0:01:42 > 0:01:48- Yes.- Today, we are going to cook fruity filo parcels. Look at this.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50Mmm!

0:01:50 > 0:01:55I can't wait to eat those, but before we cook them,

0:01:55 > 0:01:58we need to do something. What do you think it is?

0:01:58 > 0:02:03- Wash our hands.- That's it. Come on. Let's get going.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11# Roll up your sleeves, give your hands a wash

0:02:11 > 0:02:15# With slippy dippy soap, splish splash splosh

0:02:15 > 0:02:18# Have you done your hands? Washed and dried?

0:02:18 > 0:02:20# Sleeves rolled up, apron tied

0:02:20 > 0:02:24# What can you do? I can cook! #

0:02:27 > 0:02:30Let's get started on these fruity filo parcels.

0:02:30 > 0:02:35First, we need Mr Teaspoon. He's right here.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Hello, Mr Teaspoon.

0:02:37 > 0:02:42'Oh, hello, Katy. Are we going to do some measuring today?'

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Indeed we are. We need your help.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47How many teaspoonfuls do we need?

0:02:47 > 0:02:52We need two teaspoonfuls of this mixed fruit down here.

0:02:52 > 0:02:56One...

0:02:56 > 0:02:58..two.

0:02:58 > 0:03:04The next thing we need is Mr Tablespoon. Hello, Mr Tablespoon.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08'Oh, hello, Katy. Are we going to do some measuring?'

0:03:08 > 0:03:15Yes, we are. We need one tablespoonful of this juice.

0:03:15 > 0:03:21So we put our spoon into the cup and we tip a load to fill it up.

0:03:21 > 0:03:26So hold the cup by the handle, everybody.

0:03:26 > 0:03:31Gently tip it to the side and fill your spoon up with juice.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35And then splash it in with your fruit.

0:03:35 > 0:03:40What's going to happen is the fruit is going to soak up the juice.

0:03:40 > 0:03:46- The next ingredient is a pear, but where's the pear?- There!

0:03:46 > 0:03:49- Is it over there? - No. It's on the plate!

0:03:49 > 0:03:56Oh, there's the pear. We're going to snip it up using scissors.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59Remember, be safe with scissors.

0:03:59 > 0:04:03- Everyone knows, we point them down towards our...- Toes.

0:04:03 > 0:04:08Towards our toes. So take your scissors and let's get snipping.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12- Ooh, it's a very soft pear, isn't it, Aisha?- Yes.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14It's slipping away from me!

0:04:16 > 0:04:20- I snipped the pear! - I snipped the pear!

0:04:20 > 0:04:23Snip, snip, snip.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27You can do some snipping with us at home too.

0:04:27 > 0:04:32All you need are your scissors like this and then you can go

0:04:32 > 0:04:34snip, snip, snippety snip.

0:04:34 > 0:04:37Next we have to add our mixed fruit,

0:04:37 > 0:04:41that's soaked up the juice, in with our pear.

0:04:41 > 0:04:47Let's take our big spoon and then scoop up the mixed fruit

0:04:47 > 0:04:50and put it into the big bowl.

0:04:53 > 0:04:59This dish is very fruity, isn't it? Who can do the fruity dance?

0:04:59 > 0:05:01You can join in with us.

0:05:01 > 0:05:05Fruity, fruity, fruity, fruity, fruity, fruity, fruity!

0:05:05 > 0:05:09What do you think we need next in our fruity filo parcels?

0:05:09 > 0:05:14What's next? Let's see if you can guess what it could be.

0:05:19 > 0:05:23So, we've got some milk,

0:05:23 > 0:05:25some butter,

0:05:25 > 0:05:30and some peas. What would you choose for our fruity filo parcels?

0:05:30 > 0:05:33The special ingredient comes from cows.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36Peas don't come from cows, do they?

0:05:36 > 0:05:41They come from plants. So we can definitely take that one away.

0:05:41 > 0:05:43So here's another clue.

0:05:43 > 0:05:48The special ingredient comes from cows and you can spread it on toast.

0:05:48 > 0:05:55You can't spread milk on toast, can you? That would be extremely messy!

0:05:55 > 0:05:59So we can take that one away too. Which leaves us with butter.

0:05:59 > 0:06:03We're going to need some butter for our fruity filo parcels

0:06:03 > 0:06:07and I have been to find some.

0:06:11 > 0:06:15I've come to Wiltshire to find out how butter is made.

0:06:15 > 0:06:18Let's go and find out.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23Butter is made from cream, collected from cows.

0:06:23 > 0:06:28The cream gets poured into this machine here. It's called a churn.

0:06:28 > 0:06:33It's a bit like a washing machine because it goes round and round.

0:06:33 > 0:06:36And it separates the cream into solid butter

0:06:36 > 0:06:39and into a liquid called buttermilk.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42I'm going to help Dave from the dairy

0:06:42 > 0:06:47- pour this cream into the churn. Ready, Dave?- Yes.- OK.

0:06:47 > 0:06:50Oh, it's heavy.

0:06:50 > 0:06:54Wow! Look at all that cream!

0:06:54 > 0:06:57And now we just need to close it and switch on.

0:06:57 > 0:07:02And that spins around for about 40 minutes.

0:07:05 > 0:07:07Wow! Look at that!

0:07:07 > 0:07:11All we need to do now is drain the buttermilk.

0:07:12 > 0:07:18After that, the butter is weighed and then we pat it and wrap it.

0:07:18 > 0:07:22That is going to be perfect to use for our fruity filo parcels.

0:07:22 > 0:07:24- Thanks, Dave.- Bye.

0:07:26 > 0:07:30Butter is so interesting, isn't it? We've got some butter.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32We're going to use it.

0:07:32 > 0:07:38But we need melted butter, so I've melted some butter for all of you.

0:07:38 > 0:07:43And I've got some other ingredients which I'm going to add to it.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46We've got caster sugar and we've got mixed spice,

0:07:46 > 0:07:49which is going to add flavour.

0:07:49 > 0:07:54Let's sprinkle it in. Sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle.

0:07:55 > 0:07:57Oh, love it!

0:07:57 > 0:08:02- What happens when it goes into the butter?- It turns a different colour.

0:08:02 > 0:08:07It does indeed! The butter swallows it all up, doesn't it?

0:08:07 > 0:08:11We're going to use our brush to mix it up, like this.

0:08:11 > 0:08:16- It's a bit like mixing paint, isn't it?- Yay!

0:08:16 > 0:08:18Why don't you do some mixing?

0:08:18 > 0:08:22You can get your bowl and get your brush. Got them?

0:08:22 > 0:08:28- Good, good! And we're going to go mix, mix, mix.- With your brush!

0:08:28 > 0:08:30With your brush, as Nina says.

0:08:30 > 0:08:35Next, we're going to use some filo pastry, which is a lovely type

0:08:35 > 0:08:38of pastry that goes yummy and crispy in the oven.

0:08:38 > 0:08:44It's hiding underneath this damp towel so that it doesn't dry out.

0:08:44 > 0:08:47Take the damp towel off and look!

0:08:47 > 0:08:52- What does it look like, Aisha? - It looks like tissue.- Like tissue.

0:08:52 > 0:08:57- It does look like tissue!- First, we need to do some dib dabbing.

0:08:57 > 0:09:02So, dib, dab, dib, dab, dib, dab, dib, dab, all over the filo pastry.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04It looks like a spotty dog.

0:09:04 > 0:09:08Dib, dab, dib, dab, dib, dab.

0:09:08 > 0:09:10I love dib dabbing!

0:09:10 > 0:09:13We're going to take a big spoonful

0:09:13 > 0:09:19of our fruity mixture and put it at the bottom of the filo pastry.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21- There!- OK, fantastic!

0:09:21 > 0:09:27Now we need to fold the pastry over on this side -

0:09:27 > 0:09:31it's like wrapping up a birthday present -

0:09:31 > 0:09:38and then fold the pastry over on this side. OK, you try that.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45Next, we have to do some more dib dabbing,

0:09:45 > 0:09:51so dip your brush in the butter and then dib dab all over the pastry.

0:09:51 > 0:09:55The next thing we have to do is the roly poly.

0:09:55 > 0:09:59Can everyone do some roly polying? Roll up!

0:09:59 > 0:10:03And then roll down! And then roll it all around!

0:10:03 > 0:10:08Let's do that again really quickly. This time, you can join in with us.

0:10:08 > 0:10:12Roll up! Roll down! And roll it all around!

0:10:12 > 0:10:15- Who's ready to do some rolling? - ALL: Me!

0:10:15 > 0:10:19We have to roll our fruity mixture up in our filo pastry,

0:10:19 > 0:10:22- so it looks like a little pillow. - I've done it!

0:10:23 > 0:10:26That's it. And then put on to your tray.

0:10:26 > 0:10:31Fantastic! And then, you have to do it all over again.

0:10:31 > 0:10:36You start by dib dabbing your piece of pastry.

0:10:36 > 0:10:39Spoon up our mixture.

0:10:39 > 0:10:42And then wrap it up like a birthday present.

0:10:44 > 0:10:48- And then you roly...- Poly.

0:10:48 > 0:10:51And that is it.

0:10:51 > 0:10:55The very last finishing touch is to give it a quick dib dab

0:10:55 > 0:11:00- of butter before we put it in the oven.- It's going to taste nice!

0:11:00 > 0:11:05It's going to taste incredible. And that, everybody, is it!

0:11:05 > 0:11:09You've put the ingredients together for your fruity filo parcels

0:11:09 > 0:11:13and you did it all by yourself. It's time to put them in the oven.

0:11:16 > 0:11:20But remember, ovens are hot, so don't go near.

0:11:20 > 0:11:23Ask a grown-up to help you here.

0:11:25 > 0:11:29# Now we've cooked with you and had lots of fun

0:11:29 > 0:11:34# Let's tidy up and think of all the things that we have done

0:11:34 > 0:11:37# There was measuring, snipping dabbing, rolling

0:11:37 > 0:11:41# Now clearing any mess and putting things away

0:11:41 > 0:11:44# Is always fun to do at the end of the day. #

0:11:46 > 0:11:52Look, everyone. Our food's all cooked and it smells so delicious.

0:11:52 > 0:11:57- Can you smell it?- Yes! - Nina, let's have a look at your one.

0:11:57 > 0:12:03- Oh! Woo! What's happened to the filo pastry?- It's not soft any more.

0:12:03 > 0:12:08- It's gone really hard and crispy. - Cos you put it in the oven.

0:12:08 > 0:12:12You've got it. Let's have a look at Jonah's.

0:12:12 > 0:12:18- Oh! Ho-ho! What's happened to it, Jonah?- It has exploded in the oven!

0:12:18 > 0:12:23- And what's coming out of it? - Raisins.

0:12:23 > 0:12:28Let's put the lids on top and we'll save this to eat later on.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31We've travelled to you, we've cooked and had fun,

0:12:31 > 0:12:33now let's have a party with everyone!
