0:02:39 > 0:02:40Are you ready?

0:02:41 > 0:02:42Are YOU ready?

0:02:43 > 0:02:45Off we go.

0:02:56 > 0:03:02'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house

0:03:02 > 0:03:06Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse

0:03:10 > 0:03:14The stockings were hung by the chimney with care

0:03:17 > 0:03:20In hope that St Nicholas soon would be there.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37The children were nestled all snug in their beds

0:03:40 > 0:03:44While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

0:03:50 > 0:03:55And Mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap

0:03:59 > 0:04:04Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.

0:04:07 > 0:04:11CLATTERING

0:04:11 > 0:04:14When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter

0:04:16 > 0:04:20I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

0:04:20 > 0:04:24Away to the window I flew like a flash

0:04:24 > 0:04:27Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

0:04:49 > 0:04:52Gave the lustre of midday to objects below.

0:04:56 > 0:05:00When what to my wondering eyes should appear

0:05:00 > 0:05:06But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer!

0:05:18 > 0:05:23With a little old driver so lively and quick

0:05:25 > 0:05:28I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34More rapid than eagles his coursers they came.

0:05:35 > 0:05:39And he whistled and shouted and called them by name!

0:05:41 > 0:05:44"Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer!

0:05:44 > 0:05:47"Now, Prancer and Vixen!"

0:05:48 > 0:05:50"On, Comet! On, Cupid!"

0:05:52 > 0:05:54"On, Donner and Blitzen!"

0:05:57 > 0:06:00"To the top of the porch!

0:06:00 > 0:06:02"To the top of the wall!

0:06:02 > 0:06:04"Now dash away! Dash away!

0:06:04 > 0:06:05"Dash away, all!"

0:06:12 > 0:06:16As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly

0:06:16 > 0:06:20When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

0:06:21 > 0:06:25So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

0:06:25 > 0:06:28With the sleigh full of toys, and St Nicholas too.

0:06:28 > 0:06:30CLATTERING

0:06:30 > 0:06:34And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

0:06:34 > 0:06:37The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42As I drew in my head and was turning around

0:06:46 > 0:06:50Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

0:07:10 > 0:07:14He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot

0:07:19 > 0:07:24And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

0:07:24 > 0:07:27A bundle of toys he had flung on his back

0:07:29 > 0:07:33And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

0:07:43 > 0:07:45His eyes, how they twinkled!

0:07:48 > 0:07:50His dimples how merry!

0:07:52 > 0:07:55His cheeks were like roses

0:07:55 > 0:07:57His nose like a cherry!

0:08:00 > 0:08:03He had a broad face and a little round belly

0:08:05 > 0:08:09That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

0:08:24 > 0:08:29He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf

0:08:29 > 0:08:32And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.

0:08:42 > 0:08:46A wink of his eye and a twist of his head

0:08:46 > 0:08:49Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

0:08:57 > 0:09:01He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work

0:09:01 > 0:09:05And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

0:09:06 > 0:09:10And laying his finger aside of his nose

0:09:10 > 0:09:13And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

0:09:23 > 0:09:27He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle

0:09:29 > 0:09:32And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight

0:09:47 > 0:09:52ALL: "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

0:09:58 > 0:10:00Did you enjoy that?

0:10:02 > 0:10:07Make sure you keep an eye out for Santa this Christmas Eve.

0:10:09 > 0:10:14He's going to be a very busy man delivering all those presents,

0:10:14 > 0:10:16so don't forget to leave out a mince pie

0:10:16 > 0:10:19and a nice glass of milk for him.

0:10:19 > 0:10:22And don't forget the carrot for the reindeer.

0:10:22 > 0:10:23THEY LAUGH

0:10:25 > 0:10:27Merry Christmas to all of you.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29ALL: Bye-bye!
