0:21:31 > 0:21:33ALL: Yeah!

0:21:33 > 0:21:35Come on, let's go. This way!

0:21:38 > 0:21:42Welcome to my outdoor kitchen! Who's excited?

0:21:42 > 0:21:43ALL: Me!

0:21:43 > 0:21:46Me too! Who wants to know what we're going to cook today?

0:21:46 > 0:21:48ALL: Me!

0:21:48 > 0:21:53Well, today we're going to cook cheesy pasta rolls. Look at this.

0:21:54 > 0:21:56ALL: Wow!

0:21:56 > 0:21:58Smells good, doesn't it? ALL: Yeah!

0:21:58 > 0:22:02Before we get started, we've got to do something really important.

0:22:02 > 0:22:03What do you think it is?

0:22:03 > 0:22:05ALL: Wash our hands!

0:22:05 > 0:22:09Of course, we have to wash our hands. Let's go, everyone.

0:22:14 > 0:22:17# Roll up your sleeves Give your hands a wash

0:22:17 > 0:22:19# With slippy dippy soap

0:22:19 > 0:22:20# Splish, splash, splosh!

0:22:20 > 0:22:23# Have you done your hands? Washed and dried?

0:22:23 > 0:22:26# Sleeves rolled up Aprons tied

0:22:26 > 0:22:29# What can you do? I can cook! #

0:22:31 > 0:22:34Right then, everyone, let's get started

0:22:34 > 0:22:36on our cheesy pasta rolls.

0:22:36 > 0:22:38Are you ready? ALL: Yeah!

0:22:38 > 0:22:41Now the first ingredient we need is chilli flakes.

0:22:41 > 0:22:44Chilli flakes will add a really great flavour.

0:22:44 > 0:22:50They will add some kazaam to our recipe! Can everyone go, "Kazaam"?

0:22:50 > 0:22:52ALL: Kazaam!

0:22:52 > 0:22:56We need a pinch of chilli flakes, and for that, we need our pinchy parrot.

0:22:56 > 0:22:59So make a pinchy parrot. You put your thumb down

0:22:59 > 0:23:03put our two fingers down on top

0:23:03 > 0:23:07and you do a really big squawk like this, "Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!"

0:23:07 > 0:23:11And then take a pinch of chilli flakes with your pinchy parrot

0:23:11 > 0:23:15and put it into this cup of chopped tomatoes.

0:23:15 > 0:23:17We're going to wipe our hands.

0:23:17 > 0:23:20Chilli flakes have a really strong flavour.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22We don't want them anywhere near our eyes.

0:23:22 > 0:23:25Then we're going to take a spoon and mix them in.

0:23:28 > 0:23:32What's happened to all the chilli flakes, Freya?

0:23:32 > 0:23:35- They've gone into the tomatoes. - Yeah, they've disappeared!

0:23:35 > 0:23:38Next we need our pinchy parrots again!

0:23:38 > 0:23:40Where's your pinchy parrot?

0:23:40 > 0:23:45ALL: Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!

0:23:45 > 0:23:47They are loud parrots.

0:23:47 > 0:23:48Take a pinch of pepper

0:23:48 > 0:23:53and we're going to put this into this bowl of ricotta cheese.

0:23:53 > 0:23:56This is a really lovely cheese.

0:23:56 > 0:23:58It's really smooth and creamy.

0:23:58 > 0:24:02I wonder what ingredient we need next for our cheesy pasta rolls?

0:24:02 > 0:24:03What's next?

0:24:03 > 0:24:07Well let us see if you can guess what it could be.

0:24:09 > 0:24:10So, we've got a lime,

0:24:10 > 0:24:15we've got some mint and some raspberries.

0:24:15 > 0:24:19What would you choose for our cheesy pasta rolls?

0:24:19 > 0:24:21I'll give you some clues.

0:24:21 > 0:24:24The special ingredient is green.

0:24:24 > 0:24:26Well, raspberries are red.

0:24:26 > 0:24:28So let's take that one away for a start.

0:24:28 > 0:24:30Here's another clue.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33The special ingredient is green and it's a herb.

0:24:33 > 0:24:34Limes are green,

0:24:34 > 0:24:37but they're not a herb, are they?

0:24:37 > 0:24:40They're a fruit. So let's take that one away as well.

0:24:40 > 0:24:42So that leaves us with mint.

0:24:42 > 0:24:45We need some mint for our cheesy pasta rolls.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54Mint is something you can easily grow

0:24:54 > 0:24:56and you don't even need that much space.

0:24:56 > 0:25:00The first thing you need is a little tray like this

0:25:00 > 0:25:04and then put some soil inside of it. You need to keep the soil wet.

0:25:04 > 0:25:09So I'm going to give it a little water first of all. Give it a drink.

0:25:11 > 0:25:15Once that soil has soaked up all of the water,

0:25:15 > 0:25:19we're going it need our mint seeds, which we've got over here.

0:25:19 > 0:25:20And look at these.

0:25:20 > 0:25:22They are so, so small!

0:25:22 > 0:25:27Now we're going to sprinkle the seeds all over the soil.

0:25:27 > 0:25:31You can't even see them once you spread them. There we go.

0:25:31 > 0:25:33Then we cover the seeds with all the soil

0:25:33 > 0:25:36and we need to keep them really nice and warm.

0:25:36 > 0:25:39So we're going to get some clingfilm and cover them up.

0:25:39 > 0:25:42It's a bit like making a little greenhouse.

0:25:45 > 0:25:48And after a few weeks, tiny little green shoots

0:25:48 > 0:25:52will start to sprout through the soil, like these here.

0:25:52 > 0:25:54Can you see them?

0:25:54 > 0:25:56Then after about a month,

0:25:56 > 0:26:00you'll get a lovely big mint plant, like this one here.

0:26:00 > 0:26:02Perfect to use on our cheesy pasta rolls.

0:26:05 > 0:26:07Here's the mint that I've grown

0:26:07 > 0:26:10and we're going to use it in our recipe.

0:26:10 > 0:26:14Rub the mint leaf between your fingers, like this, and smell it.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16ALL: Mmm!

0:26:16 > 0:26:21Amazing, isn't it? We've got a cup of spinach leaves over here

0:26:21 > 0:26:25and we're going to count five mint leaves into our spinach.

0:26:25 > 0:26:27So let's count, ready?

0:26:27 > 0:26:30A-one, two, three...

0:26:30 > 0:26:33four, five.

0:26:33 > 0:26:36And now it's time to do some snipping.

0:26:36 > 0:26:38To do snipping, what will we use, girls?

0:26:38 > 0:26:40ALL: Scissors!

0:26:40 > 0:26:42But remember - be safe with scissors.

0:26:42 > 0:26:46Everyone knows that we point them down towards our...?

0:26:46 > 0:26:47ALL: Toes!

0:26:47 > 0:26:49Got it! Let's get snipping!

0:26:49 > 0:26:52It smells minty.

0:26:52 > 0:26:54It smells minty!

0:26:54 > 0:26:56You can do some snipping with us at home too.

0:26:56 > 0:27:00Get your scissors like this and go... Snip, snip, snip.

0:27:00 > 0:27:02Keep snipping, everyone.

0:27:02 > 0:27:04Snip. Snip. Snip.

0:27:04 > 0:27:06Once you've finished snipping,

0:27:06 > 0:27:11you can put the mint leaves and spinach leaves

0:27:11 > 0:27:14into your bowl of cheese.

0:27:14 > 0:27:16ALL: Put the leaves in the cheese!

0:27:16 > 0:27:19When the scissors touch the bowl,

0:27:19 > 0:27:22- it sounds like music. - It does, doesn't it?

0:27:22 > 0:27:25Then we're going to give everything in that bowl

0:27:25 > 0:27:27a good mix with our spoon.

0:27:27 > 0:27:31Whizz it around, everyone. Remember to do this at home.

0:27:31 > 0:27:34Get your bowl... Got it?

0:27:34 > 0:27:36Get your spoon... Got it?

0:27:36 > 0:27:38And mix, mix, mix.

0:27:38 > 0:27:40Next, we're going to use this -

0:27:40 > 0:27:42it's a pasta sheet.

0:27:42 > 0:27:44Have you ever had pasta like this before?

0:27:44 > 0:27:48Yeah, I have. I've used it for lasagne.

0:27:48 > 0:27:50It's really tasty, isn't it?

0:27:50 > 0:27:52We'll take this pasta

0:27:52 > 0:27:56and we have to fold it in half, like this. Can you see?

0:27:56 > 0:27:59Then you can break it into two pieces.

0:27:59 > 0:28:02It looks like two little wings. That's it.

0:28:02 > 0:28:06So we're going to spread our cheesy mixture all over these pasta sheets

0:28:06 > 0:28:12and we're going to take a really big spoonful of our cheesy mixture

0:28:12 > 0:28:16and put that spoonful on top of one of the pasta sheets.

0:28:16 > 0:28:22Then get another big spoonful and put that on top of the other pasta sheet.

0:28:22 > 0:28:25You need the same amount on each sheet.

0:28:25 > 0:28:27I can see little green bits.

0:28:27 > 0:28:30So who is ready to do some spreading?

0:28:30 > 0:28:32ALL: Me!

0:28:32 > 0:28:35We're going to spread our mixture over the pasta sheets

0:28:35 > 0:28:38using a knife. Now, some knives can be sharp,

0:28:38 > 0:28:40so you do have to be really careful,

0:28:40 > 0:28:42but this is just a table knife,

0:28:42 > 0:28:45the kind of knife you might be used to using at home

0:28:45 > 0:28:47and it's fine for us to use.

0:28:47 > 0:28:50So, girls, are you ready to do some spreading?

0:28:50 > 0:28:51ALL: Yeah!

0:28:51 > 0:28:55Let's get going. It's a bit like spreading butter on toast.

0:28:55 > 0:28:57- Have you done that before?- I have.

0:28:57 > 0:28:59It's like painting a pretty picture.

0:28:59 > 0:29:03It looks like you're making a snow picture,

0:29:03 > 0:29:05and the leaves fall down in the snow.

0:29:05 > 0:29:09Like a house, but it hasn't got a chimney, so it looks like a tower.

0:29:09 > 0:29:12A very pretty house with lots of patterns over it.

0:29:12 > 0:29:15Once you've finished spreading, everyone,

0:29:15 > 0:29:17we are going to do some rolling.

0:29:17 > 0:29:19So let's roll up...

0:29:19 > 0:29:21roll down...

0:29:21 > 0:29:23and then roll it all around.

0:29:23 > 0:29:26Why don't you join in with the rolling dance?

0:29:26 > 0:29:29Roll up, roll down...

0:29:29 > 0:29:32and roll it all around!

0:29:32 > 0:29:35Who's ready to roll their pasta?

0:29:35 > 0:29:37ALL: Me!

0:29:37 > 0:29:40I'll show you how to do it. We have to be careful doing this.

0:29:40 > 0:29:43So get your fingers on the top bit

0:29:43 > 0:29:46and roll it up so it looks like a mini rolling pin.

0:29:46 > 0:29:47Look at this. Can you see?

0:29:47 > 0:29:50And the pasta might break a little bit,

0:29:50 > 0:29:53but that's fine. Don't worry about that.

0:29:53 > 0:29:55It's a bit fiddly, isn't it, Jada?

0:29:55 > 0:29:57It's got bigger and bigger.

0:29:57 > 0:29:59That's perfect. That absolutely great.

0:29:59 > 0:30:01Don't worry if it squeezes out the end.

0:30:01 > 0:30:05That's probably going to make it taste even better.

0:30:05 > 0:30:08OK, the next thing we're going to do is take our spoon

0:30:08 > 0:30:12and scoop up some of our tomato mixture

0:30:12 > 0:30:17and put it into your dish. You don't want to use all of it, though,

0:30:17 > 0:30:20only half of it, and spread it around at the bottom of the dish.

0:30:20 > 0:30:25OK, and now it's time to put our lovely cheesy pasta rolls

0:30:25 > 0:30:27into their tomato bath!

0:30:27 > 0:30:32There's one, and then you can scoop up the rest of the tomato

0:30:32 > 0:30:38and put it on top, but make sure you cover all of the pasta rolls.

0:30:38 > 0:30:42So cover them all up like a tomato blanket.

0:30:43 > 0:30:46And who's ready for the final part?

0:30:46 > 0:30:47ALL: Me!

0:30:47 > 0:30:52We're going to take some cheddar cheese and sprinkle it on top.

0:30:52 > 0:30:56Sprinkle! Sprinkle! Sprinkle! GIRLS: Sprinkle! Sprinkle! Sprinkle!

0:30:56 > 0:30:58- Finished!- Finished!

0:30:58 > 0:31:00Everyone say "cheese"!

0:31:00 > 0:31:02ALL: Cheese!

0:31:02 > 0:31:04Well, that's it, girls, you've done it.

0:31:04 > 0:31:09You've put all the ingredients together for your cheesy pasta rolls,

0:31:09 > 0:31:13all by yourself. Now it's time to put them in the oven,

0:31:13 > 0:31:17But remember, ovens are hot, so don't go near.

0:31:17 > 0:31:20Ask a grown-up to help you here.

0:31:21 > 0:31:23# Now we've cooked with you

0:31:23 > 0:31:25# And had lots of fun

0:31:25 > 0:31:29# Let's tidy up and think of all the things that we have done! #

0:31:29 > 0:31:33- There was...- Mixing.- Spreading. - Rolling!- And...- Snipping!

0:31:33 > 0:31:38# Clearing any mess Putting things away

0:31:38 > 0:31:41# Is always fun to do at the end of the day! #

0:31:43 > 0:31:46Look, girls, our food's all cooked in the oven.

0:31:46 > 0:31:50It smells absolutely amazing. Let's have a look at yours, Freya.

0:31:50 > 0:31:53It looks like a sausage roll.

0:31:53 > 0:31:57Yes, a tomato sausage roll, but there's no sausage in it.

0:31:57 > 0:31:59And what happened to yours in the oven?

0:31:59 > 0:32:04The cheese is all melted and the tomato has gone all sloppy.

0:32:04 > 0:32:06Let's have a look at yours, Jada.

0:32:06 > 0:32:09Jada, it looks brilliant.

0:32:09 > 0:32:12- What's this bit sticking up here? - The cheesy pasta.

0:32:12 > 0:32:15The cheesy pasta! Can you point to where the mint is?

0:32:15 > 0:32:17That's the baby leaf,

0:32:17 > 0:32:20that's the mummy leaf and that's the daddy leaf.

0:32:20 > 0:32:24Oh, yes! Are you looking forward to eating it?

0:32:24 > 0:32:27This is making me extremely hungry! Is it making you hungry too?

0:32:27 > 0:32:29ALL: Yeah!

0:32:29 > 0:32:31Let's save our food for this afternoon.

0:32:31 > 0:32:35We travelled to you, we've cooked and had fun.

0:32:35 > 0:32:38Now let's have a party, with everyone!

0:32:38 > 0:32:39ALL: Yeah!

0:32:39 > 0:32:43Come on, you can come with us. Let's go, girls.

0:32:45 > 0:32:48Come on, let's go share our food.

0:32:50 > 0:32:54Look at that! Did you make that? Wow, it's really good.

0:32:54 > 0:32:56You've done a good job.

0:32:56 > 0:32:58- Did you make this yourself?- Yeah.

0:32:58 > 0:33:01It looks nice. How did you get the mint?

0:33:01 > 0:33:02Katy grew it.

0:33:02 > 0:33:04Katy grew it? Wow!

0:33:04 > 0:33:08Mmm, that's yummy. That's delicious.

0:33:08 > 0:33:11What can you taste? Is it the chilli?

0:33:11 > 0:33:13Hot!

0:33:13 > 0:33:14Shall I get the fire engine in?

0:33:14 > 0:33:17Nee-naw, nee-naw, nee-naw!

0:33:20 > 0:33:22So, what can you do?
