0:00:08 > 0:00:09What's up, Lifebabblers?

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Today we're going to be talking about something you might be

0:00:12 > 0:00:15familiar with, getting into trouble at school.

0:00:15 > 0:00:17So, what do our Lifebabblers think?

0:00:20 > 0:00:21I got in trouble once,

0:00:21 > 0:00:24but I've never felt more upset and disappointed in myself

0:00:24 > 0:00:27when my lovely teacher said that she thought I was nicer than that.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30I'd often find myself playing the class clown to try

0:00:30 > 0:00:31and get everyone's attention.

0:00:31 > 0:00:35The kids loved it, but I don't think the teachers did.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37I was really, really rude to a teacher

0:00:37 > 0:00:40and I got into so much trouble for it at school.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42After, I felt so bad about it.

0:00:42 > 0:00:43I didn't actually mess about that much,

0:00:43 > 0:00:46but whenever I did, I'd always feel really, really guilty because

0:00:46 > 0:00:49at the end of the day the teacher was just trying to help us

0:00:49 > 0:00:51and me messing about wasn't fair on them.

0:00:53 > 0:00:57We all make mistakes and mess up every now and then.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59If you've done something wrong at school,

0:00:59 > 0:01:04the most courageous thing is to stand up, own it and apologise.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07Be honest and learn from the experience

0:01:07 > 0:01:09so that you don't make the same mistake again.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Realising you've messed up, acknowledging it,

0:01:12 > 0:01:15and asking for forgiveness is all part of growing up,

0:01:15 > 0:01:19particularly since we can't expect ourselves to never mess up.

0:01:19 > 0:01:23Making mistakes is how we learn, we can't always get everything right.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31- Who are you?- I'm you.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33From the future.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36I'm here to warn you about the consequences of your actions.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38You don't look that much older.

0:01:40 > 0:01:41But, OK, I'll go with it.

0:01:41 > 0:01:43I'll explain on the way.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47Oh, look, that's me.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51And what is that horrible smell?

0:01:51 > 0:01:54You never did any of your homework or chores,

0:01:54 > 0:01:57so you never learned to take on personal responsibility,

0:01:57 > 0:02:01in fact, you've been wearing those same pair of socks for three

0:02:01 > 0:02:02weeks now.

0:02:02 > 0:02:06And what's happened to my pet plant, Vera?

0:02:06 > 0:02:09Your lack of responsibility meant you forgot to look after it.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11NOOOOOO!

0:02:11 > 0:02:14How can I stop this avoidable future from happening?

0:02:14 > 0:02:16As long as we learn from our mistakes,

0:02:16 > 0:02:18we can stop them from happening again.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20Wowzer!

0:02:20 > 0:02:21Thanks, Future Mark.

0:02:24 > 0:02:25HE CLICKS HIS TONGUE

0:02:32 > 0:02:35It's completely normal to feel ashamed, nervous or scared

0:02:35 > 0:02:37when you're owning up to a mistake.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39But by dealing with the problem straight away you get

0:02:39 > 0:02:41rid of it before it gets bigger.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43Of course, there will be consequences

0:02:43 > 0:02:46and that might be really hard, but ultimately your school

0:02:46 > 0:02:48and your teachers are there to help you.

0:02:49 > 0:02:52PHONE RINGS

0:02:52 > 0:02:53One of the things that made me

0:02:53 > 0:02:56get in trouble at school was forgetting my books.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58Then I realised that it would be better

0:02:58 > 0:03:02if I just figured out what lessons I'd have for the next day,

0:03:02 > 0:03:03so that I could pack my books

0:03:03 > 0:03:06and then be more prepared for the following day.

0:03:08 > 0:03:13I've got in trouble at school for talking and not doing my work.

0:03:13 > 0:03:15I just don't know when to be quiet.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19But next time I'm just going to turn it down and not talk as much.

0:03:20 > 0:03:21Maybe just do my work(!)

0:03:24 > 0:03:26I actually got banned from the school computers

0:03:26 > 0:03:29once for playing games on there that we weren't allowed to play.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31I felt really bad for intentionally breaking the rules, but now

0:03:31 > 0:03:34I no longer play games and I get a lot more work done because of it.

0:03:34 > 0:03:36You could say I'm glad that that happened

0:03:36 > 0:03:38because I learned from my mistakes

0:03:38 > 0:03:41and now I'm more motivated than ever to get my work done.

0:03:41 > 0:03:43That's it for today, guys.

0:03:43 > 0:03:47Check out the CBBC website for more Lifebabble tips.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49See you next time, and keep babbling.
