! Now we just need to put them in the oven.

0:11:09 > 0:11:12But remember, ovens are hot, so don't go near.

0:11:12 > 0:11:15Ask a grown-up to help you here.

0:11:16 > 0:11:20# Now we've cooked with you, and had lots of fun
