0:03:58 > 0:04:02out of bamboo sticks and tissue paper.
0:04:02 > 0:04:06Buddhist teachings remind us that working together
0:04:06 > 0:04:10and being kind to each other is really important.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Ah, speaking of stories,
0:04:54 > 0:04:58Buddhists tell stories which were once told by Buddha himself.
0:04:58 > 0:05:02They're great! One of them is about an elephant
0:05:02 > 0:05:06which became best friends with another animal.
0:05:06 > 0:05:08Which animal do you think it is?
0:05:10 > 0:05:11I'll tell you.
0:05:11 > 0:05:13It's a dog!
0:05:15 > 0:05:19It is believed, Buddha himself told the story
0:05:19 > 0:05:22of the elephant and the dog many years ago.
0:05:24 > 0:05:30These people are making the elephant in our story using sand.

0:05:44 > 0:05:47He had lots of servants who worked hard
0:05:47 > 0:05:51to make sure he had everything he needed.
0:05:54 > 0:05:59Every evening, a little dog would join the elephant
0:05:59 > 0:06:01and they would eat dinner together.
0:06:01 > 0:06:04They were great friends.
0:06:06 > 0:06:12But one day, a passing farmer saw the little dog and decided to buy him.
0:06:12 > 0:06:17So the dog was taken away and the elephant became very sad and lonely.
0:06:20 > 0:06:22ELEPHANT TRUMPETS
0:06:27 > 0:06:31The king couldn't understand what was wrong with the elephant
0:06:31 > 0:06:33so he called the doctor.
0:06:40 > 0:06:42After examining him,
0:06:42 > 0:06:46the doctor realised the only thing the elephant needed
0:06:46 > 0:06:48was his good friend, the dog!
0:06:48 > 0:06:52So the king called for the dog to be returned
0:06:52 > 0:06:56and he came bounding back as fast as he could.
0:06:57 > 0:07:03The elephant was so happy, he picked the dog up with his trunk
0:07:03 > 0:07:06and placed him gently on his head.
0:07:06 > 0:07:13Everyone marvelled at the dog who was sat on the royal elephant's head.
