0:00:02 > 0:00:03Previously on Ice Stars...

0:00:03 > 0:00:06I'd like to get an Olympic medal.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09I mean, I know that's ages and ages away.

0:00:09 > 0:00:10I'm willing to do whatever it takes.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13Please put your hands together for Ella!

0:00:13 > 0:00:15Going solo is the right choice for me.

0:00:15 > 0:00:19And I'm definitely going to carry on doing it.

0:00:19 > 0:00:23It's so nice to be back and seeing everyone.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26We're all really happy that you're back and skating again.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42Coming up...

0:00:44 > 0:00:46Ella swaps her skates for pedals.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49We want no injuries today. Particularly you, Ella.

0:00:49 > 0:00:50I'll try my hardest.

0:00:50 > 0:00:53Josh and Kloe show the Our School kids how it's done.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55How does she get her leg so high?!

0:00:59 > 0:01:01And Izzy has one last chance

0:01:01 > 0:01:04to prove she's got what it takes to make it to the Olympics.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18If you hadn't guessed already, being an Ice Star is a lot of fun.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23But it's not always easy...

0:01:23 > 0:01:24Come on, last one. One more!

0:01:26 > 0:01:29I stopped the music because people are getting sloppy.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32..as ice dancer Josh knows all too well.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35He's had a whirlwind of a season so far.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38His partnership with Lucy came to an end

0:01:38 > 0:01:41after they won British Championships.

0:01:41 > 0:01:42Oh, thanks.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47The last time I skated with a partner was with Lucy

0:01:47 > 0:01:48at the British.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51We won it, but then afterwards we went our separate ways.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53After then I was skating on my own for quite a while,

0:01:53 > 0:01:55and it was a bit lonely.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58But he didn't stay lonely for long.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Waiting for an early-morning training session

0:02:01 > 0:02:04is none other than best friend and old partner Ellie.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06Skating with Josh just feels natural,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08because we've skated together so long.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10And we're really good friends.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12So we get on really well.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15After a few fun sessions together,

0:02:15 > 0:02:19the ice duo are starting to take training a little more seriously.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21- Are you all right?- Yes, fine, thanks.

0:02:25 > 0:02:29They've booked a session with ice dance Olympian Nick Buckland.

0:02:29 > 0:02:33He's here to teach Jellie some steps for a new dance.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36Josh and Ellie have had their first couple of sessions back together.

0:02:36 > 0:02:40It's about testing the waters a little bit and seeing how it feels.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42They've both grown. We've got a lot of work to do,

0:02:42 > 0:02:44but they enjoy skating with each other, which is nice to see.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47We've just got to keep ploughing forwards.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Yeah, it feels really good to be skating with Josh again.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52It's really fun.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55But, because it's been almost a year since they split,

0:02:55 > 0:02:58they've got a few hurdles to overcome.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01OK, let's sort this out because this is...

0:03:01 > 0:03:02I don't know what's happened here.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05And some moves that just aren't working.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08You've really got to let her know exactly what edge you're on.

0:03:09 > 0:03:13OK. Out using the arm, and change using the leg.

0:03:13 > 0:03:14OK, ready?

0:03:18 > 0:03:20No, stop. That doesn't look good.

0:03:20 > 0:03:25But with some expert advice from Nick, things start to come together.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27This is the tedious part, really, isn't it?

0:03:27 > 0:03:29Learning new moves.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31But that's a tough process you've got to go through, so...

0:03:40 > 0:03:43They've still got a long way to go.

0:03:43 > 0:03:44When they first got on the ice this morning,

0:03:44 > 0:03:47Josh and Ellie took a bit of time to get used to what they were doing.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49It was a little bit frantic.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51When you're skating with somebody,

0:03:51 > 0:03:54you've really got to feel out your partner and notice their rhythm.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57You've got to try and become in sync with each other a bit more.

0:04:03 > 0:04:06Some things feel the same whilst we're skating together.

0:04:06 > 0:04:10Like how we talk to each other and everything, that's not changed.

0:04:11 > 0:04:13Stay on the inside of her, Josh.

0:04:13 > 0:04:14That's fine, keep going.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17They're definitely trying to find their feet again.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20You never know what'll happen until you're further down in the season.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22We've got to let their routines develop,

0:04:22 > 0:04:25they've just got to keep coming in and training every day

0:04:25 > 0:04:27and they'll see what happens.

0:04:27 > 0:04:31It's really fun, just not having any pressure on us to do well

0:04:31 > 0:04:33at a competition at the minute.

0:04:33 > 0:04:34Do you want it?

0:04:34 > 0:04:36Just getting to dance together,

0:04:36 > 0:04:39I think then we can start thinking about things longer term.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50On the other side of town...

0:04:51 > 0:04:55..figure skaters Josh and Kloe have had a season full of ups...

0:04:56 > 0:04:57..and downs.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02All elements like last time, go!

0:05:03 > 0:05:06After a tough British Championships...

0:05:06 > 0:05:10I feel like I'm wasting my time when I skate like this.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13..Josh and Kloe are trying to put it all behind them.

0:05:13 > 0:05:17So Kloe, what are your thoughts on the British now?

0:05:17 > 0:05:21Everything happens for a reason. I don't really know why it happened,

0:05:21 > 0:05:23- but it was definitely a learning lesson.- Yeah.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26I think we wanted it so much, we wanted it too much,

0:05:26 > 0:05:29that, like, we put so much pressure on ourselves.

0:05:29 > 0:05:32We've learned from it and like, we've moved on now,

0:05:32 > 0:05:35so it's about going more positive from now on.

0:05:35 > 0:05:39Let's not sit here and just, like, be sad, let's do something fun.

0:05:39 > 0:05:40Oh, if only you could drive.

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Like, we could go on a road trip right now!

0:05:43 > 0:05:46Sorry about that, but you know what? Let's just go jam out in the car.

0:05:46 > 0:05:48- That's fun anyway. - Let's do it.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00Right.

0:06:00 > 0:06:03- Are you ready? I'm not sure you're ready for this.- No.

0:06:03 > 0:06:04Safety first. Seat belts.

0:06:04 > 0:06:07- Shoes off.- Just check what I look like in the mirror.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09- Do you want to check what you look like?- Yeah, please.

0:06:09 > 0:06:10- OK.- OK, ready?

0:06:10 > 0:06:13If we were going on a road trip right now, we would just go, like,

0:06:13 > 0:06:15wherever the wind takes us.

0:06:15 > 0:06:16Let's imagine we're in LA.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19Driving through the central LA along the beach.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23You know, what more could we want in life?

0:06:23 > 0:06:24- Oh, I know.- Oh, you know?

0:06:24 > 0:06:26I do.

0:06:26 > 0:06:27What is it?

0:06:27 > 0:06:28Music!

0:06:31 > 0:06:32Yes!

0:06:32 > 0:06:34# I stay out too late

0:06:35 > 0:06:37# Got nothing in my brain

0:06:38 > 0:06:40# That's what people say

0:06:40 > 0:06:41# Oo-oo

0:06:41 > 0:06:45# Cos the players gonna play, play, play, play, play

0:06:45 > 0:06:47# And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate

0:06:47 > 0:06:51# Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake

0:06:51 > 0:06:53# I shake it off I shake it off... #

0:06:53 > 0:06:54That was good!

0:06:56 > 0:06:58Do, you know what? Let's imagine this is a submarine.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00There's fish everywhere.

0:07:00 > 0:07:01Shut up!

0:07:02 > 0:07:03Can you see that?!

0:07:04 > 0:07:06No, I can't see anything.

0:07:06 > 0:07:08You're going to have to tell me what it is.

0:07:08 > 0:07:10The shark! Right in front of us.

0:07:10 > 0:07:13Oh, my goodness! Whoa! Whoa!

0:07:13 > 0:07:14Get down!

0:07:16 > 0:07:19Are we OK? Did we survive?

0:07:19 > 0:07:20- It's back!- Argh!

0:07:23 > 0:07:26- It's over.- That was so good. - That was so fun.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29We definitely needed that. Let's be real here.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31I loved that. Maybe we should do that more often.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33Every time we have a bad skate now,

0:07:33 > 0:07:35this is what we've got to do. This is like the new ritual.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37- Love it.- This is our new thing, OK?

0:07:37 > 0:07:39That was a good idea. High five.

0:07:39 > 0:07:41Loved it. That was the best thing.

0:07:41 > 0:07:45Rituals seem to be a bit of a thing for our Ice Stars.

0:07:45 > 0:07:49I always have to put my left boot on before my right boot.

0:07:49 > 0:07:51If I put my left boot on by accident,

0:07:51 > 0:07:53I'll take it off and put my right boot on.

0:07:53 > 0:07:56I do box, short socks,

0:07:56 > 0:07:59shorts, skates, shins.

0:08:01 > 0:08:03We have to pray to the Synchro God.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06I used to have to put my boots on, like, two minutes before I go on,

0:08:06 > 0:08:09because otherwise my feet hurt, but that's not really for good luck.

0:08:12 > 0:08:15We hope we get all the points we want to get.

0:08:15 > 0:08:18And no-one falls over. And then Esther is like, "Amen".

0:08:23 > 0:08:27Speed skater Izzy has been working hard chasing her Olympic dream.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31She's already met her idol,

0:08:31 > 0:08:33the triple world champion, Elise Christie.

0:08:33 > 0:08:36You need to be a bit more aggressive.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38But that comes with being on the ice.

0:08:38 > 0:08:42It's good to see her keeping up and she was even going out in front

0:08:42 > 0:08:44for some of them, so she's brave for sure.

0:08:44 > 0:08:48She caught the eye of GB coaches while competing last year.

0:08:48 > 0:08:50You moved when you needed to move - the girl moved wide,

0:08:50 > 0:08:52you took advantage and went up the inside.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55She tried to get past you, blocked, unfortunately in the last lap,

0:08:55 > 0:08:58but other than that, it was much, much better.

0:08:58 > 0:09:01And now she's being given the chance of a lifetime.

0:09:01 > 0:09:06Izzy has been asked to try out for the new GB Speed Skating Academy.

0:09:06 > 0:09:10Just about to head in for the GB Academy ice testing.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12Feeling pretty nervous, but excited.

0:09:12 > 0:09:14Should be a good day, hopefully.

0:09:14 > 0:09:15Let's go.

0:09:15 > 0:09:19If she makes it, she'd get to train full-time with the GB coaches

0:09:19 > 0:09:21and maybe make the next Olympic team.

0:09:21 > 0:09:24So, I've been preparing really hard for this day.

0:09:24 > 0:09:26I've been doing more training than I ever have done,

0:09:26 > 0:09:29so I'm hoping it goes well. Fingers crossed.

0:09:29 > 0:09:31Izzy's now almost 18,

0:09:31 > 0:09:34so this is her last chance to get into the academy,

0:09:34 > 0:09:35but she's not alone.

0:09:35 > 0:09:39Skaters from all across Britain are being tested too.

0:09:39 > 0:09:40When I turned up to the testing day,

0:09:40 > 0:09:43I wasn't expecting there to be that many people

0:09:43 > 0:09:44and all really amazing athletes as well.

0:09:44 > 0:09:46Really good at what they do.

0:09:46 > 0:09:47It definitely motivated me.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49OK, find yourself a space on the wall.

0:09:49 > 0:09:51Ten leg swings backwards and forwards.

0:09:51 > 0:09:53Ten leg swings side to side.

0:09:53 > 0:09:56One of the coaches that will be watching Izzy today is Jo.

0:09:56 > 0:10:00She'll be on the ice, making sure she shows that Olympic potential.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03Really what we're looking at is more than just about

0:10:03 > 0:10:05how fast these skaters are.

0:10:05 > 0:10:07It's about all of the different things that show us that

0:10:07 > 0:10:10actually they have the potential to become Olympic champions.

0:10:10 > 0:10:13So I think a lot of the guys are feeling a bit of pressure

0:10:13 > 0:10:15and we kind of hope they are feeling a bit of pressure

0:10:15 > 0:10:18because that replicates what they'll have to deal with in the future.

0:10:18 > 0:10:22A bit of stress, a bit of pressure, but hopefully some excitement

0:10:22 > 0:10:25about the opportunity that could be available to them.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29So it's time for Izzy to get on the ice and show the coaches

0:10:29 > 0:10:30what she can do.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33The challenge when you're tired is to try and keep pushing,

0:10:33 > 0:10:34even though you're tired.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37It's not what you've got, it's how you use it.

0:10:37 > 0:10:41GB coaches Jo and Jerrod are keeping a close eye on each skater.

0:10:47 > 0:10:50Nice and easy, Izzy, not too fast.

0:10:50 > 0:10:51Easy.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Concentrate, guys.

0:10:53 > 0:10:55Yeah, it's really nerve-racking,

0:10:55 > 0:10:58knowing that they're constantly watching you, the coaches.

0:10:58 > 0:11:00On the ice, they are all there with their clipboards

0:11:00 > 0:11:01and writing little notes,

0:11:01 > 0:11:04and obviously you don't know what they are writing.

0:11:04 > 0:11:05So that does stress you out.

0:11:08 > 0:11:10The coaches are looking for teamwork,

0:11:10 > 0:11:14technique, and how the skaters respond to feedback.

0:11:14 > 0:11:15It's good, Izzy.

0:11:15 > 0:11:17Good watching.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20Bend and straighten. Bend and straighten.

0:11:20 > 0:11:23That's it, try and control where your weight is.

0:11:24 > 0:11:27And some of the drills are pushing Izzy to the limit.

0:11:27 > 0:11:32Why not? It's all about toe heel, toe heel.

0:11:32 > 0:11:34Because that's... Yeah!

0:11:34 > 0:11:36I can feel it when I'm doing it and when I'm not.

0:11:36 > 0:11:38You're getting the carving sound.

0:11:38 > 0:11:40It's the same with Jack and Natalie.

0:11:40 > 0:11:43You like to be very stable, very in control.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46Sometimes you just have to be honest with the coaches

0:11:46 > 0:11:49and tell them, admit to them that you can't do something.

0:11:49 > 0:11:52I think if you're willing to learn and take on advice,

0:11:52 > 0:11:54I think that's a good attribute to have as well.

0:11:58 > 0:12:01I think it went well, but there's a lot of drills that we were doing,

0:12:01 > 0:12:03practising our technique, and they were quite difficult,

0:12:03 > 0:12:05so I know that there's a lot to work on.

0:12:05 > 0:12:07I'm trying to ask questions if I don't understand.

0:12:07 > 0:12:10I'm hoping they can see that I'm making an effort.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16The on-ice trials have been tough enough

0:12:16 > 0:12:19but it's the off-ice trials that Izzy has been most afraid of.

0:12:19 > 0:12:22This is the angle that we're looking for. Completely straight.

0:12:22 > 0:12:24If we see shoulders lifting,

0:12:24 > 0:12:27shoulders dropping, or you're rotating through your shoulders,

0:12:27 > 0:12:29we'll correct you once.

0:12:29 > 0:12:31If we have to correct you again, we'll stop you.

0:12:31 > 0:12:34Ready, then? Three, two, one, go!

0:12:35 > 0:12:37Good, everybody. Well done.

0:12:37 > 0:12:40The trunk testing is basically testing your abs,

0:12:40 > 0:12:43your arms, shoulders, just basically your whole body.

0:12:43 > 0:12:46Yes, obviously, the boys went first and we watched them do it,

0:12:46 > 0:12:48so you see how hard it is before.

0:12:48 > 0:12:50And they were all trying really hard at the end

0:12:50 > 0:12:53and you have to try and motivate them and shout their names

0:12:53 > 0:12:55and stuff, tell them to keep going.

0:12:58 > 0:13:01Obviously once you see how hard it is, then you have to do it yourself.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03That's quite difficult.

0:13:03 > 0:13:06Well done. Take a minute, boys, OK?

0:13:06 > 0:13:09After months of practice, it's Izzy's turn

0:13:09 > 0:13:12to prove she has the core strength needed to become an Olympian.

0:13:12 > 0:13:15Three, two, one, go.

0:13:17 > 0:13:18Well done, guys. That's good.

0:13:19 > 0:13:21- Head down.- Keep going.

0:13:21 > 0:13:23Well done, Izzy.

0:13:23 > 0:13:24That's really good.

0:13:24 > 0:13:26Good positions, guys. Well done.

0:13:27 > 0:13:30- Well done, guys. Keep going. Keep pushing.- Come on!

0:13:30 > 0:13:32Come on, up, up, up!

0:13:33 > 0:13:35- Keep going, Izzy.- Come on!

0:13:35 > 0:13:37Last bit. Ten seconds.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41And stop, well done.

0:13:42 > 0:13:44She's smashed it.

0:13:44 > 0:13:46It was very tough.

0:13:46 > 0:13:47I feel dead.

0:13:48 > 0:13:51# I'm only human after all... #

0:13:51 > 0:13:53It's been a really long day.

0:13:53 > 0:13:54The sessions have been pretty tough,

0:13:54 > 0:13:57I'm feeling really tired now, really hungry.

0:13:57 > 0:13:59Just ready to go home and rest.

0:13:59 > 0:14:02With the tough day of testing finally over,

0:14:02 > 0:14:04all Izzy can do now is wait for the results

0:14:04 > 0:14:07to see if she's earned a place on the GB Academy.

0:14:07 > 0:14:09Nothing is guaranteed,

0:14:09 > 0:14:12and you can't assume that you've made it yet or not.

0:14:12 > 0:14:14So I've still got to wait for those results to come back.

0:14:26 > 0:14:30Ice dancers Ellie and Ella have been looking forward to a catch up.

0:14:34 > 0:14:37Both girls are trying to make sure that skating doesn't take over

0:14:37 > 0:14:40their lives, and they make time to do other stuff too.

0:14:41 > 0:14:42Thank you.

0:14:42 > 0:14:47Last season, all I ever did was be on the ice, and I had no time.

0:14:47 > 0:14:52Now I only train Monday to Friday and I have time to go see Mum

0:14:52 > 0:14:54and Dad and my friends at the weekend.

0:14:56 > 0:14:59I'm trying to make sure that skating isn't the only thing I do,

0:14:59 > 0:15:02so I go cycling now with my friends at the velodrome.

0:15:02 > 0:15:05- Do you enjoy it?- Yeah.

0:15:06 > 0:15:10Where would you, like, really, really want to go on holiday?

0:15:10 > 0:15:13Probably like a really hot island, or something.

0:15:13 > 0:15:17Where's the place where it's got pigs swimming in the sea?

0:15:17 > 0:15:18Pigs?

0:15:18 > 0:15:21Yeah! They're like swimming in the sea and it's cute.

0:15:21 > 0:15:25"What country has swimming pigs?"

0:15:25 > 0:15:27Oh, it is a real thing.

0:15:27 > 0:15:28It's the Bahamas.

0:15:28 > 0:15:30How did the pigs get there, though?

0:15:32 > 0:15:33How did we get here?

0:15:36 > 0:15:38- Shall we go?- Yeah.

0:15:40 > 0:15:41Oh, my phone!

0:15:43 > 0:15:46Meanwhile, some of the other Ice Stars are getting ready

0:15:46 > 0:15:48for a special ice session.

0:15:48 > 0:15:52A group of year sevens from a school in Sheffield

0:15:52 > 0:15:55are coming to the rink to try out skating.

0:15:55 > 0:15:57And if these guys look familiar,

0:15:57 > 0:16:00it's because they are taking part in another CBBC series

0:16:00 > 0:16:02called Our School.

0:16:02 > 0:16:07So, stand by for some fun as Ice Stars and Our School mash it up.

0:16:10 > 0:16:12We're really excited to be here, but also a bit nervous.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14Yeah, because we're not actually being taught today,

0:16:14 > 0:16:17we're the ones teaching the kids from Our School, here.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19Hi!

0:16:19 > 0:16:22The Our School kids are getting the full VIP Ice Stars treatment

0:16:22 > 0:16:24and, before getting their skates on,

0:16:24 > 0:16:27they're having a costume make-up session with the Icicles.

0:16:27 > 0:16:31The Icicles, do they have to look the same?

0:16:31 > 0:16:34All of us have the same make-up done

0:16:34 > 0:16:36and it's all got to be exactly the same.

0:16:36 > 0:16:39Now we're putting the glitter on - we think they stand out the most.

0:16:39 > 0:16:44I put tape here, and liner for which angle I want it at.

0:16:44 > 0:16:46That's how we have our programme make-up.

0:16:46 > 0:16:49Today, we're putting make-up on the kids from Our School,

0:16:49 > 0:16:51and it's a new experience for them.

0:16:51 > 0:16:53Not many of them actually have make-up.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55I love all the glamour of the ice skating.

0:16:55 > 0:16:59I feel a bit like a celebrity. I want to be an ice skater now!

0:16:59 > 0:17:01It'll be interesting to see how they are on the ice

0:17:01 > 0:17:04because they've all been so up for it now for the make-up.

0:17:05 > 0:17:07So heavy!

0:17:07 > 0:17:08The laces are so long.

0:17:08 > 0:17:10Can I put mine on yet, or what?

0:17:11 > 0:17:14Some of the Our School kids have never been on ice before

0:17:14 > 0:17:17so it's up to Josh and Kloe to show them how it's done.

0:17:17 > 0:17:20A quick show of hands - hands up who's skated before.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23So, over half of you have skated before, which is great.

0:17:23 > 0:17:26I've got some guys here that will help us today from the Ice Stars.

0:17:26 > 0:17:28Josh and Kloe will be joining us on the ice.

0:17:28 > 0:17:30- Hopefully they're not afraid to have a go.- Yeah.

0:17:30 > 0:17:33That's the main thing. As long as they trust us.

0:17:33 > 0:17:36The most important thing is that we have fun but we're safe, all right?

0:17:36 > 0:17:38- Yup.- Everybody OK with that?- Yeah.

0:17:38 > 0:17:39All right, so let's take to the ice.

0:17:50 > 0:17:54It's not just us today, we've got the synchro girls with us as well.

0:18:04 > 0:18:06You guys already to get on the ice?

0:18:06 > 0:18:07Yes!

0:18:12 > 0:18:13Right, OK.

0:18:15 > 0:18:16- You don't want to fall over.- No!

0:18:19 > 0:18:21So this is like one of the Kloe spins that she can do.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25I'm not doing that!

0:18:25 > 0:18:26I'd die.

0:18:26 > 0:18:29How does she get her legs so high?!

0:18:31 > 0:18:33Wow! She's going even faster.

0:18:33 > 0:18:35It's impressive, right?

0:18:35 > 0:18:38- Yeah. - They take ages for us to learn.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44We could teach you how to do a basic spin.

0:18:44 > 0:18:47Just literally on two feet and just spinning.

0:18:47 > 0:18:51If you stand on two feet and just spin...round.

0:18:53 > 0:18:54Yeah.

0:18:54 > 0:18:55Just like that!

0:18:57 > 0:18:58There you go.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00Yeah, almost! You almost made it all the way round.

0:19:11 > 0:19:13ALL: Ice Stars!

0:19:13 > 0:19:15So, how did you think the session went?

0:19:15 > 0:19:18- Awesome.- I thought you guys all improved so much, you know.

0:19:18 > 0:19:21Some of you couldn't even skate and you were all like racing around

0:19:21 > 0:19:23by the time you've finished.

0:19:23 > 0:19:26When you did that down to the floor, I can't remember what it was called,

0:19:26 > 0:19:29- but that was just amazing. - Thank you!

0:19:29 > 0:19:31The star of the next ice ballerina.

0:19:31 > 0:19:33It was very entertaining to watch.

0:19:33 > 0:19:34Oh, thank you.

0:19:34 > 0:19:37You all enjoyed it, that's the most important thing.

0:19:37 > 0:19:39And you all did really well, so well done.

0:19:39 > 0:19:43Yeah. And hopefully we'll see you all skating again soon.

0:19:43 > 0:19:44Group high five.

0:19:44 > 0:19:46- Good spinning.- Thank you!

0:19:49 > 0:19:52The session was really fun, just to be able to show the other kids

0:19:52 > 0:19:56what we can do and, you know, being able to help them.

0:19:57 > 0:20:01Every opportunity we get to get more kids involved is great.

0:20:01 > 0:20:04The younger we can get the kids starting, the better.

0:20:04 > 0:20:07It helps us to make sure the future of skating in Britain

0:20:07 > 0:20:09is better than what we already have,

0:20:09 > 0:20:12and it would be amazing to think that if we could encourage

0:20:12 > 0:20:14these kids to start, maybe we could have

0:20:14 > 0:20:16a really strong team of skaters in the future.

0:20:19 > 0:20:21Today, ice dancer Ella

0:20:21 > 0:20:24is getting away from the rink by spending some time

0:20:24 > 0:20:26with her school friends, Immy and Georgie.

0:20:26 > 0:20:27I can't wait.

0:20:29 > 0:20:33They've always supported Ella in her skating and came to cheer her on

0:20:33 > 0:20:35in the gala last year.

0:20:39 > 0:20:42Immy and Georgie are my best friends from school

0:20:42 > 0:20:45and they are really sporty as well.

0:20:45 > 0:20:47I never have a dull moment with them.

0:20:47 > 0:20:48We're always laughing.

0:20:49 > 0:20:52And they never turn down a chance to hang out together.

0:20:52 > 0:20:54Ella's very dedicated.

0:20:56 > 0:20:58She skates a lot and gets up early.

0:20:58 > 0:21:01- I couldn't do that. - You are very dedicated.

0:21:01 > 0:21:02Thank you.

0:21:04 > 0:21:06But it's not about skating today.

0:21:06 > 0:21:09Ella has another hobby that she's taking up.

0:21:09 > 0:21:11This is the velodrome.

0:21:14 > 0:21:18It's cycling in a massive dome and you have to go really, really fast,

0:21:18 > 0:21:21but the bad thing is you have no brakes.

0:21:21 > 0:21:23You can't stop pedalling,

0:21:23 > 0:21:25otherwise you flip over the top of the handlebars.

0:21:25 > 0:21:28It's just so exciting.

0:21:28 > 0:21:33Ella loves it so much, she's even let her mum join in.

0:21:33 > 0:21:35All right there, girls? Remember what we're doing?

0:21:35 > 0:21:39Yes? Just don't forget, don't stop pedalling, all right?

0:21:39 > 0:21:42So we want no injuries today, particularly you, Ella.

0:21:42 > 0:21:44I'll try my hardest.

0:21:44 > 0:21:46- So don't fall off.- Yeah.

0:21:47 > 0:21:49Just a few last-minute safety checks...

0:21:54 > 0:21:55Yeah, I'm ready.

0:21:55 > 0:21:57It's time to get on the track.

0:21:57 > 0:22:01Half lap changes! Half lap changes!

0:22:01 > 0:22:03When I'm going round the track,

0:22:03 > 0:22:06all I can feel is the adrenaline pumping through me.

0:22:07 > 0:22:09You're going so fast.

0:22:09 > 0:22:12They're different because skating is graceful

0:22:12 > 0:22:16and you do everything slowly, but on the track, you just have to go.

0:22:18 > 0:22:20One more lap, black line, big push!

0:22:20 > 0:22:23Cote d'Azur, Cote d'Azur!

0:22:23 > 0:22:25Cote d'Azur! Cote d'Azur!

0:22:26 > 0:22:29Cote d'Azur! OK, ladies, hook your bikes up.

0:22:29 > 0:22:31That's it, well done.

0:22:31 > 0:22:35That was really hard and now I'm hot.

0:22:35 > 0:22:38- Cool.- Ella, that was so fun.

0:22:38 > 0:22:39I know.

0:22:39 > 0:22:41That session was really good.

0:22:41 > 0:22:44I really enjoyed going up high on the slopes

0:22:44 > 0:22:47and then zooming back down really quickly.

0:22:47 > 0:22:51It's basically like a roller-coaster and I love roller-coasters.

0:22:53 > 0:22:57I really enjoyed today, but I don't think I'll ever quit skating for it

0:22:57 > 0:23:02because I don't think I'll be that good and Sophie would kill me.

0:23:14 > 0:23:18It's late but Izzy has been called to the rink by coach Mandy

0:23:18 > 0:23:21to open an e-mail from the GB Academy.

0:23:23 > 0:23:27After years and years of tough training sessions and hard work,

0:23:27 > 0:23:30it's finally time for Izzy to find out if her Olympic dream

0:23:30 > 0:23:32can be kept alive.

0:23:40 > 0:23:43I've been waiting to hear about this result for a long,

0:23:43 > 0:23:46long time now, and I've put a lot of work in.

0:23:46 > 0:23:48I've trained the hardest I ever have done.

0:23:48 > 0:23:49Because I've tried my best,

0:23:49 > 0:23:52there's nothing more that I could have done, so if I don't get on,

0:23:52 > 0:23:54then I know maybe this isn't for me.

0:23:54 > 0:23:58Obviously, the day is here today, so I'm quite nervous.

0:23:58 > 0:24:01I'm really, really hoping that I've got on.

0:24:01 > 0:24:05Izzy's coach, Mandy, has always been her number one fan.

0:24:05 > 0:24:08This is important for Izzy because this is her last chance.

0:24:08 > 0:24:09She turns 18 soon.

0:24:09 > 0:24:13If she doesn't make it now, she'll be too old.

0:24:13 > 0:24:16And today she's here to support Izzy and her big moment.

0:24:16 > 0:24:20If she doesn't get on, I think she'll be absolutely devastated.

0:24:20 > 0:24:22She's put so much work into it.

0:24:22 > 0:24:25If she gets on, I think it's one of the most exciting things

0:24:25 > 0:24:27that can happen.

0:24:27 > 0:24:28So there's only one thing for it.

0:24:28 > 0:24:31It's time to get the results.

0:24:31 > 0:24:34- Hiya.- Hi, Mandy.- Hiya. Bit nervous?

0:24:34 > 0:24:36Yes. Yes.

0:24:36 > 0:24:39So, just remember,

0:24:39 > 0:24:43if it's a no, that's just the end of this journey in life,

0:24:43 > 0:24:47and then you will start another journey doing something else.

0:24:47 > 0:24:49- Yeah.- So, let's find out.- OK.

0:24:51 > 0:24:52Right.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54I can't even type properly!

0:24:56 > 0:24:58All right, here we go.

0:24:59 > 0:25:00OK.

0:25:05 > 0:25:07SHE TAPS HER NAILS

0:25:07 > 0:25:10- That's making mean more nervous. - Sorry!

0:25:10 > 0:25:12I'll join in!

0:25:15 > 0:25:17Load, load, load, load!

0:25:21 > 0:25:23- It's taking its time.- Loading!

0:25:26 > 0:25:31"Dear Isabelle, I want to extend my congratulations on your selection.

0:25:31 > 0:25:32"This is a tremendous achievement

0:25:32 > 0:25:34"and something you should be proud of.

0:25:34 > 0:25:36Oh, excellent!

0:25:36 > 0:25:39"Finally, I would like to thank you for your participation

0:25:39 > 0:25:41"and reiterate just how impressed and pleased we were

0:25:41 > 0:25:44"with your efforts and enthusiasm during the last few months.

0:25:44 > 0:25:47"We look forward to some exciting times ahead."

0:25:47 > 0:25:49Oh, exciting!

0:25:49 > 0:25:52Well done. Olympics, here we go!

0:25:52 > 0:25:57Yeah? In five years' time, we'll be seeing Izzy at the Olympics.

0:25:57 > 0:26:03I shall come and watch you and I'll be going, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!"

0:26:04 > 0:26:06I feel pretty amazed right now.

0:26:06 > 0:26:08I'm so excited for what's to come.

0:26:08 > 0:26:11Yeah, and I bet your parents will be so pleased.

0:26:11 > 0:26:16- Yes.- Sad, really, because it's like passing you on to another coach now.

0:26:16 > 0:26:17- Oh!- But it's...

0:26:17 > 0:26:21I've gone as far as you can with me and then I pass you on to the next.

0:26:21 > 0:26:23That's quite sad, that.

0:26:23 > 0:26:27You'll be going on to do these wonderful things in the Academy

0:26:27 > 0:26:30but you'll always, in my heart, be my skater.

0:26:30 > 0:26:33Oh! You're making me emotional.

0:26:33 > 0:26:34Yeah.

0:26:35 > 0:26:38I've managed to get on, which I cannot believe.

0:26:40 > 0:26:42It's been 15 years that I've been with Mandy,

0:26:42 > 0:26:46and she's been coaching me so thanks to her, I've managed to pass today.

0:26:46 > 0:26:49Just really speechless right now. I can't believe it.

0:26:49 > 0:26:53I'm just so excited to see what the next couple of years bring.

0:26:53 > 0:26:57You know, it's like the beginning of everything.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00It shouldn't be long before she'll be looking at the Olympics

0:27:00 > 0:27:02and it's going to be so exciting for her.

0:27:02 > 0:27:05And, after making coach Mandy's day,

0:27:05 > 0:27:09Izzy has one person she can't wait to share her big news with.

0:27:09 > 0:27:11Hi, Mum. Um...

0:27:11 > 0:27:12'How did you go, darling?'

0:27:12 > 0:27:14Good, I got on!

0:27:14 > 0:27:16Yeah, I know!

0:27:16 > 0:27:17Yeah.

0:27:17 > 0:27:20Thank you. Thanks, yeah, it's exciting.

0:27:20 > 0:27:22Love you too.

0:27:22 > 0:27:24Bye!

0:27:25 > 0:27:28Yeah, now that I'm kind of one step closer,

0:27:28 > 0:27:31when you've been chasing something for so long and it finally starts

0:27:31 > 0:27:34to become a reality almost,

0:27:34 > 0:27:36um, it's pretty crazy.

0:27:39 > 0:27:41Next time on Ice Stars...

0:27:41 > 0:27:46Jellie have a major setback a week away from their comeback skate.

0:27:46 > 0:27:48I can't do lifts at the minute.

0:27:48 > 0:27:52And it's an emotional roller-coaster when the Icicles head to Canada

0:27:52 > 0:27:54for the World Championships.

0:27:57 > 0:27:59You've represented your country

0:27:59 > 0:28:02and that's something that you should be amazingly proud of.
