0:24:12 > 0:24:16Take a pinch of paprika with your pinchy parrot, it'll add delicious

0:24:16 > 0:24:21flavour to our cheese and tomato melts. We need to tickle the butter

0:25:10 > 0:25:15- Toes!- That's it, so, give Mr Spring Onion a little haircut.

0:25:15 > 0:25:21That's it. And now we're going to snip the spring onion into our bowl.

0:25:21 > 0:25:25So hold it over the bowl and get snipping.

0:25:25 > 0:25:29Snip. Oh, it's very springy.

0:25:29 > 0:25:33So keep snipping until you get to this part and then you can

0:25:33 > 0:25:37stop there and we can put this part in the recycling bin.

0:25:37 > 0:25:41- Our next ingredient is Cheddar cheese.- Cheddar cheese?

0:25:43 > 0:25:48Cheddar cheese is delicious and when you put it on toast and put it

0:25:48 > 0:25:52in the oven, it all melts and that is exactly what's going to happen

0:25:52 > 0:25:57when we put this cheddar cheese into our cheese and tomato melts.

0:26:05 > 0:26:09Brilliant, let's add the Cheddar cheese into our recipe.

0:26:09 > 0:26:16- So sprinkle it in.- Done it! - And then give everything a good mix.

0:26:16 > 0:26:21For that, you'll need your fork. So hold your bowl and let's get mixing.

0:27:17 > 0:27:20Which leaves us with tomato juice.

0:27:20 > 0:27:24We're going to need some tomato juice

0:27:24 > 0:27:26in our cheese and tomato melts.

0:27:26 > 0:27:28Earlier, I went to find some.

0:27:35 > 0:27:38I've come to a food shop in Newcastle

0:27:38 > 0:27:40to find out about tomato juice.

0:27:40 > 0:27:43Let's go and have a look.

0:27:43 > 0:27:47Juices come from all different types of fruit and vegetables.

0:27:47 > 0:27:51Carrot juice comes from carrots,

0:27:51 > 0:27:54apple juice comes from apples,

0:27:54 > 0:27:58but the juice that we need for our recipe is tomato juice,

0:27:58 > 0:28:00and that comes from tomatoes.

0:28:00 > 0:28:02Tomatoes are a type of fruit.

0:28:02 > 0:28:06They come in all different shapes and sizes.

0:28:06 > 0:28:08These are called beefsteak tomatoes,

0:28:08 > 0:28:12and these are the ones which are used to make tomato juice.

0:28:14 > 0:28:19First of all, the tomatoes are pressed together in a big machine,

0:28:19 > 0:28:22it takes out all of the tomato seeds,

0:28:22 > 0:28:24and it takes off the skins too.

0:28:24 > 0:28:28The squished tomatoes are then heated up

0:28:28 > 0:28:30and poured into bottles like these.

0:28:30 > 0:28:36And in this bottle, there are seven beefsteak tomatoes!

0:28:36 > 0:28:38This bottle of tomato juice

0:28:38 > 0:28:41will be perfect for our cheese and tomato melts.

0:28:43 > 0:28:47It's amazing how many different types of juice you can buy.

0:28:47 > 0:28:51But for now, we're just going to use tomato juice,

0:28:51 > 0:28:56and with it we're going to play the tip and load game!

0:28:56 > 0:28:58Right, I will show you how to play it.

0:28:58 > 0:29:03You hold the handle of the cup like this, then you take your spoon,

0:29:03 > 0:29:10you tip the cup, load up your spoon with one spoonful

0:29:10 > 0:29:15of tomato juice, and very carefully, bring it over to your bowl

0:29:15 > 0:29:17and splash it in!

0:29:17 > 0:29:21Splash! So we only need two tablespoons.

0:29:21 > 0:29:25And then take your fork and give everything a really good mix.

0:29:47 > 0:29:50it's all going to stick together in a ball.

0:29:50 > 0:29:53Now all we need to do is roll it out.

0:29:53 > 0:29:56Let's move our bowl to the side and make lots of space.

0:29:56 > 0:30:01And then we're going to sprinkle some flour all over our mat,

0:30:01 > 0:30:03like a big snowstorm.

0:30:08 > 0:30:11So the next thing we need to do is some rolling.

0:30:24 > 0:30:29Woah! I think we're ready to do the rolling for our dough now.

0:30:29 > 0:30:33We take our dough and we put it in the middle of our mat,

0:30:33 > 0:30:35sprinkle a little bit more snow on top.

0:30:35 > 0:30:40And then we take our rolling pin and we do some rolling.

0:30:40 > 0:30:42Like I am.

0:30:42 > 0:30:45And we need to make it big enough so that both of our hands

0:30:45 > 0:30:49fit onto the dough.

0:30:49 > 0:30:54- Both of my hands can fit on it! - Oh, brilliant, Rose, you're done!

0:30:54 > 0:30:56- Hayyan's done too.- Mine can.

0:30:56 > 0:31:00We've all got different shaped but similar sized cutters,

0:31:00 > 0:31:02I've got a wiggly circle.

0:31:02 > 0:31:05- I've got the same as you, I have.- You have!

0:31:05 > 0:31:07We're going to make six different shapes

0:31:07 > 0:31:11and we're going to start by cutting right up in the corner.

0:31:11 > 0:31:15Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

0:31:15 > 0:31:20So there's one, we'll put that over there. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

0:31:21 > 0:31:22Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

0:31:22 > 0:31:28- Woo! I've got six.- I've got six. - I've got loads of dough left.

0:31:28 > 0:31:31I'll put that in the freezer to make more melts later on.
