0:00:02 > 0:00:04Ever dreamed of a new room? Of taking control

0:00:04 > 0:00:06and designing it yourself?

0:00:06 > 0:00:10I Want My Own Room makes your designer dreams come true.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12Oh!

0:00:31 > 0:00:37Have you got big ideas for your bedroom, but only a tiny space to put them in?

0:00:38 > 0:00:44Are you constantly being told to move on until there's nowhere left to practise your hobbies?

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Get out of it, Rogers!

0:00:48 > 0:00:54Fear not, because on I Want My Own Room, you get control of the house to design the room of your dreams.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56Let's meet today's cramped kid.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59My name's Zak and I'm under attack!

0:01:00 > 0:01:03EVIL CACKLE

0:01:03 > 0:01:05Zak needs somewhere to make stuff in peace,

0:01:05 > 0:01:09so we get Mum and Dad to give him control of the house.

0:01:09 > 0:01:10Yes!

0:01:10 > 0:01:14An accomplished designer helps put his plans into action...

0:01:14 > 0:01:17- So will they all sit round a circle like you do a Cub camp?- Yeah.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20They search for ideas on a trip to a museum...

0:01:20 > 0:01:22- What do you think of that?- It's cool.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25And his parents are forced to chip in.

0:01:25 > 0:01:26Right, you two, come here!

0:01:26 > 0:01:31But with just four days to finish, not everything runs smoothly...

0:01:31 > 0:01:33Oh, no!

0:01:33 > 0:01:35Gently, you're going to kill me!

0:01:36 > 0:01:39- So let's watch the show.- Cool.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45Ten-year-old Zak is nuts about nature.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47Whether it's catching fish...

0:01:47 > 0:01:51..or camping, he's always up for getting out and about.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56But when it comes to being indoors, his family are right bores.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59- Zak, what are you doing? - None of your business!

0:01:59 > 0:02:01What's this? What's this?

0:02:01 > 0:02:04- Give it back!- What's this, water? What's this?

0:02:04 > 0:02:09Sharing a room with bouncing brother Ted means there's no space left to make stuff.

0:02:09 > 0:02:13- The living room's Dad's turf... - Oh, come on, mate, not in here!

0:02:13 > 0:02:17And Mum's office is out of bounds too.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Don't even think about it.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26Time for me to step in and help Zak find the space he needs.

0:02:29 > 0:02:30- Hello, Zak!- Hello.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32- Do you want to come in? - Thank you very much.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37- Where shall we go first? - Up to my bedroom.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39Lead the way.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44So this is my room which I share with my brother Ted.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46So what do you like to do in the room?

0:02:46 > 0:02:51I like building models and things. If I'm, like, making something,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53he can just get on my nerves a lot.

0:02:53 > 0:02:58- Is there anything about the room that you like? - Well, I really like that window,

0:02:58 > 0:03:02because you can just see outdoors and see all the trees and the grass and everything.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04Is there anywhere else in the house we can see?

0:03:04 > 0:03:07- Just next door we've got a spare room.- Oh?

0:03:07 > 0:03:11- It's massive.- I know. - What's this room used for?

0:03:11 > 0:03:17It's a bit of a storeroom, really. We just have all the school clothes and the Scout clothes

0:03:17 > 0:03:21- and football stuff. - Who sleeps in that bed there?

0:03:21 > 0:03:26When my grandma and grandad come down, they usually sleep in here,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28and there's, like, a bed under there that you can pull out.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30What do you think should happen?

0:03:30 > 0:03:35Well, I think it's about time this became my room because that was the plan originally,

0:03:35 > 0:03:37but it's just not happened yet.

0:03:38 > 0:03:42So Zak's got nowhere to make things without being disturbed.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45We've decided the spare room would be the perfect place for him to spread out,

0:03:45 > 0:03:49but are Mum and Dad ready to hand over control?

0:03:50 > 0:03:52- We've had a look around the house, haven't we, Zak?- Yeah.

0:03:52 > 0:03:56Massive spare room and loads of space. What is going on there?

0:03:56 > 0:03:59- Other than we use it for storage... - It's convenient for us.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02It's not convenient for me cos I have to stay in the same room as Ted.

0:04:02 > 0:04:07Enough excuses! I think it's time you found out what it's like to live like Zak.

0:04:07 > 0:04:12So Zak and I measured the available floor space in he and Ted's room. We've halved it,

0:04:12 > 0:04:16obviously, because there's two of them, they've got to share it, and this is what we're left with.

0:04:16 > 0:04:20Perhaps you could have a little game of tennis in the available floor space.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22I don't think this is going to end well.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25- And off we go! - It's a little bit dangerous!

0:04:25 > 0:04:28Gently, you're going to kill me!

0:04:29 > 0:04:33- Oh!- No, it's not really like watching Wimbledon, is it, let's be fair.- Not really.

0:04:36 > 0:04:38We just need a touch more space.

0:04:38 > 0:04:39Sounds a bit familiar!

0:04:39 > 0:04:42- They're starting to realise.- Yeah.

0:04:44 > 0:04:48So you must understand now the point that Zak and I are making. There's just not enough space.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50- No, agreed.- Yeah. Point taken.

0:04:52 > 0:04:57Here are the keys to your house, guys. It's time to give Zak control.

0:04:57 > 0:05:04Do you agree to let Zak redesign your house in any way he chooses to give him more space?

0:05:04 > 0:05:06DRUM ROLL

0:05:09 > 0:05:12- CHEERING - Yes!

0:05:13 > 0:05:16So Zak is now officially...

0:05:16 > 0:05:19He'll get to tell Mum and Dad what to do.

0:05:19 > 0:05:23And it all needs to happen in just...

0:05:23 > 0:05:30To help Zak transform the space is Becci Sharkey, a top-notch designer with an eye for detail.

0:05:30 > 0:05:33There's no idea too big. If you can imagine it, I can design it.

0:05:33 > 0:05:39She's just the person to turn that boring spare room into a model-maker's paradise.

0:05:39 > 0:05:42Well, I really like making things.

0:05:42 > 0:05:44So it would be really good if I could have an area

0:05:44 > 0:05:49where I could just make models of things or stuff like that, really.

0:05:49 > 0:05:52So what other hobbies have you got that might help with the design?

0:05:52 > 0:05:55Well, I'm really into, like, the planets.

0:05:55 > 0:06:01maybe we could put, like, pictures of the stars and the planets up on the ceiling.

0:06:01 > 0:06:07Next, Becci sketches out a plan of the room and Zak decides what will go where.

0:06:07 > 0:06:12Well, I definitely need a bed. I want it to be more adventurous than just a normal bed.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15It might have some kind of big poster around it, maybe,

0:06:15 > 0:06:18that sort of reflects the outdoorsy theme.

0:06:18 > 0:06:21- Oh, cool, like you're actually camping outside somewhere.- Yeah.

0:06:21 > 0:06:24- What else do you think you need in the room?- I need some kind of desk

0:06:24 > 0:06:29- where I can build things and make models.- That's a brilliant idea.

0:06:29 > 0:06:33Time for Becci to take Zak on a design expedition.

0:06:34 > 0:06:35- Cool!- Cool!

0:06:35 > 0:06:39I'm loving your idea of bringing the outdoors in, but what else is important?

0:06:39 > 0:06:42Well, I'd like some kind of area where I can creative

0:06:42 > 0:06:46- and I can make new things that I might not have made before. - Mmm, brilliant!

0:06:46 > 0:06:53Becci's hoping that this science museum with its life-size models, planetarium and workshop

0:06:53 > 0:06:55will get Zak's imagination fired up.

0:06:55 > 0:06:57Whoa!

0:06:57 > 0:07:03Now, I know this is a lot bigger than your room, but I brought you here so we can think big with your design.

0:07:03 > 0:07:04Cool.

0:07:04 > 0:07:10So big, in fact, that Zak could fit his new room into this space 242 times.

0:07:10 > 0:07:12So before we have a good look round,

0:07:12 > 0:07:16- I've got a camera here so you can take photos of anything you like the look of.- Wow!

0:07:24 > 0:07:28- So what do you think of all the stuff in here?- There's a lot of stuff that's sort of like what I make,

0:07:28 > 0:07:30but it's not exactly the same.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Like the kites over there.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36- How do you see that fitting into the design?- When I've made a few models,

0:07:36 > 0:07:40I've probably just put them maybe on the shelf around where the making area is.

0:07:40 > 0:07:45When I saw all the things that I usually make, but on a bigger scale,

0:07:45 > 0:07:50I was, like, really excited, and I thought this is really going to help me with inspiration.

0:07:50 > 0:07:54Next, Becci boldly goes where no designer has gone before...

0:07:54 > 0:07:58In the planetarium, a special projector beams light on to a dome-shaped ceiling.

0:07:58 > 0:08:03It's like looking up at the night sky from the comfort of a theatre seat.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06Er...I think I can see the Plough over there.

0:08:06 > 0:08:10- Oh, this bit down here? - Yeah. I just feel like I'm outside.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12That's Jupiter.

0:08:12 > 0:08:15That's Saturn because of the massive rings around it.

0:08:15 > 0:08:22The sky's the limit in this space, but how might the stars and planets work in Zak's new room?

0:08:22 > 0:08:27What I want it to be is sort of like half of the planet sort of sticking out of the ceiling.

0:08:30 > 0:08:33- What do you think of that?- It's cool.

0:08:33 > 0:08:38- Now, this is the workshop area where they make and fix things for the museum.- Brilliant!

0:08:38 > 0:08:43It's not long before Zak starts seeing how having his very own workshop might fit in.

0:08:44 > 0:08:47Well, I think it's just going to be sort of like one little area

0:08:47 > 0:08:51where it's going to be all, like, this place where I can make things and stuff,

0:08:51 > 0:08:53instead of where it's all, like, outdoorsy.

0:08:53 > 0:08:56So I wanted to show you this cupboard.

0:08:56 > 0:09:01Wow! Awesome! There's so much, like, stuff in here.

0:09:01 > 0:09:05Well, I really like the cupboard with all the stuff in it,

0:09:05 > 0:09:07because you could just fit so much stuff inside it.

0:09:07 > 0:09:09It's really cool.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12Fitting that workshop into an outdoor theme is going to be tricky.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15I'm even more excited about making the room now

0:09:15 > 0:09:19cos I can just see some more things in it that are going to make it even better.

0:09:19 > 0:09:24Zak's had so many good ideas. Now all I need to do is bring it all together,

0:09:24 > 0:09:27finalise the plans... It's going to be amazing.

0:09:27 > 0:09:32So once Becci's worked up the design, Zak gets everyone started back at the house.

0:09:37 > 0:09:44So, Mum and Dad, Zak isn't just in control of redesigning his room, he's also in control of you!

0:09:44 > 0:09:48And the first thing we need you to do is put on the I Want My Own Room T-shirt and boiler suit.

0:09:50 > 0:09:53- We'll go and get changed, then. - Off you go.- Thank you(!)

0:09:53 > 0:09:57- How does it feel being in control? - Brilliant! Bring it on!

0:09:57 > 0:10:00First job for Mum and Dad... emptying the room.

0:10:00 > 0:10:06OK, right, I've got this so that you can hang all my clothes on it.

0:10:06 > 0:10:09- Oh, and by the way, no breaks!- OK.

0:10:12 > 0:10:16- Time's ticking, guys! Keep moving. Hurry up!- OK, OK, OK.

0:10:16 > 0:10:18Positive encouragement would be nice.

0:10:18 > 0:10:21- All this as well, Zak? - Every single thing.

0:10:21 > 0:10:26- Where are we going to put all this stuff?- Why don't you just leave everything in the garage?

0:10:26 > 0:10:31Being in charge of the house also means that I'm in charge of you and the garage.

0:10:31 > 0:10:35- You hearing all this? What's that? - Not a clue.

0:10:38 > 0:10:40Right, you two, come here!

0:10:40 > 0:10:45Next, I want you to empty this chest of drawers. Get to work!

0:10:47 > 0:10:48OK...

0:10:48 > 0:10:51Goodness me! How much stuff have we got?

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Come on, chop-chop!

0:10:53 > 0:10:56How many pairs of shoes do you need?

0:10:56 > 0:11:01On the clearing out I'd give my mum and dad a score of 2 out of 10.

0:11:01 > 0:11:032?

0:11:05 > 0:11:08And as the last few bits of furniture disappear from the room...

0:11:08 > 0:11:11- It's good watching other people work, isn't it?- Yeah.

0:11:11 > 0:11:15..it's time to take a peek at Zak's final design.

0:11:15 > 0:11:20So now Mum and Dad have finally cleared out the room, tell me about your design trip.

0:11:20 > 0:11:24Well, I took a load of pictures... There's one,

0:11:24 > 0:11:29which was a sort of model aeroplane that looks like one of the aeroplanes I'd make.

0:11:29 > 0:11:32- Oh, what is that? - I think it's some kind of kite.

0:11:32 > 0:11:37- I don't really like the way it was displayed.- So, displaying models hanging from the ceiling is a no-no?

0:11:37 > 0:11:42I took this picture in the planetarium because I really like planets and the stars.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45Well, that picture is of, like, sort of a cupboard,

0:11:45 > 0:11:50but it had lots of different, like, compartments in it where you could put different things.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53There's loads going on here. How are you going to fit it all in the room?

0:11:53 > 0:11:55Well, what I've got over here is your bed area.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57You've got your little chill-out area here,

0:11:57 > 0:12:01where your friends can sit, maybe some beanbags, a few things...

0:12:01 > 0:12:03and then over the other side of the room I've got your workshop area

0:12:03 > 0:12:06where you can make stuff. Loads of storage right by the window.

0:12:06 > 0:12:08- I think it's going to be really good. - Nice.

0:12:08 > 0:12:13And because you really love the outdoors, I'm going to make the whole room an outdoors theme.

0:12:13 > 0:12:15It's going to be brilliant!

0:12:15 > 0:12:17That's what we like to hear!

0:12:17 > 0:12:21With the family sleeping elsewhere, how's Zak feeling at the end of the first day?

0:12:21 > 0:12:24The room just looks a lot different now that everything's out,

0:12:24 > 0:12:27and I can sort of picture where everything new is going to go.

0:12:29 > 0:12:32So, Zak's fed up of being moved around the house,

0:12:32 > 0:12:35until there's nowhere left to make his models.

0:12:35 > 0:12:38Mum and Dad have reluctantly handed over the house keys

0:12:38 > 0:12:41and now he's creating a workshop in an outdoor-themed room.

0:12:43 > 0:12:48But will the I Want My Own Room team still be smiling when Zak sees the finished design?

0:12:51 > 0:12:56It's day two, and Becci wastes no time putting Zak's plans into action.

0:12:56 > 0:13:00So what I need you to do is help make the workshop area.

0:13:00 > 0:13:03The only issue I can see is the height of this radiator.

0:13:03 > 0:13:08Are we going to have to go in front of the radiator or a bit higher? I don't know how it's going to work.

0:13:08 > 0:13:13While Becci tries to get her head around that problem, Zak presents Mum and Dad with another.

0:13:13 > 0:13:17The thing I'm most looking forward to is bossing you two around.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21- Sounds like hard work again! - It does sounds like hard work again!

0:13:21 > 0:13:25And you don't even know! Cue Zak to fill you in.

0:13:26 > 0:13:29Mum, you can help Becci with the ceiling.

0:13:29 > 0:13:32And, Dad, you can help Chantelle with the green walls.

0:13:32 > 0:13:35Here we go!

0:13:36 > 0:13:38Oh, I can feel the wetness...

0:13:38 > 0:13:41on my skin now! I'm definitely having drops everywhere.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43Let me have a go.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49This is not going to end well!

0:13:50 > 0:13:51Yeah!

0:13:55 > 0:13:58I really loved painting, it's really cool.

0:13:58 > 0:14:02- How are you doing?- I'm doing OK. What do you think?- Looks pretty good.

0:14:02 > 0:14:05You're better than Mum. I'll give you a hand.

0:14:05 > 0:14:11- What's with the green, Zak? - I always thought green was, like, a really outdoors kind of colour.

0:14:11 > 0:14:14It's all in Zak's grand scheme, Dad!

0:14:14 > 0:14:20So, while you and Mum get to work, Becci has an idea that will personalise Zak's workshop area.

0:14:20 > 0:14:25What would you think if, instead of boring old wardrobe doors, we used canvas

0:14:25 > 0:14:27- to cover the fronts instead? - Good idea!

0:14:27 > 0:14:32We could put your designs on them, so I'm going to show you a really simple way of printing your own designs.

0:14:32 > 0:14:37- Cool.- What kind of designs do you think you'd want for your workshop area?

0:14:37 > 0:14:40- Some kind of plane or a car, that sort of thing.- Nice idea.

0:14:40 > 0:14:44Well, grab yourself a cloth and a pen. Let's get drawing.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46Why not have a go at printing your own designs on to fabric?

0:14:46 > 0:14:52Zak's are going on his canvas wardrobe covers, but you could print on to a duvet cover, curtains,

0:14:52 > 0:14:54or even a T-shirt.

0:14:54 > 0:14:57So, it's really good if the template's as simple as possible

0:14:57 > 0:15:00because then you get these really bold, bright, different shapes.

0:15:00 > 0:15:04Draw the outline of your design on to a kitchen sponge.

0:15:04 > 0:15:05That's nice.

0:15:05 > 0:15:07Then carefully cut out the shape.

0:15:07 > 0:15:11Choose a colour for your prints and play around with the layout.

0:15:11 > 0:15:13- Oh, it is messy!- Yeah!

0:15:13 > 0:15:18It would be cool if the cars were all flat, but then the planes could be at different angles

0:15:18 > 0:15:20- as if they were, like, taking off. - Cool.

0:15:24 > 0:15:25- Oh, nice!- Cool.

0:15:27 > 0:15:28Cover this.

0:15:29 > 0:15:30Wow!

0:15:30 > 0:15:35- Why don't you go and check on Mum and Dad and I will finish off some more of these prints.- OK.

0:15:36 > 0:15:41Having helped to finish paint the room, Mum and Dad have got stuck in, making wardrobes.

0:15:41 > 0:15:43I think we need some more pieces.

0:15:43 > 0:15:46Or should I say "got stuck"?

0:15:47 > 0:15:49Whoa! That's cool.

0:15:50 > 0:15:53Glad you're here, mate. We could do with a hand with this.

0:15:53 > 0:15:57- What it is, Dad, when you hammer it in, they should flatten out.- Yeah... He's right.

0:15:57 > 0:16:04Now that I've given my mum and dad the instructions on how to, like, build my workshop area,

0:16:04 > 0:16:08I feel definitely a bit better that they're doing it properly.

0:16:08 > 0:16:14At the end of day two, it's time for our dynamic design duo to have a catch-up.

0:16:14 > 0:16:18Now, I want to keep the last few design elements a surprise, but is there anything else I need to know?

0:16:18 > 0:16:24No, I think you've probably got all my ideas there. Just go mad on the outdoors theme.

0:16:24 > 0:16:28And while Becci tries to make his design dreams come true...

0:16:29 > 0:16:32..Zak works on coming up with more.

0:16:32 > 0:16:34SNORING

0:16:34 > 0:16:37MUSIC: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"

0:16:40 > 0:16:44Good morning! Well, now Becci knows exactly what Zak wants,

0:16:44 > 0:16:47she's keeping the final look of the room a surprise,

0:16:47 > 0:16:49so no-one's allowed in.

0:16:50 > 0:16:52Oh! What are you doing out here?

0:16:52 > 0:16:57- Well, no-one's allowed in, so I thought I'd just...- Come in, silly! You've got work to do!

0:17:00 > 0:17:05Zak wanted me to go mad with this outdoors theme, so the biggest way I could think of doing it

0:17:05 > 0:17:10- was printing a massive poster of a forest and sticking it on the wall. - That's brilliant. He'll love it.

0:17:10 > 0:17:14Ding-dong! That looks fantastic!

0:17:14 > 0:17:18That's not the only idea of Zak's to be put into action today.

0:17:18 > 0:17:21So, part of bring the outside in...

0:17:21 > 0:17:24we thought it would be so cool to have the actual planets on the ceiling,

0:17:24 > 0:17:27- so we can feel like it's actually outside.- OK.

0:17:30 > 0:17:31BIKE BELL RINGS

0:17:31 > 0:17:35- It was tough yesterday.- Zak got us working, didn't he? I'm hoping we can have an easy day of it today.

0:17:35 > 0:17:37In your dreams!

0:17:37 > 0:17:40Nightmares more like!

0:17:40 > 0:17:43Becci and I have a surprise in store for you, Mum and Dad!

0:17:43 > 0:17:45Hold it right there!

0:17:45 > 0:17:48Just because you're not allowed in Zak's room, it doesn't mean you're on a go-slow.

0:17:48 > 0:17:52Mum and Dad, Becci's got a job for you. Zak, you come with me.

0:17:54 > 0:17:57As you know, Zak loves the outdoors,

0:17:57 > 0:18:01so I'm going to get you guys to go out into the wilderness and gather loads of stuff

0:18:01 > 0:18:03to make him a woodland picture for his room.

0:18:03 > 0:18:07So you're going to get a basket each and you're going to make one picture each,

0:18:07 > 0:18:10and Zak's going to be the judge of it, so get moving!

0:18:10 > 0:18:12# Underground, overground Wombling free... #

0:18:12 > 0:18:15Come on, guys, no messing around. We've got work to do.

0:18:15 > 0:18:20Right, I want you guys to paint these frames while Mum and Dad collect some stuff to go in them.

0:18:20 > 0:18:23Fabulous! So, how do you think things are going in the room so far?

0:18:23 > 0:18:27I really like the ceiling, the blue is just really nice.

0:18:27 > 0:18:32# If you go down in the woods today You're sure of a big surprise... #

0:18:32 > 0:18:35You're supposed to be collecting stuff, Mum, not eating it!

0:18:35 > 0:18:40What's it going to mean to you to have a room that's yours? It's not one you share,

0:18:40 > 0:18:43- and it's one that you've designed yourself. - It's going to be brilliant!

0:18:43 > 0:18:47How do you think Mum and Dad are going to be doing? Are they quite outdoorsy?

0:18:47 > 0:18:50Er...well, yeah...

0:18:50 > 0:18:52BUZZING

0:18:52 > 0:18:54There was a creature on it!

0:18:54 > 0:18:57I've got all sorts, what about you?

0:18:57 > 0:19:01- Don't pinch any of mine. - I'm not going to pinch any of it... she says.

0:19:01 > 0:19:05- Oh, where did you get those from? - Pine cones.- Where did you find them? - On a tree over there.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08I think we've got enough now. Shall we go?

0:19:08 > 0:19:11I think I have, yeah. Come on. Let's go.

0:19:15 > 0:19:19- Do you know what, Zak? I think we're just about done here, don't you?- OK.

0:19:19 > 0:19:21- Shall we go and see how Mum and Dad are getting on?- OK.

0:19:21 > 0:19:27Mum and Dad are in competition to have their freshly picked pictures hanging up in Zak's new room.

0:19:27 > 0:19:29So, which one's your favourite? Which do you like the best?

0:19:29 > 0:19:31DRUM ROLL

0:19:35 > 0:19:37OK, I think I'll have that one.

0:19:37 > 0:19:39- Yeah! - CHEERING

0:19:39 > 0:19:41Brilliant.

0:19:41 > 0:19:44I think that the woodland picture that I chose is going to look brilliant

0:19:44 > 0:19:49and it's just going to add that sort of extra outdoorsness.

0:19:49 > 0:19:52But back in the room a sticky situation has developed.

0:19:52 > 0:19:56I haven't seen Lisa in a while. We could do with a hand with this.

0:19:56 > 0:19:59I've not seen her for ages. I don't know where she's got to.

0:19:59 > 0:20:03- MUFFLED:- Help! Help! I think there's been a mistake!

0:20:03 > 0:20:07It's me... I'm stuck, I'm stuck in the tree.

0:20:07 > 0:20:10Oh, forget it! I'll unstick myself!

0:20:10 > 0:20:12And from one mistake to another!

0:20:13 > 0:20:16It fits! It fits! Oh...

0:20:16 > 0:20:19It fits in but it's blocked by the radiator.

0:20:19 > 0:20:23Er...can we cut like some sort of... out of here?

0:20:23 > 0:20:28- So you're going to take sort of that much out here.- Yeah. - That'll look nice and neat.

0:20:29 > 0:20:31Phew! Problem solved.

0:20:33 > 0:20:37So, it's the end of day three.

0:20:37 > 0:20:41Tomorrow Zak is going to see the room, whether it's ready or not...

0:20:41 > 0:20:45It's a massive transformation. I just hope he likes it.

0:20:46 > 0:20:49My new room is just literally behind me just there,

0:20:49 > 0:20:53but I can't go in it till tomorrow and it's just, like, I really want to go in it!

0:20:53 > 0:20:56And are Mum and Dad as excited?

0:20:56 > 0:20:59I just know it's going to be a fantastic moment for him tomorrow.

0:21:05 > 0:21:07Morning!

0:21:07 > 0:21:11Well, it's the last day, and I hope all the team got a good night's sleep last night,

0:21:11 > 0:21:16because there's still so much left to do that it's going to be intense.

0:21:16 > 0:21:20Get it? Intense... "In tents"!

0:21:20 > 0:21:22Forget it.

0:21:22 > 0:21:24OK, it's no laughing matter

0:21:24 > 0:21:29because in just a few hours Zak will be beating down the door to see his new room.

0:21:29 > 0:21:32I still haven't got the measure of what the tent's all about, though.

0:21:32 > 0:21:34All right, team?

0:21:34 > 0:21:39All right, Bec? What is happening with that massive, humungous great tent in the garden?

0:21:39 > 0:21:47- Well, the idea is that we're going to put the tent over the bed in here.- It's massive!

0:21:47 > 0:21:49SCREAMING

0:21:49 > 0:21:52We haven't got long so the best thing to do would be to cut it outside, bring it upstairs,

0:21:52 > 0:21:57and see if it fits. Cos if it doesn't, I'm going to have to think of something else.

0:21:58 > 0:22:00Only one way to find out if it'll work.

0:22:00 > 0:22:06Once it's been customised to fit Zak's room, me and the girls simply slot it into place.

0:22:06 > 0:22:07Easy!

0:22:08 > 0:22:10Just watch this end on the wall.

0:22:10 > 0:22:12Oh, OK.

0:22:12 > 0:22:13Hold one, wait.

0:22:13 > 0:22:15OK, we're there.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18Do we think this was maybe a bit too ambitious?

0:22:20 > 0:22:21That's that side, isn't it?

0:22:22 > 0:22:24Oh, no!

0:22:24 > 0:22:28- A little bit more.- This had better be worth all the effort, I tell you!

0:22:28 > 0:22:30And with time running out...

0:22:31 > 0:22:33Guys, we're missing an eyelet.

0:22:33 > 0:22:36..it's a mad scramble to get everything finished.

0:22:40 > 0:22:43What? It's all about attention to detail, all right?

0:22:45 > 0:22:50And before you can say, "Let there be light!" Zak's on his way back.

0:22:50 > 0:22:56Today I'm really excited and I can't wait to see my new room.

0:23:05 > 0:23:08Hey, everyone! Nearly time to see the room. How are you feeling?

0:23:08 > 0:23:12- I'm excited, definitely.- Excited, yeah.- Looking forward to it.

0:23:12 > 0:23:14Before you're allowed to see your new room,

0:23:14 > 0:23:17you have to hand the keys and control back to Mum and Dad.

0:23:17 > 0:23:21And, Mum and Dad, I suspect you're quite looking forward to having control of the house back!

0:23:21 > 0:23:25- Back!- Do I have to? - I'm afraid you do.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27- There you go.- Thank you.- Thank you.

0:23:28 > 0:23:29OK, Mum, let us in.

0:23:31 > 0:23:35Just four days ago, Zak was sharing a cramped bedroom with his brother,

0:23:35 > 0:23:38and had nowhere to make things in peace.

0:23:38 > 0:23:41With a love of the great outdoors, he wanted a workshop space

0:23:41 > 0:23:45in a room that felt like he was sleeping under the stars.

0:23:45 > 0:23:49With the I Want My Own Room team's help, his wish came true.

0:23:50 > 0:23:54Zak now has plenty of room to spread out in his very own workshop.

0:23:54 > 0:24:00He can be as neat or as messy as he likes with these colourful storage boxes.

0:24:00 > 0:24:04And the wardrobes are covered in the models he and Becci designed.

0:24:04 > 0:24:10The outside really has been brought inside with a forest mural and planets-painted ceiling.

0:24:10 > 0:24:16There's even room for a mini campsite with a life-size tent and a campfire.

0:24:16 > 0:24:22But will Zak feel left out in the cold or high as a kite when he sees his new room?

0:24:22 > 0:24:25- Ta-ra!- Wow!

0:24:27 > 0:24:29- What do you think?- I love the bed.

0:24:29 > 0:24:32- The bed is so cool.- Have a little lie-down on the sleeping bag.

0:24:32 > 0:24:35We want it to feel like you're camping even though you're not really.

0:24:35 > 0:24:39- Oh, that's nice.- It's like being in a tent, isn't it?

0:24:39 > 0:24:42- Yeah.- Even though you're in your bedroom.- That's wicked!

0:24:42 > 0:24:45I love the sky. That's Saturn.

0:24:45 > 0:24:48That's Jupiter. That's Mars.

0:24:48 > 0:24:50It's just exactly how I pictured it.

0:24:50 > 0:24:53You wanted your own place for making your models

0:24:53 > 0:24:58- where people weren't going to interrupt. So you've got that, look. - Yeah.

0:24:59 > 0:25:03- You've got all your things... - Oh, I love it!- ..For making models, so it's all organised.

0:25:04 > 0:25:07- Oh, there's even a fire. - As close as you can get.- Yeah.

0:25:07 > 0:25:09Let's have a little look in here.

0:25:10 > 0:25:13Wow, it's signed!

0:25:13 > 0:25:16"Dear Zak, the more you learn about nature,

0:25:16 > 0:25:20"the more at home you will feel in the wild places.

0:25:20 > 0:25:22"Much love, Ray Mears."

0:25:22 > 0:25:23- That's just for you.- Whoa!

0:25:23 > 0:25:27And the picture on the wall, how does that make you feel when you look at it?

0:25:27 > 0:25:29I feel like I'm outside.

0:25:29 > 0:25:30I love it.

0:25:30 > 0:25:36There could have been nothing better about my new room. It's amazing!

0:25:36 > 0:25:39And what do Mum and Dad have to say?

0:25:40 > 0:25:42Oh, my goodness!

0:25:42 > 0:25:44- Wow!- Oh!

0:25:44 > 0:25:46It's fantastic!

0:25:47 > 0:25:51- It's absolutely amazing. - It's astonishing!

0:25:53 > 0:25:55Oh, that is fantastic!

0:25:56 > 0:25:58Oh, that is lovely.

0:25:58 > 0:26:00Fantastic!

0:26:00 > 0:26:02Oh, my goodness! It's amazing.

0:26:04 > 0:26:06Oh, I love it!

0:26:06 > 0:26:08Oh, wow!

0:26:08 > 0:26:15He did a really good job, and it's what he wants, obviously, which is important.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17Oh, thank you!

0:26:17 > 0:26:21- I'm glad you like it.- It's amazing. - It's fantastic!

0:26:21 > 0:26:23It is lovely.

0:26:23 > 0:26:24It's just...

0:26:24 > 0:26:30It's just lovely, because you just wouldn't get that opportunity to do it any other time.

0:26:30 > 0:26:32It is lovely.

0:26:33 > 0:26:35- Was it worth all the stress?- Yeah! - It's lovely.

0:26:35 > 0:26:38And more, and more.

0:26:38 > 0:26:40It's brilliant.

0:26:41 > 0:26:42Wow!

0:26:42 > 0:26:44Fantastic!

0:26:46 > 0:26:47Awesome!

0:26:48 > 0:26:50So do you like it?

0:26:50 > 0:26:54- I love it. I just want to say thank you.- You're very welcome.

0:26:54 > 0:26:57That picture on the wall's fantastic. Talk about making the room bigger.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00We have got a bit of a confession...

0:27:00 > 0:27:03the cat came in, got a bit confused and walked into the wall.

0:27:04 > 0:27:07That's why it looked so miserable!

0:27:08 > 0:27:12It was never going to be easy bringing the outdoors in,

0:27:12 > 0:27:16but now, not only does Zak have his dedicated workshop,

0:27:16 > 0:27:20but when he closes his bedroom door, he doesn't have to leave the great outdoors behind.

0:27:20 > 0:27:22It's right there with him.
