0:01:11 > 0:01:17She tells me that if people get into trouble, they send them a lifeboat.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21- Hello, there.- Hello.- Welcome to Shoreham Lifeboat Station.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24- Have you come to have a look round? - Here we are at the RNLI.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27I hope we're going to see some lifeboats.

0:01:27 > 0:01:32- This is Linda, she's going to show us around.- All of these wonderful kits.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35You have a feel because it's all waterproof.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39Linda shows us the clothes that you have to wear on the lifeboat.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41This is called a drysuit.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44All the crew members are highly trained volunteers.

0:01:44 > 0:01:48They have a life jacket on the top to keep them nice and safe.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50Then she shows us a lifeboat.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55But it's a bit smaller than I thought it would be.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58This is our inshore boat. Do you want to have a feel?

0:01:58 > 0:02:02It's a bit like a bouncy castle, it's filled up with air.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03And a balloon.

0:02:03 > 0:02:07And then this is...oars, they've got two oars on the side.

0:02:13 > 0:02:17Well, now you've got your life jackets on, you can come with me.

0:02:17 > 0:02:21- Right, excited?- Linda took us to a much bigger lifeboat.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25I pretended to steer it. And then we went inside.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27This is where the crew would get strapped in

0:02:27 > 0:02:30cos it can get really bumpy at sea.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32I've never been in a storm out at sea but,

0:03:16 > 0:03:20It's a thunderstorm. Did you see that lightning?

0:03:23 > 0:03:29There is a red buoy on the sea, the big wave makes its bell ring.

0:03:29 > 0:03:35Our little boat flies up and down. There's not a lot we can do.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37We'll just have to ride it out, Fudge.

0:03:43 > 0:03:48Even the albatross lets himself get blown about by the wind.

0:03:56 > 0:04:02I try and send a signal to the lifeboats. I hope somebody sees it.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19Oh, no! A wave has crashed into the boat.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38I'll have to bail us out, Fudge.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00I think the waves are getting smaller.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03Perhaps the storm is leaving.

0:05:04 > 0:05:08Just then, we hear the boat - the lifeboat.

0:05:13 > 0:05:15Go on, Fudge, climb aboard.

0:05:21 > 0:05:24I can't believe the lifeboat crew saw our flare.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58Safe. Wet but safe.

0:06:23 > 0:06:25SHE GIGGLES

0:06:32 > 0:06:36That music made me think of a storm. What did it make you think of?

0:06:36 > 0:06:37Come on, then.

0:06:40 > 0:06:42WHISTLE BLOWS

0:06:42 > 0:06:46- Oh, it's coming out! - Aye-aye, captain.
