0:01:01 > 0:01:04and showed you how to create a little log cabin.
0:01:04 > 0:01:10First, we're off to Australia, in search of an underwater arty idea.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Hey, we're down by the sea and look!
0:01:19 > 0:01:20There's an aquarium.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46Let's try something.
0:01:46 > 0:01:51Use salt to make this amazing salty sea picture.
0:01:51 > 0:01:52Let's make it!
0:01:55 > 0:01:59Oh, lovely. We'll need a mini maker to help us.
0:01:59 > 0:02:01Let's see if there's one nearby.
0:02:01 > 0:02:03PHONE BEEPS
0:02:03 > 0:02:07Hello, mini makers. Now, who's going to help me today?
0:02:07 > 0:02:12- Hello, Mister Maker. My name is Madeline.- Hello, Madeline.
0:02:12 > 0:02:15- I can help you!- Fantastic!
0:02:15 > 0:02:19Thanks everyone. We'll see you soon.
0:02:19 > 0:02:24Great! Madeline is on her way to help us make the picture.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27But first, we need somewhere to make it.
0:02:34 > 0:02:37Wonderful! The Marvellous Maker Case
0:02:37 > 0:02:40has become a marvellous making table.
0:02:40 > 0:02:44Now we're ready to make our picture, by using these arty things.
0:02:44 > 0:02:46Some sheets of white paper...
0:02:49 > 0:02:50.. some water...
0:02:54 > 0:02:57..a washing-up sponge and a bowl...
0:03:01 > 0:03:02..some food colouring...
0:03:07 > 0:03:09..some brushes and some pens...
0:03:13 > 0:03:14..some salt...
0:03:18 > 0:03:21..some scissors and a glue stick.
0:03:23 > 0:03:26And last, but not least,
0:03:26 > 0:03:29we also need a tennis racket.
0:03:29 > 0:03:33A tennis racket? We don't need a tennis racket.
0:03:33 > 0:03:36Scrappz. How did you get here?
0:03:36 > 0:03:40We don't need one of these, but we do need some stickers, please.
0:03:40 > 0:03:45Take the racket back. Go on, that's it. Be careful! That's it.
0:03:45 > 0:03:50Oh, brilliant. Well done, Scrappz. Thank you!
0:03:52 > 0:03:54We've got some stickers!
0:03:54 > 0:03:57Now we've got everything we need.
0:03:57 > 0:04:01But it feels like something's missing. Mmmm.
0:04:01 > 0:04:06- Do you know what it is?- I'm here, Mister Maker!- Madeline! Of course.
0:04:06 > 0:04:08It's you! Thank you very much for coming.
0:04:08 > 0:04:11You're just in time, because we're going to make our picture,
0:04:11 > 0:04:13like this one here.
0:04:13 > 0:04:16It is a salty sea picture!
0:04:16 > 0:04:19Now this can get a little bit messy,
0:04:19 > 0:04:22so it's a good idea to put down some newspaper or some old paper
0:04:22 > 0:04:26first and, Madeline, I think we should put on some aprons.
0:04:26 > 0:04:30- Does that sound like a good idea? - Yes.- OK, then, lead the way.
0:04:32 > 0:04:37- Look at us. Now, Madeline, are you ready?- Yes.- Brilliant.
0:04:37 > 0:04:39Are you ready?
0:04:39 > 0:04:41Fantastic. Let's get making.
0:04:41 > 0:04:45The first thing we're going to do is turn our plain white paper
0:04:45 > 0:04:47into some patterned paper.
0:04:47 > 0:04:52Let's use a sponge and some water for this. That's it, Madeline.
0:04:52 > 0:04:54Now, make the paper nice and wet.
0:04:56 > 0:05:00And whilst it's still wet, we are going to need some of this stuff.
0:05:00 > 0:05:02It is food colouring.
0:05:02 > 0:05:05Now you can buy food colouring from a food shop, but you might
0:05:05 > 0:05:09have some at home already, so ask a grown-up to help you.
0:05:09 > 0:05:12First, we're going to use blue food colouring
0:05:12 > 0:05:14and spread it onto the paper.
0:05:18 > 0:05:22Now, whilst everything is still wet, it's time for our special
0:05:22 > 0:05:25ingredient - salt. Here it is.
0:05:25 > 0:05:30And when we sprinkle the salt over the wet food colouring,
0:05:30 > 0:05:33it leaves an amazing pattern behind.
0:05:33 > 0:05:37Now you can sprinkle this ordinary salt
0:05:37 > 0:05:41or you could even use this. Ha-ha!
0:05:43 > 0:05:47Rock salt. Ha-ha! Let's try this, Madeline.
0:05:47 > 0:05:51Sprinkle rock salt wherever you like.
0:05:51 > 0:05:54It comes in much bigger pieces and it leaves bigger marks
0:05:54 > 0:05:58on the paper. When you've finished sprinkling,
0:05:58 > 0:05:59leave it to dry.
0:05:59 > 0:06:03We've made lots of different colours of paper, like this,
0:06:03 > 0:06:05and brushed off all the dried salt.
0:06:05 > 0:06:10We're ready to start drawing now, Madeline. And what shall we draw?
0:06:10 > 0:06:15- Seaweed and some fish.- Seaweed and some fish. That's a great idea.
0:06:15 > 0:06:19I tell you what, why don't you take this pink paper
0:06:19 > 0:06:21and let's get drawing!
0:06:24 > 0:06:29When you've finished drawing, carefully cut everything out.
0:06:29 > 0:06:32Remember to keep one piece for your background.
0:06:32 > 0:06:36Now we can arrange all of the pieces in our picture.
0:06:38 > 0:06:43And when you're happy with your picture, glue everything down.
0:06:43 > 0:06:49We've finished. We've even added some stickers for eyes and mouths.
0:06:49 > 0:06:52A brilliant salty sea picture!
0:06:52 > 0:06:55And if you enjoyed that, how about trying these ideas, too?
0:06:55 > 0:07:00A salty octopus, with orange fish.
0:07:00 > 0:07:05Or you could even try a wonderful whale in a salty sunset.
0:07:05 > 0:07:08Why don't you try one of those pictures today?
0:07:08 > 0:07:10Well, thank you so much for your help, Madeline.
0:07:10 > 0:07:12BOTH: We made it!
0:07:12 > 0:07:16High-five! What a fantastic picture!

0:07:32 > 0:07:37What's that noise coming from the Marvellous Maker Case?
0:07:37 > 0:07:39Can you hear that?
0:07:39 > 0:07:41DOOR BOINGS
0:07:41 > 0:07:46It's the shapes! They're off on their journey around the world.
0:07:50 > 0:07:51# I am a shape (la-la-la)
0:07:53 > 0:07:56# I am a circle

0:08:40 > 0:08:43# I am a circle. #
0:08:45 > 0:08:47What's hiding in the circles?

0:10:23 > 0:10:27It's a real, working pen.
0:10:27 > 0:10:31Now, we can make one of these fantastic, frightening finger pens
0:10:31 > 0:10:33by using these arty things.
0:10:33 > 0:10:37We've got a pencil, a pen
0:10:37 > 0:10:40and a scrap of paper or card.
0:10:40 > 0:10:44This scrap is in the shape of a teardrop.
0:10:44 > 0:10:47We'll also need some green air-drying clay.
0:10:47 > 0:10:50Now, you can find this in an arts and craft shop.
0:10:50 > 0:10:54Today, to save time, I'm going to order some on my Makerphone. Right.

0:11:04 > 0:11:09How perfect! Look, everyone. It's some green air-drying clay.
0:11:09 > 0:11:13Now, don't worry if your air-drying clay isn't green,

0:11:16 > 0:11:19Now, we've got everything we need.

0:11:27 > 0:11:29Me, silly?! I don't think so.
0:11:29 > 0:11:32But I will have to be very quick.

0:11:38 > 0:11:40Brilliant. Are YOU ready?
0:11:40 > 0:11:43Fantastic. Let's make it, in a minute.
0:11:43 > 0:11:45ALL: Three...two...one!
0:11:45 > 0:11:50Start the clock. The first thing to do is get our air-drying clay
0:11:50 > 0:11:52and squish the pen into it, like this,
0:11:52 > 0:11:56making sure that we leave the nib outside, like that.
0:11:56 > 0:12:01Then we're going to squeeze the clay all around it, like this,
0:12:01 > 0:12:05into the shape of a very spooky finger, like that.
0:12:05 > 0:12:09Round and round it goes, like this. It's very bobbly.
0:12:09 > 0:12:12And you can make it any shape you like
0:12:12 > 0:12:18and it can be really, really fun if you use a pencil like this
0:12:18 > 0:12:21to make some wiggly lines like this
0:12:21 > 0:12:25and some wiggly lines there. Here we go, in the middle.
0:12:25 > 0:12:28And some wiggly lines at the back like that.
0:12:28 > 0:12:31You can even make some dots, as well.
0:12:31 > 0:12:35And if you get a ball of air-drying clay,
0:12:35 > 0:12:40you can roll it like this to make a wart to go on your finger, as well.
0:12:40 > 0:12:44Just squidge that on. Last but not least, you stick on
0:12:44 > 0:12:49your scrap of paper and you've made a frightening finger pen.
0:12:49 > 0:12:53I did it just in time, but if you've got more than a minute,
0:12:53 > 0:12:58you could leave your frightening finger pen to dry and paint it.
0:12:58 > 0:13:01You could even try these other ideas, too.
0:13:01 > 0:13:06How about this gorgeous, glamorous finger with a plastic jewel ring
0:13:06 > 0:13:08and a bright red nail?
0:13:08 > 0:13:12Or you could even make a weird werewolf finger,
0:13:12 > 0:13:14with a nasty brown nail and fun fur.
0:13:14 > 0:13:17Why don't you try and make it in a minute?
0:13:17 > 0:13:19Here's a reminder of how to do it.
0:13:19 > 0:13:23Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.
0:13:23 > 0:13:25Cover a pen with air- drying clay,
0:13:25 > 0:13:28making sure you don't cover the nib end.
0:13:28 > 0:13:31Make wiggly lines with a pencil.
0:13:31 > 0:13:35Add a wart, with a small lump of clay.
0:13:35 > 0:13:38Stick on a scrap of paper, for a nail,
0:13:38 > 0:13:41and your frightening finger pen is finished.
