0:00:10 > 0:00:11Hey, Lifebabblers.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14Today we're going to be talking about something

0:00:14 > 0:00:17lots of people find really difficult to talk about -

0:00:17 > 0:00:20what happens and how it feels when someone dies.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25When somebody dies,

0:00:25 > 0:00:27it means their body has stopped working.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29It means they won't come back.

0:00:34 > 0:00:39Talking about death can be really hard and make you feel really upset,

0:00:39 > 0:00:42but it is a part of life and, the more we talk about it,

0:00:42 > 0:00:45the more we can begin to understand and share how we feel.

0:00:48 > 0:00:52When someone dies it can be really difficult to understand

0:00:52 > 0:00:55and deal with what's happened.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57It's normal for people to experience

0:00:57 > 0:01:00a rollercoaster of different emotions.

0:01:00 > 0:01:04You might feel very sad - maybe sadder than you've ever felt before.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07..like you can't believe it.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10..like you can't feel anything.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14..although you might not know who with, or why.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17..although it wasn't your fault.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21..because you miss that person very much.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25..that it might happen to you or someone else.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28..because that person isn't poorly any more.

0:01:28 > 0:01:32It's normal to feel any or all of those things.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34These feelings are called "grief",

0:01:34 > 0:01:36and they happen to everybody.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38There's no right or wrong way to grieve.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42But it's important to...

0:01:43 > 0:01:45..and not hide them inside.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52When my grandma died, I was only seven.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56It was the first time I had lost anyone close to me.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00I didn't quite understand and I was feeling really confused by it all.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03I wanted to remember happy thoughts about my grandma,

0:02:03 > 0:02:06so I wrote a poem, which I read out after her funeral.

0:02:06 > 0:02:08The funeral was hard to get through,

0:02:08 > 0:02:11but the poem helped me express myself.

0:02:11 > 0:02:12I also made a picture collage

0:02:12 > 0:02:14to help remember her.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20There's actually a lot of help and support

0:02:20 > 0:02:22that's available for you when somebody dies.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24The best think to do is...

0:02:24 > 0:02:26..with your family and friends.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29Some of your friends might not quite know what to say,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32but give them some time and they will come around.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35Your school might have a...

0:02:35 > 0:02:38There are also...

0:02:38 > 0:02:41..that are especially set up to help...

0:02:41 > 0:02:43..when somebody close has died.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46Sometimes people celebrate the lives of loved ones,

0:02:46 > 0:02:49and different cultures deal with death in different ways.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51I know it can be hard to believe that you'll ever feel OK,

0:02:51 > 0:02:54especially when you're right in the middle of it.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56It's really important to...

0:02:56 > 0:02:58..to grieve.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09# It will be hard to smile

0:03:09 > 0:03:11# It might take a little while

0:03:11 > 0:03:14# But remember the good times, the joy of the past

0:03:14 > 0:03:17# Don't forget all the stories, it's OK to laugh

0:03:17 > 0:03:20# Those memories will never fade

0:03:20 > 0:03:23# Sadness will leave but love will stay

0:03:23 > 0:03:25# So remember the good times, the joy of the past

0:03:25 > 0:03:29# Don't forget all the stories, just let yourself laugh. #
