0:00:32 > 0:00:36basic things - like food, clothes or a place to live.
0:00:36 > 0:00:39And it can affect everybody, people like you and me.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43People can experience poverty for a short amount of time,
0:00:43 > 0:00:46people can experience poverty for the whole of their lives.

0:01:20 > 0:01:22That he still succeeded, it really motivated me
0:01:22 > 0:01:25and showed me that you CAN overcome hard circumstances.
0:01:25 > 0:01:28My family and I have experienced poverty,
0:01:28 > 0:01:31it was when my dad had to go through a temporary redundancy.
0:01:31 > 0:01:34Even though I was sad when it happened, in the end
0:01:34 > 0:01:36it made me extremely happy because I learnt how to get creative
0:01:36 > 0:01:38with whatever I had.
0:01:38 > 0:01:41I didn't know there were ways to donate until just recently.
0:01:41 > 0:01:43I now know that there's food banks,
0:01:43 > 0:01:47clothes banks, and ways to give to people in poverty.
0:01:49 > 0:01:51People experience poverty
0:01:51 > 0:01:53for all sorts of reasons,
0:01:53 > 0:01:54and there's no shame in it.
0:01:54 > 0:01:58You may think you're the only one, but
0:01:58 > 0:02:00lots of families go through poverty.
0:02:00 > 0:02:02And it's not your fault.
0:02:02 > 0:02:04When you or your family lack money,
0:02:04 > 0:02:06it can cause stress and worry.
0:02:06 > 0:02:09You might find the adults in your life argue,
0:02:09 > 0:02:13and that might make you feel anxious and worried.
0:02:13 > 0:02:15It can affect the way you feel about yourself,
0:02:15 > 0:02:19so it's important not to bottle up your feelings.
0:02:19 > 0:02:23Not having money doesn't mean you're worth any less,
0:02:23 > 0:02:26and there's no shame in asking for help and support.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42can help anyone going through a rough time keep a positive attitude.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54Maybe go to the park, or join a club at school.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57Be kind and understanding.
0:02:57 > 0:02:58Show you care, and don't judge others.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03If you feel you are being judged unfairly,
