0:00:16 > 0:00:18Om, nom...

0:00:18 > 0:00:19..mad to mess about...

0:00:36 > 0:00:38But I've taken over the kitchen in this house.

0:00:38 > 0:00:39What are you doing?

0:00:39 > 0:00:41I'm looking for my frying pan. Tilly...

0:00:41 > 0:00:42Tilly rules, OK?

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Mum!

0:00:44 > 0:00:46- This is really... - Let go of me! La, la, la...

0:00:51 > 0:00:54We're in LA, on the amazing Californian coast,

0:00:54 > 0:00:56where I'm cooking up a storm...

0:00:56 > 0:00:57Mmm!

0:00:57 > 0:00:59..and writing my food blog.

0:01:00 > 0:01:04The whole Ramsay bunch are totally, totally crazy about animals,

0:01:04 > 0:01:07and in California the wildlife is brilliant.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11But the Californian sea lions are in real trouble.

0:01:11 > 0:01:15A lot of pups are dying because of especially warm waters this year.

0:01:15 > 0:01:16So the big question is...

0:01:22 > 0:01:24We're off to the Californian Wildlife Center,

0:01:24 > 0:01:26that rescues animals.

0:01:26 > 0:01:27Ooh, dropping off an animal...

0:01:27 > 0:01:29- Come on, then, Jack.- Eurgh!

0:01:31 > 0:01:32THEY LAUGH

0:01:32 > 0:01:34I'm so excited to go.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36First up, we're meeting the sea lions.

0:01:36 > 0:01:37I hope we get to feed them.

0:01:37 > 0:01:38- Hey, guys! - Hi!- Hello!- Hi!

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Ready to see some sea lions today?

0:01:40 > 0:01:41- ALL:- Yeah!- So excited.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44All right. Let's go.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46As well as visiting the sick sea lions,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49I'm going to be making some super special cakes

0:01:49 > 0:01:51and an absolutely delicious treat...

0:01:51 > 0:01:52Eurgh!

0:01:52 > 0:01:54..for sea lions.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56Pick out a pair of these. Find ones that fit you.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59I'm very jealous of that pink jumpsuit, over there.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02We look a bit stupid, but definitely professional.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03Photo time!

0:02:04 > 0:02:07And so these are the three sea lion patients we're going to be

0:02:07 > 0:02:08working with today.

0:02:08 > 0:02:09Look at the eyes!

0:02:09 > 0:02:13The biggest one's called El Jefe - that means "the boss".

0:02:13 > 0:02:14He's got a chest infection.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Are any of them injured when you get them?

0:02:16 > 0:02:18- They can have shark bites. - Shark bites?

0:02:18 > 0:02:20Sometimes a wave could crash them into rocks

0:02:20 > 0:02:22and they'll get cuts on them.

0:02:22 > 0:02:26The centre rescues up to 50 seals and sea lions every month,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29makes them better, then releases them back into the wild.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31They are really cute!

0:02:31 > 0:02:34- I want one as a pet! - Let's ask Mum.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36Do you guys know how to tell the difference

0:02:36 > 0:02:38- between a seal and a sea lion? - No.- No idea.

0:02:38 > 0:02:39Look on the side of their heads.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42If you see ear flaps, that always means it's a sea lion.

0:02:42 > 0:02:45If they just have a round head with no ear flaps, it's a seal.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47Aur! Aur! Aur!

0:02:47 > 0:02:49One of the most important things

0:02:49 > 0:02:51is to make sure the sea lions feed properly.

0:02:51 > 0:02:52I feel like a dentist.

0:02:52 > 0:02:57They're going to get 1.75 lbs of herring for breakfast.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00Come on, Ramsay wildlife team!

0:03:00 > 0:03:01- Brrrrrr!- Stop!

0:03:01 > 0:03:04As well as feeding them up to get healthy,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06these three sea lions are on special medicine -

0:03:06 > 0:03:09one super-strength vitamin pill each -

0:03:09 > 0:03:11so we hide them in the gills of the fish.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13- POP! - Ew, something popped!

0:03:13 > 0:03:14Yay!

0:03:14 > 0:03:17First, each sea lion gets his vit-fish,

0:03:17 > 0:03:19then it's a full-on fishy feast!

0:03:19 > 0:03:20Come and get it!

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Whoa!

0:03:28 > 0:03:29This is so fun.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35That was so cool. I loved it. I want one, but I'm not allowed.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37All right, so I need to make some fish gruel.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39Who wants to help me with that?

0:03:39 > 0:03:40I'll help you.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42- Good luck, Tills. - Bye, guys.- Have fun.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45This is going to be great - cooking for sea lions!

0:03:46 > 0:03:48They've even got their own kitchen!

0:03:48 > 0:03:51Four pounds herring - no heads, no tails.

0:03:51 > 0:03:55So you're going to put all the heads and tails in this,

0:03:55 > 0:03:57and then you're going to put just the bodies in here.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59I've cooked loads of different recipes,

0:03:59 > 0:04:01but I don't think I've ever done one for an animal.

0:04:01 > 0:04:04This fish gruel is for the sea lions when they first come in

0:04:04 > 0:04:06and they're too sick to eat whole fish.

0:04:06 > 0:04:08Where do the sea lions go to see movies?

0:04:11 > 0:04:13Where do sea lions...? I don't know.

0:04:13 > 0:04:14The "dive-in".

0:04:14 > 0:04:15The dive-in?

0:04:15 > 0:04:17HE LAUGHS

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Next, we put all the ingredients that will make the sea lions

0:04:19 > 0:04:21well again into a blender...

0:04:21 > 0:04:24Here goes my first sea lion recipe.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26..add the herring and blitz.

0:04:27 > 0:04:29This is like a fish smoothie!

0:04:29 > 0:04:31Oh! It's splashing!

0:04:31 > 0:04:32Sorry.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36- Eurgh...- Mmm...

0:04:36 > 0:04:38Why don't you just smell it - tell me what it smells like?

0:04:38 > 0:04:41- Like fish.- It smells like fish.

0:04:41 > 0:04:43I'm not too sure how much my dad would like this.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46I don't think he would be serving this anywhere.

0:04:46 > 0:04:47Eurgh!

0:04:47 > 0:04:49Yeah, I know this might be quite good for the sea lions,

0:04:49 > 0:04:51- but I think I'm going to taste it. - Eurgh!

0:04:51 > 0:04:52No, you don't want to do that!

0:04:52 > 0:04:54I'm joking!

0:04:54 > 0:04:56It's not just sea lions that get help here.

0:04:56 > 0:05:01The centre rescues 300 Californian birds and animals every month.

0:05:01 > 0:05:04This pen, to the right - these are all crow pens.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07This pen, over here, that we're going to feed are ravens.

0:05:07 > 0:05:09So we're going in the ravens' hut. I'm so excited!

0:05:09 > 0:05:12Warning! Shut your eyes if you're squeamish!

0:05:12 > 0:05:14If you guys want, you can take some of this

0:05:14 > 0:05:16and sprinkle it around on the ground.

0:05:17 > 0:05:18OMG! Dead mice!

0:05:18 > 0:05:22That's the grossest lunch I've ever seen!

0:05:22 > 0:05:26This is so disgusting with all the dead mice.

0:05:26 > 0:05:28Jack looks like he's having a fun time.

0:05:28 > 0:05:30Feeding session number one!

0:05:30 > 0:05:33The next guys we're going to feed are our skunks.

0:05:33 > 0:05:37You can see their diet is like some mice, dog food, fruits,

0:05:37 > 0:05:40vegetables and then whatever seasonal produce...

0:05:40 > 0:05:43So, today, it's blueberries, grapes...

0:05:43 > 0:05:44They make really bad smells, don't they?

0:05:44 > 0:05:49Yes. And I got sprayed in the face, and it burns!

0:05:49 > 0:05:51That's how skunks defend themselves when they're scared -

0:05:51 > 0:05:55with a super smelly poison, shot from a gland in their bums!

0:05:55 > 0:05:57Let's go, Ramsay wildlife team!

0:06:00 > 0:06:03Guys, why don't we do something for this place?

0:06:03 > 0:06:04- Like help them out?- Yeah.

0:06:04 > 0:06:06Time for a Ramsay Bunch plan!

0:06:06 > 0:06:07Bake sale!

0:06:07 > 0:06:09- Awesome.- Let's go.

0:06:09 > 0:06:11To pull this off, we're heading to Malibu Pier

0:06:11 > 0:06:14where there'll be loads of potential customers,

0:06:14 > 0:06:17and we're roping in our friends, Mia and Cozzy, to help.

0:06:19 > 0:06:21The guys are designing the cake stall.

0:06:21 > 0:06:24- I nominate you as sandwich board. - Awesome.

0:06:24 > 0:06:25I want to draw a seal.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28Lots of glitter, so that everyone's attracted to it.

0:06:28 > 0:06:31And I'm in charge of baking the cakes to raise money.

0:06:31 > 0:06:35Why cook boring biscuits when you can make brilliant ones instead,

0:06:35 > 0:06:37especially if you need to make an impression?

0:06:37 > 0:06:40These are my SOS - save our sea lions - biscuits.

0:06:42 > 0:06:45These biscuits are so easy.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47First, I'm going to add in the butter.

0:06:47 > 0:06:50Start by making a really simple dough.

0:06:50 > 0:06:51Add in some sugar.

0:06:51 > 0:06:53Add one egg yolk.

0:06:53 > 0:06:56To get just the egg yolk, you just flip the egg from side to side.

0:06:57 > 0:07:00In America, they call biscuits "cookies".

0:07:00 > 0:07:03Add flour, and mix together to form the dough.

0:07:04 > 0:07:06Splash of the vanilla extract.

0:07:06 > 0:07:09This just makes them taste a little bit better.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14It does taste good - that's for sure.

0:07:14 > 0:07:16I'm now just going to wrap it in clingfilm,

0:07:16 > 0:07:20and then chill it in the ice bucket for about 30 minutes.

0:07:20 > 0:07:23Guys, go bright, bold - about a million colours!

0:07:23 > 0:07:26Holly, you do, like, the main board that, like, shows what we're doing.

0:07:26 > 0:07:30They're going to have to do a great job, because we want to sell loads!

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Back to my SOS biscuits.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35Roll out the chilled dough to cut out your shapes.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37Instead of using flour, I'm going to use icing sugar

0:07:37 > 0:07:38to stop it from sticking.

0:07:41 > 0:07:42Aw!

0:07:42 > 0:07:43BIRD TWEETS

0:07:45 > 0:07:46Don't think it likes me.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49So, here, I've got a cookie cutter in the shape of a sea lion.

0:07:49 > 0:07:51That's so good.

0:07:51 > 0:07:54I definitely think these are going to sell.

0:07:54 > 0:07:56I've got a really good joke.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58Why are oysters less generous that sea lions?

0:07:58 > 0:08:00Because they're "shellfish".

0:08:06 > 0:08:08The cafe has let me use their oven.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Bake for 10-12 minutes.

0:08:12 > 0:08:16This is my "Advertising Jack" coming out, right now.

0:08:16 > 0:08:19So, I'm just making a sign to appeal to

0:08:19 > 0:08:21the general Los Angeles public,

0:08:21 > 0:08:23to save our seals.

0:08:23 > 0:08:25Bright colours. You need to get the eye of the people.

0:08:25 > 0:08:27And not too many words - it needs to be short...

0:08:27 > 0:08:30As Dad says, "short, sharp and attention grabbing".

0:08:33 > 0:08:34Yes!

0:08:34 > 0:08:36Time to dress the sea lions.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38I don't really have a technique with decorating -

0:08:38 > 0:08:40I just do what I feel like, to be honest.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45I'm trying to make them as mad as possible,

0:08:45 > 0:08:47so they get as much attention as they can,

0:08:47 > 0:08:50and then, hopefully, more people would buy them.

0:08:50 > 0:08:53I'm using sprinkles and different coloured squirty icing.

0:08:53 > 0:08:54Better just test this.

0:08:56 > 0:08:57That tastes so good!

0:09:02 > 0:09:04These are going to look great on my blog.

0:09:11 > 0:09:14As I cook up more biscuits, the guys are doing an amazing job,

0:09:14 > 0:09:17and Advertising Jack's loving it!

0:09:18 > 0:09:21"Why take 25 seals when you can save 150?

0:09:21 > 0:09:24"You can do this by buying some of our delicious baked goods.

0:09:24 > 0:09:28"In doing so, you will be donating to the California Wildlife Center.

0:09:28 > 0:09:30"That gets my seal of approval!"

0:09:32 > 0:09:34Next up for the bake sale,

0:09:34 > 0:09:36I'm making doughnuts with a healthy twist.

0:09:36 > 0:09:39My Rescue Rings are round like doughnuts

0:09:39 > 0:09:41but super healthy and super delicious,

0:09:41 > 0:09:43so I think people are going to buy loads of them.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45Well, I hope so.

0:09:46 > 0:09:49They're probably the easiest thing ever!

0:09:49 > 0:09:51Core and slice apples into rings.

0:09:51 > 0:09:53Just like doughnuts.

0:09:55 > 0:09:56Mmm!

0:09:56 > 0:09:58Keep that there for later...

0:09:58 > 0:10:02I'm going to put some peanut butter on the first one,

0:10:02 > 0:10:05and then I'm going to add on some yoghurty raisins.

0:10:07 > 0:10:09Mmm. They taste good.

0:10:09 > 0:10:10Freeze-dried strawberries.

0:10:10 > 0:10:12Wow, these are very colourful.

0:10:12 > 0:10:14First one done.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17I'm doing lots of different toppings.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19So now I'm going to add on some chocolate spread.

0:10:19 > 0:10:21On top of this I'm going to put some pistachios,

0:10:21 > 0:10:23and maybe some almonds.

0:10:23 > 0:10:25Uh-oh!

0:10:26 > 0:10:29I think the messiest chef in my house is probably me.

0:10:29 > 0:10:31Add on some dried blueberries.

0:10:31 > 0:10:32These are healthy.

0:10:32 > 0:10:34Well, they're really starting to look good.

0:10:34 > 0:10:38I'm going to try and make it as bright and colourful as possible.

0:10:38 > 0:10:40And as delicious, of course.

0:10:40 > 0:10:43So I think I'm going to put as much as I can on this one.

0:10:43 > 0:10:45Mmm-mmm. Delicious!

0:10:45 > 0:10:49I'm sure these are going to sell brilliantly, cos they look amazing.

0:10:56 > 0:10:58Check out the menu!

0:11:01 > 0:11:06Mia and I are decorating the box where we should, hopefully,

0:11:06 > 0:11:07get all our money in.

0:11:07 > 0:11:09Tilly's an excellent chef

0:11:09 > 0:11:12and I'm sure her cookies are going to be great,

0:11:12 > 0:11:15and everyone will love them so they'll keep buying more.

0:11:15 > 0:11:17They guys are nearly done,

0:11:17 > 0:11:19and I'm finishing off cooking for the sale.
