0:00:55 > 0:00:58It's one thing baking a cake, but the next level

0:00:58 > 0:01:01is where you decorate it to absolute perfection.

0:01:01 > 0:01:02I hope and pray

0:01:02 > 0:01:06that they really attain the level that we know they can do.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08- All the best. I wish you luck. - Thank you.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11- I take it that's a witch's nose? - No, it's a witch's hat.

0:01:11 > 0:01:15My name is Aaron Craze, and I'm here to support the bakers.

0:01:15 > 0:01:16Boo!

0:01:27 > 0:01:29The finals kicked off in style.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31The bakers were stretched to their limits,

0:01:31 > 0:01:34working in pairs, baking in a professional kitchen

0:01:34 > 0:01:37for one of the country's top chefs, Michel Roux Jr.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40Saffron and Kieran really impressed Michel,

0:01:40 > 0:01:42but Freya and Kai just had the edge.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45I think Kai and Freya stood out for me,

0:01:45 > 0:01:48because of the finesse of the decor.

0:01:48 > 0:01:52And I really, really enjoyed that cinnamon shortbread biscuit.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54- They were perfect! - But can they maintain the standard

0:01:54 > 0:01:57as now, in the second of three final challenges,

0:01:57 > 0:02:01the bakers face two more demanding tasks?

0:02:01 > 0:02:02Now it's perfect.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04First, the temperature will rise

0:02:04 > 0:02:07as their baking know-how is put under the spotlight

0:02:07 > 0:02:09in The Knowledge Test.

0:02:10 > 0:02:15I have serious issues with this one. Her bagwork isn't particularly good.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18Then their creativity and technique will be pushed to the max.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20It's too hard!

0:02:20 > 0:02:22As the finalists work in pairs

0:02:22 > 0:02:25to design, bake and hand-deliver sweet and savoury treats

0:02:25 > 0:02:30to the cast and crew of London's smash hit West End musical, Wicked.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34- Well done, guys, that is absolutely, really tasty.- Really lovely.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37But which bakers will bewitch the judges today?

0:02:37 > 0:02:39Done!

0:02:39 > 0:02:40Will it be...

0:02:42 > 0:02:43..Saffron from Essex?

0:02:43 > 0:02:47I learned quite a few tips in the professional kitchen yesterday,

0:02:47 > 0:02:50so I'm definitely going to put them ahead today in my challenge,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52and I know I'm going to win it.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55Kieran, from York?

0:02:55 > 0:02:59It's been tough in the final so far, it's been really tough to get here,

0:02:59 > 0:03:03and I know it's going to get tougher, but I'm just going to try my hardest

0:03:03 > 0:03:05and just hope I can do it all.

0:03:06 > 0:03:07Freya from Newbury?

0:03:10 > 0:03:12I'm really, really, really excited

0:03:12 > 0:03:14about today, and what we're going to do,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16cos I really want to know how to do it.

0:03:17 > 0:03:18Or Kai from The Wirral?

0:03:20 > 0:03:22There's two days left to go,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24and my message to the competitors is,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26watch out, my bakes are better than yours,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28and I'm coming for you.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34The finalists are about to get a big surprise.

0:03:34 > 0:03:38They're going to be facing a totally new type of challenge.

0:03:38 > 0:03:41Welcome back, bakers. Your first challenge is the Knowledge Test.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45Taking it in turns, Mary and Paul will test your baking know-how

0:03:45 > 0:03:47with a series of questions and tasks

0:03:47 > 0:03:48so good luck.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51Their baking skills and knowledge

0:03:51 > 0:03:54are about to be put under the microscope.

0:03:54 > 0:03:55For queen of cakes Mary,

0:03:55 > 0:03:58the bakers must pipe two cupcakes with total precision.

0:03:58 > 0:03:59One with stars,

0:03:59 > 0:04:01the other with a swirl.

0:04:01 > 0:04:02For master baker Paul,

0:04:02 > 0:04:07the finalists must examine a loaf of bread, and work out it has no salt

0:04:07 > 0:04:10and has been under-proved, meaning it wasn't left long enough to rise.

0:04:12 > 0:04:13With the rain lashing down,

0:04:13 > 0:04:16Kieran is the first finalist

0:04:16 > 0:04:19to take the long walk to face the judges alone.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21But will he be able to keep a steady hand

0:04:21 > 0:04:23in this high-pressure situation?

0:04:34 > 0:04:35Thank you very much, Kieran.

0:04:35 > 0:04:37Place that bag down.

0:04:37 > 0:04:41Kieran's semi-final pittas showed he was pretty good with his bread,

0:04:41 > 0:04:44but will he taste that Paul's loaf is lacking salt

0:04:44 > 0:04:47and spot that it hasn't risen properly?

0:04:47 > 0:04:50It seems a bit dry. It doesn't seem to have much flavour to it.

0:04:50 > 0:04:53- I don't think there's any salt in there.- You don't?

0:04:53 > 0:04:56And I think it might be a bit overworked, because it's a bit tough.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59- Thank you. - Thank you very much, Kieran.

0:05:01 > 0:05:05So, what did the judges make of Kieran's skills?

0:05:05 > 0:05:06I thought he did very well,

0:05:06 > 0:05:10but of course, during the whole challenge,

0:05:10 > 0:05:12he's been piping very well. He knew what he was up to.

0:05:12 > 0:05:16On the bread challenge, he nailed the salt, he got the salt.

0:05:16 > 0:05:20The overworking thing... That's not overworked, that's fine.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22It is under-proved, which he missed.

0:05:22 > 0:05:25It was a curveball they threw to you, and you took it well.

0:05:25 > 0:05:29Um, yeah, yeah. I didn't think it was too hard,

0:05:29 > 0:05:32but it was definitely a bit of a challenge there.

0:05:33 > 0:05:38Saffron is the next finalist to put her skills in the spotlight.

0:05:38 > 0:05:41And after Kieran's perfect piping,

0:05:41 > 0:05:45normally-speedy Saffron needs to go slow and steady with her icing bag.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54Thank you, Saffron.

0:05:55 > 0:05:58After her less-than-perfect semi-final pittas,

0:05:58 > 0:06:00has Saffron brushed up on her bread enough

0:06:00 > 0:06:04to spot the missing salt and under-proving in Paul's loaf?

0:06:04 > 0:06:07It tastes really squidgy in the middle.

0:06:07 > 0:06:11I think that might be the bread where it might not have been cooked enough.

0:06:11 > 0:06:15- Is it because it's irregular, in shape?- Thank you very much, Saffron.

0:06:15 > 0:06:19So, did Saffron's baking skills shine?

0:06:19 > 0:06:23Well, her piping on this one, she's missed out on top of the sponge.

0:06:23 > 0:06:25I have serious issues with this one.

0:06:25 > 0:06:27What she was doing was double-piping.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31She caused ripples in each one. See the double ripple all the way round?

0:06:31 > 0:06:34Her bag work isn't particularly good.

0:06:34 > 0:06:37On the bread front, unfortunately, she failed on both points.

0:06:37 > 0:06:39How do you reckon you done, then?

0:06:39 > 0:06:43- I think the piping went OK, but I'm not sure about the bread.- Yeah?- Yeah.

0:06:44 > 0:06:49It's Kai's turn to be put through his paces by the judges.

0:06:49 > 0:06:53Kai has already proved he has the skills to make his bakes look great,

0:06:53 > 0:06:57but piping under this kind of pressure is a real test of nerve.

0:07:03 > 0:07:04Thank you.

0:07:04 > 0:07:08None of the finalists have spotted both problems with Paul's loaf yet,

0:07:08 > 0:07:11but can Kai pick up the missing salt

0:07:11 > 0:07:13and see that it hasn't risen well?

0:07:13 > 0:07:15It doesn't really have a flavour.

0:07:15 > 0:07:18It's just a bland flavour.

0:07:18 > 0:07:21Maybe it's undercooked slightly in the centre,

0:07:21 > 0:07:23- and dry.- And dry?

0:07:23 > 0:07:25Thanks, Kai.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Has Kai done enough to impress Mary and Paul?

0:07:29 > 0:07:32For me, his piping bag was far too close to the cake.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36He never left a big enough gap, so he didn't finish it,

0:07:36 > 0:07:39there wasn't any height, any boldness, to his spots.

0:07:39 > 0:07:42This I thought was OK, but he didn't quite finish it properly.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45On the bread, he thought it was dry.

0:07:45 > 0:07:47But most important of all,

0:07:47 > 0:07:50- he didn't notice there was no salt whatsoever in there.- Exactly.

0:07:50 > 0:07:54So how did this compare to the other challenges, Kai?

0:07:54 > 0:07:58It was definitely harder trying to criticise Paul Hollywood's bread,

0:07:58 > 0:08:01because to me it was a perfect loaf,

0:08:01 > 0:08:04but I could tell there was something wrong with it.

0:08:05 > 0:08:09Freya is the last finalist to face the judges.

0:08:09 > 0:08:12Will she be able to rise above her rival bakers

0:08:12 > 0:08:14and boost her chances of winning?

0:08:14 > 0:08:17Her icing has been faultless up until now,

0:08:17 > 0:08:20but will the cracks start to show

0:08:20 > 0:08:23when she pipes under this level of pressure?

0:08:27 > 0:08:29Thank you.

0:08:29 > 0:08:33If Freya figures out the problems with Paul's loaf,

0:08:33 > 0:08:36she'll be the only finalist to get both correct.

0:08:36 > 0:08:39Can she spot that it's missing salt and hasn't risen properly,

0:08:39 > 0:08:42and lift herself above the other bakers?

0:08:42 > 0:08:43There's no salt in it.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45Yep.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47Has it not risen very well?

0:08:47 > 0:08:49Thank you very much, Freya.

0:08:49 > 0:08:52But, how did Freya do overall?

0:08:52 > 0:08:57Well, Freya had her piping tube at a slight angle,

0:08:57 > 0:08:59so they're not absolutely upright.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02She did very well with her swirls,

0:09:02 > 0:09:03but her finishing off

0:09:03 > 0:09:05wasn't too good at the end.

0:09:05 > 0:09:08Bread, tick, tick, absolutely nailed both of them.

0:09:08 > 0:09:09I think she's done well.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12It was tougher because you couldn't revise for it,

0:09:12 > 0:09:17and cos you didn't know what was coming, you couldn't really prepare.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20So, it seems that Kieran impressed the most with his piping skills

0:09:20 > 0:09:23whereas Freya breezed through the bread challenge.

0:09:23 > 0:09:27But next, the bakers face their toughest test to date.

0:09:30 > 0:09:35The tension in the tent is higher than ever before.

0:09:35 > 0:09:38The bakers have no idea what they're about to face.

0:09:40 > 0:09:42Guys, it's time for your second task.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45You're going to be catering for a special birthday celebration.

0:09:45 > 0:09:48This is for the cast and crew

0:09:48 > 0:09:50of one of the West End's most popular musicals,

0:09:50 > 0:09:53Wicked.

0:09:53 > 0:09:55Oh, yes! Freya, Kieran,

0:09:55 > 0:09:57you'll be working in a team.

0:09:57 > 0:10:00Saffron and Kai, you'll be working in a team.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03There's a lot to do, so let's get baking.

0:10:03 > 0:10:04WITCH CACKLES

0:10:04 > 0:10:06This is a huge responsibility.

0:10:06 > 0:10:09The finalists will be baking sweet and savoury party food

0:10:09 > 0:10:13for the famous show's 5th birthday, attended by the cast and crew,

0:10:13 > 0:10:18including the main stars, Louise Dearman and Rachel Tucker.

0:10:18 > 0:10:22They'll be expecting bakes of the highest quality from each team,

0:10:22 > 0:10:25so it's vital the bakers make the right choice

0:10:25 > 0:10:27when deciding on their recipes.

0:10:27 > 0:10:30Have you made a joint decision yet, as a team?

0:10:30 > 0:10:32- Yep.- What are you going for?

0:10:32 > 0:10:33The mini pizzas.

0:10:33 > 0:10:35- Why?- Cos I've done them before.

0:10:35 > 0:10:37You're playing safe?

0:10:37 > 0:10:39- Yes.- OK. Saffron?

0:10:39 > 0:10:43I'm going for the cupcakes with butter icing on top,

0:10:43 > 0:10:45because I've done those before

0:10:45 > 0:10:47and I like decorating it as well.

0:10:47 > 0:10:49- Good luck. See you in a bit.- Thanks.

0:10:49 > 0:10:53So, Saffron and Kai are sticking to what they know best,

0:10:53 > 0:10:57but what are Freya and Kieran hoping to conjure up for those witches?

0:10:57 > 0:11:00- Have you decided what to bake? - We're doing some fruit tarts,

0:11:00 > 0:11:02and mini pizzas, which we're going to decorate

0:11:02 > 0:11:06with a special design, like a witch hat and things like that.

0:11:06 > 0:11:07Good stuff. All the best of luck,

0:11:07 > 0:11:10and I look forward to seeing and tasting your creations.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12- Thank you.- See you in a bit.

0:11:12 > 0:11:14With the recipes decided,

0:11:14 > 0:11:18both teams set to work on their bewitching bakes.

0:11:18 > 0:11:20Team Saffron and Kai

0:11:20 > 0:11:22are making mini pizzas and cupcakes.

0:11:22 > 0:11:25Team Freya and Kieran

0:11:25 > 0:11:28are baking mini pizzas and fruit tarts.

0:11:28 > 0:11:31These guys know their way round a kitchen, so if you want to bake

0:11:31 > 0:11:33make sure you ask an adult.

0:11:33 > 0:11:36True to form, speedy Saffron's made a lightning-quick start

0:11:36 > 0:11:39- to her cupcakes. - I really want to win this one,

0:11:39 > 0:11:42because the last challenge, Kai and Freya won,

0:11:42 > 0:11:46so I just want to give myself a chance

0:11:46 > 0:11:47to see if I can do it.

0:11:47 > 0:11:49I think we'll do quite well,

0:11:49 > 0:11:53and I definitely, I'm 100% sure that I reckon we'll win this one.

0:11:53 > 0:11:56Saffron's looking confident, but over on the other team,

0:11:56 > 0:12:00first-time pizza-maker Kieran is already making mistakes.

0:12:00 > 0:12:02He's added his water far too late

0:12:02 > 0:12:06and it's making his dough impossible to work with.

0:12:06 > 0:12:07Has he fallen at the first hurdle?

0:12:07 > 0:12:09- Hi, Kieran.- Hi.

0:12:10 > 0:12:11I notice when you're making dough,

0:12:11 > 0:12:15you never put all the water in at the flour stage.

0:12:15 > 0:12:17When you make a well in the middle of the flour

0:12:17 > 0:12:19and add three-quarters of the water,

0:12:19 > 0:12:20you literally go like this.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23Once you know you've picked up it up, then put the rest in.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26If you develop the dough to a ball, then try to add the water,

0:12:26 > 0:12:29as you can see, it's a bit of a nightmare. This will do,

0:12:29 > 0:12:31but it'll take a couple of minutes.

0:12:31 > 0:12:35Luckily Kieran won't have to start his dough again from scratch,

0:12:35 > 0:12:39but he's still lost baking time, and his rival, pizza-maker Kai,

0:12:39 > 0:12:41is comfortably speeding ahead.

0:12:41 > 0:12:44I'm feeling pretty confident about this challenge,

0:12:44 > 0:12:48cos in Round Two I made pizzas for the Technical.

0:12:48 > 0:12:51Where Kieran has never made pizzas before,

0:12:51 > 0:12:54over on the other team, his rival pizza-maker Kai

0:12:54 > 0:12:56is well within his comfort zone.

0:12:56 > 0:12:59Kai seems relaxed, but maybe too relaxed,

0:12:59 > 0:13:00cos his pizza dough

0:13:00 > 0:13:02is also proving tough to work with.

0:13:02 > 0:13:04Has he made a crucial error?

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Why isn't that water in that dough?

0:13:06 > 0:13:08I never added it, cos it says,

0:13:08 > 0:13:10"Add three quarters, then add more water if needed."

0:13:10 > 0:13:12Do you not think it's too dry?

0:13:12 > 0:13:14It is a little bit.

0:13:15 > 0:13:19Kai needs to get his dough back in the mixer and add more water, fast.

0:13:19 > 0:13:21It's going to cost him precious time

0:13:21 > 0:13:23to get it right.

0:13:23 > 0:13:26I do think Paul is right, cos

0:13:26 > 0:13:29it looks more like a pizza dough now,

0:13:29 > 0:13:31rather than a bread dough.

0:13:31 > 0:13:34Kai and Kieran must quickly get their difficult doughs covered

0:13:34 > 0:13:36and leave them to rest.

0:13:36 > 0:13:38It'll be a tight race to the finish,

0:13:38 > 0:13:42if they're to get their pizzas ready in time for the event.

0:13:42 > 0:13:44I'm very focused in this task,

0:13:44 > 0:13:49cos in the last task, my cakes were dry, I've got to up my game,

0:13:49 > 0:13:53so I'm just being focused,

0:13:53 > 0:13:55and hopefully it will pay off.

0:13:55 > 0:13:59Knowing that she must provide only the very best bakes,

0:13:59 > 0:14:01Freya is pulling out all the stops

0:14:01 > 0:14:04to get her pastry absolutely perfect.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06I'm rolling it out in clingfilm so it doesn't get dry,

0:14:06 > 0:14:10cos I've worked with pastry when I used flour,

0:14:10 > 0:14:12and it went a bit dry,

0:14:12 > 0:14:13so I'm using clingfilm

0:14:13 > 0:14:16and it's a lot easier to work on.

0:14:16 > 0:14:20With the West End celebrations edging ever closer,

0:14:20 > 0:14:22over on the other team,

0:14:22 > 0:14:24Saffron is also cooking up a storm.

0:14:24 > 0:14:26What are you making for us today?

0:14:26 > 0:14:28I'm making vanilla cupcakes

0:14:28 > 0:14:30with a chocolate butter icing.

0:14:30 > 0:14:33- Nice.- And a fondant decoration.

0:14:33 > 0:14:36You've got a good technique there, Saffron.

0:14:36 > 0:14:38That's more like it, isn't it?

0:14:38 > 0:14:39- Yeah.- Well done.

0:14:39 > 0:14:41Having piped like a pro,

0:14:41 > 0:14:45speedy Saffron wastes no time whacking her cupcakes in the oven.

0:14:46 > 0:14:48There's only 45 minutes to go,

0:14:48 > 0:14:50which means it's chop-chop

0:14:50 > 0:14:54- for the boys' pizza toppings. - I'm trying to get things precise,

0:14:54 > 0:14:56as I've got about half an hour

0:14:56 > 0:14:59to sort out my toppings.

0:14:59 > 0:15:02'While Kieran's happy to take his time, with speedy Saffron

0:15:02 > 0:15:05'cracking the whip, there's no let-up in the pace for Kai.'

0:15:05 > 0:15:08Kai, you need to try and hurry up.

0:15:09 > 0:15:13I need help at the moment. Do you know how to do butter icing?

0:15:13 > 0:15:16- Yeah, you do it by hand. - It takes longer by hand.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19Yeah, but you'll get the thing in and the flour will go everywhere.

0:15:19 > 0:15:21Will it?

0:15:21 > 0:15:24Kai's just helping me to the butter icing while I'm making

0:15:24 > 0:15:27the decorations for the cup cakes.

0:15:27 > 0:15:28It's like really helping me.

0:15:28 > 0:15:31'Outside, the rain might be pouring,

0:15:31 > 0:15:35'but it doesn't seem to be dampening the bakers' team spirit.'

0:15:35 > 0:15:39- Kieran, can you help me with something?- Yep, yep.

0:15:39 > 0:15:42- So one there.- Yep.- Ten.

0:15:42 > 0:15:44One there. 11.

0:15:44 > 0:15:4912. Just try not to break any of the others.

0:15:49 > 0:15:53- They're perfect size.- Good. - Thanks, Kieran.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56'Now Freya can get her pastry shells in the oven and baking.'

0:15:56 > 0:15:58All right, we've half an hour left,

0:15:58 > 0:16:00then we've to start packing up

0:16:00 > 0:16:03because we've got to get out of here, we've got a show to catch.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09'With the clock ticking, Freya realises there's a big problem

0:16:09 > 0:16:11'with Kieran's pizzas.'

0:16:11 > 0:16:13Kieran, are they in the oven?

0:16:13 > 0:16:16- What? Do they need to be...? - Half an hour.- Half an...

0:16:16 > 0:16:19'Kieran really needs to move,

0:16:19 > 0:16:21'he's only just started to roll out his pizza bases

0:16:21 > 0:16:23'and they need 15 minutes to bake.'

0:16:23 > 0:16:26I'm rushing a bit here but I don't want to get them wrong.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29So, I'm just trying to get them done quickly.

0:16:29 > 0:16:31'Saffron is first to get her bake out of the oven

0:16:31 > 0:16:34'and, with her cupcakes cooling, she can make a start

0:16:34 > 0:16:37'on her fondant witches' hats and broomsticks.'

0:16:37 > 0:16:39Saffron, how is it going, mate?

0:16:39 > 0:16:41It's going good.

0:16:41 > 0:16:44This is the final stages of the competition.

0:16:44 > 0:16:49- How are you feeling?- It is a little bit more pressure than usual

0:16:49 > 0:16:53but I also shouldn't think that because I start rushing.

0:16:53 > 0:16:57- All the best.- Thank you. - I take it that's a witch's nose?

0:16:57 > 0:16:58No, it's a witch's hat.

0:16:58 > 0:17:01'Saffron's working fast and so is her team-mate.

0:17:01 > 0:17:04'With plenty of time to spare Kai whips his pizzas in the oven

0:17:04 > 0:17:07'and he's confident his speedy work has given him

0:17:07 > 0:17:10'the advantage over Kieran and Freya.'

0:17:10 > 0:17:15I do think that we've got the edge because they're not moving forwards.

0:17:15 > 0:17:17They're taking two steps forwards and one step back.

0:17:17 > 0:17:19We're taking two steps forward.

0:17:19 > 0:17:22'On the other team, while her pastry shells are baking,

0:17:22 > 0:17:26'Freya must quickly get her head around the tricky custard filling,

0:17:26 > 0:17:30'but she's in unknown territory, having never attempted this before.'

0:17:30 > 0:17:34I need to get on with this. I can't really rush it.

0:17:35 > 0:17:37What's in there? Sugar?

0:17:37 > 0:17:40- And flour...- Eggs.

0:17:40 > 0:17:42- This is boiling.- It is now.

0:17:42 > 0:17:46'It's a fiddly process so Paul steps in to help a baker in need.'

0:17:46 > 0:17:49'It's vital she keeps stirring the custard filling,

0:17:49 > 0:17:54to make sure it stays silky smooth and doesn't go lumpy.'

0:17:54 > 0:17:58- Have you made this before? - Er, no, I haven't.

0:17:58 > 0:18:00But, I think it's going all right.

0:18:00 > 0:18:04'Whilst Freya is taking her time, back on the other team,

0:18:04 > 0:18:06'Saffron's rushing to get finished.

0:18:06 > 0:18:09'But things are not going to plan.'

0:18:09 > 0:18:10Oh, it's too hard.

0:18:10 > 0:18:13Kai, I can't do it.

0:18:13 > 0:18:16The hats and that. It's way hard.

0:18:16 > 0:18:20I was going to make a wand, a witch's hat

0:18:20 > 0:18:24and a shoe, but they're not really working out.

0:18:24 > 0:18:28So, it's been really hard.

0:18:28 > 0:18:30I just going to make the sign.

0:18:32 > 0:18:33Oh!

0:18:33 > 0:18:35I'm just making a "W" for Wicked.

0:18:35 > 0:18:39'Fingers crossed Saffron's back-up decorations will be enough

0:18:39 > 0:18:41'to impress the judges and wow those witches.

0:18:41 > 0:18:44'There's 15 minutes on the clock

0:18:44 > 0:18:47'and, at the theatre, the party preparations are nearly in place.'

0:18:48 > 0:18:50With her pastry shells cooling,

0:18:50 > 0:18:53'Freya knows she must help her team-mate pick up the pace

0:18:53 > 0:18:58'and get his mini pizzas in the oven if they're going to bake in time.'

0:18:58 > 0:19:00- Shall I do one? - Yes, let me show you first.

0:19:00 > 0:19:02Is that all right?

0:19:02 > 0:19:03See it's...

0:19:03 > 0:19:05Perfect. That is brilliant.

0:19:05 > 0:19:06SCARY LAUGHTER

0:19:06 > 0:19:09'That's impressive but your chorizo is making you choriz-slow.

0:19:12 > 0:19:15- Quickly.- Top shelf.- Oh!

0:19:15 > 0:19:17Is the shelf a bit high?

0:19:19 > 0:19:23'And as Freya and Kieran's pizzas finally go in the oven,

0:19:23 > 0:19:26'Kai and Saffron's are already coming out.'

0:19:26 > 0:19:30I think the pizzas look really nice. When they came out of the oven,

0:19:30 > 0:19:33all this nice, hot smelling steam came in my face.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35I was like that, "Oh..."

0:20:02 > 0:20:05'With only a few minutes until they have to leave,

0:23:19 > 0:23:21OK, see what it's like.

0:23:23 > 0:23:26The flavours are coming through.

0:23:26 > 0:23:29A bit of heat from the chorizo coming through.

0:23:29 > 0:23:34Then it stops. It needs more jazzing up.

0:23:34 > 0:23:35It needs more topping, I think.

0:23:35 > 0:23:38So, Freya's tart now.

0:23:38 > 0:23:40It's going in in one go.

0:23:40 > 0:23:41Mmm.

0:23:56 > 0:23:58It was absolutely delicious.

0:23:58 > 0:24:03'Next to serve their bakes, it's Kai and Saffron.

0:24:53 > 0:24:58'Saffron and Kai's bakes have worked their magic with the cast and crew,

0:24:58 > 0:25:00'but they need a glowing review

0:25:00 > 0:25:04'from the judges to rise above their rivals and win the challenge.'

0:25:04 > 0:25:07I think we have to try Kai's lovely looking pizza with that topping.

0:25:07 > 0:25:10I'm looking forward to this. It looks tight inside.

0:25:10 > 0:25:13The dough itself, very small air holes. However, the bake looks good.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18Mm, the toppings are good.

0:25:18 > 0:25:21The texture of that pizza base is excellent.

0:25:21 > 0:25:24So, Saffron's bake.

0:25:24 > 0:25:25It is beautifully moist.

0:25:25 > 0:25:29It has dipped a little because it was slightly undercooked.

0:25:29 > 0:25:32The fondant, on the top,

0:25:32 > 0:25:36- she has forgotten to stick it down and it comes right off.- Yeah.

0:25:36 > 0:25:38Let's just see how it tastes.

0:25:40 > 0:25:43The blend between the two from the top and bottom is good.

0:25:43 > 0:25:46It's a nice cup cake. It could have been a bit neater.

0:25:46 > 0:25:49It could have been more colourful and exciting.

0:25:49 > 0:25:52'With the cast and crew happily full from their birthday bakes,

0:25:52 > 0:25:54'it's the moment of truth.

0:26:22 > 0:26:24APPLAUSE

0:26:24 > 0:26:27'Freya and Kieran have won the task and can go into the final challenge

0:26:27 > 0:26:30'brimming with confidence.'

0:26:30 > 0:26:34I was happy to have won. I was excited when they said our names.

0:26:34 > 0:26:36The only reason the other team won

0:26:36 > 0:26:40was because we've won so many times, the judges fancied a change.

0:26:43 > 0:26:46'With two of the final challenges down, one challenge remains.

0:26:46 > 0:26:48'Now, it's every baker for themselves

0:26:48 > 0:26:51'as they go head-to-head in the grand final.'

0:26:55 > 0:26:57- That's scary, isn't it?- Yeah.

0:26:57 > 0:26:59'Next time, the finalists will have to produce

0:26:59 > 0:27:01'their most spectacular bakes yet.'

0:27:02 > 0:27:05Everything is looking good.

0:27:05 > 0:27:06They're all perfect.

0:27:06 > 0:27:08'Working from their own unique recipes

0:27:08 > 0:27:11'to create an epic tea party extravaganza
