0:02:23 > 0:02:26# What can you do? I can cook. #

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Right, let's get started.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34The first thing we must do to make our pepper boats

0:02:34 > 0:02:39- is pop a pepper. Everyone say, "pop a pepper".- ALL: Pop a pepper.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42And we're going to do that using our thumbs.

0:02:42 > 0:02:46Put your thumbs up in the air like this and go...

0:02:46 > 0:02:47Yeah!

0:02:47 > 0:02:51- ALL: Yeah!- Everyone go "yeah, yeah, yeah".- ALL: Yeah, yeah, yeah!

0:02:51 > 0:02:55We're going to use these thumbs to put them on top of

0:02:55 > 0:02:59this little green button on top of the pepper,

0:02:59 > 0:03:03which is where the stalk comes from. So put your thumbs on top.

0:03:03 > 0:03:07We'll push down using all our might and pop the pepper.

0:03:07 > 0:03:12Ready, push and pop. Look at that. Pop!

0:03:12 > 0:03:15- My button went inside. - You did a great job, Shahzad.

0:03:15 > 0:03:20Then, we're going to gently rip the pepper into two halves.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23R-r-r-rip! Go!

0:03:23 > 0:03:25THEY LAUGH

0:03:25 > 0:03:30And what are all these little things that you can see inside the pepper?

0:03:30 > 0:03:33- Seeds.- The seeds. And we don't want to eat the seeds,

0:03:33 > 0:03:37so we're going to turn the peppers over like this

0:03:37 > 0:03:40and pretend that they're little pepper drums.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42# Dum-dum dum-dum dum dum dum. #

0:03:42 > 0:03:47You've got it, that's it, we play our pepper drums.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50# Do do do do do do do. #

0:03:50 > 0:03:52And stop.

0:03:52 > 0:03:57The next thing we're going to do is snip some of these lovely tomatoes.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00What do you think we'll find inside of them, Myla?

0:04:00 > 0:04:05- Juice and seeds. - Yes! Juice and lots of seeds.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08So let's snip them and find those seeds.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11So we'll use our scissors to do the snipping,

0:04:11 > 0:04:13Be safe with scissors.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16Everybody knows we point them down towards our...?

0:04:16 > 0:04:18- ALL: Toes.- You've got it, team.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21Woo!

0:04:21 > 0:04:24Do a big snip. Wooh!

0:04:24 > 0:04:25THEY LAUGH

0:04:25 > 0:04:27What's happening to the tomato?

0:04:27 > 0:04:30It's exploding. I can see seeds inside.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32Lots of juice.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35Don't forget you can snip with us at home.

0:04:35 > 0:04:40Get your scissors like this and then you go snip, snip, snippity snip.

0:04:40 > 0:04:44That's it! And I want you to pour your tomatoes into this bowl.

0:04:44 > 0:04:46Splat, splat, splat, splat.

0:04:46 > 0:04:50- Go splat, splat, splat. - ALL: Splat, splat, splat!

0:04:50 > 0:04:51THEY LAUGH

0:04:51 > 0:04:54The next ingredient we'll add is olive oil.

0:04:54 > 0:04:56Take your olive oil

0:04:56 > 0:05:00and I want you to splosh it in with your tomatoes.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Ready? Splosh!

0:05:02 > 0:05:05- It's sticky and gooey.- It is.

0:05:05 > 0:05:11Next we need a pinch of black pepper and the help of our pinchy parrot

0:05:11 > 0:05:14I'll show you how to make a pinchy parrot.

0:05:14 > 0:05:19Put your thumb down, put two fingers on top and do a squawk like this.

0:05:19 > 0:05:24- ALL: Squawk!- Oh, my goodness me!

0:05:24 > 0:05:28He's very hungry today so he's going to take a pinch of black pepper.

0:05:28 > 0:05:32And sprinkle it in with your tomatoes and olive oil.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35The next ingredient we add is these.

0:05:35 > 0:05:39They're called pine nuts and they're so tasty.

0:05:39 > 0:05:44But if you can't eat nuts, you can add anything that you want to.

0:05:44 > 0:05:47So hold the handle

0:05:47 > 0:05:52and then load your spoon up with a big mountain of pine nuts.

0:05:52 > 0:05:56Carefully bring it over to your bowl and...whoosh!

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Looking great!

0:05:58 > 0:06:02What ingredient so we need next in our pepper boats?

0:06:02 > 0:06:05What is next? Well, let us see...

0:06:05 > 0:06:08if you can guess what it could be!

0:06:09 > 0:06:13So, we've got a carrot,

0:06:13 > 0:06:16some basil and some peas, too.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19What would you choose for our pepper boats?

0:06:19 > 0:06:22I'll give you clues and you can guess what it is.

0:06:22 > 0:06:27OK, so first clue is that the special ingredient is green.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31Carrots aren't green! They're orange so let's take that one away.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33OK, here's another clue.

0:06:33 > 0:06:37So the special ingredient is green and it's a type of herb.

0:06:37 > 0:06:42Well, peas aren't a type of herb, they're a vegetable.

0:06:42 > 0:06:44So we can take that one away, too.

0:06:44 > 0:06:50Which leaves us with basil. We'll need some basil in our pepper boats.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59You can grow basil all by yourself

0:06:59 > 0:07:03and you don't even need that much space to do it.

0:07:03 > 0:07:05You need a little pot like this,

0:07:05 > 0:07:11some soil and some basil seeds, which look like this.

0:07:11 > 0:07:14They're really tiny, aren't they?

0:07:14 > 0:07:20To turn these basil seeds into a basil plant, we need to plant them.

0:07:20 > 0:07:22We plant them in a little pot.

0:07:22 > 0:07:27I've got a yoghurt pot and put some soil inside of it.

0:07:27 > 0:07:33So we need to make a little hole and put the basil seeds inside it.

0:07:33 > 0:07:36Then push them down

0:07:36 > 0:07:40and cover it up with some soil.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Now, like you and I, all plants need water to grow.

0:07:43 > 0:07:47So we need to water our basil plant with this.

0:07:49 > 0:07:55And then if we leave it somewhere warm, after about two weeks,

0:07:55 > 0:07:58little green shoots will come through.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00The leaves are tiny!

0:08:00 > 0:08:03If we look after our basil plants,

0:08:03 > 0:08:08they'll grow really big, like this one. Look, the leaves are huge!

0:08:08 > 0:08:12We'll use this basil in our pepper boats.

0:08:13 > 0:08:18Here is the basil all grown up. We're using it in our recipe.

0:08:18 > 0:08:21We've got a few leaves here, you can see.

0:08:21 > 0:08:26When you tear up this basil, it's got a really strong smell.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29- Shall we all rip it up and smell it?- Yeah.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32Come on then, Let's rip and tear! Like this.

0:08:32 > 0:08:36Tear and rip.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38Rip and tear.

0:08:38 > 0:08:41It's like tearing paper.

0:08:41 > 0:08:46- Ah, I can smell it! - I can smell something very good.

0:08:46 > 0:08:49It smells delicious, doesn't it?

0:08:49 > 0:08:55Once you've ripped up your basil leaves, tip them into your bowl.

0:08:55 > 0:09:00- It looks yummy.- It looks super yummy! I agree with you.

0:09:00 > 0:09:03Hold your bowl and spoon. Let's get mixing!

0:09:03 > 0:09:06- ALL: Let's get mixing!- Woo-hoo!

0:09:06 > 0:09:08Mix, mix, mix, mix!

0:09:11 > 0:09:13It looks squishy!

0:09:13 > 0:09:19Get your bowl and get your spoon, and go "Mix, mix, mix!"

0:09:19 > 0:09:22That's it, keep mixing with us.

0:09:22 > 0:09:26OK, now we're going to scoop the mixture out of the bowl

0:09:26 > 0:09:30and put it into our peppers. Scoop!

0:09:33 > 0:09:36Then get another giant scoop...

0:09:36 > 0:09:38Scoop!

0:09:38 > 0:09:42..and put it in your other one.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45We've got so many colours in our peppers now.

0:09:45 > 0:09:50We've got the yellow colour of our pepper, the red of the tomato

0:09:50 > 0:09:53and the green of the basil. It's a rainbow dish!

0:09:53 > 0:09:57Our next ingredient is called goat's cheese.

0:09:57 > 0:10:00- I love it.- You love it?- Me too!

0:10:00 > 0:10:03Well, goat's cheese comes from goat's milk

0:10:03 > 0:10:06and most cheese usually comes from cow's milk.

0:10:06 > 0:10:11We're going to split this goat's cheese in half, like this.

0:10:11 > 0:10:12Can you do that?

0:10:12 > 0:10:18We're going to crumble it on top of our peppers. Crumble, crumble!

0:10:19 > 0:10:22Look at this, it's fantastic!

0:10:22 > 0:10:27Do one half at a time. So half goes in one pepper and half in the other.

0:10:27 > 0:10:30It's sticky wicky!

0:10:30 > 0:10:35There we go. That's it, you did it!

0:10:35 > 0:10:39You made your pepper boat all by yourself.

0:10:39 > 0:10:42Now it's time to put them in the oven.

0:10:44 > 0:10:47Remember ovens are hot so don't go near.

0:10:47 > 0:10:51Ask a grown-up to help you here.

0:10:51 > 0:10:54# Now we've cooked with you

0:10:54 > 0:10:55# And had lots of fun

0:10:55 > 0:10:59# Let's tidy up and think of all the things that we have done

0:10:59 > 0:11:02- # There was... - Mixing!- Popping!- Cutting!

0:11:02 > 0:11:03- # And...- Snipping!

0:11:03 > 0:11:07# Now clearing any mess and putting things away

0:11:07 > 0:11:12# Is always fun to do at the end of the day! #

0:11:12 > 0:11:18And here they are, team. They're all cooked and ready to eat!

0:11:18 > 0:11:22- That's yours.- And that's yours! - That's mine.

0:11:22 > 0:11:25Shall we have a look at Myla's? Open it up, Myla!

0:11:25 > 0:11:32- Wow!- Ooo! Can you see what's happened to the pepper here?

0:11:32 > 0:11:36- It's gone all crumbly. - It's gone wrinkly and orange!

0:11:36 > 0:11:40In the oven, the pepper's gone like this...

0:11:40 > 0:11:44- It's gone wrinkly! - It feels tickly.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47Oh, yeah, and all knobbly!

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Let's look at Shahzad's.

0:11:50 > 0:11:58It looks like it was a on a pizza with a giant pepper on it!

0:11:58 > 0:12:00It looks amazing in our tum.

0:12:00 > 0:12:03I think it will be yummy in our tummies.

0:12:03 > 0:12:07OK, everyone, let's put our lids on top and save our food for later on.

0:12:07 > 0:12:10We've travelled to you, cooked and had fun.

0:12:15 > 0:12:19Come on! You can come with us. Follow me, everyone.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23- Who is hungry?- ALL: Me!

0:12:23 > 0:12:28We've got some time before our boat leaves so shall we share our food?

0:12:28 > 0:12:33- ALL: Yes.- Come on, then, what are we waiting for?

0:12:33 > 0:12:36Mummy, look what I made. Pepper boats!

0:12:36 > 0:12:40Beautiful. What did you love about cooking today?

0:12:46 > 0:12:51This is so delicious. I really like that!

0:12:51 > 0:12:55- Oh, it looks yummy. Can you taste cheese?- Yeah, goat's cheese.

0:12:55 > 0:12:59Hmm, great! Do you like it?

0:12:59 > 0:13:03So, Myla, what would you make if you made this dish,

0:13:03 > 0:13:10- but a sweet version, like a pudding? - Apple.- What could we fill it with?

0:13:10 > 0:13:12Sugar and some strawberries.

0:13:12 > 0:13:16That's a great idea. We should do that next time!

0:13:16 > 0:13:22- So everybody, what can you do? - ALL: I can cook with me and with you!
